god youre so confusing to me. whats your purpose, where did you come from. blabbering more under

from a lore standpoint, i am still very confused on what eclipse is. described as yin and yang by kellen but you have to actively push moon back.. ? never seen again, never was mentioned (and i know he's fan service but there has to be lore SOMEWHERE about him) i currently see them as the ai that was supposed to replace sun and moons theatrics. but again as described in the books, it ended up being too expensive. sun and moon are already neglected, so eclipse being pushed behind a reboot and then never getting it sounds right to me

he is the PERFECT version of the two. he's like their safe mode. him never being rebooted would explain why he isnt mentioned anywhere because he never had a chance to even exist properly. in his intro you can see him glance around slightly before focusing back on cassie

the daycare is practically new to him, he doesnt know that the place is abandoned hence the "this place will be flooding with kids," he was dorment for so long / under false assumptions, cleaning for no one to save him. regardless if he's in or out, he's always alone in the end made to be immediately locked away, and when finally free, his purpose is meaningless. an audience of deaf ears

relistening to what happened with the Ishmael wetsuit thing really just makes you hate misinformation, because so many people quit for no reason in the end. especially since it's been a while since we've learned that the artist quit- she wasn't fired. she quit because she didn't want to get harassed nor project moon to get harassed further,, she got given a lot as she left from project moon. go support her but gods damn guys,,, biases in translations are very real,, especially when one of the parties involved literally wanted to take OVER the company then illegally released documents the artist did not want to get out because she would get targeted further.

God, the most recent ep with like. Eclipse's communication limitations on full display. My man lacks the vocabulary and self-reflection needed to be able to express himself, all he knows is how to pick fights with others.

And I'm glad! Lunar got to see that! That he's grown a lot while Eclipse is stuck going in circles, and its kind of pathetic really-- but Lunar didn't take advantage of that by rubbing Eclipse's face in it. He even offered the advice of "hey maybe don't be so hard on yourself".

RIGHT THE MAN WAS JUST out there trying to insult and deflect and BE a jerk, either to avoid or jsut didnt know how to communicate otherwise AND LUNAR GOT IT. FINALLY. Realizing exacttly what was wrong with his 'brother'. And yeah just didnt rub it in his face just handled it with 'alright man. you do you. ur still a person' Loving this episode and clarity of situations

My Best of 2023: Director

My Best of 2023 is a series of annual lists in which I pick the best of the best from 2023, all leading up to my official picks for My Top 10 Films of 2023.

I think 2023 was just a weird year for me. Here's another list where I kinda just got lost after the Top 5 or so, and tossed the rest in all willy-nilly. There's some really great work on display here, though. Nolan outdoes himself with Oppenheimer, taking a 3-hour prestige biopic/courtroom drama and turning it into a heart-racing, disquieting philosophical horror film. While I have major issues with the film as a whole, it's undeniable that Scorsese's directorial work on Killers of the Flower Moon is as patient and angry as it is bold and technically amazing. Lanthimos takes the world of Gray's book and turns Poor Things into a visually stunning, brilliantly acted coming-of-age fever-dream. Gerwig understands the core of what Barbie is, and through this understanding was able to deliver a singular piece of cinema that both skewered and celebrated the universal symbol that is Barbie. Glazer patiently and unflinchingly studies the banality of evil in the devastatingly haunting The Zone of Interest. Wes knocks another one out of the solar system with the hilariously weird Asteroid City. Sofia Coppola once again showcases her unmatched understanding of the weight of celebrity with the damning Priscilla. Fincher nails the philosophical complexities of The Killer with his emotionally detached technical prowess. Triet's cinéma vérité approach to Anatomy of a Fall explores the intricacies of the truth in a manner as neutral as it is intellectually riveting. And Mann's balance between the intimacies of the personal drama and technical precision of the racing sequences carries Ferrari across the finish line.

Something that always stuck with me is the part of Wanda’s story where Thessaly doesn’t include her in the moon ritual. On a recent reread of it, I felt that it was a part of the story that could get some interesting updates when it is put on the Netflix show. Anyway, this card is kind of my play on that, specifically that both these women are of the moon.
