Oh goodness yea. So much of my dialogue and interaction is literally things that happen often between me and my husband xD also a lot of the queer longing i put into these fics is rooted very firmly in reality lbr.

I'd have to go with this bit from the Youth Pastor/Bad Boy reverse omens au that I've been working on where they're just settling into their burgeoning friendship and go out for pizza:

��But, if I can wax poetic about this ‘basic pepperoni’, you have to try my ridiculous concoction of a pizza.” Gadriel smiled mischievously at him, continuing to finish his slice, “I was already going to do that, but deal.” Ezra took a bite of the pepperoni, enjoying it the same way he had enjoyed his own slice. “The crust still stands, the semolina flour giving a smooth finish while the cornmeal makes for a nice crunch. Oh man there are so many that I have sitting in me and Ouida's server xD. A few that I'm very excited about:

A human au where Crowley is a repressed incel who doesn't realize he's gay and wanders into a queer kink bar by mistake on his way to an alpha male grindset meetup at a different bar and meets leather daddy Aziraphale who gives him a new lease on what being a man is about.

A book canon fic where Aziraphale and Crowley's corporations are damaged to the point where they have to discorporate in a battle back in celtic times, but their bodies are in a ravine and they are slowly decomposing because no one knows they're there and they can't off themselves (obviously no one actually dies, I just want the imagery of bodies decomposing together because I listen to too much Hozier).

Another human au where Crowley works at a truckstop and Aziraphale is the big quiet bear of a trucker who frequents the establishment and Crowley is Big Time Horny for him.

Reverse omens Beauty and the Beast fusion but it's specifically The Tiger's Bride by Angela Carter inspired.

To add to what's already been said in the comments, I think it's also largely in part because of the relationship Snape and the Marauders have in the books.

No matter their many qualities, the Marauders were bullies, and no matter his many flaws, Snape was their victim. They were enemies and despised each other.

So, liking one side often (though of course not always) means that you won't like the other, simply because of what they represent in the books.

I agree that the Marauders fandom is now mostly made of OCs, including Snape funnily enough, but that doesn't erase the main issue that Snape fans have: the bully/victim relationship.

(When you see a post calling Snape a creepy incel stalker with Lily, and then 5 mins later a Marauders fanart with thousands of notes where James is at Lily's family home under her window asking her to come out while she screams at him to fuck off, and everyone in the reblog think it's so cute and adorable, you realise that pretty and rich privilege are very much alive and doing extremely fucking well. I mean, who's the character in canon who tried to blackmail Lily into a date, and who had an invisibility cloak and a map who tells him where everyone is at all times? Not the one who's considered a stalker and a creep, apparently.)

From a Snape fan point of view, the Marauders fandom in a nutshell is this: glorify and woobify the bullies who once sexually harassed/assaulted someone out of boredom, and crucify the victim who sometimes dared fight back and "wasn't innocent" as if that somehow invalidated their victim status.

Just yesterday there was a post on reddit titled "what James did to Snape was deserved". I saw a tumblr post with a similar line last week in the Snape tag. And another, that said that "someone had to" (bully Snape). I have all the anti Snape tags blacklisted, so that means the ones I see are barely even the tip of the iceberg.

That is also exacerbated by the fact that every damn Death Eater is currently being given "redemption arcs" (or rather "they were nice all along" arcs) in the Marauders fandom... except the one who literally and canonically got a redemption arc.

And like, there's nothing wrong with loving Barty Crouch Jr or Regulus Black, there's nothing wrong with loving them and hating Snape, what is wrong however is when fans of these characters come in the Snape fandom corner of the fandom and try and tell us all about how their new baby is better than our favorite character.

It wasn't long ago that a Barty fan was arguing hard that Barty was a better person than Snape because he was... nice to Neville Longbottom. Barry Crouch Jr, who helped torture Neville’s parents to insanity, who basically orphaned him and is so partly responsible for his shitty childhood, was nice and kind to Neville (manipulation tactics who, I guess), was a better man than Snape, who dared, who had the absolute audacity, to threaten to poison Neville’s pet toad.

And I'm not even going to go into all the "Regulus is the true Slytherin hero" pissing contests posts we see pop up very regularly.

Now, I am by no means saying that Snape fans are without fault, many are way too aggressive in their hatred for the Marauders, and in recent years there's been a growing hate boner against Lily that I've spoken multiple times about and that frankly concerns and disturbs me both equally. However, I don't know how many people in the Marauders fandom are afraid to say online who their favorite characters are, but it's a common fear in the Snape fandom, and that is in large part because of Marauders fans (again, thankfully not all, but a loud maybe-not-even minority).

I am a Snape fan, so my account will be biased, in most part because I get to see all of the Marauders fandom ugliest side, and little to nothing of its best side.

(Not saying any of this against you, OP! ❤️)

one thing i genuinely don’t understand is like

okay there are marauders fans and pro-snape (anti-marauders?) fans, and like, nice, people have different views and this are literally characters (most of whom barely even appear) in fiction but like why do they not only hate but seem to sometimes actively try to go against each other like can’t they coexist and just not interact and leave each one be?

because i understand that from an entirely canonical perspective, the marauders (especially james and sirius) were FAR from saints, but i also understand that pretty much the entirety of the marauders fandom stems from entirely fictional ideas from these fictional characters, like the marauders & co. are pretty much OCs at this point (within the marauders fandom) and i think that comparing them to canon is just kind of unfair? like they are literally different characters at this point, only with the same name

i see why snape fans would hate the canonical marauders, but i don’t see why they seem to hate the fan-made marauders, or the people who enjoy said fan-made marauders

i just really don’t understand the overall hate sorry please don’t come for me

While we all wait for you to continue blessing us with your masterpiece, I will lose myself in my HCs how your story continues on; Such as i) Aemond attacks BB Aegon -> everbody believes Aegon died -> Daemon let's Jaehaerys be assassinated alla "a son for a son" after all -> Heleana commits suicide -> Daemon kills Aemond alla canon, but Daemon survives (mabye Rhaenys is here to save the day) -> Maelor is sent to Oldtown as precaution, but gets killed on the road similar as to canon -> The Gold Cloaks assassinate Aegon the Pig when he visites The Street of Silk, cause they are the loyal bitches of Daddy D and the pigking is an idiot -> Rhaenyra takes The Capital and has Alicent arrested -> Viserys is about to head up with Daeron near Oldtown when Aegon III reappears with the Winter Wolves, after they murdered Ser Incel -> With them on their doorstep, the men turn on Daeron and murder him to prevent the battle -> the Blacks take Oldtown -> Idk if Otto is in KL or Oldtown, doesn't matter that bitch is dragged there to watch as the Blacks turn Hightower into Harrenhall 2.0 -> Otto and Alicent are kept in the Red Keep for the rest of their lifes and have to see the Blacks thrive as punishment 😎

I cannot tell you how touched I was when I read your ask, and how emotional I was as well...

I say it all the time and it's true. I don't have any particular talent. I have no formal education in literature or any of the sort. English is not my native language. My imagination sucks. The only thing that is special about me (but in my opinion shouldn't be because most people should do this) is that I give a sh:t. That's it. I give a sh:t. That’s it. That’s all.

My fics are very far from perfect, but I always strive to do my best. To keep things consistent. To fix things where I can. To make people feel like these are the characters they read about (not watched, read, it will forever only be the characters they read about) and that they live in the asoiaf universe. Because I love this story, these characters, this world, and every time I think about the mockery that is being made of them and of how many people turn a blind eye to this and support it it really leaves me angry. But no more of this talk because I am NOT going there or getting anywhere near that poorly pathetic excuse for a fanfiction which has less of canon in it than ANY fanfiction I have ever seen.

Back to "The Blacks & the Greens". Thank you so much <3 don't be too impressed (if any) though. When I first started I was not as good at... anything really. I had a lot of trouble in world building, action scenes, getting how the characters should talk right... I had a real learning curve and there is a huge difference between some earlier chapters and the new ones - hence why I am currently finishing revamping part 1 and then will move on to part 2; part 3 I am super happy with though so I will just do minor corrections on typos. Heck! I even struggled to write smut! Me! The person who gets something happening in between the smut scenes! Can you imagine? *shudders* I am kidding there's not that much porn in my fanfiction 🙂

I hope to be here for long, giving justice to the number 1 chaotic OTP of Fire and Blood Daemon and Rhaenyra Targaryen! And encouraging others to piss on people who make a mockery of the universe we love, and help to give these characters justice!

Daemon in Part 1: Literally you are a bag of d_cks and people are like “Prince Daemon, step away from the underaged girl!” but then they realize everyone around is so much worse 😐 and you’re kind of funny (and hot, k like super hot) so they stan you.

Daemon in Part 2: No one: Absolutely no one: Not a single soul: Not even one person: Constantly reminding everyone you are tapping Rhaenyra for a living and that your sons are the future kings. You also do scary things every once and a while and you might (MIGHT) be developing some uncomfortable things other people call “feelings”. 

Daemon in Part 3: Walking around with one or two children with him constantly and saying and doing cool things and cashing checks no one can afford while your babies eat your hair. Also getting really tired of a lot of sh:t. 

Daemon in Part 4: Good. I don’t have to hold back anymore 😠 Everyone: You were holding back?!!!!!!! 😭😭😭😭😭

Thank you for all the faith you have in me <3 I hope I am worthy it. And I can say that next chapter is either from Daemon or Aegon II’s POV.
