Have you ever hated a player so much that you wanted Gog to nuke-breath them? See, I sent this one guy flying because he thought he was being funny by kicking my buddy, who was on artillery duty, around. While he was mid-air, Gog nearly got him with his Nuke-breath.

What a jerk. Was this a random? Who do they think they are? Rude, that’s what. Let them be nuked!

Ho there Hunters! I'm a bit of a newbie charge blade user on MH4 and I was wondering if you knew any tips or recommended sets for taking on the Gore Magala? I've reached the point where both the caravan and guild missions need me to take one out but I've just hit a wall against it. My primary weapons are the Guardsqual, Kaiser Blade and Dear Lutemis. Thanks for any help you can give 😊

You can check meetup.com or the site listed by the previous post. I’m quite sure there has to be meetups for you. If you’re lucky, someone might see this post and ask you to join...

I really, really like monster hunter, but I'm starting to feel like I can't play it. No matter how hard I try to learn monsters' behavior patterns, I can never read them or process what's happening and the next thing I know I'm getting knocked around and carted. Do you have any tips or motivation? I really don't want to just give up....

The best thing to do here is to stop playing for a while. In this game, taking a break does more good than you think. Your brain gets a rest and you can come back fully ready to hunt. You’d be surprised how much taking a week off from playing helps your play style because you have time to process this information.

Relax, hunter. It will do some good.

So I've been bashing my way through mh4u, doing everything solo, because i'm straight up terrified of going online and screwin things up for people/messing up. so to turn this into a question, is the community in general likely to explain that if i'd zigged instead of zagging, things would go better, or are they more likely to go "omfg you zagged!! *instakick*" ?

Don’t be afraid. There’s a difference between placing a bomb when the monster is knocked over right in the line of everyone’s attack blowing everyone up up and away, and tripping someone then moving away so you don’t do it again.

You’re going to bump into people that are going to over do it and kick you for that. Most of us will be happy with someone considerate, which you seem to be. If you’re that unsure, you can always host your own room and post on Tumblr asking for help. This might be more comfortable for you.

I think MHX is part of the main series due to its implied content and flagships. But who knows.

I was thinking about this the other day. You know how when a monster overcomes the frenzy virus it's called an Apex monster? Does that mean when we do it we become APEX HUNTERS?

what the fast why to kill the akantor

Well, if it means anything, it’s weak to thunder, but I’m sure everyone can add on tactics that suit them best. I haven’t gotten to fight it yet.

Not die is a first. No seriously Akantor hits like a truck and you can get carted if you’re not careful, and rebuffing yourself in camp wastes precious seconds where you could have potentially done damage to him.

Other than that, Akantor/Ukanlos is pretty much “Hit-It-Until-it dies.” Just treat it as if you are fighting a really huge but slow tigrex, because thats really all Akantor is. Although thanks to his massive size, it might not be a great idea sometimes to go only for his head (despite how big his head is, seriously, you cant miss since the head area is so big) because unlike tigrex hes wide as hell so might not be able to roll out of the way after a strike to the head.

High Grade Earplugs is a god send against him if you have it simply because while you might avoid the shockwave from his roar, you might not avoid the roar from stunning you. Having HGE lets you get a ton of hit(s) on him while he roars (also if you have a hammer/greatsword/etc, its massive opening for his face when he lowers himself back down to the ground after a roar).

I've been having issues capturing and I was hoping you'd be able to help. Monsters are running over my shock traps and it's wasting my traps. Not sure if I'm forgetting something or if this is an actual issue. Help?

Some monsters are immune to shock traps, like fully charged Zin. Some monsters in rage mode break traps in an instant. Prime examples are Deviljho, Rajang, and Yian Garuga. Small monsters can not be captured. Elder dragons and apex monsters can not be captured.

Depending on what you’re going to catch, you might need a pitfall trap. Like other people said, you might need to actually look it up to see who’s immune to who. It’s not you, don’t worry.

I've been wondering about the charge blade; what's the best way to cut tails with it? Should I use phials? Axe's 'X' attack? Sword combo?

According to my friend, his advice is…

Axe’s x attack is the best, the overhead, but not the launcher. If you press a after x, you’ll do a double spinning strike that’s really good for tails.And if you press a again, you’ll go into the phial burst.Excellent for punishing downed monsters.

EDIT: I missread him, the phials don’t do cutting damage, heh. If anyone else has a say, feel free to comment.

Well I’m HR4, Meoark is HR4, and Intersect is HR128.

Any tips for grinding Rustshards in MH4U? It's been more then 6 hours and I still haven't gotten a rusted hammer, this is way worse then its been in previous games ;3;

Good thing I can’t play right now, because I am not keen to internally crying. Anyone have any advice?
