I want to know you more (Hiroko Yakushimaru) J-pop
A girl's cute first love? However, isn't this child girl? Well, Hiroko Yakushimaru, an actress and singer who debuted in a movie, has a clear and beautiful voice. This song is the work of two geniuses, lyricist Takashi Matsumoto and composer Kyohei Tsutsumi. There was no way it wouldn't be a hit. The two did not receive specialized training in writing lyrics or composing music, and produced a large number of ``fresh'' works that cannot be imitated by those who learned music from textbooks.
J-pop

Small trip (NHK mini program theme song: Yuji Ohno) J-pop
A program that travels around Japan on Sunday mornings and introduces the lives of ordinary people in each area. Yuji Ohno, who was in charge of the music, left an impression on me because he was in charge of the music for the animation "Lupin III". Also, once upon a time, when the program welcomed lyricist Takashi Matsumoto as a guest on "Small Trip", it is still fresh in my memory that he performed a special arrangement. It's the will to welcome a first-class musician.

Kittens in the apple forest (Takashi Matsumoto, Kyohei Tsutsumi): nursery rhyme
Japan's NHK "Minna no Uta" is a long-running program of quality nursery rhymes. Theme song for the animation "Spoon Auntie". Lyricist Takashi Matsumoto and composer Kyohei Tsutsumi are both geniuses, and there are many masterpieces created by these two. This song is a small piece, but its qualities are fully demonstrated. The beauty of this song makes me cry.

¹ Although the lyrics explicitly say car radio, the fact that the girl grips the singer’s shoulders (and that a later stanza mentions zigzagging through the beach), coupled with the singer’s “bad boy” image makes me think that the vehicle in question is actually a motorcycle. And yes—apparently it is possible to install a car-radio on a bike.

---
I kept the lyrics “white parasol on the beach” because “white beach umbrella on the beach” sounded too redundant, but the term パラソル is absolutely most often used to refer to large beach or patio umbrellas as opposed to individual-sized umbrellas, although it’s worth noting that Seiko performed this song with both kinds as props.
Also, 90′s Nakamori Akina performing this on TV for an imitation segment and imitating her rival Seiko's burikko gestures and whispery thin singing voice may or may not be my favorite thing.
