The Tennessean reports that nine law enforcement officers shot and killed Landon Eastep on a Tennessee highway on Thursday. In a statement released through attorney Joy Kimbrough, the victim’s widow Chelesy Eastep stated that his death was an “execution.” She said her “very loving” husband liked to go on long walks to clear his head and although he struggled with mental health problems for years, he was harmless.
“I want people to remember that Landon didn’t deserve this. Landon wasn’t a bad guy. He was crying out for help, and his cries went completely unanswered. We know, you know, everybody with eyes knows,” Kimbrough said at a press conference  on Friday. “He was not bothering anyone. He was not obstructing or impeding traffic.”
Tumblr media
Highway Patrol officers reported that they found Eastep on foot on highway I-65 and pulled out their weapons because he allegedly had a box-cutter. Even with the blade, it sounds like he was only a serious threat to himself and maybe some tires on that highway. Instead of subduing Eastep and getting him the mental health care he clearly needed, they shot him an estimated 30 times.
Nine members of law enforcement including Metro Nashville Police Department officers, Tennessee Highway Patrol troopers and an off-duty Mt. Juliet officer opened fire on Eastep.
Tumblr media
On Friday, Nashville Police Chief John Drake announced that he ordered the department to strip Officer Brian Murphy of police authority while the shooting is reviewed by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, or TBI. Murphy is a 25-year veteran of the force who fired the final two shots at Eastep from a rifle. The remaining five Metro Nashville officers who opened fire are on administrative leave.
Drake also ordered the department’s training academy to “reconsider their current law enforcement response. thoroughly examine how our officers positioned themselves in this multi-agency response and as well review the tactics and procedures used in relation to those that we teach.”
Tumblr media
District Attorney Glenn Funk said he reviewed footage of the shooting and will follow the case closely. He plans to take “any appropriate action” once the independent investigation wraps up and then release the full report from TBI.
“As the district attorney, I ended the practice of allowing MNPD to conduct their own investigations of officer-involved shootings. I immediately brought in the TBI and authorized them to conduct a full and impartial investigation of the entire incident,” he said.
Tumblr media
The Nashville chapter of the NAACP showed their support for the Eastep family at the press conference, reminding everyone that they are not only fighting for Black people to get justice. Real justice would be having professionals to call for mental health emergencies who show up with de-escalation training instead of bullets.
“If you are here to protect and serve, that means that you go above and beyond to make sure that those people first are protected. When you are protecting first and you see someone who is actually struggling mentally, as Mr. Eastep was, you go above and beyond, Nashville NAACP President Sheryl Guinn said.
“That’s not what they did, and they do this over and over again. That’s the issue,” she said. “That’s why this is so heartbreaking.”
Our condolences go out to Landon Eastep’s family and loved ones.

Problematic
Hey Everyone,
It’s been forever but I’m back. There are several things I would like to touch up on.
1. School is stressful but I’m doing just fine. I should be done soon.
2. I’m still writing and I’m slowly getting recognized.
3. AND BY FAR THE MOST IMPORTANT so listen up: I am writing this specially now because of everything that’s been happening around in recent time. I saw the video of George Floyd and I was absolutely horrified. Maybe it was hearing him cry for his mother and beg for his life for 8 excruciating minutes. All I know is that a man’s life was taken that day by the MNPD.
One of my friends asked me why this particular video was the straw that broke the unrested Camel’s back? I thought about it and realized that although there have been many times in which we as a society have been exposed to the murders of other black men and women for the crime of existing while being black. However, this video not only showed us a man taking his last breath, but we saw the slow progression and savagery of his death. It was a hard video to see and it was difficult to process because I felt as helpless as the people who filmed it. The cop was proud of what he did and no one came to this man’s aid. I forced myself to watch it, why?
Well, because though this is not my reality as whole, (even though I’m Latina) I cannot begin to fathom how anyone, especially George’s family felt when they saw that video. If I was his mother, I would be utterly inconsolable. But his mother had died 2 years prior to this murder. This was murder, pure and simple.
My heart tore to pieces.
Anyway, the point of me writing this, was because I had previously written a fanfic story called Partition. This story was based on The Hunger Games and I had used the book’s versions of the protagonists. Like the book version, I had chosen Katniss to be a light skinned black girl and Peeta was white.
Now there is no problem with that context. HOWEVER, I decided to delete my story for several reasons.
1. Thinking that I was “woke” enough I thought to use Katniss’ skin color the main point of the story but I misused blackhood. I repeatedly used the N word because I thought it would bring believability to Peeta’s mom who was the antagonist. I know now, that this was not correct. I’m deeply sorry for any hurt I may have caused anyone for my disregard to the painful history of black Americans.
2. Although the antagonists were the only ones who used the words, that does not justify my usage of it as there could’ve been other ways to display other people’s evilness.
3. I stupidly became comfortable with the word because I have heard it being said in my neighborhood by others. However, I am not black and cannot even begin to comprehend what a life is like for a black woman, so that does not justify me getting comfortable with the word. EVER
 4. Black people are not a prop for a story and that is inexcusable. I’m so beyond embarrassed and disgusted with myself for having ever been so blind to the truth.
5. Yes, I am a POC but I don’t always face discrimination and certainly not to the extent of my beautiful black brothers and sisters. Some of my people do and maybe it’s because I’ve lived in a predominantly  mixed neighborhood, I may have thought I had rights that did not belong to me.
6. I am aware of the disservice I have perpetuated in the black community and I am deeply sorry. I am not going to say that I am better because I will strive to continue learning. I will listen, respect, and most of all, protect black people. I have taken some steps as to that and I can say that the fog in which I was walking in is slowly thinning out. I will not ask black people to teach me but rather, I will go out of my way to teach myself as now, I know that it is my responsibility alone.
7. I have taken some classes on African American history and literature and that has helped out a lot. That doesn’t mean I have stopped learning nor will I ever  stop trying to educate myself.
8. The word black is not a bad word. In fact, it is a shade, fluid and beautiful.
9. Although I will always advocate for peace, I understand the frustrations of the riots. Which by the way, were exacerbated by the police and our politicians. If you’re more worried about a fucking target than people’s lives then you can go fuck yourself all the way the fuck away from me. IDGAF how peaceful you think you are. Black people have been trying to protest in the best way and options you’ve given them. They ran out of those options, so I guess it’s tea throwing over the harbor time. (if your answer to their complaints is but... you can also go fuck yourself!)
10. People are protesting for their lives. They’re not running up the steps of a government building with firearms and yelling at the police because they want to go to restaurants and get haircuts. Blackhood is not an inconvenience, masks are, so if you think otherwise, seriously just unfollow me because I don’t plan on changing my mind.
Finally, All racists who have no problem with how the orange in chief or the police are handling the situation are hereby fucking cancelled for fucking ever. I don’t give a flying fuck if I lose readers in the future. I am not interested in writing for the sake of whoring my work and self to twats who cannot begin to understand and then judge what it’s like to be a person of color.
All in all, I just want to say I’m so sorry. I am ashamed of myself and I will strive to do and be better. I will raise my voice for black people because I do believe that BLACK LIVES MATTER.
On another note, I will be deleting everything that has to do with that story including the banner. There will be no more attempts on my end to continue such a story ever again. Hopefully, you can forgive me and give me another chance to be who I really want to be for the sake of others.

'This was a ruse to get police to the house.' Metro Officer shot in 'setup' at South Nashville home NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A Metro Nashville Police officer was injured while responding to a reported active shooter at a home in South Nashville. But police say it was a “setup” and when officers arrived the suspect opened fire on officers. Police and fire crews were called to the 7200 block of Sugarloaf Drive for a report from a man claiming his brother had shot his mother and that the gunfire was continuing. Three officers knocked on the door, but when they began to enter the home, the caller opened fire, injuring Officer Brian Sherman, according to MNPD Spokesman Don Aaron. MNPD Officer Brian Sherman Officers retreated from the home. The gunman, 22-year-old Salman Mohamed, followed them outside. Aaron says officers attempted negotiations with him, but they failed. Mohamed died when he shot himself in the driveway of the home. No officers fired their weapons during the incident, according to Aaron. “We believe the person who made the 911 call was Mohamed himself. In fact, on the 911 call, you can hear him saying that he’s scared that shots are continuing to be fired. Hurry, hurry, please get here in a hurry. It was all a ruse to get the police officers to this scene,” said Aaron during a press briefing. Aaron said Mohamed’s mother and three siblings were in the home, but no one was injured nor were any other shots fired as he initially reported. “Mohammed’s motives for this, have not been determined. Obviously, we’ll be talking to his family throughout the evening, to try to resolve, why he did this,” said Aaron. “Again, no one else in the home was hit. This was a ruse or a setup to get the police to come to the house, and as soon as the officers knocked on the door, the door was opened, and they came under fire by Mohammed.” Officer Sherman was shot in his left arm. During the initial response, medics were able to get to him and transport him to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He was released from the hospital late Tuesday night. window.fbAsyncInit = function() FB.init( appId : '1627742844167003', xfbml : true, version : 'v2.9' ); ; (function(d, s, id) var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "http://connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js"; js.async = true; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs); (document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk')); Source link Orbem News #home #House #Metro #metroofficer #Nashville #Officer #officerinjured #Police #ruse #setup #shooting #shot #South

I tried out an MNPD (malignant narcissistic personality disorder) technique I recently learned from the therapy book on dad last night.
It worked better than anything else I've tried and I feel as good as I can about the interaction.
MNPD thrive off attention - negative or positive - so the best thing to do is give them the very least amount of attention you can.
I was doing something when he tried to interrupt me (MNPD will purposely ALWAYS catch you when you're busy).
I kept my eyes on what I was doing, showed no emotion whatsoever, took a while responding, and when he did his stupid too low talking because he wants me to feel stupid and need clarification, I made him wait while I did more of what I was doing and finally said "oh did you say something?"
He spoke up clearly, asked a real question, didn't insult me or make stupid comments, and patiently waited for my response. 😱
When I finally responded to the question, he shut up and left the room! That's always the goal is for him to leave as quickly as possible and he has NEVER left so soon like that 🥳
I didn't feel manipulated after he left and I didn't have the burning anger either. I consider that a big win!
MNPD want all their stuff to matter to you (even though nothing of yours matters to them so if you're dismissive or focusing on something else, they don't get their fix.
Every interaction with them is a game on their end, and I've fought playing games back for years (because playing games with people is sick) but it's necessary with MNPD so recently I decided okay I'll play if it means I get as little interaction as possible and I don't feel like shit every time.
I doubt this would have worked a few years ago before he was on medication and before he was actually scared of me and weak physically himself but it works now and I'm really excited!!
Tumblr media
Bonus: My mom was in the room watching TV and afterwards told me she was so excited that she had to hide her face so he wouldn't see her gleefully grinning because she said I pulled off the technique perfectly and now she wants to try it 😂

Police find more than 6,600 heroin pills disguised as Oxycodone in international drug bust
NASHVILLE — Police seized thousands of heroin pills made to look like a Oxycodone in a drug bust.
The bust was the result of an investigation into 33-year-old Kingsley Acheampong and his business, Kings Crown Auto Repair in Madison, according to a report from WTVF.
Metro Nashville Police officials say the more than 6,600 pills were made with the same markings of the painkiller Oxycodone.
Investigators found that the shipments of illegal drugs were being sent to the business on Old Hickory Boulevard from Mexico.
They’re the same type of pills that have been responsible for overdose deaths across the country. The victims take the pills believing they’re Oxycodone and are not used to the potency of heroin-laced tablets.
In addition to the 6,668 blue pills detectives found 2.5 pounds of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and five guns, four of which were stolen (two in Nashville home burglaries, one in a pawnshop robbery, and one from Henry County).
Acheampong was charged with possession of heroin and marijuana for resale, unlawful gun possession by a convicted felon (Acheampong has a felony drug conviction in Virginia), and possession of drug paraphernalia. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $35,000, which he posted.
U.S. Homeland Security Investigations assisted the MNPD in this case.

Gov-auctions.org - #1 Government & Seized Auto Auctions. Cars 95% Off!
Students across America protested gun violence in schools Wednesday in response to February’s deadly Parkland, FL, shooting. While most protests were peaceful, video captured in Tennessee shows a wild scene at Antioch High School. WSMV reports that Antioch High School’s protest turned violent when students tore down the American flag and brawled, while WKRN adds that students threw water bottles into the crowd and jumped on a police car before eventually being stopped by teachers. Metro Nashville Public Schools released the following statement regarding Wednesday’s events: At MNPS, we respect the right of our students to advocate for causes that are important to them. Unfortunately, some students on our Antioch campus today chose to protest in ways that significantly disrupted school operations and threatened the safety and order for other students and staff within our school. Swift action was taken by school security and MNPD to address the situation. No students or staff members were injured during the walkout. The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. Inappropriate behaviors that threaten school safety will be handled immediately and firmly in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and MNPD. We understand that our students may be feeling lots of emotions,

Oh and an update! Because he didn't suck enough already.
He just now came into my room and said "I didn't really drink any of it yet. I just wanted to see if it would freak you out."
This is nothing new with him. Mindgames constantly. He was stupid enough to take the water into his room without paying attention to the packaging, but hadn't actually drank any yet.
With the help of therapy and other people who know how to deal with MNPD (malignant narcissistic personality disorder), I'm learning how to respond so...
My response was "Oh I wasn't worried" and went back to what I was doing.
The less emotion you put into things and the less you let people with MNPD cause events, the less damage they cause and the less they get out of the interaction.
I had already looked up the ingredients to see if he needed a hospital visit, but I didn't tell him I did that. He doesn't need to know I wasted time looking something up for his benefit.
dad: hey thanks for getting me more water!
me: what water?
dad: the water you left for me on the living room table
me: that's not yours. DO NOT drink that.
dad: why?
me: it's distilled water.
dad: is there something wrong with that?
me: besides distilled water not being good for humans to drink regularly, this water is specifically fortified for carnivorous plants. with fertilizer.
dad: ... okay?
me: humans can't drink it. that's what it says on the packaging.
dad: oh. i already drank about 1/4 gallon of it.
me: i guess i get to look up all the ingredients and see if you need to go to the hospital
- It boggles my mind that men of his age and disposition surround themselves with enough people to take care of them that they can make it to 80 years old without dying or severely injuring themselves.
BTW the water was in completely different containers than the drinking water I get him, I never put his water on the living room table, and I always tell him when I've gotten him more of his water.
Unfortunately for me and my mom, he didn't drink enough to ☠️
