New Medicom/MAFEX Astro Boy figure to be released in October/November 2021

A new Astro Boy plastic figure with interchangeable parts will be released by figure company Medicom/MAFEX in October or November 2021. It has the name “Astro Boy MAFEX No.145 Astro Boy (Ver. 1.5)” [ マフェックス No.145 MAFEX 鉄腕アトム Ver.1.5 ]. It is an updated version of a similar Astro Boy figure which was released by the same company in 2018.

The figure stands at 16 centimeters tall (6.3 inches) and has multiple parts which can be switched out which include 3 face sculpts, 2 pairs of hands, eye searchlight beams, rocket boot effects, rear rocket effects, and an open chest piece.

Pre-order prices look to be fairly pricey: Amazon Japan lists the figure at 8,186 yen, and the Big Bad Toy Store lists the figure at $94.99.

I'm looking to buy a MAFEX No.145 Astro Boy Ver.1.5.

I already found a seller in the Philippines but am still trying to get a copy at preorder price. My usual source failed to tell me that their supplier didn't send them any copies despite the fact I placed a preorder and paid the deposit in a timely manner. If I hadn't inquired about the delay after MORE THAN A YEAR OF WAITING, I would never have known this issue existed. They say that they're waiting for an update from their supplier, but that was WEEKS ago. I am losing faith that they will come through for me. Sorry for the rant, I just needed to vent 🥺
