Okay but like now that I see this…

I need to add that. Cause Parent Venti is like…a thing in this story and this might add more to his “parental” nature. Kekekdkkdlff

Also, any excuse for me to expand the current found family in my story is a good and valid excuse. :D

Okay on a more serious note, Dvalin’s anger, under these lenses, is very much understandable. Like, what would you do if your parent figure suddenly disappeared on you without a word? Confusion. Fear. Grief. Anger. Yeahhhhhh…

I know it's not as simply cut and dry and I'd like it to be, but we know that Venti found Dvalin just shortly after Dvalin descended. So, like, he was young.

Venti said he used to be a "gentle child" so Venti canonically found and took care of Dvalin since Dvalin was a kid:

And the Abyss used the fact that Venti supposedly abandoned him as the primary way to manipulate Dvalin into their grasp.

The relationship is a layered one, but it's my personal opinion that Dvalin and Venti aren't only friends, but also Venti took a parental role in raising and protecting Dvalin until the day of the battle.

On the same note, we know that Azhdaha existed before Zhongli gave him a dragon's form, so I wouldn't say that Azhdaha is Zhongli's child in the same way.

Zhongli also describes Azhdaha as an equal in strength and a very close friend. He doesn't refer to Azhdaha as a child or having ever been a child at any point.

So Dvalin and Venti are friends and family, and Zhongli and Azhdaha are friends and comrades.

Scrapped Venti Scenes from INAGWAI part 3!

"I can barely take care of myself, Venti. How could I look after others?" You said quietly. He intertwines his hand with yours, pulling it upwards to give your hand a peck.

"God or not, you need to find what you stand for. Just like how I stand for the wind spirits - I will protect Mondstadt's freedom, until my last breath." He responded.

"And how do you suggest I find that?" You countered back.

He smiled cheekily, gesturing to the setting sun in the horizon. "Explore Teyvat. Fully experience what the world has to offer, and hopefully you'll find your reasoning along the way." From the gleam of the sunset, the soft orange lighting did wonders. The Archon looked ethereal. His eyes showed the adoration he held deep within for you. With that loving smile he had on him, he was practically like a blessing from Heaven.

"Okay," You only smiled back and leaned your head against his shoulder. The surrounding wind sprites settled around you and Venti, their soft touches being a source of comfort. You sat in comfortable silence with them until the sun had fully set.

But a certain type of pride swelled within him when he found out that you wanted to follow him. "You're my first friend here," You had said to him. It reminded him that no, he was not only an acolyte. He was something more. That was enough for him. For now.

Venti had taken the responsibility to create a distraction, in full support of your decision to explore Teyvat with Aether. While everyone at Dawn Winery was in a ruckus, You escaped with Kiki, meeting the traveller at the the small alleyway just before the outskirts of the Winery.

Aether held his hand out to you. "Let's get going then, (Y/N)." You smiled and took his hand, intertwining your fingers with his. Kiki bounced ahead, keeping in tune with Paimon's pace.
