It was always nights like this where Katsuki found himself stuck in bed with hot tears going down his face, too upset to even move, and missing you too much to think of anything else.

He'd always tried to tell himself 'It'll get better, just keep going', but as if everything in the universe was working against him, the moment the saying seemed to come to fruition, it all came crashing down.

It'd be a good night out on the town with the Bakusquad, a good day at work, or just a day where he was overall feeling good.

Only for it to come crashing down on him a moment later.

Katsuki held your pillow close to him, wishing he could have you here to comfort him like you had always done.

Katsuki raked a rough hand through his spiked locks as he sighed.

Another hectic day of hero work, and another day full of casualties.

He knew it wasn't possible to save everyone 100% of the time, but it weighed on him that he couldn't nonetheless, especially since it had been happening more and more often. And the whispers in the media about his growing failures after every article about him didn't help.

The soft and familiar creak of your bedroom door swinging open caught his attention, the soft padding of your footsteps following after.

Normally, he'd call out to greet you, but today he didn't even have the energy for that.

"Katsuki, you home? You better not be sitting on the couch all sweaty and gross again-" You paused as you spoke, concern flooding in your chest.

"Kat? Everything okay?" You asked your husband, wrapping your arms around the back of his neck, forgetting about how dirty he was.

Katsuki grunted, silently locking his strong and scarred arms around your waist.

"Another bad day at work, huh?" You asked softly, stroking his hair.

Katsuki's grip around you tightened, and his face pressed into your stomach as tears flowed down his face.

"Fuck, fuck, fuck. Why the hell am I never good enough? I can never actually do the shit I want to. I feel like I can't even do my fucking job properly. And I can't even be a good husband and be home for you. I'm such a fuckin' failure I—" He started into a muffled ramble, and before he could get in too deep, you cut him off.

"Hey, hey, hey, lover." You started, cupping his tear stained cheeks, making him look up at you.

"You don't have have to be a star... I love you just the way you are." You assured him, a warm smile on your face.

He cried even harder, face contorting in pain as he felt all his emotions flash through him and drain, as if you were sucking them out.

"Just give me true love and understanding."

"Love is just the same, without fortune and fame." You told him, combating his ever flowing tears with the gentle pad of your thumb.

You tenderly placed your lips against his, the both of you closing your eyes as Katsuki sobbed lightly against your mouth.

"I know you always want to be on top of everything, the best, the king of the fucking world. But it's okay not to be, love." You told him.

It was a hard to swallow pill for Katsuki, but he needed to hear it nonetheless. And in a way, it did comfort him, liberating him of the weight he'd set on his own shoulders from the very start.

"You don't have to be a king, you don't have to be a thing. I'll be satisfied, as long as you're my guy. Just give me true love and understanding,"

"For the rest of my days."

'Lover, lover, lover, lover,' Katsuki repeated in his mind, a never ending mantra of comfort.

You'd randomly picked up the nickname from God knows where, and actively used it on him.

He'd kiss his teeth everytime you'd call him by this name, he'd call it cheesy, and corny. But never had he told you to stop, not that you would anyways.

In a way, he found it reassuring.

'Lover'. Your lover, as you are his, forever and always, to the moon and back, till death do you part. And even then you both silently promised that you'd wait for each other in the afterlife, everytime you were intertwined with one another, and held each other like you'd slip away.

Especially now that your death had parted the two of you much too early.

So now he sat alone, day by day and night by night, waiting, and wishing his lover were here right now.

Bakugo scoffed, and scowled at the man as he rested his chin in his hand.

"Yeah, sucks, but rules are rules. I can tell you're probably having a hard time, but you've probably got a woman back at home who wouldn't be happy with you coming back plastered off straight vodak." The man suggested.

Bakugo checked his wrist watch.

'Shit, already 1 am.' He thought.

I've been in this club too long...

"I dont." Bakugo said bluntly, swirling his finger around the rim of his glass.

"Really? You're a pretty good looking guy, not even anyone on the radar?" He asked, cleaning out a beer glass with a rag.

Of course, Bakugo's thoughts immediately went to you.

The first relationship where he'd ever genuinely fell in love, and the first one he regretted fucking up. And even after the nasty break up you both had, not once did his love for you falter.

You, however, fell out of it so quickly, made it look so easy. He couldn't blame you for it, he'd leave too, especially when you got with someone so much better just a few weeks later.

"The woman that I would try, is happy with a good guy..." Bakugo quietly explained.

But I've been drinkin' so much that ima call her anyways.

He didn't know if it was the alcoho, or his natural impulsiveness, guiding his hand to his phone, pulling up your contact that was still under 'My Baby💖', and hitting the call button.

Regardless of which it was, he knew he didn't care as he listened to it ring, silently praying you'd pick up despite the odd hour he was calling.

The bartender shook his head, knowing how it would end, as he's seen it countless times from other patrons just like the drunken blonde.

As a 'good luck' He slipped over one last shot, plus a bottle of water, and went to tend to a group that just settled at the bar.

Bakugo knocked the shot back, feeling the burn in his throat, as you picked up the phone.

"Hello?" He heard you say.

Your voice sounded as pretty as always, even if you were half asleep. As good as it felt to hear it, the anger build up and alcohol created word vomit that he'd soon regret.

And say—

"Fuck that new guy*, that you love so bad, I know you still think about the times we had." He said, words slow and in a low tone due to his drunk state.

"Wait– Bakugo? What? What are you talking about?" You blurted in realization.

"I said fuck that new guy* that you think you found, and since you picked up I know he's not around."

Bakugo heard you sigh, and shift around before you responded with a simple question.

"Are you drunk right now?"

He chuckled at how you could still read him like it was nothing.

"I'm just sayin' you could do better."

"Bakugo—"

"Tell me have you heard that lately?"

"Katsuki." You said firmly, voice laced with impatience.

There was a pause between the two of you. It's been a minute since you've called him by his first name, it felt odd, yet familiar to both of you.

"Look, I know you and Izuku have had a shit ton of problems, but there's no reason for you to call me just to hate on him–"

"I'll start hating only if you make me."

You kissed your teeth and growled, a light shuffling noise coming from your end as you began to walk around your bedroom.

Now all the alcohol was really setting in, Bakugo could feel his head spinning and his eyes getting droopy, he was about to pass out.

He would have, but he had more to say, stubbornness forcing him to preserve, this time his intoxication pushed him to contradict his tone frome earlier.

"I've been talking crazy, I'm lucky that you picked up, lucky that you stayed on."

Bakugo prayed to every God there might be that he wouldn't remember what he was about to say next.

"I miss you..." He muttered.

Bakugo heard you take a deep sigh, and if he could see you he knows you'd have your head in your hand while rubbing the bridge of your nose.

"I'm–" You went to apologize, then stopped yourself.

Your break up wasn't your fault, it was his and you reminded yourself of that, you had nothing to apologize to him for.

"No. Call me again when you're sober– if you even remember to. I want an apology. For everything." You demanded.

Bakugo opened his mouth and took a breath in to speak, till he heard a click and then silence.

His phone dropped onto the bar counter top, and his body slowly went limp, head slumping onto the counter as everything faded to black.

He really hoped he'd remember to call you in the morning.

My only rules are to please not ask personal questions such as my age, name, where I live, face reveal questions, in depth family questions, explicit shit, things like that. You can ask me anything as long as it doesn't cross those boundaries. Asking questions about my OCs is allowed too (and encouraged).

This event is much bigger than my others, including my love letter event, and has many more features that are more interactive and involve more people. These features include:

The 5 Song Fics:

Slots Available: 2

For the 5 song fic requests, I'll be taking 5 (five) requests for oneshots (and that means oneshots ONLY), and I'll write a songfic with one of the 5 songs below, and a single character from my character list.

I will ONLY be taking 5, and it's unlikely that I'll make exceptions or expand on this, taking into account other parts of this event, requests I already have on backlog, and time in general.

Character List.

Only one (1) request per song, which means no 2 fics will have the same song. This does not apply to characters however, if I get 2+ requests for one character that's fine, so feel free to request anyone (as long as they're on my character list).

If you send a request before the slots are filled, but you have requested a song someone else has already requested, I'll DM you to ask you to submit another request with a different song.

Fluff, angst, and suggestive are allowed. Just obviously not things I've already specified under certain categories only. (Ex. Marvin's Room by Drake being angst only). These are also x readers only, no personalized requests.

And above all else, your request must still abide by my rules as normal.

These are just very short and simple ones, and they are also something that you all can request. This also obviously means to ignore my 'don't request SMAUs' rule just this one time.

I'm only allowing one (1) character per request for the sake of time, and because I don't normally do SMAUs. This is also why I'm only doing eight (8), and eight only. There will be absolutely no exceptions or expansions on this.

I'm also doing texting SMAUs only, so no Twitter or Instagram AUs, sorry.

Fluff and suggestive only (I'm not experienced with smaus, angst would be a bit of a push). X reader only, characters can be requested multiple times so request who ever you'd like.
