This is going to be my disclaimer post for book reviews.
When I talk about things I like and don’t like, it’s not in broad terms of judgement on those things or the people who do like them. I am speaking very small, for myself and myself only.
For instance, when I say I don’t want to read smut it’s not because I think sex is a dirty horrible thing and the people who read it are sinners, and I don’t think I’m intellectually superior for not reading it. It’s because I have a trauma, I’m demi/grey sexual, and I’m just not comfortable with it. That is ok.
We don’t have to like everything. When I say I don’t like something it’s not a commentary on that thing or the people who do like it. Think of it as simple and nonconsequential as me saying I don’t like asparagus. Who cares? Who cares if I don’t like vampires, supernatural things or high fantasy? It literally has no impact on anything.
I don’t like to talk at length about things I don’t like, and I don’t like to be mean in reviews either.
So I’ll let you know what I am and am not into so you won’t find yourself disappointed or waiting around for a genre or book I’m not likely to read.
Not into:
Vampires
Werewolves
Demons
Supernatural themes
Witches
Wizards
High magic
High fantasy
Smut
What I am into:
YA
Dystopia
Scifi
Aliens
Monsters
Space travel
Comedy
Drama

What interesting classic cars have you found when browsing the classifieds and were you surprised at any obscure ones? via /r/cars
What interesting classic cars have you found when browsing the classifieds and were you surprised at any obscure ones?
On Gumtree, I found this restored 1963 MGB MkI roadster with only 373 miles going for $22,000 AUD [$17,612 USD / £12,677 GBP].
£13k for a car that's 55 years old - surely it's worth more than that due to low mileage?
On the same site, I also found a 1971 Holden Torana LC with only 48 miles on the odometer, going for $14,410 USD [$18,000 AUD].
The blue color looks particularly good too. I like the Torana, had forgotten about it for years, I wish they'd make a modern-day reinterpretation of it [even if has to be built in the U.S. or China now due to Holden closing their Australian assembly plants].
Then there's this last-of-line 1979 Morris Marina MkII 1700 stationwagon in New Zealand, from the pre-Honda New Zealand days when NZMC sold Rover and Honda, going for $2,000 NZD [$1,459 USD].
The Morris/Austin Marina is almost forgotten nowadays, and hardly any survive over here.
With 120,000 km [74,565 miles], it still looks good for its age, but has some rust, and has the distinctive wheelcovers not found on any other British Leyland vehicle at the time.
These British classics were fairly interesting - on autotrader.co.uk over here you won't find any, if at all, for an MGB or Marina sedan.
If I was a millionaire and could have cars for my collection [as has been discussed before], I'd probably have all three - the MGB would be a good track car, probably, for a more leisurely drive, although modifying the Torana for speed?
I would be interested to know what you found, and whether, if you were a millionaire, you'd add them to your collection.
