I had one recently where M30YL Knuckles met "K'Nox" from Penders' Lara-Su Chronicles and they both had an existential crisis while Julie-Su and Lara-Su just watched. Also Archie Geoffrey was arguing in the background with LSC Geoffrey over who knows what.

I don't know if you read the 30 years later story arc, but I think it's pretty good. I always wondered since Lara-Su was interested in learning Sonic's spindash, if she eventually learned it after the arc.

i have read it! i actually have m30yl in print-- you know those books that collected a whole arc?

i haven't read it in a while, so i can't comment on the quality of the arc right now, but i did enjoy it as a kid :) lara su is a neat character. queen of being a child of a common-law marriage

This may be super biased but I don’t get why the m30yl gets so much hate. I understand why someone may not care for it but it wasn’t that bad and isn’t even considered a canon future so it’s a bit baffling to me that people will go out of their way to say how much they hated it

(LONG POST) Setting the scene: The Fate of Metal Sonic...

Hey, hey, people, N.G here! I promised you fanfics and some loredumps for my MXYL AU, and here’s the first of them! My take on what Metal Sonic’s been doing in MXYL, or rather, what he hasn’t!

One of the game-changing moves that set the stage for Shadow's ascension as Mobius' power-hungry reluctant tyrant saviour was Eggman's untimely demise at the hands of Chaos Knuckles. Penders never expanded upon it, while Flynn just said Shadow stopped Knuckles instead of Sonic in the altered Light Mobius timeline and left it at that.

But what of Eggmans mechanical armies?

I figure that the final confrontation with Eggman would’ve taken place at Robotropolis, with Knuckles in his out-of-control Chaos form destroying the vast majority of Eggman’s robotic forces and their production facilities. Shadow left Robotropolis as-is, an abandoned husk of the once-great Eggman Empire.

Surviving badniks and other Eggman robots? Destroyed. Shard too. So much for that title, eh? Here’s where I pull a fast one on you.

Metal Sonic survives. Of course he does, he’s Eggman’s masterpiece, a robotic doppelganger capable of matching Sonic (and thus Shadow), copying others’ abilities in his Neo-form, and an all-around wind of destruction!

Initially a persistent disruption to Shadow’s attempt to conquer Mobius, Shadow would eventually get the jump on the mechanical marvel, ambushing Metal and taking him out as a threat. The sensible thing to do from there would be to permanently offline Shadow, remove the threat permanently, but that’s just not Shadow’s style.

Why get rid of a potential weapon, especially when it could prove useful in the future?

As far as the wider public was aware, Metal Sonic was destroyed, and brutally so, dismembered by Shadow piece by piece. A half-truth - Shard suffered such an unfortunate fate at Lien-Da’s hands, his remains powder-coated a deep blue to provide ‘proof’ for the propagandists.

In secret, however, Shadow had Lien-Da’s technicians work to restore Metal Sonic to some degree of working condition, before imprisoning Metal in the Castle Mobius catacombs inside a containment chamber designed just for him. Metal was still sentient and ultimately loyal to Eggman, after all, a weapon of last resort to be unleashed upon Shadow’s enemies when circumstances were dire.

Speaking of last resorts...

Tikal’s destruction of Castle Mobius, decades later, had the unfortunate by-product of freeing Metal from his chains, the plucky mechanical menace using the opportunity to slink away to freedom! But where would he go, now that the Eggman was no more and his empire absorbed by Shadow’s, and subsequently dismembered by Sally?

Battered and his combat systems disabled, to say Metal Sonic had been debilitated during his captivity would be an understatement. At least Shadow kept his joints lubricated and in working order once every few months, under Sally’s rule he’d been completely forgotten about! How was he to know that the world, including Sonic, believed him offline?

His turbine still functioned, albeit weakly, but it was enough to get him off Angel Island. His destination - home, Robotropolis. The flight time estimated to be several hours, that was no issue, it allowed ample time to patch into MobiusNet and absorb three decades worth of information he had been denied. It allowed ample time to start planning for his return, for the continuation of the Eggman’s legacy.

Touching down in Robotropolis a day later, Eggman’s prodigal son was met with the robotic equivalent of a massacre. Robotropolis itself was rent asunder, the aftermath of Knuckles’ fateful showdown with Eggman, and its once mirror-polished streets were littered with the rusting husks of destroyed badniks and eggrobos, left at the mercy of the elements for three decades.

Shuffling towards the site of Eggman’s former Robotropolis headquarters, Metal Sonic’s internally-calculated confidence intervals of locating any survivors was dropping. Logarithmically.

Regardless, he opened broadcasts on every Egg-Empire frequency, broadcasting a forced status-update command. Any units within the receiving range would have to respond, they were programmed to do so. Desperate times called for desperate measures, yet for the whole thirty-two minutes it had taken to traverse the abandoned warzone to the foot of the Robotropolis Egg-Quarters tower, not a single response.

Confidence interval nearing the threshold for rejecting the null hypothesis of there being survivors, Metal’s internal algorithms were close to ceasing the search, until...

“You’re late. Tardy. Long-overdue,” a voice message sent through the Grandmaster communications protocol, followed by a pause. “We have much to do.”

A voice message Metal immediately traced back to a ground-floor terminal within the Egg-Quarters. A low-level networking terminal, rather than from any known Grandmasters. A terminal that was now the last refuge of a certain AI.

Phage.

So that’s where Metal Sonic is at currently in my fan-continuation. He’s linked up with Phage, the sole survivor of the Egg-Empire’s destruction by virtue of surviving on the barely-intact intranet.

I haven’t had much planned out for these two, but I definitely have a good idea of how their interactions will be. Think of it like Masterchief and Cortana/The Weapon - not the relationship dynamic, but the physical nature of her being downloaded onto M.C’s armour. Likewise, Phage will be Metal’s on-board AI ‘companion’ for the early days as they both scrape by.

MXYL really did away with most of the villains by making Shadow the big-bad who conquered Mobius and achieved World Peace(tm), so I had to get creative in working out how I could throw some villainous factions into the mix. I don’t solely want to rely on Shadow for my AU’s villain, that wouldn’t be any fun at all!

I’m half-surprised nobody thought of pairing up Phage and Metal as a sort of twisted spin on Sally and Nicole (AND I WILL ADDRESS WHAT HAPPENS TO HER IN MXYL).

Anyways, hope this trashfic was anywhere near enjoyable, and that you stick around to read more of my MXYL sperging XD

Felt like sketching Mobius 30 Years Later Tails + Melody and Skye. Doesn't really make sense how he got with Mina, so I theorize since they didn't spend much time together as kids, they only truly "met" and got to know each other as adults.

Never liked 25YL much but I feel 30YL holds up a lot better. Adult Tails with full on pilot gear is actually a super badass concept. It kind of sucks Mina never really got any chance with Sonic so they just pushed her onto Tails because he needed a wife and they didn’t have anything else to do with her...but they’re weirdly kind of adorable together with their family in this timeline anyway. Mina is still a famous singer too, so good for her.

When Amy took the throne she wanted to create a council of those closet to her, those who were not just opened minded but not afraid to speak up when need be and so she choose these main four and with their help she was able to bring not just Snottingham but many of their allying kingdoms to a much stronger and better home for many.

Imagine mentioning Ian Flynn's name in the slightest then attracting some clown coming out of the blue telling me "Ian Flynn was so mad about Mobius 30 Years Later that he wanted kill off Sally in the Mecha Sally Arc so that King Sonic can marry Queen Amy, along with Knuckles married to Rouge after he learned that Julie-Su is his cousin and Tails married Cream after Mina married Ash."

That is the absolute wildest fucking conspiracy theory I’ve ever heard in my goddamn life I don’t even know where to start with that. Do....do they forget that Ian fucking wrote M30YL?  Do they think the mandates aren’t rea....oh wait they do.

You know, reading through this arc again, I'm honestly inclined to agree.

There's a lot about this arc that feels like it happens because of Author Fiat rather than it being earned or making sense, and for an arc that's supposed to be about Scourge, it really isn't, mostly using him to expand on Fiona and the Destructix which, while those sequences worked and I wouldn't mind otherwise, it just detracted from what was supposed to be the arc's focus.

And outside of the Destructix flashbacks/Fiona exposition? The arc is just kinda flat and boring since it really just serves as a vehicle to deliver backstories and get Scourge back home.

It's a shame too because I do remember liking it my first time through, but now? Just kinda meh, which is a shame considering how great the last few arcs were.

But yeah, this is the last time we see Scourge and I gotta say, it's a real shame we never get to see where any of this would have GONE between Scourge backstabbing Finitevus and having to confront the Suppression Squad and getting revenge on Sonic, it could've been really fun. Shoulda, woulda, coulda, it doesn't really matter now I suppose.

But what I will say is that I absolutely think Scourge was going to use some sort of Anarchy Beryl bomb similar to the one mentioned in M30YL

Ahh, the last time we ever got to see Scourge and his gang in the comics. Its a shame we never saw what his plan was for both zones, or how he was going to be in conflict with Dr. Finitevus after using his Power Ring.

In the end, this arc was kinda dull? If its end goal was to bring Scourge back to Anti-Mobius, there had to be a better way to do that. Nice that the Destructix got elaborated personalities though…

Well, you got me there, Sonic Live especially for the insanity that was.

I’ve just got a LOT of personal beef with that and the other arcs with Blaze appearing since Blaze is my favorite character and to see her in almost every appearance be treated as a total push-over of a character in comparison to her mainstream counterpart. She goes from taking down Eggman in all of her meet-ups against him to getting K.O.ed by bonks on the head. Heck, her big climatic battle against Metal in said arc lasts just one page and then she’s captured and it takes the Sol Emeralds and Burning Blaze for her to actually beat him. And you’d think they’d give her at least some decent treatment after an entire arc of Sonic and Megaman saving everyone’s asses (which also had Blaze doing almost jack)

But then again, at least Blaze actually beat her villain (in an rather unsatisfying way) I guess, can’t say the same for Megaman X since him and anyone that wasn’t Rock and Soinc got side-lined in the second crossover.

I think it would of been cool if Antoine and Bunnie had adopted children, instead of having kids that were mysteriously half cyborg for no reason because Bunnie has defective roboticizer for a womb. Instead why not make her infertile?

Why not adopt a child (or children) with a disability? Maybe the child (or children) could be cybernetically augmented and look up to their mother?

I mean that makes a lot of sense to me.

Wasn't Theta a character in Archie Sonic's M30YL storyline? If my memory is correct, it was considered a huge threat and locked away in the catacombs.

Ah yes, we've finally gotten here. I personally subscribe to the 2nd or 3rd hypotheses myself, leaning more into the 3rd one, mostly because of A: M30YL, and B: that one panel in Tails' Adventure.

Even then I still imagine toys and the like are used heavily in their sex lives, especially modified ones that are able to either be attached to Bunnie or made to work with Bunnie's unique anatomy.

Also I think,if 2 was the case it could eventually transition to 3 but that's just me. Ov

But headcanons! Headcanons, headcanons, headcanons, let us see.

Bunnie and Antoine can switch up roles, but Bunnie is more often than not the initiator at the very least.

They're both very keen on trying new things in the bedroom. Some work (bondage), others......don't (choking)

Their sessions usually start out pretty wild with passionate kissing and an almost feral lust, but by the end it usually turns into something very tender, with incredibly sappy, romantic sentiments being thrown around, especially from Antoine

Antoine is the greatest lover on Mobius and Bunnie is very much aware of this

Antoine has trimmed his pubic hair to look like his regular hair more than once. Bunnie finds it fucking hilarious in a good way

If she's super into it, Bunnie will sometimes pull her ears or lock her legs around Antoine's waist if they're in a position to. Speaking of positions

Any position where they can look at each other is one they usually either start the night on or end it on. Either way it's their favorite kind

Antoine knows the location of every sensitive spot on Bunnie's body and takes advantage of it very frequently.

Bunnie does the same for Antoine, and sometimes,at a meeting, may "accidentally" brush her hand or leg against one of them

When they get really into it, they are fucking L O U D. Pre-reboot, their house is soundproofed from the inside out by Nicole per the FF's requests.

Favorite place for Antoine to cum: inside. Also Bunnie's favorite, though she does like it on her face or in her mouth sometimes.

First off, I apologize for this being way later than I originally promised. A lot of personal stuff went down, then it was the holidays, and then the Tumblr purge happened and I wanted to see what it would do, and though I think I‘ve found a work around, I wanted to wait till V-day to post since I thought it’d be a nice way to celebrate. 

So what is this Valentine’s special? Well, below the “keep reading” I’ll be discussing potential head-cannons for how Bunnie’s robotics work, how they may effect her physical relationship with Antione, and possible fun bedroom head cannons that I and other contributors have come up with. Mainly concerning the pre-reboot continuity. 

(Sadly though, there will be no visuals as I’m staying on the safe side with Tumblr.)
