now that i have your attention, i will now go in depth about this idea of mine since this is what tumblr is made for

Since all the monkeys were born from a stone I don’t think they had genitalia, of course they could pee and everything but there’s only a hole. The only way to change that is to shape shift their lower parts to anything they associate their gender with. Also they might be specific monkeys but they don’t even have any way to show that they’re male or female, I mean monkey king and macaque have eye lashes. 

So when Mk was found Pigsy couldn’t tell what gender he was, so he assumed Mk was a little boy. He had short hair and masculine features but it was still hard to tell because he was a little kid, most little kids are hard to tell what gender they are unless their parents told you. They all look unisex until like 6 or 7. And Hc Mk was 5 when Pigsy found him.

So after eventually taking him to a doctor, to everyone’s surprise Mk had mostly feminine hormones and features from the tests showed by doctors. So from then on Mk was perceived as a girl for the majority of his younger years of his childhood. It wasn’t until he was 10 he confronted tang and Pigsy, saying he wasn’t happy after being called a girl since his first medical visit. 

After a long conversation everyone agreed that Mk should be who he wants to be, so he started going by Mk until his legal name was changed. Eventually the nickname stuck even after his real name officially changed. Once in his teen years he started talking testosterone after saving up since the first conversation about his gender with his family. He couldn’t afford gender reassignment surgery which he didn’t want because it sounded terrifying.

I thought about his dead name as well, before being officially adopted he didn’t have a name, they just called him kid. But after his first doctors visit they gave him the name Qi Xiaowen (齐晓文), meaning little morning cloud. Which gave him inspiration for his current name Qi xiaotian, (齐小天) meaning together little sky. Also since his name is similar to monkey king’s mandarin name he also picked it from him using some of the characters to be like his idol.

and thus that is my overdramatic statement on my “Mk is intersex and Trans” head canon. Could even be a theory. If you liked it I plan on posting here a lot so you will see more of me

Do you know all of Sun Wukong's children? I understand that King Paramita is Lady Iron Fan's son with Wukong(?). and that Yuebei Xing and her brothers are maybe children of Taiyin xing (the theory). Obviously I understand that they are not like something canon, however, it is interesting to know about them.

I can’t say that I do know every iteration that Wukong has kids but I can try to make a list of what I got at least! There are the non-canon kids of Sun Wukong that I know of at least right now. I'm sure there is more but these are the ones I know from media at the moment.

MK THEORY

Season 4 has let me think a lot of things about MK since they have shown his monkey form... well, I have another theory for you.

In season 4, episode 7, MK is hinted and later revealed to be a monkey, let it be mystical monkey, and I have a theory of who he might be (or inspired by)

Sun Luzhen from Later Journey to the West, a Ming Dynasty novel.

Sun Luzhen, in the novel, is a monkey born from a stone who eventually is the disciple of Sun Wukong.

I have my reasons onto why MK can be Sun Luzhen or inspired by Sun Luzhen, whether it is intended or not by the writers.

MK's name in the mandarin/taiwanese dub

孙小圣 (Sun xiaosheng) is a name Sun Luzhen is often referred to, as well as 齐天小圣 qitian xiaosheng (Small Sage Equal to Heaven)

What is MK's chinese dub name? 齐小天 (qi xiaotian)

Did you make the connection?

In the novel, he repeated all the patterns Sun Wukong did in Journey to The West (overtook heaven, ate +6 things that made him immortal...) and at the end, Sun Wukong puts him the same circlet he had in the journey.

What if in season 5, MK is destined to suffer the same fate as Sun Wukong? The circlet...

Anyway, this is just a theory, but I can't stop thinking about the possibilities

Alkdmclsdlcoklcold not technically? In the original Mandarin his name is actually 齐小天 (Qi Xiaotian) which basically means Together Little Heaven. The characters are all from Sun Wukong's title "The Great Sage Equal to Heaven" They turned it into MK for other countries.

Fun fact! They did the same with Mei. Her original name is 龙小娇 (Long Xiaojiao) which means Dragon Little Lovely.

i don't know if you're the right person to ask, sorry if not! but could you please give me the proper names of the lmk crew? i'm writing a comic script for my au and it feels wrong writing the western names when i call xiaotian and xiaojiau by their chinese names.

well, "proper" isnt really a good word to use since the english version is the og n therefore anythin u hear There IS technically the Proper Version, but i gotcha ya drift

Tang = 唐师傅/师父 [Táng shīfù/shīfu] (first name unknown, the two shifus r basically the "mister") Sandy = 沙大力 Shā Dàlì Monkey King = 孙悟空 [Sūn Wùkōng] (it is important to address him by the full name or one of his titles/titles + last name. the Sūn is read as S-uh-n, btw, not sun the star) Macaque = 六耳猕猴 [Liù'ěr míhóu] (meaning six eared macaque- the "six ear" part of his name is usually used more often as a name for him from what I've seen if not the entire thing, idk why LMK rather goes with "macaque"] Lady Bone Demon = 白骨精/夫人 [Báigǔjīng/fūrén] (meaning White Bone Spirit/Lady)

Sometimes some of the elder peeps refer to each other as "老 [lǎo] + [last name]", that basically happens between equals of age, if I understand that right. Xiaojiao could call Xiaotian "lao Qi" if she wanted, basically (i THINK). Xiaojiao and Xiaotian refer to Sha Dali as Dàlì gē (gē means elder brother)

Everyone else is just basically a translation between the languages. With Bull Demon King, the Bull comes before the Demon in the mandarin version of the name. I sometimes refer to Princess Iron Fan as Rākṣasi cuz the translation of the book I have did so, but Rākṣasi basically means "female man-eating demon" from hinduism (n some other religions). Still, it was kinda used like Her Specific Name in the book so I kinda treat it as such

Spider Queen is called "spider spirit", the fish guy from s3e3 is "gold fish spirit", the scorpion demon is "scorpion spirit" n so on

This will sound very stupid, but I heard someone say that Xiao is more like referring to young people and that is the case of Mei and MK, so the chinese names of MK and Mei will no longer have Xiao when we say they are more adults? Does that also include other characters in Chinese media who have the word Xiao in their names?

It is not stupid! And while you kinda have an idea it isn't quite like that.

It is better to think of it like a nickname. Kinda like how younger children could have shorter versions of their names, similar like Robert = Bobby, Micheal = Mikey, or Stewart = Stu. Or rather like in Spanish names there are like Laura = Lauita, Alberto =＞ Albertito, Julio = Julito. Like these are not their 'official' names and there isn't really a certain point that a person grows out of being called an affectionate nickname (esp if it's by their parents or older relatives) but they are to be considered using it less when they are more adults.

As for Xiaotian and Xiaolong I can't say for sure if these are their real names (probably) or if these are nicknames similar to how MK is a nickname as well (standing for Monkie Kid). I'm not terribly familiar if Xiao is more of a common given name as I'm more used to hearing it as a term of endearment. I have seen some people like saying it like name a child 'Jr.' but I'm not sure if that is a fair comparison either.

I've only seen one other piece where like it's a real name and it was Xiaosheng (Little Sage) in like another xiouyji movie and that was pretty cute. He had to fight against Xiaopeng (little Peng) the son of the Golden Wing Peng. Very much like Jr. in this case. More often it was just nicknames to kids or adults by their elders.

In Lmk I can't say for certain if these are their like official names or like their official nicknames as I have no reason to think either really.

This could be that MK is saying that has been his nickname since childhood and perhaps he is starting to go by something else. Or that this is just a wink at his new hero title "Monkie Kid." I cannot say really but you can take that as you will! Someone also had a similar question on Quora so you can see other people's answers that I think help clear up different perseptives.
