Cuisine: Mediterranean fusion, haute Location: 5 on the Bund, Shanghai, China  Price Range: $$$

For dining with a view, M on the bund is a classy, world renowned restaurant alongside Mercato, Jean George, and Mr. And Mrs. Bund, as one to try for a formal dinner in Shanghai. The menu is Australian Mediterranean dishes with a Michelin twist.

Recommended: The Very Vegetarian or Veal. Ask waiter or waitress for wine pairing.

Other notes:

- The crowd is mainly expats. It is popular among those visiting shanghai for a more formal and fancier dinner.

- The best view is the terrace. Making a reservation one or two weeks in advanced is highly recommended.

- The dress code is business casual.  No jeans and sneakers will be accepted at the restaurant.

- Menu subjected to change seasonally.

- Dinners on weekends and week nights are very busy. Intimate atmosphere perfect for date night or with a small group of friends before going out on a Friday or Saturday evening.
