🎬 If a movie or show were based on your fic, which fic would you choose and who would you fancast?

I'm going to go with the little verse of Wearing Your Wounds and Sanctuary because they're the Dalton Ranch fics, and they have OCs.  For Jack's mom, I think Sally Field, yes?  For Jack's sister Shelly, I think I'd cast Rachel Griffiths (from Brothers & Sisters), her husband Joe could be Ian Bohen (from Yellowstone & Teen Wolf), and I have no idea about the kids.  I used to have favorite actor kids, but they've all grown up!

💕 What is your favorite fic that you’ve written?

I answered this one for pluto, but I'll give you another one because I don't just have one.  The Care & Feeding of MacAndJack is one of my favorites.  It's an outsider POV (via Annie, my fave nurse), and I had a lot of fun writing someone else's thoughts on Mac and Jack and their partnership. 

💛 What is the most impactful lesson you’ve learned about writing?

Writing is a great outlet for feelings.  Stories are some of the oldest ways to communicate and work through things, and they can evoke all the emotions.  Sometimes, you want to feel like you're part of the team.  Sometimes, you need to live vicariously through someone else's comfort.  Sometimes, you need to work through pain by putting it on a fictional character.  There have been times that I've cried my way through writing a story, but I've felt better afterwards.

From The Care & Feeding of MacAndJack, in which Jack takes a sick Mac to Phoenix Med, and we get to see them through medic Annie's eyes.

Annie jotted down the information beside her crossword and ran the symptoms through her internal medical database. Fever and vomiting were pretty common. “Any other symptoms?”

“Headache, bad cough, and he’s having trouble catching his breath after a coughing fit,” Jack reported.

She had been off duty for the last few days, so she pulled up Mac’s chart on the computer to see if he had been to Medical recently. There wasn’t anything noted since last month. “Anything else I should know?”

“Uh, yeah, Mac took a dunk in the river a couple of days ago. He was okay afterward, not a scratch on him.”

Annie didn’t bother to ask what country they’d been in, but it sounded like the swim session was to blame for Mac’s illness. “Bring him in, Jack. Do you need someone to meet you at the parking deck with a wheelchair?”

“No!” Mac called out in the background and then barked out several terrible coughs.

“I think we’ll be all right,” Jack said and then hung up.

Annie raised an eyebrow at the phone receiver. “And goodbye to you too, Dalton.”

This week’s word/theme is COUGH. I'd managed to avoid Covid until this week, and now I want to read sickfic.
