So last summer, during 2024 Field Day, a fellow club member brought some hanky HF transceiver to mess around with as the GOTA station.

I hate contesting, personally, I'm all about the tech, but I go anyway to shoot the shit with my other club members and do support stuff like refilling the generators, stringing antennas, etc, so I always have a good time even if I don't make any contacts personally!

Anyway, we were packing up on the second day, and I started dicking around with this weird HF rig. Messed around in the menus and eventually I found an NES emulator buried in there! Hooked up a keyboard and loaded Mario, because of course it came with Mario.

The kids of course wanted a go, but after them, my good friend took a shot, and I recorded a bit:
