finished my horse ranch gp sims and yes they have unnecessary extensive lore that only matters to me
in order left to right
sullivan (sully) nakai: animal lover, green fiend, serious
jacquelyn (jack) loloma: loner, genius, overachiever
mackenzie (mack) loloma: daredevil
**(i might change some of these traits idk)
sully and jack were childhood friends and eventually fell in love as they became teens. unexpectedly, they became teen parents to mackenzie, and shortly after graduation they got married.
as the years passed a feeling of resentment grew within jack. she loved sully (and still does,) but she didn't want to become complacent in life and give up her dreams of going to law school. naturally, sully and jack grew apart; they wanted different things in life. she wanted to venture outside of her hometown and live in the city, and sully perfectly content tending to his late father's ranch with his brother.
so, they got divorced and jack left with mackenzie to live in san myshuno. sully is someone who doesn't regret anything in life, but sometimes he wishes that he had fought harder to keep mackenzie in his life. their relationship is quite strained now that mack is older and also due to the distance. with jack's busy schedule as a lawyer they don't go back to visit often, so they mostly communicate through the occasional video call when mack isn't too busy terrorizing her classmates at school.
now that mack's out of school for the summer, jacquelyn feels it would be best for her daughter to spend her summer vacation on the ranch with her dad. she'll get a chance to have some quality time with sully and bond with him and also learn some discipline (hopefully).
-------
anyways that's all i could think of lore wise, can you beleive that this is the short version!! i suck at summarizing pls forgive me lol
if you read all of this then i appreciate you so much bc wow i really do just be talkin.
#resisting the urge to make 39480 family members i already made jack's mom i might make her dad and give sully a brother#ts4 cas#s4mm#the sims 4#s#simblr#ill think of a tag for them later speaking of i need to fix my theme/navigation#ugh i hate that cowboy hat but i didnt have any cc at the time so that'll def change in the future#im soo excited for the pack to come out even though i think there's not a lot of stuff but im just looking forward to the horses and having#once i saw that children can ride horses the idea of all this popped into my head. i think mack will find out that she likes taking care of#i tried to make her look like a good mix between her mom and dad but i dont have a ton of skin details for kids. i'd say that making her ou#chestnut ridge

Station 19 7x01 Thoughts
We finally got Marina back on our screens! I missed them so much. 😭 You could tell Carina was connected to that little baby from the start and the fact that it made her realize she wanted a fresh start with Maya in a new home because the waitress didn't make it. (Loved Maya reassuring her saying she did everything she could too!) I loved that scene (that was mostly spoiled) except the kiss angle! Like come on ABC, we are on at 10pm now, that can't be happening! Even if I get they were probably going for the 'sneaky' vibe since they were at work and I loved that they were trying to be a little secretive about it but we better not see any of their other kisses like that, there's no excuse!
The chef immediately going up to Carina and saying he wanted to adopt the baby gave me weird vibes from the start and you could tell Carina was upset at the idea...I also really like that the name ended up being Liam because it has its own meaning that doesn't have to do with anything else and it's a cute name! (in my opinion)
The last Marina scene...I really wish it was longer and they had gotten more of a chance to really discuss the idea of adopting a baby because they really didn't bring it up at all? I liked that Maya was the one who suggested it first even if we saw that Carina was already attached but I just wish they could have expressed their feelings about it more before automatically just saying yes we can do this. I get they are crunched for time and there's a lot going on but it just feels like they're cheapening what is an important story. But I'm thrilled that they added they will still try to get pregnant and continue that process...here's hoping by the end of the season they will have two babies. (My theory of Carina giving birth in the finale and that being the 'crazy Grey's crossover' with a character being at Grey's in a way they haven't before is definitely following that.)
The Andy speech was even worse in real time. Like really? She even had to name every single person who was captain before her? Excessive and unnecessary. Show don't tell. She's definitely going to get on my nerves this season.
Ghost Jack was...interesting? I guess it added something. Not surprised he won't be able to fight fires anymore since we all basically guessed that anyway. I am curious if he'll be on throughout the whole season or if he'll end up leaving or something.
Vic was amazing with the Crisis One stuff. Theo is still an asshole and I want nothing to do with him. The Ross/Sullivan stuff? Eh.
Oh also the fact that Travis and Emmett got the 'sex' scene of the episode and not Marina? 🤡 Some choice words about that but hopefully ours is coming...
All in all I wish we got more Marina but they are moms!!! They have a little boy!!! Liam Deluca-Bishop is theirs and I can't wait to see them with him! Give me all the cute domestic scenes because that baby is adorable! 😍
And this was everything. ❤️
We are so back!!
#station 19#station 19 spoilers#carina x maya#now i'm going to gif some stuff before bed because there was actually a download out!

She/Her. 21+. Looking for various fandom roleplays. 🐺
I write on Discord or through Tumblr messages. I like to stick to Tumblr for plotting. I write in third person, past tense and usually around 200-400 words. I work full-time during the week so daily replies will not happen. I try my hardest to get them out within 2-3 days. I do not double and have no triggers.
I'm open to MxM, FxF, and MxF ships, although MxM is my strong preference so please at least be open to discussing MxM pairings, even if we end up going with something else. I'm mostly looking for canon x canon pairings but am willing to discuss some canon x OC. I lean towards romantic pairings and writing NSFW/smut (with a healthy dose of plot). Neither of those are a requirement, though.
I'll just be listing my main muses for each fandom. I have a lot of favorite ships. I'm always open to doing others. There's only a slight chance I'll turn a ship down.

The Aid Backstory
This is a collection of miscellaneous chapters separate from the progressing storyline that delve into Aid's past, including parts with members of the Sullivan clan such as Eleanor, Waylon, Taylor, Haylee, and—of course—Wyatt. As always, things will be routinely added after I finish them and are subject to change!
Masterlist
Once I have written a chap, it will be linked to its correlating summary.
Posting this is either incredibly ballsy or reckless of me, I can't decide which. I've only begun writing a few of these parts so far, yet here I am, throwing them out to the wind. This gives an idea of some backstory elements and a sneak peek into some upcoming works. Some of these are standalone, while others are mini-series or multi-parters.
These span about six years and are mostly in chronological order, but I may move them around as I see fit.
Home Sweet Home: Aid's travel and first couple of days in his new home.
Couture: Eleanor takes The Aid shopping for new clothes and has him pick out a birthday present for her son, Wyatt.
50th: The Aid meets the rest of the Sullivan family at Wyatt’s 50th birthday bash.
Loyalties: Waylon tests if The Aid can be trusted to take on the role of acting consigliere to the family business.
(WIP) Taylor: As requested by Waylon, The Aid is tasked with detangling the emotional battleground of his troubled daughter, Taylor. Smutty, dub-con bitch boy shit + femdomme + bad therapy (A few/several parts, a saga if you will). (*To be abundantly clear, The Aid & Taylor are around the same age and in their early 20s here.)
Snake in the Grass: Waylon uses The Aid to weed out potential traitors within the organization that are a threat to operations.
Poolside Margaritas: After The Aid does not return Taylor’s affections, she plans revenge and humiliates him in front of her newest lover.
Last Words: The Aid’s final moments with Eleanor before she dies, her hand held in his.
Funeral: Eleanor’s funeral, The Aid wonders what’s next for him.
The Will: Eleanor's will reading. When Aid finds out Wyatt is his new Master, they both don't take this information well.
Revoked: Wyatt removes many of Aid's "privileges" and instills new rules. He removes Aid's desk and bookshelf, rips off his doors, and takes away his TV from his unit's living room area.
(WIP) Dinner & Dignity: A month after Eleanor's passing, The Aid, suppressing his own discomfort and restlessness while walking a fine line between meeting expectations and avoiding unwanted attention, serves Wyatt a home-cooked dinner. What begins as a simple act of service quickly devolves into a night of Wyatt taking every opportunity to further erode The Aid's dwindling dignity.
High Roller: Wyatt takes The Aid to a casino and uses him to cheat on a poker game.
Cousin: Wyatt’s cousin, Vinny, comes over to celebrate Wyatt’s big win with a fat stash of drugs and call girls.
Pushing Boundaries: Events detailing Wyatt's increased abuse and seeing how much The Aid will take and deal with. First slapping him when he picks up an item that Waylon Sr. used to beat Wyatt with as a child. Evolves to foot rubs while Wyatt jacks off to porn.
Daughter: Wyatt’s daughter, Haylee, is in a bad mood during their weekend visitation which prompts him to use The Aid to figure out what is bothering her.
Blood lust: Defining moments of Wyatt's increased blood lust for The Aid. Starts with simple finger cuts and evolved into more. Ends with Wyatt licking wounds and finding out his new fav drug is Mystic blood.
Bad Dad: Haylee witnesses Wyatt beating on The Aid.
Happy Ending: Wyatt orders The Aid to his room, where he demands a full body massage and makes him give him a hand-job.
Weekend Get-Away: Wyatt and a few of the Sullivan business partners go on a hunting trip for the weekend. He brings The Aid along to carry gear and taunts and humiliates him in front of others. One of the partners brings their slave, too, and they have a gang bang, which Wyatt forces Aid to watch.
What's Owed: First time Wyatt assaults The Aid in the home office.
The Cabin: After the night of What's Owed, Wyatt gets The Aid stitched up and takes him to the family cabin where they have to fight off looters, and Aid has to choose between shooting Wyatt or the gang attacking them. They spend the week up there as Wyatt goes on a bender and torments the shit out of him.
Recordings: Wyatt plays videos of him torturing and assaulting The Aid and forces him to watch.
Escape Attempt: The Aid's attempted murder of Wyatt and the details of his week+ on the run and his recapture. He fights off anthrophages, raiders, and desert crackheads holding him for ransom money—a big multi-parter.
Basement Days: Another big multi-parter housing a collection of chapters detailing the 4 months of torture after Wyatt recaptures The Aid. This was originally where the story began, and I have a fondness for this time as a lot of things unravel here and affect Wyatt's motives and subsequent actions. Parts include but are not limited to:
(WIP) Reacquainted: The Aid's first 24 hours back home after Wyatt retrieves him from border patrol.
(WIP) Guilty: Wyatt drags The Aid down to the basement and beats a confession out of him.
I'm Sorry: Wyatt and Vinny are determined to make The Aid apologize for his crimes.
Facility flashback: Approximately two weeks into his imprisonment in the basement, The Aid has a flashback of the day that changed his life forever.
Fido: Wyatt force-feeds The Aid wet dog food.
Lessons: After telling off Wyatt, The Aid is restrained inside a cage as punishment.
Cat’s Out of the Bag: Waylon Pays a Visit and finds out everything that's transpired between Wyatt and The Aid. But once Waylon learns The Aid betrayed his trust and tried to murder his brother, he turns the other way, but not before cutting Wyatt off financially.
Internet Superstar: With the help of Vinny, Wyatt turns one of his hobbies into a new source of income.

...As promised, here's the lore post, in the form of a written scene about one of your favorite little guys.
(Spoiler alert: don't get too attached to the little guy)
Grab a stuffed animal, some candies, and sit down for this one.
-
“Good morning, boss!”
“Mikey.” Pulitzer acknowledged him emotionlessly. That was how he did most things, He only really chose to show anger, so an emotionless response was usually a good thing- at least he wasn’t yelling.
“What’d you wanna talk about?”
“The missing property.”
Then again, even if it was usually a good thing, there was no real way to tell. Michael sighed.
“I told you, sir. We don’t know who took it.”
“So you’re in the habit of letting thieves come here unannounced and take whatever they please?”
“I told you, I won’t let it happen again."
“Again isn’t good enough. If you were doing your job it wouldn’t have happened in the first place.” Pulitzer’s voice rose, just enough to make the room feel tense. “I don’t have to keep employing you, Michael.”
“Joe, you aren’t being-”
“MICHAEL SULLIVAN, DID I ASK YOU TO SPEAK?!” Pulitzer snapped, standing up.
“N-No sir.”
“So why did you do it?”
“I- I just thought you weren’t considering-” Michael caught Pulitzer’s gaze and trailed off. “I- I don’t know, Sir…”
“You-” Pulitzer paused, hearing commotion outside. He glared at Michael before drawing the curtain, revealing a bloody fight outside, nightmarish looking monsters going after the citizens. Michael gasped.
“I- I didn’t-”
“Listen to me, Michael. You listen to me carefully.” Pulitzer said in a terrifyingly calm manner, despite his clear shock. “You are going to go out there, stop that, and after that I’m cutting your pay. And if a single one of my citizens dies, instead of cutting your pay, I'll cut your neck. Understood?”
Michael was about to argue… but then a face in the crowd caught his attention. Well, half a face. A skeleton, to be more exact, with half of a familiar-looking decomposing face still attached to him, seemingly leading the attack. Michael grabbed his gun and nodded.
“Honestly, sir? You don’t even have to pay me for this. What I’ll get is enough payment.” He growled, storming out of the office and outside the building. “YOU!”
He felt the fight stop around him, everyone wondering what was going on. All but one monster- the skeleton- stopped to stare as he stepped closer, aiming his weapon.
“...Michael?”
There were gasps, mostly from the monsters, as the word left their leader’s mouth. The shocked silence didn’t last long, however, before Michael used the handle of his gun to whack him down. Everyone screamed, trying to drag them apart from each other, but Michael didn’t care. He grabbed him and ran to the roof of the world building, throwing him down onto it.
“JACK!” David yelled from the crowd.
“Is that what you’re calling yourself now?!” Michael laughed bitterly.
“Mikey, I thought you were d-”
Michael pressed the gun to Jack’s head, glaring down at him with hatred. “You don’t get to call me that anymore. Now give me one good reason why this gun shouldn’t go off.”
“Michael, this isn’t fair! What’d I do to you?!”
“You left me!” Michael choked back tears, half of hurt and half of pure rage. “You left me in that place and never came back! You killed my best friend!”
“I- well, I- wait, I didn’t kill anyone!”
“YES, YOU DID!” Michael screamed, diving at Jack. Les, who’d managed to get to the roof, tried to pull them apart. “Michael, stop!”
“Get out of here, I told you to stay with David!” Jack yelled, trying to shoo him away. He turned back to Michael. “I didn’t kill your friend! I don’t even know your friend!"
“HIS NAME WAS LES! AND YOU KILLED HIM!”
Jack froze. “...Les?”
“Michael, stop it! Please!” Les pleaded, avoiding Jack's gaze.
“Get out of here.” Michael spat, swatting the ghost away with one of his wings. “This is between me and... Jack. Or whatever he told you his name was.”
“What is that supposed to mean?” Les asked. The crowd had hushed, all holding their breath to watch the fight. Jack looked down.
Michael broke down in laughter, the kind that hurt him to make. “You didn’t tell them?”
“Michael, please-”
“What’s he talking about? Jack-”
“HIS NAME IS FRANCIS!” Michael yelled.
“YOUR NAME IS FRANCIS?!” David cried.
“JACK IS YOUR BROTHER?!” Les gasped. "HE'S THE ONE WHO LEFT THE REFUGE ON TEDDY ROOSEVELT'S CAIRRAGE?!"
"Les, listen-" Jack started. But Michael cut him off.
"I'm not letting you lie to them too. You weren't some hero... or some big cowboy... you were nothing." Michael turned to the crowd, intentionally raising his voice. "YOU WERE A PETTY CRIMINAL, WHO FRAMED ME AND GOT ME ARRESTED FOR THEFT, THEN LEFT ME IN JAIL!"
For a moment, everything was quiet. Then Michael stood up. "You don’t get to just come here and ruin my life again, Francis. Not again. And you don't get to ruin their lives either.” Michael grabbed his gun and pointed it, shooting and barely missing as Jack scrambled out of the way. “I’m going to kill you, and if any of your nightmare... monster things try to stop me, I'll kill them too."
“...That’s not fair.” Les whispered.
“Life’s not fair.” Michael spat back, shooting again. “But I’m trying my best to make it that way.”
“Michael, think about this!"
"Didn't I tell you to stay out of it?!"
While Michael and Les bickered, Jack saw his opportunity. So he lunged for Michael’s tail and grabbed it, driving the stinger into Michael’s arm.
“Wh- OW!” Michael shrieked, falling back and dropping his weapon. There was a sickening crack as the stinger broke off of his tail, remaining lodged in his arm. He began to feel lightheaded, putting his non-injured arm on the ground to steady himself.
“Michael!” Les yelled, hesitantly going over to him. “Jack, why would you do that?!”
“He was shooting at me! I- Oh, god…” Jack shook his head, walking over to where his brother was on the floor and kneeling down to him. “Mikey…”
“Save it.” Michael hissed. “I don’t get it, Jack… why? Why did you leave me?”
“I was going- I…” Jack sighed. “I’m sorry, Mikey.”
“You never came back.”
“I know, I’m sorry…”
“It’s not- you didn’t-” Michael’s words slurred a bit and he lifted a shaking paw to his head. “I’m going to die, Jack.”
“No, you’re not- Scorpions only sting, they don’t…”
“The spikes on my tail are venomous.” Michael turned his arm to reveal several small spikes lodged in it. “I’m going to die… and it’s your fault.”
“No, it’s-”
“It’s your fault, again!”
“Don’t-” Jack laughed, not in a lighthearted way, but almost in a bewildered, sick way. “Don’t spin this on me. Please.”
“You left me once. Don’t act like it’ll be hard to do it now. Go ahead.” Michael gestured to the abandoned gun. “Do whatever you want to this place. Ruin it, That’s all you’re good for, isn’t it?”
“Mikey-”
“Michael.” He snapped. “My name is Michael, Francis.”
“M-Michael. I’m sorry.”
“I’m not.” Michael hissed, using the last of his strength to grab Jack by his empty eye socket and fling them both off the edge of the world building.
“ARE YOU CRAZY?!” Jack shrieked.
“Maybe. And you wanna know something?! I hate that you were ever my brother.” Michael spat, just loud enough for only Jack to hear.
“Jack!” Finch yelled from the crowd, flying up to catch him. He narrowly managed, and he and Jack watched Michael plummet to the ground.
“Oh….” Jack said shakily.
“Don’t worry, I’ve got you.” Finch reassured him, bringing them both to the ground. Jack shakily stood up, walking over to where Michael was.
“...I kind of wish you hadn’t caught me.”
David came up beside him, taking his hand. “I’m sorry, Jack…”
Jack glanced down at his brother’s lifeless body, shuddering. “So am I.”
“He’ll turn to dust soon… you won’t have to see him.” Mush offered.
“That just makes me feel worse- I’m going to be sick.”
“...What now?” Crutchie asked softly.
Jack stood up taller at that, seeming to remember that he was a leader. “Get the Newspaper cart. I’m going up there, and I will make sure that nobody in this place is left alive.”
“Jack, are you sure?”
Jack glanced back at his friends, in a gaze that communicated a thousand words, and nodded. “I am.”

Ianto Jones and Harry Sullivan meeting, for @freshbaked-bread
Beware at this fanfiction is very OOC and is in the POV of Ianto Jones.
Ianto handed tea to the stranger.
He had curly hair, side burns and mostly different blue button-ups. Ianto noticed the man quite liked his tea with 5 sugars, which was quite interesting.
He didn't say much, but based off of what Jack said, he had traveled the Doctor. He wondered if they were the same Doctor that Jack had traveled with, or if it was a different incarceration.
Based off of the records of Harry Sullivan, he had been a surgeon-lieutenant, and worked at UNIT. Ianto felt particularly displeased with this information, he didn't like UNIT at all.
Jack insisted, if he was the Doctor's friend, he was their friend too.
He started making the others coffee, depending on whether or not to give Owen decaf. He decided since they had a visitor over, he shouldn't annoy the medic any longer

Could you give me a recap on the David lore because I forgor :’(
Oh boy that’s a loooong question (also rather comical and foreshadowing) /pos
Ok I’ll give ya all the David lore I have. I’ll go in timeline and say where the main two aus diverge as both aus have the same start.
David Evans was born in Australia (10th of October, 1956) after their parents had moved from Wales 11 years previously. Growing up he was the only ‘girl’ out of the kids and his parents were unfortunately rather misogynistic and so treated him poorly. His mother was mother the verbal abuse kind while his father was physically agressive. His three brothers (well one ended up transitioning later but i’ll keep it simple) who were about 9-8 years older than him were mostly good siblings (excluding his oldest brother who mostly mimicked their dad and was a general asshole).
(Somewhere in the childhood part David sees the Beatles perform on their famous Ed Sullivan show appearance and he became obsessed with them. This obsession continues on for the rest of his life)
He started transitioning in his late teens and his parents were wholeheartedly supportive of it as they just really didn’t want to have a daughter. David’s sister unfortunately didn’t get the same love when she transitioned and was shunned by their parents and older brother (also the youngest brother ended up dying at the age of 12 from drowning I think).
Anyways so David gets an extreme interest in mechanics and engineering and purses a course in it.
Now this is where timelines diverge and I’m gonna use colour coded text to tell ya which au the info is from. Red = Canon AU, Purple = Non-Canon AU
David fails the course and gets a job as a janitor at the local Freddy Fazbenders. While he works there he falls in love with a dayshift worker named Toby, they start dating until everyone’s favourite Tangerine and Aubergine show up at the location. They start causing chaos and eventually rig the suit to go off and due to neither of them showing up David is forced to wear the suit by their boss. He dies and is sent to the factory to become a phone guy (at the age of 29). (While at the factory an employee there glues roller skates to David’s feet so they’re permanently stuck there.)
He starts working back at Freddy’s, seeing Toby but not knowing who he is, Toby doesn’t realise at first either. But as soon as he does he ends up being fired.
David works at the location for a few years before being sent back to the factory to wait until he’s needed.
This results in him working for Mr J (the same Tangerine from earlier(the best way to describe Mr J is that he’s more like the business Jack in dsaf 3, more caring for money then people.) and he is just the worst boss. The only good thing he does is giving David his alive name back to him but doesn’t actually let him use it in public. He abuses David verbally and physically, poor dude is just covered in bruises, tiny cuts and burn marks from Mr J’s taser as well as his skeleton just having so many fractures and improperly healed breaks. (Funfact cause this whole thing takes place in Australia, healthcare is free so Mr J could let David go to hospital for 0 charge but he doesn’t.) Mr J just continues to make him work like that.
Due to the phoney process David’s body can no longer age, permanently frozen at the age he died. He’s mostly immortal because of that.
During the time when his partner Toby was firstly fired a child randomly spawned in the house he and David had been living in and so Toby just started raisin them as his kid (Jay).
Long story short of that part after David leaves freddys (due to a complicated cross-over event) he goes to find Toby only to find Jay living there as a fully grown adult with his own (adopted kid) and to learn that Toby had died a while ago in a car crash.
David starts living with his family and starts to notice that immortality thing as he watches his son and granddaughter growing older but he doesn’t seem to change. It finally clicks in his head when his son dies (natural causes) and he stays as close to his granddaughter and her kids as he can, not wanting to loose them.
He slowly starts to disassociate and becomes a but reclusive, the only thing he still has is a dog named Parasite (complicated au cross-over event that carried over to the canon. Basically Parasite used to be a clone of mr j but he got turned into a small lil mutant doggo and mellowed out, becoming David’s therapy dog)
David does get to meet all his descendants though and he tries to be as loving and caring to them as his was to his son and granddaughter.
Ok finally time for the other one!
So this time around David passes the course and gets a job at Freddys as a technician. While he works there he falls in love with a man named Toby (same one as before).
David ends up starting to work for Afton Robotics and works his way up in the company.
One day a child spawns inside their home (Jay, yes he just spawns because its just funnier), David notices how Jay looks identical to how he looked as a kid so they both decide to keep and raise them.
A few years later Toby passes away in a car accident leaving David alone to raise Jay while still workin at Afton Robotics. He does his best and tries to make things work around raising Jay and still making sure the company doesn’t fall behind on things (as by this point the original owner and operator of Afton Robotics had been revealed to be a fraud and was sent to prison, David being basically in second command basically became the new owner and operator). Two years after Toby’s death David starts dating again and falls in love with a dude named Joia. They date for about 3 years before getting married. (David is 40 when he marries Joia)
Blah blah wholesome cute family stuff with raising Jay and Jay eventually going and adopting a daughter (Moon).
David is 59 and Joia is 57 when Jay adopts Moon and they continue to be a happy family together.
At the age of 67 David starts to notice his slipping memory and general recall issues and so he and Joia end up going to the doctors about it, they come back finding out that David is in the early stages of dementia. As the years go on he starts to be affected more and more by the dementia, loosing memories and the ability to walk, not wanting to talk, sleeping more and more, being easily confused at where he is and who his family is.
Joia stays by David through it, slowly watching his husband fade away. Jay and Moon both visit frequently to check in on them and spend time with them.
David eventually is taken into the hospital as Joia was informed he only likely had a week left. By this point David has no idea who Joia, Jay or Moon are. To him its just a room of strangers.
The last day he ends up getting his memories back for a short while (something that does rarely happen with dementia irl) and he gets to give a proper goodbye to his family. Joia holds his hand and kisses him one last time on the cheek before David falls asleep again. He sleep for about 30 minutes, his breathing getting slower and slower until he forgets how to breathe and dies at age 85
(And because my friends didn’t want it to be that sad heres the extra part)
David becomes a ghost, regaining all his memories, staying with Joia as he just couldn’t bare to leave him behind. Joia can’t see or hear him, he doesn’t even know he’s there but he does talk to himself sometimes in a way thats meant to be a conversation with David. David answers but yk he can’t be heard by Joia.
About 6 years later Joia also passes away and they are reunited in the afterlife to spend eternity together.
So there you go, all the David lore you could ask for!

John Allan Jones (January 14, 1938 – October 23, 2024) Popular singer and actor. He was primarily a straight-pop singer (even when he recorded contemporary material) whose forays into jazz were mostly of the big-band/swing music variety. He won two Grammy Awards and received five nominations for Grammys. He notably sang the opening theme song for the television series The Love Boat.
Jones was born in Hollywood, California, on the night his father Allan Jones recorded his signature song "The Donkey Serenade", resulting in the younger Jones' assertion that he was "practically born in a trunk." Jack attended University High School in West Los Angeles and studied drama and singing. His mother was actress Irene Hervey.
Jones made his film debut in Juke Box Rhythm (1959) playing Riff Manton, a young singer who is involved romantically with a princess (Jo Morrow). He sings three songs in the film. He acted in minor films such as The Comeback (1978), Condominium (1980), and Cruise of the Gods (2002). He had a humorous cameo in the film parody Airplane II: The Sequel (1982); as Robert Hays' character avoids searchlights while escaping captivity, the beams become a spotlight on Jones, performing a verse from his Love Boat TV theme song.
He became a staple on 1960s and 1970s variety shows performing on The Dinah Shore Chevy Show, The Ed Sullivan Show, The Andy Williams Show, The Dick Cavett Show, The Hollywood Palace, The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, The Carol Burnett Show, The Jerry Lewis Show, American Bandstand, This is Tom Jones, The Dean Martin Show, The Judy Garland Show, Playboy After Dark, The Jack Benny Program, The Steve Allen Show, and The Morecambe and Wise Show in the United Kingdom.
Jones twice hosted the National Broadcasting Company (NBC-TV)'s top-rated rock and roll music series Hullabaloo (1965-1966), and was featured in two prime-time specials, Jack Jones on the Move (1966) and The Jack Jones Special (1974). He appeared on the Password TV game show with Carol Lynley in 1964 and multiple times with Joan Fontaine in 1967. He provided the vocals to the theme song of Funny Face, "The Kind of Girl She Is". When the show returned renamed as The Sandy Duncan Show, he was replaced by an anonymous chorus. He also guest-starred in a cavalcade of television series of the era, such as The Rat Patrol, Police Woman, McMillan & Wife, The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries; two game shows $weepstake$, Match Game, and the sitcom Night Court.
Jones played himself in the episode "The Vegas Show" of It's a Living. He sang the opening theme for the television series The Love Boat (1977–1985), and appeared in a 1980 episode with his father Allan.
Between 1973 and 1978, Jones hosted The Jack Jones Show, directed by Stanley Dorfman, produced and broadcast by the British Broadcasting Corporation's BBC-2 network. In 1990 he appeared in the Chris Elliott television show Get a Life on the Fox television network. (Wikipedia)

She/Her. 21+. Looking for various fandom roleplays.

Masterlist of all the Kelly-Jacobs kids I have made for my numerous AUs
Honestly, this is mostly so I can keep track of these scamps and my AUs. But I'm putting them here so enjoy
(Also, if you have any questions about the characters or the AUs, please ask, i love talking about my AUs)
My New Dream (single Dad Jack AU)
Faith Cecelia Kelly (Later Kelly-Jacobs)
The only child in this AU
She commonly goes by Fae
Named because of Jack's dream of Santa Fe (yeah Jack really sprained a brain muscle naming his kid)
She also gains the moniker of his "little fairy"
When Davey finds out her full name, he calls her Cece.
(He is the only person that is allowed to call her that. Not even Jack is allowed)
She was born soon after Jack moved to Santa Fe for college and he had a one night stand
She doesn't remember much of her life before meeting Davey when the move to NYC when she's 3
Discovers she's a lesbian when she's 7 and brings her first girlfriend home at age 10
Davey introduces her to baking when she's 5 and by the time she's 20, she is a pro baker on the cusp of owning her own little bakery
The Intricate Chaos Of You (Davey's band AU)
Stella Kelly-Jacobs
She was born via surrogate. Unlike both her dads having dark hair, she is blonde
Because of her blonde hair (and Jack and Davey always using the stars as endearments towards each other (because of Davey's song)) they name her Stella
Unlike her dads, her musical talent is limited to playing the recorder (badly)
She does have Jack's artistic talent
She either wants be a fashion designer or an inventor. There is no in-between and she changes her mind every other day
She is not very fond of the reporters and fans they deal with constantly so she loves it whenever they go back to Santa Fe because it's much more peaceful there
That being said, she has used her dads' fame to get out of trouble in school multiple times.
David Jacobs Guide To Dealing With A Bad Roommate (AKA my roommate AU)
Oliver Kelly Jacobs
He's told the story of how his dads started dating when he was 12
Jack never hears the end of it
What do you mean Aba had to get SHOT for you to confess you like him?
I was going to but the burglers got to him first
He's a little daredevil. He does flips on roller-skates, skateboards and bikes
(His dads dread when he starts learning to drive)
His dream occupation changes about twice a year
Unfortunately for his dads, he never chooses a safe job
(Jack's first grey hair is before he even hits 30 and he 100% blames Ollie)
Even In Silence
Connie Kelly-Jacobs
The oldest of her siblings
In the last chapter of EIS, she's 14
She's named after Connie Francis (who her grandfather (Jack's dad (Francis Sullivan) was named after)
She's loud all of the time (something picked up from all the time spent with Uncle Race)
She loves her siblings but is always in a competition with her brother.
It could be anything: homework, eating, brushing their teeth, she turns it into a competition
She could win everytime if she wants but she makes sure her brother wins just as many times (keeps a tally per week on her phone)
Fitz Kelly-Jacobs
His name comes from JFK's middle name (because his dad's (Jack's) aunt was named after Jackie Kennedy)
He is the middle child and only boy
In the last chapter of EIS he's 12
Almost the complete opposite of his older sister, he's very quiet.
Not that he doesn't talk. More like Ferb from Phineas and Ferb. Only speaks when he feels it's very necessary.
So he normally just uses ASL and is very close to Davey as a result
But he takes after Jack in his love for the drums
If he's sitting down at home, there's a 80% chance his youngest sister is in his lap
Meadow "Mimi" Kelly-Jacobs
The youngest of the siblings
Davey insisted on naming her after Medda somehow
But since she's young, everyone calls her Mimi to simplify it
She's 3 in the last chapter of EIS
A Jack Kelly carbon copy but with all the David Jacobs sass.
Ergo, the best of both her dads
Loves candy (as any child does)
Loves her siblings but has torn both of their hair at least twice when they ignored her in favour of literally anything else
Ice Skater AU
Maariyah "Maari" Kelly-Jacobs
She was adopted when she was 4
She's Punjabi (because I have to project SOMEWHERE)
Oldest by just a few months
Jack teaches all their kids to ice skate and she loves it so much, she decides to persue it as her career
just like dad
Wins her first competiton at 11 and Jack is a blubbering mess over her. She has a screenshot of it as Jack's picture on her phone.
She's a lesbian and meets her future wife at a rink while they're both just practising
Isaac Kelly Jacobs
He was 2 when Jack and Davey adopted him
He's African American. Jack immediately clicked with him because Isaac was orphaned when his mom died of cancer, the same as Jack.
He is normally the target of his siblings' pranks
When he becomes an astronaut, he often jokes in interviews that it was just to get as far as physically possible from them
He's the same age as Maari, just younger by a few months
He is pansexual and meets his partner in high school physics but they don't get together till they meet again years later
Sky Kelly Jacobs
The youngest of the siblings, adopted when they were only a few months old
They were born in Greece and are mixed race
Comes out as non-binary and ace when they're in their last year of middle school
(Jack's reaction to this is screaming "GOTTA CATCH 'EM ALL" and Davey rolls his eyes at that)
They're younger than their siblings by 3 years
They use the fame they get from being in a famous family to become a climate change activist (and dabbles in many other big social movements)
(This entire AU is just so >>>>)
Trans Davey AU
Francis "Frankie" Jacobs (later Kelly-Jacobs)
He was born before Davey starts the proper transition
He clicks with Jack immediately when they finally meet (he's 8)
Frankie is super close with his Aunt Sarah because she practically co-parented him up until he was 1
When Jack and Davey run into financial problems and meet Medda who gives them jobs, he becomes the "theatre's little nuisance (affectionate)"
Between the people at the theatre, Davey's family and all their friends, he is the apple of everyone's eyes

Do u not like Emily's writing then? I can barely remember most of the stuff she's written tbh it's kind of forgettable. Honestly I feel like Danielle's episode was a bit boring (beautifully directed and not being biased but the plot was kinda dull) other than that ep I think she wrote 4x10 with the covid testing thing that had some good moments and overall a decent ep although I was bothered by the scene where carina had a go at jack and he just played the victim instead of giving her a very deserved apology but ig that's standard for jackass. Other one I remember was obviously the Halloween one which I liked most of except that marina scene in the locker room the dialogue and carina's attitude just bothered me.
I'm not a big fan, no. All Marina/Carina bias aside considering Carina hasn't been in half of her episodes (she hasn't written that many, I think it's only 5 since she started writing in Season 4), I just find her episodes to be mostly filler than anything else. I agree with your description of the episode Danielle directed, she did a great job directing it but I feel like it just didn't really move the story along at all. There's never really any kind of plot development and some of the dialogue has frustrated me like the one you mentioned in the Halloween episode...and then we had to sit through like half of that episode being a sexcation for Ross and Sullivan so...yeah I definitely prefer others.

Chapter 32. Is It Finally Over?
El and Will were clearly exhausted, huddled together on one of the couches, barely awake as Owens’ people dealt with the clear up. Joyce had fed them candy bars already, but that clearly hadn’t helped with the fatigue. Steve wasn’t much better, but there was no way in hell he was letting on while the government were still in his home. He hadn’t trusted them before, now he wanted them gone as soon as possible.
“You better make sure that madman is thrown in the deepest darkest hole,” Hopper growled at Owens, “because if I ever meet him, I am putting a bullet between his eyes.”
“The Colonel will not be bothering you again. He has overstepped his authority and will be dealt with accordingly,” Owens promised. “We should really get everyone checked out.”
The man was mostly looking at Will and El and every protective instinct in Steve fired. Luckily, he wasn’t the only one as both Hopper and Joyce stepped between Owens and their children.
“We’ve got it covered,” Hopper said in a tone that was somewhere around absolute zero.
“They have both been through a great deal of stress,” Owens pointed out. “After what happened to El during the Starcourt incident I am only concerned for their…”
“Doctor Owens,” Steve watched his mom step in, “a moment of your time, outside.”
She pointed towards the front door. The flicker of anxiety across the man’s face was something to behold and Steve didn’t even feel guilty for enjoying it.
“She’ll kill us all,” he heard a voice snarl from the direction of the pool room.
He turned, just in time to see Colonel Sullivan stagger into the living room holding a gun. There was blood dripping down the man’s face from a cut above his eyebrow and his uniform was torn, as if he had been in a nasty fight. His face was also twisted with rage.
Steve was shocked when Owens stepped between the colonel and El and Will. He had his arms up in a placating gesture.
“Jack,” Owens said in a calm even voice, “it’s over. Put the gun down and we can talk about this.”
“You’re putting the world in danger,” Sullivan snarled.
“No, Jack,” Owens said, placating, “Eleven was never the danger. She destroyed Henry Creel, One, he was always the danger. He was the killer.”
“They’re all killers,” Sullivan said, “and she’s infected another one.”
“That’s not how it works, Jack,” Owens replied. “It’s not an infection…”
“Traitor,” Sullivan snarled.
The shot was devastatingly loud, and Owens stepped backwards looking shocked, stumbling as blood bloomed from the side of his head. Steve reacted without thinking, hand shooting out as Sullivan focused back on El. The gun fired a second time, but the bullet lodged harmlessly in the ceiling as Steve ripped it from the man’s hand. It flew through the air, smacking into his palm.
Sullivan had about a second to look scared, before Eddie leapt over the couch with preternatural speed, taking him down with a snarl. The colonel didn’t stand a chance when faced with a very angry vampire.
Steve had no time to celebrate, however, as the world lurched. He fell to his knees, stomach twisting. The gun was very much bigger than a ball bearing and he had moved it a great deal further. His system made him pay. It was only through sheer force of will he didn’t puke messily all over his mother’s plush rug. Deep shuddering breaths were about all he was capable of.
“Oh shit,” Robin said, on her knees beside him almost instantly.
Her hand on his back was about the only thing not spinning.
“Steve!” El’s desperate cry had him looking up, trying to focus.
There was two of everything, moving alarmingly, but he could make out El leaning over the fallen Owens. He could feel her panic through the remnants of the connection they had yet to completely let go. He could also sense what she could.
“Get me over there,” he forced out through gritted teeth.
“Steve, you can’t,” Robin tried to tell him.
“He’s dying,” he insisted, doing his best to lurch to his feet on his own.
“Fuck. Steve this is bad,” Robin said, but moved to help him anyway.
He fell back to his knees next to Owens, dropping the gun that was still in his hand. The man’s eyes were open and glassy, the thread of his life almost gone where the bullet had passed right through his temple. Steve knew his tanks were almost empty, but he had to try. Owens had put himself between a bullet and El, that deserved at least a chance and had moved the man from reluctant ally to friend in his head.
Reaching out, he placed his hands either side of Owens’ face and he pushed. He let the real world go and he smashed through that invisible barrier with everything he had left. What he found was devastation where the bullet had ripped through Owens’ brain. As his instincts fired, he did the same as he had done for Nancy, holding the man to the flicker of life that remained, as he began to put everything back together.
The voice of warning in his mind was silenced by his overwhelming need. Any limit he had found before was rediscovered and passed as he did what he had to do. The deeper he went, the more unacceptable failure became. There was no halfway with this, it was all or nothing. It was as if his power had a mind of its own and it was in control now. It flooded through Owens’ body, healing all it touched as Steve gave everything he had left.
He was so close to the edge, the energy in his mind’s eye grey and almost transparent. There was still much to do, but he had nothing left. That’s when he felt them, El and Will. His core flared as they shared their own power with him. They had little left either, the food they had consumed barely refuelling them at all, but it was more than he did now, and he could not stop. He could not let Owens go, he had to follow it to the end.
There was no lurching awakening this time, not a gentle one either. Eventually everything simply went black.
~*~
He was warm, comfortable and someone was running their fingers through his hair. For a while Steve let himself enjoy it. Eventually, however, he began to wake up properly. He realised he was lying on one of the couches in the living room, curled on his side, covered in a blanket, with his head pillowed on someone’s lap. Someone familiar, but his brain was in no state to work out who. There was also something uncomfortable about the back of his left hand.
His thoughts were a bit slow to begin with, so he lay there with his eyes slightly open, just waiting for the restart of his brain to finish. It was Dustin who noticed he was no longer asleep, because of course it was.
“Steve,” Dustin asked, much quieter than normal, “are you awake?”
“Kinda trying to figure that out,” he replied and was pleased it made sense even if it was rather slurred.
Dustin gave him a grin.
“Hey, Dingus,” Robin said, hence identifying who he had been sleeping on, “how are you feeling.”
He did her the service of actually thinking about that for a few moments. Not that doing so made anything clearer.
“Fuzzy,” he replied eventually, as he searched him brain for some sort of explanation.
His thoughts were like molasses.
“What happened?” he asked, because he couldn’t remember how he had ended up where he was.
“You were a self-sacrificial idiot,” Robin said, but kept on running her fingers through his hair, so he was pretty sure she wasn’t that mad at him.
He tried hard to recall what had happened.
“Don’t remember,” he admitted.
“You pulled off a miracle.”
That was Eddie’s voice, but it was coming from somewhere behind and to his left and he couldn’t summon up the energy to move.
“Owens,” Robin said, and it all came flooding back.
His nice quiet brain was suddenly very full of nightmare images. Sullivan, the gun, Owens, it all flashed through his head.
“Woah, it’s okay, sssh,” Robin’s voice cut through his sudden panic, and he realised the desperate whine he could hear was coming from him.
Eddie appeared in front of him, crouching right down so they were almost nose to nose, one hand gently touching the side of his face, the other holding something up.
“It’s over,” Eddie said, firmly and calmly, “just breathe for us, sweetheart.”
He did his best, but it was hard as the overwhelming memories flashed through his head. He couldn’t put things in the little box at the back of his mind to think about later as it all hit him at the same time. Eddie was still talking to him, so was Robin, but it was hard to focus.
“Steve, darling, you need to breathe.”
His mother’s voice broke through the confusing panic. He took a huge shuddering breath as basic familial instinct kicked in. Pushing through the mess in his head, he forced himself to open his eyes where he hadn’t even really been aware he had closed them. His mom was crouching in front of him right next to Eddie. He reached out, needing to confirm what his eyes were seeing.
He was not expecting his mother to shy away from his touch.
“Mom?” he gasped out, even as his mother looked utterly torn.
“I’m sorry, darling,” his mom said quickly, “I can’t let you touch me. After you passed out, you reacted very badly to anyone touching you that you hadn’t healed before,” she told him before he could panic again.
“We think you couldn’t shut down your healing, so you were trying to heal everyone of everything with nothing left in the tank,” Eddie added, “but your instincts recognised you didn’t need to with those of us you already fixed.”
“It’s why you’re still on the couch and not somewhere more comfortable,” Robin told him, still gently playing with his hair. “We didn’t want to risk moving you far.”
“El and Will?” he asked, because he definitely remembered what they had done at the end.
“Sleeping soundly in mine and your father’s room,” his mom told him.
“Doctor Owens?” was his next question.
“Perfectly healthy and very grateful,” said a familiar voice from somewhere to the left.
Owens was standing there, blood on his collar and in his hair, but otherwise whole. Steve wasn’t sure whether to laugh or cry as he completely failed to process that properly. Rather than react at all he let his gaze drop down to the hand he had tried to reach out to his mother with. It was only then he noticed there was something taped to the back of it.
“Glucose solution,” Robin said as he frowned at it, following the tube to a bag Eddie was holding.
At least that made sense. Not a lot else did. The panic attack, no matter how brief had robbed him of whatever energy he had recouped.
“Tired,” he mumbled.
“Go back to sleep, darling,” his mom told him with a small smile. “I’ll make sure everyone is fine for you until you wake up.”
His mom knew him so well. Letting his eyes fall closed, he felt the real-world slip away, but far more gently this time. He dreamed of a warm day out by the lake, lying in the sun and relaxing, watching the water ripple, with Robin and Eddie by his side. He thought everyone else might have been there too, but he couldnt see them, just sensing that they were around. It was peaceful.

literally nobody asked for this, but if i’m not bringing half-baked daemon aus to every fandom i’m vaguely in, literally what is the point of me
things to keep in mind:
I literally have the daemon forum open in another tab. this is essentially stream of consciousness. virginia woolf who?
mostly based on livesies if only because that’s the one i’ve seen the most, but there’s some touches of 92sies (aka Sarah Jacobs is here because I love her and it’s pride month, this is my lesbian agenda)
Literally only two characters have canon ages (Jack at 17 and Les at 9). The actors in livesies are obviously a lot older than the actors in 92sies so i’m kinda like. averaging the ages out lmao
that being said, a lot of the kids’ daemons wouldn’t be settled so i think this will just focus on the ones whose would be
also i don’t know the name of all the newsies i didnt get sucked TOO deep into the fandom in 2012 or 2017, so i’m playing catch up like a full decade later, pls be gentle with me
OH ALSO probably no daemon names bc i tend to put a fair amount of research into the names and i don’t have the brain cells for that right now lol
ANYWAY
JACK -- francis “jack kelly” sullivan. loyal, warm, welcoming, protective, friendly, flirty, desperately wants to be selfish but knows in his heart of hearts he can’t. street smart but maybe not too book smart. clever, quick thinker, dreamer (”i can’t spend my whole life dreaming/even thought that’s all i seem inclined to do”)
His daemon’s a blue jay, for sure. look at those core traits:
socially flexible extrovert -- out going, loyal to his boys but still open to new friendships/connections (he looked at davey and went “oh im gonna be his best friend.” was ready and willing to work with the other boroughs during the strike. the charismatic leader who makes everyone feel welcome and listened to
aggressive/confrontational -- my man started a strike. duh.
bold/adventurous -- his whole santa fe thing, wants to DO THINGS. i had more words to say here but they have abandoned me.
resourceful/innovative -- decided to start a strike after, like, 10 seconds of thinking. after flirting with katherine, his whole “today we stopped the scabbers, tomorrow we stop the wagons” speech (i definitely misremembered the first half). though he Does have to be bullied into it, he does know each step the strike needs to take, and knows how to do it even after plan a fails. the whole once and for all/using pulitzer’s own fucking printing press to print the children’s crusade?? c’mon man, who would’ve thought of it
shrewd -- observant!! sees what’s place in front of him and immediately knows how to work with it. looks at his boys and knows immediately what they need!
communicative -- okay, he has A Little trouble with this, but he’s also a 17 year old boy. they’d rather die than communicate. HOWEVER. he goes himself to speak with spot conlon and the brooklyn newsies, aka the most important allies they’ve got. turns davey’s big/expressive words into those the other newsies would understand (jack would’ve explained what auspicious meant. i know he would’ve)
status-orientated -- i’m interpreting this differently than i’m probably meant to. i think he’s more status AWARE. he knows who to go after for the biggest impact. he knows the leaders of the other boroughs and how to sweet talk them. he knows that going after weasel and the delanceys ultimately accomplishes nothing and he has to go straight to the top, etc etc
DAVID -- davey jacobs. one strong breeze away from a panic attack. SO good at hiding it. yknow the song razzle dazzle from chicago, that’s essentially “if you’re really good at making people think you know what you’re doing, they won’t stop to consider you’re full of shit” that’s kinda davey. he’s the most educated of the newsies and uses that to his advantage. talks himself out of trouble, which would be better if he hadn’t talked himself INTO the trouble in the first place. one day, like, 2 years into him being a newsie, race stops and is like “hey. do we even know davey’s favorite color?” is so good at letting people think they know all about him without actually giving away the actual deep knowledge of himself. he’s so tired. he’s not the group mom, he’s the exhausted uncle who was asked to babysit for a day that turned into him adopting the fucking kids.
okay, i’m torn between two, but I think caracal is my ultimate decision (the giant otter shrew was my other choice, if anyone cares)
socially tolerant introvert -- he’ll step forward as the co-leader of the manhattan boys during the strike, but by god is gonna have a panic attack about it later. he understands it’s important, though, that he put the idea in jack’s head and that jack relies on him to be the brains to his brawn. besides, it’s not hard to stand up for the newsies when he genuinely likes the kids (yes, even albert. it surprised him, too). after the strike, he’s perfectly content to let jack go back to sole leader and race back to second-in-command
adaptable -- went from schoolboy to newsie to strike leader in less than 24 hours. he showed up for his first day of selling papes. went to bed. showed up for his second day. saw the prices went up. made the mistake of saying the word “strike” around jack. suddenly is running a strike. and my man Did Not Falter
sensing/aware -- knows exactly what to say to boost the newsies (”seize the day”, anyone?). he can take stock of a situation in, like, .02 seconds and know how to move from there
communicative/expressive -- he’s called the walking mouth. need i say more.
confident/assertive -- during “world will know” he joins jack up on the scaffolding to get the chalk from the guy who writes out the headlines. when jack’s aggressiveness didn’t work, davey stepped up and talked the guy into stepping aside. just because he’s anxious doesn’t mean he doesn’t know how to project confidence (it helps that the newsies all have his back and hype him up)
opportunistic -- like. literally everything that happens. something or someone stumbles, he steps right up and takes over. jack scabs? well, fuck him i’m the leader now. also during “watch what happens (reprise)” when jack is like “joe’s a jerk/he’s a rattlesnake” davey is IMMEDIATE with the “you’re right!/and you know why a snake starts to rattle?” like “oop jackie said something i can use against him! haha!”
focused/patient -- literally wwhr again!! jack is being bitter and refusing to help and davey’s like “well, i’m gonna go win a strike soooo”
a lot of the implied/negotiable traits fit really well too
KATHERINE -- katherine pulitzer plumber. could’ve let her father pave the way to her future, but went and got it for herself. refused to let herself stay in the social pages. hell, she decided she wanted a CAREER and WENT OUT AND GOT IT despite it being 1899!! (”a girl? it’s a girl! how the hell? is that even legal???”). smart as a whip (davey fully believes she’s smarter than him, and he’s right!)
i do kinda like the idea of her having one of those prissy-looking white cats with the long hair, mostly because the kat/kitty jokes would be hilarious. however, katherine herself isn’t prissy, so i ultimately don’t think it’d work.
she would be a black-billed magpie (although i think an argument could be made for black-winged kite)
extroverted/socially flexible -- she’s a reporter, she’s gotta be out there making friends and shaking hands. she’s literally friends with other children of newspaper tycoons AND the newsies. nobody is wrong as a friend
opportunistic/adaptable -- it’s not said How she first hears about the strike, but it’s safe to assume it’s her father. she bursts into jacobi’s deli and is like “hi i’m covering your strike now, good luck getting rid of me.” she saw an opportunity to FINALLY get out of the social pages, and by god is gonna grab it with both hands
confident -- i mean, look at her. katherine knows who she is and what she wants, and she doesn’t really give a shit what everyone else thinks
proactive/short-term planner -- listen. she’s confident, she knows what she wants. i NEVER said she thought out all the steps before hand. she’s just VERY good at making people believe she’s got it all figured out (much like davey)
manipulative -- okay, this is another one where i’m definitely not taking it the way i should. BUT. i mean. she’s a reporter. what reporter hasn’t twisted some words (”a little hyperbole never hurt anyone”)
cooperative -- literally working with a small army of newsies to spread their cause
perceptive -- again. reporter. She Sees All. yknow how moms always convince their kids they have eyes on the back of their head? that’s katherine. mush is convinced she knows when he’s lying. she doesn’t, but he overcompensates for it that it becomes obvious
again, a lot of the inferred and negotiable traits also fit
RACETRACK -- racetrack higgins. this lanky motherfucker. he’s jack’s second in command so i do think he’s one of the older newsies, mayyyybe 16? i think he was only like 13 in 92sies, but meh. canon is a toy box and i’m a destructive toddler. i really like the headcanon going around that he’s a wiz with numbers and just assumes everyone else is too. he’s a bitch (affectionate) and sarcastic and literally doesn’t even sell in manhattan, but he’s ride or die for his boys.
his daemon is a raccoon, and he was furious when he settled (i. did not mean to type he, been having a lot of trouble typing today, but yknow what fuck it race has a male daemon. fuck you thats why) like. “people already see us as literaly garbage, why the fuck did you have to settle as a raccoon are you fucking kidding me?”
independent -- again. his second-in-command of the manhattan newsies, yet sells every day in brooklyn.i cannot for the life of me find it, or even remember Which actor it was, but one of the guys who played race said that he does his own thing and doesn’t keep himself stuck in manhattan (really takes “we goes were we wishes/we as free as fishes” literally)
socially flexible -- again, will make friends with kids from other boroughs (fully unrelated but i have not spelled boroughs correctly once in this post, shoutout to spell check lmao), while still being loyal to manhattan. might be a little in love with a newsie from brooklyn, who knows! not him! definitely doesn’t know that for sure!
conflict-avoidant -- look. he’ll roughhouse with the guys and get in stupid squabbles with other newsies and throw a punch or two when he absolutely has to, but he’s not a fighter. much like davey, he prefers to talk his way out of the trouble he talked himself into. he wasn’t immediately on board with the strike, seemed like a lot of trouble for AT BEST no change
intuitive/curious -- look, a man doesn’t walk across an entire bridge every day because he’s not curious about what’s going on in other places. he’s jack’s eyes and ears, because he’s just a fucking nosy little shit who wants to know everybody’s business
adaptable/opportunistic -- yall sensing a theme here? (”got a feeling ‘bout a headline/i’ll make up a headline/and i’ll say anything i hafta”). after jack scabs and fucks off, he has to step up with davey. really wish there was time in the movie OR musical for a scene about it, but davey needed support and race was right there to help
unambitious -- look. he’s pretty sure he’s only jack’s second because he’s been there the longest. he doesn’t know why jack picked him otherwise. he’s not gunning for leadership, he’s perfectly happy with where he is and what he’s go
SPOT -- sean “spot” conlon (yes i know sean is kinda a fanon name. i like it). the man, the myth, the legend. the reason everyone’s so scared of brooklyn. abrasive, rude, violent, looks out for his boys first and himself second, didn’t beat the shit out of race for selling in his borough.
i typically give assholes with hearts of gold pitbull daemons bc i think it’s funny, but like. pitbulls weren’t considered “bully” breeds in 1899 (i have a rant abt dogs being called “bully” breeds but i’ll keep my mouth shut) and idk what would’ve been. he definitely has a canine though.
this is a bit of a different analysis, because i’m using both the daemon forum AND wikipedia to get the time-appropriate facts, but i’m feeling english bulldog
in historical record, bulldogs were used for bull-baiting (which is insane. these small ass dogs baiting LITERAL BULLS. they really just did Whatever in the past, huh). they were athletic, with powerful jaws, high stamina, and short fuses. modern bulldogs are, uh. a little goofier and decidedly less athletic. poor spot. at least a lot of traditional domestic dog traits still apply
playing fast and loose with the core traits from tdf here, but self-assured/confident -- did yall see “brooklyn’s here”? my man has the cockiest grin i’ve ever seen in my LIFE
stubborn/determined -- sticks to his word of waiting to see if jack would fold before getting brooklyn involved in the strike (and he was right!! jack fucking folded!!). once he makes a decision, he sticks to it. it’s fucking impossible to change his mind (race finds it charming; hotspot finds it makes him wanna bash his head against a wall)
under the overview section on tdf, the “social” and “stress” sections fit very well. while spot has the WORST rb and comes off as cold towards others, he cares DEEPLY abt brooklyn and puts their needs first, no matter what. he’s loyal and caring to those who he claims as His
he’s thick-skinned, adaptable, and willing to forgive jack once jack comes back with a plan and a new fire under his ass
i just processed giving the kid named SPOT a dog daemon. god i’m hilarious.
CRUTCHIE -- Charles “Crutchie” Morris. i honestly don’t know what daemon he’d have!! he’s kind, loyal, understanding, an eternal optimist. he also lets himself get stepped over, lets others take advantage of that kindness. stands up for everybody but his damn self.
WAIT okay actually, i think an african wild dog would be perfect
social extrovert -- he’s so friendly!! he likes making other people smile, he’s always there to hype his friends up, he’ll do whatever and talk to whomever he has to to help his friends
conflict avoidant/passive/tolerant -- look. he talks a big game (”y’see this mister pulitzer?!”) but he knows he’s not a fighter. jack’s the brawn. he’s willing to let bygones be bygones. maybe roughhouse with the guys a bit, but nothing intense or serious
determined/hardworking/ambitious -- people look and talk down to him because of his disability, but he doesn’t let that stop him. he’s out selling every day with jack, he’s right out there with everyone during the strike. he doesn’t let anyone stop him from whatever he sets his mind to
cooperative/caring -- i’m putting these two together because i think, for him, they’re hand in hand. he has a massive heart; he cares SO MUCH and wants his friends -- his family -- to be safe and happy. like i said, he’ll work with whomever he has to in order to insure that happens
people pleaser/doormat -- let crutchie be mean 2023!!!! he’s always looking out for the others, he doesn’t have any left to look out for himself!!!!
uh. this got longer than i thought it would it’s 5 am so i hope this all makes sense and also it’s not gonna get buried away because i’m posting at such an awkward time lmao
F U C K i just realized i didn’t even get to sarah. augh. i’ll inevitably end up making another post abt this bc of what i’m like as a person, so i’ll talk abt her then sorrrrryyyyyyy

Books Into Movies: The Sea Wolf (1941)
First things first ... let me start by saying that this has been one of the hardest posts I've created so far in terms of narrowing down which pictures / videos to use for a Tumblr post. This is a movie that was adapted from a book. One of the main characters is a writer. One of the characters reads a lot of books and finds inspiration in books. Characters discuss books, and there are still shots and loooooong panning shots of books.
In conclusion, there are lots of colorful characters, and lots and LOTS of books.
So, that's why I'm going to be outsourcing a little more than usual, because there was SO MUCH about this movie that I wanted to share, and not enough space to share it!
Okay, so I'll start with a quick overview: This movie was one of many adaptations of this classic story by Jack London, but it's also considered one of the best. It stars Edward G. Robinson as "Wolf" Larsen, the captain of the Ghost, a ship with a very bad reputation. His memorable entrance reveals just how cruel of a man he can be.
Joining Captain Larsen on the ship (some more willingly than others), are Ida Lupino as Ruth Brewster, John Garfield as George Leach, and Alexander Knox as Humphrey Van Weyden. Oh, and I'll give special mention to Barry Fitzgerald as Cooky, the character I most wanted to suffer a terrible demise as quickly as possible.
Humphrey and Ruth wind up on the ship after their boat has an accident and the Ghost's crew rescues them. George joins the crew of the Ghost because he has no other options. Ruth and George are both running from the law, which makes them especially vulnerable.
Everyone has their own reasons for despair, but one thing is for sure: Being on the Ghost is bad luck for everyone.
When Humphrey goes into the captain's quarters, he discovers to his surprise that this cruel brute of a man has quite a library in his cabin. This is important because it creates an uneasy relationship between the captain who loves books, and Humphrey the author who has started writing about his own experiences on the Ghost.
One of the captain's books is a fancy edition of Milton's Paradise Lost, illustrated by Gustav Dore (if you're interested in buying one of these today, you'll discover that they cost A LOT!!!):
And this book has some passages underlined that seem to mean a lot to the captain (these lines will later be yelled back and forth between Humphrey and the captain during their arguments):
Meanwhile, Ruth and George are forming a bond of their own. They both have a criminal history, they're both desperate to escape the Ghost, and most importantly, since a transfusion of his blood saved her life ... could you get any closer than that?
Oh, and because I'm entertained by old Hollywood optics, I would like to point out that while both of them are SUPER-DUPER ATTRACTIVE, George is sweaty but Ruth is not. Because, you know ... ladies don't sweat???
And now, here comes another of my favorite sloooooow panning shots! The crew had enough of the captain ruling over them with an iron fist, so they had a mutiny, which FAILED. This shot shows everyone on board waiting to see what the consequences will be:
Time passes, and things get worse. There are only a few people left on the now-sinking ship. The captain is still consumed with Humphrey's book, and how he will be portrayed in it:
In the end, we're left with our two young lovers on a lifeboat, who just discovered that there was an island on the other side of that fog bank. Thank goodness they're saved!
And thank goodness for foundation, or powder, or whatever Ruth is using to keep looking so lovely:
If you would like to watch the 1941 film version of The Sea Wolf, you can check out the DVD from the New York Public Library, you can rent or buy it online, or you can watch it the next time it airs on TCM!
If you'd like to take a deeper dive into The Sea Wolf, you can also read the original Jack London story and learn about the differences between the book and movie versions!
ETA: Of course, I should probably mention that the trailer for this movie BEGINS AT THE LIBRARY!!!
