Lynnania Thay, Queen Of Thay
Other Titles:
The Vermillion Queen
Scourge Of Sovereigns (She’s Killed 3 Kings And Ended An Entire Bloodline)
Queen Of The Dragons
Lofn Cormyr Thay's Mother
Because everyone has been so interested and kind with Lofn I wanted to share with you all Lofn's mother who started everything in our DnD campaign. This campaign has now been going on for five years officially and everything that is said below has happened which is wild, please enjoy.
In Lynnania’s veins flows the same blood as the Ancient Red Dragon, a dragon that has long been intertwined with her family's legacy. Before Lynnania, her father Merciel Thay rode the mighty beast, just as her grandfather did before him. Together, the Ancient Red Dragon and Lynnania's grandfather laid the foundation of Thay, seizing the land in a bygone era, and forging it into the kingdom it is today.
She is a fearsome fighter, sorceress, and Queen, renowned for her indomitable spirit and undefeated record in countless battles/wars. Ascending the throne at 19 years old, she claimed her rightful place in Thay. Since then, she has waged relentless wars, relentlessly expanding her banners and territory, seeking to conquer and gain kingdoms throughout the region.
Lynnania is without a doubt a strong and unyielding Queen that never hides behind her walls. She is a Queen that will forever fight alongside her people, whether on dragonback or not. She would never bend the knee for anyone, deeming death a far more suitable option for any who dare ask this of her. If you do not bend the knee to her... Well... She will kill you for that as well.
When confronted with threats, Lynnania exhibits a bone chilling absence of mercy. Though her reign may be drenched in blood, her subjects and allied realms remain unwaveringly devoted to her and even adore her.
Lynnania wields a weapon known as the Mirror dagger: This blade was bestowed upon her by a mysterious masked elf who crossed her path during her travels. The masked figure played a series of tricks on Lynnania, and by the end of their encounter, she found herself in the possession of the dagger. Initially, it was cursed, seizing control of her at unpredictable times and causing harm to those around her.
Though it took time, Lynnania managed to break the curse which ended up being the Masked Elf trapped within the dagger who turned out to be the son of the great Feywild. This led her unlocking the daggers true potential- she can teleport to wherever she throws it, and if she lands a fatal blow with the dagger she can imprison the victims soul within its shards. The dagger is crafted from broken glass, with each fragment serving as a prison for a soul. Lynnania has the power to resurrect anyone whose soul she has captured by simply breaking the shard that contains it. She may also take on the appearance of those whose souls she’s claimed.
Enemies: Asmodeous & The Nine Hells
Dragons At Her Side: Ancient Red, Black, Gold, Green, and Brass.
Children: Signa, Visela, Lofn, and twin boys whom she took in from streets, Aedric and Aleron.
Lynnania is a wicked force to be reckoned with at this point, she has single handily forged alliances with names we have all heard about. Take for instance, Grazzt, The Demon Prince Of Pleasure, a prominent figure among her earliest allies due to her relationship with him. Her stepfather -long story-, played a role in raising her and happened to be none other than Grazzt's own offspring. Together, Lynnania and Grazzt have formed a great partnership, united in their shared enmity for The Nine Hells. Recognizing her as a potent assest, Grazzt has bestowed upon her his mark, even granting her with a portion of his own abilities. Though much more could be said, their relationship remains delightfully uncomplicated in its wickedness.
Bane Lord Of Darkness, yes it's true I promise you. Bane is one of Lynnania's closest allies. Bane initially sought to extinguish her existence, dispatching his chosen one at the time to do his bidding. Yet, astonishingly, Lynnania not only withstood a fatal blow but also managed to mercilessly and precisely throw her dagger into their chest allowing her to teleport to it and dig the dagger deep into their heart- sealing their soul forever in her dagger as her prisoner. Time and time again, Bane tirelessly tried to kill her, only to witness her emerge as the victorious one each time, incinerating his last chosen to ashes.
Impressed at this point by Lynnania, Bane also found himself consumed by curiosity and since that time he has taken on the form of a wood elf Reyes so he could be at her side. He brought her back to his domain giving her a chance to prove herself, which she did. Bane has now stood by her side since fighting alongside her conquering new territories, enjoying her ambition. He looks forward to their coming war in The Nine Hells. Bane's Church was even allowed to be built in Thay. They since have become inseparable and you will most likely find these two together. Rumors have spread that the lord of darkness may harbor other feelings towards her, but it is unknown/ never been proven.
The Githyanki, were allied with her Father before she was even born. Merciel Thay held a private study within an Astral Dreadnought's stomach which harbored his most cherished possessions including a golden dragon egg and providing a portal to the realm of the Githyanki. Upon his demise, this inheritance fell into Lynnania's grasp, solidifying the Gith and her connection. Though occasional rivalry may simmer between Lynnania and the Githyanki, in times of battle and war, they set aside their differences, recognizing their respectivie roles and the importance of victory. Together they always unite, driven by their connections of the red dragons.
Tiamat Also Know As The Dark Lady, was released from her shackles orchestarted by Lynnania and her forces when they took to Avernus in The Nine Hells to showcase her army and power. While this battle was going on, Lynnania was able to find her way to Asmodeus shattering the contract and chains that had long bound Tiamat under his thumb. Due to Lynnania's connection and relation to the Ancient Red Dragon -One Of Tiamat's "children"- Tiamat has an unbreakable bond with Lynnania. They both harbor a desire to witness the ultimate downfall of Asmodeus.
Cormyr and Thay were at war for ages and clashed in a relentless war due to Cormyr being connected with the Ancient Blue Dragon. In the era preceding Lynnania's reign -before she was born-, Merciel and the King of Cormyr, Lothric, locked dragons in a cataclysmic clash in a spectacle that left the very heavens trembling. Amidst the fight, Merciel emerged triumphant as The Ancient Red Dragon delivered a fatal blow that killed the once mighty Ancient Blue Dragon.
During Lynnania's time in Cormyr, Lothric's son, Lykos, new ruler of Cormyr -unbeknownst to him of who she actually was at the time- and her both fell deeply in love. As he discovered her truth and who her father he reluctantly chose not to hold his blade to her. Instead he decided to keep her close, potentially using her to his own benefits and safeguarding her from others. Unfortunately, one of Lykos' guards discovered her secret being of Thay blood and dared lay hands upon her attempting to imprison her. Breaking free from his grasp she spared the man only to see what Lykos would do once she told him and showed him the bruise left behind... The guard and the other who saw it all happened were never seen again... Their existence forever erased.
Eventually after some time Lynnania killed Lykos, sealing his soul away within her mirror dagger. To ensure his father couldn't reign again she also slaughtered him in his sleep... And then killed the younger brother which turned out to be her half brother thus discovering what caused the great war in the first place... The Queen Of Thay, Lynnania's mother had an affair with the old king of Cormyr.
A year went by and she brought Lykos back, claiming she did what she had to ensure the ending of the war. They worked it out and he became king again and they united their forces and kingdoms creating a new army, The Purple Dragons <3
There is so much i want to add but i cant. How do you breakdown a five year campaign???? I hope whoever reads this enjoyed it xoxo

Sorry I keep spamming you but I wanna know all the lore!!!! What about the boys Lofn's mother adopted? Were they raised with her? 👀 Also how does Thay work as a monarchy?
Awh!!! Please don’t be sorry!!!! Your stuff puts a big ol’ smile on my face each time I see something new ◝(ᵔᗜᵔ)◜
Lynnania Thay <- You can find a lot of info here!! It’s not everything since it’s a five year campaign but there’s a lot of info!!!
As for the two boys, their names are Aedric (8) and Aleron (5).
Lynnania found them originally on the streets of Thay with a few from the thieves guild who were trying to start coup. When she approached, Aedric was the first to stand up to her, threatening her. She was super impressed the kid wasn’t afraid of her, and took note of this. She also saw how skinny he was and could see how sick the youngest one was… “courageous little thing, aren’t you?” And then she pushed past him and walked right up to the leader of the coup. She took her non magical dagger and held it out to him and told him to kill her right here and now if he wished to see her dead. Thats when the ancient red dragon flew overhead.
The leader told Lynnania she was a terrible queen and that people were starving because of her -when in reality it wasn’t true, she personally went out of her way to make sure she hunted for meat for the city-. She basically retorted back and held her dagger at the thieves throat blaming them for starving their own guild in spite of her and making the boys suffer. She then turned to the two and asked if they would like a home, a place where they can live and grow and told Aedric he could get proper training at wielding a sword- she even smiled and told him if he held animosity towards her perhaps he’d be good enough to kill her. The younger one, Aleron, wanted to go with her and thus for Aedric followed reluctantly. (She kills the leader of the coup later)
They lived with her in the castle and she even personally trained them. Aleron eventually died years later, but Aedric stayed by his Queen- his mother’s side ever since she took them both in. And she looks at him like a true son, despite not being blood.
For Thay, the ruler is chosen by hereditary lineage. Signa was her first born son, but because his father is Lykos Cormyr -the king of Cormyr-, Signa was appointed as heir of Cormyr (which he now rightfully rules). Lofn was chosen as the heir of Thay due to being the realms princess -the light of Thay-. Everyone adores her, but also because she has taken on her mother and father’s ruthless nature when the situation calls for it. Shes a great leader and never runs from a battle.
Phew!!! Sorry for rambling there- … okay no I’m not hahaha I enjoyed this sooooo much!!!!!

will we ever see your tav? I’m really curious since I’ve been seeing a lot of Tavs lately on other blogs.
I was just talking about how I’d like to post her, and I’ve decided to finally make a little thingy about her because she’s my baby and she’s from our 4 year dnd campaign.
Yes you read that right, 4 years 5 now, and we are still going!
It’s so cool I got to make her come to life in Baldurs Gate. And she’s honestly my biggest inspiration for my stories.
I was just nervous because I didn’t think people would care *nervous laughter*
Stay tuned because she’ll be here soon for the world to see!
Also!!! My Tav is the daughter of my favorite dnd character I created who I’ve been playing with for 4 years and I feel like showing her off:
Lynnania Thay aka The Red Queen Of Thay
-Not my Tav, my Tav’s mother-

LYNNANIA'S "REIGN OF TERROR": A RE-EVALUATION
ABSTRACT:
Queen Lynnania's reign has been traditionally described a "reign of terror", with the ruler seen as "prone to cruelty". This view of her tenure as Queen of Thay has not been challenged despite a lack of contemporary sources. This paper seeks to examine Aramhus' Lives of Dragon Queens passages on Queen Lynnania, discussing the biases and clear agenda of the author in depicting her as a cruel autocrat, but also to examine what possible sources can be used to understand the little-known reign of Lofn's mother.
BIBLIOGRAPHY:
AMYSH J., Monarchic remembrance in Thaian Republic
CULBRIDGE M., Aramhus and his Queens: anti-monarchic partisanship in republican times
LISTOS A., Thay's Greater Golden Age
NAMOSTENE H., Thaian Epigraphy
(I am studying to be a historian and I absolutely love to make fake academic papers like this is about actual ancient civilizations ;w;)
Oh my gosh Jelly!!!! I loved reading this and yeah definitely in the Star her reign was known across the realm for being cruel!
My DnD was also super impressed!!!
We enjoyed how you made us feel like Lynnania was a character you’ve known about just as long as us! We also liked the “little known” part because she would be someone to erase history should someone depict her in a light she disagreed with. Or rather destory any books on her simply because she wished for people to seek her out should they have questions about her reign if that makes sense.
“Ah, so you wish to delve into the depths of my being, of my reign do you?” *burns the books with her hand, “very well then, step forward and ask what it is you desperately desire to know. Be warned though, it might come at a price.”

OMG KIWI YOU NEED TO TELL ME ABOUT ZAVRIK
What would you like to know about this sweet cinnamon roll, my lovely Jelly ◝(ᵔᗜᵔ)◜!?
His name is Zavrik (Zah-vrik / Zah-v-reek),
Zavrik wasn't born with a dragon egg hatchling like most the family was. Instead, he became the rider of Skjaldrynn, the great red wyvern of his great grandfather Merciel. Skjaldrynn had only ever been ridden and tamed by Merciel, not even Lynnania could sway the beast. So when Zavrik became the next rider of Skjaldrynn, the people of Thay, including Korgus, saw it as fate. They believe that Zavrik is a prodigy destined to sit the throne of Thay, even mirroring some of the old king’s (Merciel) traits and appearance.
Master swordsman thanks to his father, and has learned the ways of perfecting fire magic which was passed down from his Thay bloodline. Immune to fire, heat, and lava thanks to his bloodline being connected to the ancient red dragon.
Enjoys a good fighting competition and will hastily challenge any that think they can best him.
Thanks to his charming personality and good looks, he is very popular amongst the the women & men- but he has his eyes set on someone already (you’ll see at the end ♡).
Due to almost not making it during childbirth, him and his mother have a very close/unbreakable bond. She had always feared of losing her precious son which led her to seek the aid of Bane to place a protective ward on his soul that even granted him Bane's blessing.
His personality is a perfect blend of Lofn and Zevlor. A true gentleman, loyal, noble, and a fierceness that burns as bright as a fire and as hot as dragons breath. He earned the scar on his lip from protecting a female slave from her abusive owner. She was being tormented, beaten, and as the man was about to strike her with his whip, Zavrik jumped in the way. After killing the man, he had threatened any and all who dared try and stop him from freeing her (he even offered her a home within Thay).
#jellyfitzjelly#you are the best for asking about him thank you <333#was so much fun coming up with some stuff for him!#˚₊‧꒰ა❤︎໒꒱‧₊˚ 𝓛𝓸𝓯𝓷 & 𝓩𝓮𝓿𝓵𝓸𝓻 ˚₊‧꒰ა❤︎໒꒱‧₊˚#bg3#Zevlor#baldur’s gate 3#tav#dnd#original character#Zavrik Cormyr Thay

"She's ten years old," Zevlor said, features hardening as he locked his fiery gaze with Korgus'.
"And she is our enemy's daughter," the bald elf countered, somber. "And Thay doesn't show mercy to enemies."
"She's a child!" the Commander bellowed. "Her father won't act like one, but that doesn't give us leave to act like savages!"
"She must be executed! If we show any weakness, the clans–"
"The girls will help us bring the clans under our banner. If you–"
"Our?" Korgus spat.
Zevlor clenched his jaw, willing himself not to pummel this man with every fiber of his being.
The counsellors started arguing, some siding with Zevlor and seeing the worth of having such a political prisoner, others siding with Korgus and pressing for the child's public execution.
"Enough!" Lofn finally said, silencing everyone.
She rose, her pregnant belly showing a bit under the beautiful dress she was wearing. She circled the table, the silence heavy and tensed.
"Is this the marketplace or the princess' council?" she asked sternly, making the counsellors hang their head in shame.
She circled back to her seat and sat down.
"We do not wage war with children," she said, raising a hand to stop any protest. "Hyleria is an innocent girl who happens to be the unfortunate daughter of our enemy. I will not punish her for her father's treachery. This is not up for discussion," she added, glaring at Korgus.
She rose to leave, Zevlor trailing behind her.
"I thought you were going to throw Korgus through the window," she chuckled as they walked the halls.
"Gods know I wanted to," Zevlor sighed. "Thank you for saving the child."
Lofn took his hand in hers.
"You say that as if it was even a choice."
Zevlor smiled tenderly, eyes crinkling with love.
I- I- I don’t- I don’t know what to say .·°՞(¯□¯)՞°·.!!! Jelly!!!! When I saw this I was in total shock!!! Like what a lovely little gift to wake up to!!!! I can’t tell you what this means to me and how fast I screenshot it to have forever!!!
Okay now let’s talk about this!!! Because I have to tell you I was freaking screaming like a little lobster on the inside -in a good way-!!! YOU my dear love!!! YOU captured Lofn so well!!! And do you know what’s insane!?!? It feels like you’ve been a part of our five year campaign because Lynnania -Lofn’s mother the Queen- has always had one rule- No children. She has killed many but never a child, and Lofn in the same freaking way!!!! UGHHHH AND THE WAY YOU NAILED KORGUS!!!!! I have to show my DM because he’d also love this!!!
Little lore for you, when Lynnania was around Lofn’s age she found two young boys who were struggling/homeless and took them in as her own/raised them -Korgus didn’t like that either- ah ha ha ha!!!
I can’t get over this little story, Jelly!!!! And Zevlor- oh my gosh and Zevlor ( ⸝⸝´꒳`⸝⸝)!!! What a man!!! I heard his voice the entire time!!! Again *claps* well done!!!! Am I selfish to say I want to hear more of your side of these two!?!?!!!! Ahhh!!!! I must do something as a thank you!!!

Seeing others thirst over your male characters makes me feel better since I thought I was the only one. Now tell me about this new guy with the scars I need to know for sinful reasons
Oh yeah, no. You definitely aren’t alone with this and I’m honored for that ♡!!! Bahaha yes yes, I can tell you about Aedric! Please enjoy xoxo and thank you for the love ♡ ♡ ♡ I added pieces with Zevlor so you can get a feel for his character as well.
Aedric was actually created pre Lofn since he was introduced fairly early in our DnD campaign. He and his little brother were orphans that were taken in by Lynnania (Lofn’s mother the Queen). Aka her first two children despite not being of her blood. Unfortunately Aedric’s little brother passed.
When it comes to Zevlor, the two had a very rocky start and Aedric never liked the idea of his sister being with some washed up hellrider that couldn’t even protect his own people… During Lofn’s childbirth, as she was struggling to give birth and her screams could be heard, Aedric was pacing next to her angrily.
As Zevlor rushed into the chambers to be with his beloved, Aedric immediately drew his blade and held the sharp edge against Zevlor’s throat, growling- threatening, “Should she die, I will ensure you spend every waking moment haunted by the knowledge that her blood is on your hands thanks to that child you sowed inside her.”
It was only when the two went into battle and had to cover one another did Aedric begin to trust and respect Zevlor. And when Zevlor eventually killed Aradin that’s when Aedric finally accepted Zevlor. Hehehe ooops spoiler.
One time when Zevlor returned back to the castle, his form bloodied, his men trailing behind in a similar state. Aedric leaned against a wall, eyes narrowed as he listened... Watching as Lofn demanded what happened.
Zevlor’s gaze flickered to one of his men, his jaw clenched, an arm encircling Lofn as his other curled into a fist, “you fool! We were all nearly slaughtered because of your incompetence!”
Aedric pushed off the wall and quickly swept Lofn up, carrying her out from the room before locking her out. The air was thick as he turned, his eyes dark as he strode towards the accused man. The sound of his blade leaving its sheath before striking down the man that nearly got Zevlor killed…
Due to being raised by Lynnania and spending much of his time with her before her actual children were born he took on many of her traits. He’s ruthless, cold blooded, and does not hesitate to eliminate those he sees as obstacles. His actions often include lethal force, whether in battle or political maneuvering.
He tends to operate in shades of gray, making decisions that can be remorseless but always has his family & the people of Thay in mind. The people of Thay recognize Aedric as an incredibly skilled and deadly warrior as well as a capable diplomat, having help negotiate a peace treaty with a neighboring kingdom.
Aedric is known for his stoicism and dry wit- he often comes across as gruff and serious, but has moments where he’s humorous and has his guard down where he reveals deeper emotions.
Lofn and Aedric are extremely close, for example, when Lofn was little she often sought Aedric and Signa (her eldest blood brother) out. She would always cling to Aedric’s leg whenever they walked around the palace, and at times she’d even step on his toes so that he could walk around with her on his feet. During nights where terrible dreams haunted her she was usually found dragging Signa to Aedric’s room so that she could crawl in bed with him and have them both read her stories until she fell back asleep (though tired they didn’t mind doing this for her <3)
After proving himself worthy, Aedric gained the blessing of and became the rider of the third largest dragon in Thay, the Ancient Black Dragon.

"Your Grace, he cannot be in charge of the dragons!" Korgus bellowed from the other side of the table.
"My dragons, Korgus. You'd do well to remember that," Lofn coldly reminded him.
Zevlor heaved an inward sigh. His lover had been determined to officialize his stay in Thay, much to his dismay. He knew the resistance Korgus showed was not isolated. Many in Thaian nobility must share his hostility toward him. And with Lofn currently having their very first child, Zevlor naturally couldn't help but worry all this could impact her pregnancy. Of course, Lofn had been too stubborn to give up.
"My dragons are difficult to approach, you all know that. But they trust Zevlor. They see him like they see me. But again, dragons are often more sensible than people..."
"Your mother the Queen may not share your opinion," one of her advisors said. "Devilspawns should not given this much power."
Lofn banged her first on the table, making everyone silent.
"Say this word again anywhere in Thay, dear sir," she snarled, "and I'll have you stripped of you titles. Am I clear? Zevlor is my consort and the father of my unborn child and you will treat him with due respect. If any of you–"
Zevlor gently put his hand on her shoulder, silently asking her to calm down lest she upset herself, the baby or the dragons. Sure enough, Vyrmoth's cry resonated in the horizon and wings could be heard above the castle.
"Let's not get everyone barbecued over such a trivial matter, yes?" he whispered to Lofn.
She chuckled, shooting him an amused glance, and dismissed her council.
Beside Zevlor and Lofn stood Riznof, her mother's trusted guard, his face creased in a warm smile. His dear princess reminded him just of her mother, strong willed and refusing to not be heard… He chuckled at remembering Lynnania at her age.
“Ah, Princess Lofn,” Riznof boomed, clapping Zevlor on the shoulder, “You've brought a fine soldier back with you!” He looked around, eyeing down each council member before they dismissed themselves- especially Korgus, “we’d do well to remember that the old blood of Thorion runs in her veins, the great king that made and shaped this place into what it is today…” His eyes narrowed, the scar on his eye glinting in the light, “lest your bloodline be forgotten in fire.”
Lofn smiled, and bowed her head in a silent thank you. The man had served her family for centuries, and she knew there was no better ally, or friend, she could ask for. As she cradled her swollen belly, she watched as Zevlor bowed slightly, thanking Riznof for his kind words. “I thank you, Ser Riznof. And I can assure you- I vow,” Zevlor’s eyes locked with Korgus’, whose lips curled down awaiting for what the tielfing had to say, “that I will defend your princess… Your Queen, and the child that will bear the legacy of Thorion to my dying breath. Thay is my home now, and I will show my gratitude by being its shield.”
Whaaa~ .·°՞(¯□¯)՞°·.!!!!! This is so wonderful and I can’t tell you how many times I read this!!!! I can’t get over how spoiled you make me feel, my wonderful, my lovely, my sweet and delightful Jelly ♡ ♡ ♡!!! I’m going to add to this!!!!!

Kiwi, I'd love to have an in-depth exposé of Thay's political system. What are the factions at court? Who are the great noble families of Thay? What about dragons? Are they a big cultural element in Thaian society? What about that society, though. How is it organized?
I'll need your three volumes book by tomorrow thank you.
I love talking about the lore but I apologize because I’m trying to condense a 5 year campaign and that’s EXTREMELY hard!!! I did my absolute best and I hope you enjoy it<333 Thank you jelly for taking such a huge interest <33 I have something cooking for you as a thanks for all the lovely stories you’ve been sending me xoxo!!
If you are interested in learning more about Lofn & Zevlor and where they live I highly recommend checking this out!!
Tʜᴇ Lᴏʀᴇ Oғ Tʜᴀʏ
In the court of Thay it is primarily composed of Wizards representing different schools of magic. These Wizards serve as advisors to Thay’s ruler, including the princess and her siblings, such as Signa, the King of Cormyr. The Red Wizards are a secret society since Lynnania’s grandfather took control and are known to be able to use the red crystals (a magical energy source) at their full potential. As members age, they seek successors to continue their legacy. The Red Wizards also provide counsel to the rulers and vigilantly guard against threats to the city. Korgus, the leader of the Red Wizards, holds a position on the council and has demonstrated unwavering loyalty to the Thay family for many years.
As for the great noble families; the lineage of Lofn stands as the sole noble family in Thay, tracing its origins back to Thorion, Lofn’s great grandfather, who shaped Thay into its current form. Upon Thorion’s “death” (never fully confirmed), his son Merciel ascended to the throne, and he was loved and respected just as his father was. However, his reign faced turmoil when his beloved wife, Lilia, had an affair with the King of Cormyr, resulting in a pregnancy. Despite the scandal, she managed to ensure the child was safely delivered to the King of Cormyr before Merciel could discover the child wasn’t his and slay the infant.
When Merciel discovered the affair, a prolonged war erupted between Cormyr and Thay. This conflict raged on until Merciel, alongside the ancient red dragon he rode, slayed both the King of Cormyr and his ancient blue dragon. As time went by, Lilia gave birth to Lynnania but fled with her due to Merceil becoming more violent natured (he would abuse Lilia). That’s where Lynnania’s story began, when her mother died she eventually discovered who she was and at age 19 she ascended the Throne of Thay and took her rightful place as Queen after killing her father and handing his soul over to Grazzt.
Lynnania(19) later forged peace with Cormyr, having fallen in love with Lykos Cormyr (30), the son of the former king her father had slain. But before uniting the kingdoms, the two clashed despite their affections, resulting in Lynnania defeating Lykos and trapping his soul within her dagger. Eventually, she resurrected him, and together they have had three children, including Lofn.
In the heart of the city lies an enormous dragon spine, so massive that the district is aptly named The Spine. Whispers and tales suggest that this spine once belonged to Astilabor, the dragon Goddess of wealth. Legend has it that she and Thorion were inseparable allies, waging numerous battles side by side until she ascended to the heavens, leaving her spine as a symbol of the dragons' guardianship over the city.
The dragons hold a strong cultural influence on the realm of Thay but the one they embrace the most is The Ancient Red Dragon, Thalerion. Some even use the red crystals as a form of reverence.
Thay holds a yearly celebration to honor Thalerion and the other dragons with fireworks and street food. The society of Thay has a bustling marketplace (similar to the Bazaars Of The Ottoman Empire). Thay is even known for being a very artistic culture with lots of sculptures, the red crystals creating murals, and in some parts they value design over function. It’s a very magical place where you can find many rare weapons, clothing, and even creatures.
Since Bane’s arrival (Lynnania’s greatest ally/A father figure in his eyes to Lofn), the Banites have become a part of the guards and have been loyal to Thay. Because of the alliance Lynnania formed with them, the temple of Bane was built for those loyal to him. You will always find Bane lurking around near/ or with Lynnania (he also takes on the appearance of a wood elf named Reyes).
The guards of Thay are led by a man named Riznof, a well known seasoned veteran of the royal guard and Lynnania’s personal guard. They are all able to use teleportation circles all across the city that they use to get to needed locations to protect it. Since Thay is known for being extremely hot, their material is made of enchanted leather that is resistant to the heat. When a member of the Thay guards meet their end, the Thay family honors their sacrifice with a sacred burial ceremony. It is believed that these warriors who have departed this life with honor, are embraced by one of the dragons from the heavens in their final moments. Their bodies are set aflame by one of the Thay’s dragons so that their soul can embark on a journey, riding upon the back of a dragon into the celestial realms above.
Due to Lynnania’s alliance with the Abyss and Grazzt her castle is guarded by Giant Demon Dire Wolves. These beasts have fur as black as night, blood red eyes that pierce your very soul and bones that protrude from their spines. Besides the Thay family only five members of the Royal guards are able to command them, Riznof being one.
Thay’s greatest enemy is Asmodeus and the Nine Hells. Lynnania and the devil lord have been at one another’s throats ever since she interfered with his plans to conquer Toril, and corrupt Thay. Asmodeus has had numerous attempts at trying to ensalve the queen and destroy the city, but he has failed each time. This only fueled the hatred between the two further, and he has since made it his mission to find a way to end Lynnania...
In an act of desperation he took control of a close and very powerful ally of hers, a wizard named Veroon- and Asmodeus attempted to kill her himself as soon as he got close enough. Though he landed a near fatal blow, Lynnania survived and before she could trap his soul in her dagger, Asmodeus escaped the body he was in. Years have gone by and Asmodeus has yet to make another move and the hells have kept at bay away from Lynnania.
#Zevlor eventually settles in nicely and is also beloved by many <3333#He and Lofn tend to make an appearance in the market quite often <333#And he loves watching her play and interact with the children <333#bg3#baldur’s gate 3#Lofn Cormyr Thay#homebrew#dnd#dungeons and dragons#dnd lore#original character

FʀᴏsᴛPᴇᴛᴀʟ
A breathtaking pearlescent wyvern with pale pink eyes, gifted to Zevlor & Lofn’s first born daughter as an egg by Lynnania (the Queen of Thay/ Lofn’s mother). This gorgeous creature is the hatchling of a legendary golden wyvern, Caldrak, who hatched/emerged into Thay when the queen was just 19.
Their daughter is so deeply bonded with Frostpetal that one night, Zevlor awoke to find her missing. A surge of panic gripped him as he frantically searched every corner and grounds of the castle with Riznof. Just as the worst thoughts began to set in his mind, he stepped outside into the castle’s grand garden to discover a heartwarming scene. His young daughter peacefully sleeping beneath Frostpetal’s wing, the most serene expression on both their faces, S she cradled into the warmth of her beloved companion.

Signa Cormyr Thay
The first born child of Lynnania Thay & Lykos Cormyr.
Lofn’s eldest blood brother.
Titles: King Of Cormyr, Asgorath’s Chosen, The Golden King, Cormyr’s Guardian
Signa is a legendary warrior, celebrated for his strategic genius in battle and his deep bond with his Golden Dragon, Tavruk. Together they have vanquished entire armies, earning him respect from both allies and foes alike. As a leader, Signa is unflinchingly courageous and selfless, complemented by a sharp mind that never falters in the heat of conflict.
Despite his status as The King of Cormyr, Signa remains approachable and is often seen engaging with the people of his kingdom. He is quick to offer a hand to the less fortunate, and has been known to show up in the poorest parts of the city, where he spends time helping improve the lives of the impoverished, bringing light to the darkest corners of Cormyr and wherever else he may be. Even when it comes to his men he speaks with them on a personal level, valuing their concerns and input.
Even though he is quite handsome and the definition of a wonderful romantic partner, Signa has never been seen with anyone nor has he ever shown interest in anyone… According to his mother, Signa remains loyal to the memory of his childhood friend, the daughter of his mothers personal servant. As a young boy he vowed to her that he would only give his heart to her, and has yet to break that promise. She is the very reason he remains unattached, and why he has never taken a bride… She tragically passed when they were both teens (and she was pregnant) due to a war that had broken out between Icewind Dale and Thay.
Because Signa brought balance and peace to Cormyr, along with blessing others and giving them new life with his selflessness, many people believe that he is Asgorath’s chosen. Some argue that he is Bahamut’s chosen, that he was chosen by the lawful good god and destined to rule well. The more extreme devotees believed that he is the son of both gods. Whenever Signa hears these stories/claims he simply chuckles and explains how he is just some man, nothing more.
He’s quite philosophical and often reflects on fate, the gods, and the nature of life and death.
He has an undeniable magnetism that effortlessly attracts others, and his confidence and passion tend to ignite a spark in those around him, inspiring them to stand by his side and fight alongside him.
He also enjoys spending time alone, often disappearing for hours at a time only to resurface later.
He is proficient in fire manipulation and magic just like his mother, and he was also born with immunity against fire, lava and all things hot.
Zevlor and Signa share a close bond, and he was even the first to stand in defense for the hellrider against his mother, The Queen Of Thay and her council. Thanks to Signa’s support of Zevlor, the tiefling found acceptance in Cormyr far more swiftly than in Thay. Their bond deepened over time through shared faith, principles, and their love for Lofn.
There came a time where when Aedric first met Zevlor he threatened the man with ending his life and that a hellspawn was not welcomed in his eyes- but Signa was quick to act drawing his own blade, flames dancing along the steel aimed at Aedric. Signa had told Aedric to stand down and that Zevlor was not their enemy, that their sister is grown and has the right to choose whom she loves.

ok here's a preview of what I am working on!!!!! Might be subject to change but I really wanted to show you a sneek peek hehe (also I just realized i wasn't following you wtf)
(Click Below For My Response, Jelly ♡ ♡)
*gasps dramatically* how dare you not follow me!!!! Shame!!!
Okay first of all I need to express how your insights and love for these character are as delightful as a dragon’s hoard of glittering treasures~ ♡ and whenever I read this/ read anything from you, Jelly, my little heart flutters like a little pixie on a sugar high ♡ ♡ ♡!!!
You have no idea how grateful I am for your creativity. You’re officinally the reason why we stopped our little break in our campaign and started building more to our campaign ♡ We had taken a break for a hot minute and once I started sharing this all with my DM we really got back into it and started talking about our character and adding to them.
The way you’ve been capturing everyone is so enchanting, and honestly it makes someone feel like they’re actually there reading an old tome about the Thay family ♡ ♡ ♡
The fact you even added the dead three and Baldurs Gate tells me how much thought and love you’ve been putting into this ♡ like it really makes my jaw drop in the best way possible. Also you’re sooooo right about Lofn and Zevlor forming a powerful political party. With his age/knowledge/experience and with her knowledge/ experience, they really to make a powerful couple. Not only that but they both have kind hearts ♡
I also like how you left it as a mystery about Bane ♡. I’d say he definitely threatened or made it clear to lord gortash the princess was off limits due to the dark lords relationship with her. Or my DM said that it could’ve been possible that Bane wanted the two to meet and form a partnership/ wanted to see who would come out on top. Maybe he was bored and wanted to have some fun, maybe he was doing this to gain a greater army for the wars to come in Thay. He does love war after all.
I should probably note because looking back at some lore I dropped… I didn’t make it very clear, but remember when I said Lynnania’s mother the former Queen had an affair with The King Of Cormyr? And then later lynnania fell in love with the king of cormyr’s son??? I should add that this is not the secret baby her mother had xD this was a separate son completely! Lykos has no blood relation to her whatsoever. Lorean was the half brother /secret baby. Later he was killed by Lynnania thanks to Bane (pre ally shipped) controlling him and her having no idea who he was to her. Later she discovered the truth and found a way to bring him back and free his soul from Bane’s clutches.
I honestly hope that quill of yours never runs dry, Jelly (⸝⸝> ᴗ•⸝⸝)
I can’t wait to read more xoxo and I’m keeping these all in my folder to look back at whenever I need a good smile/read xoxo

Lofn Cormyr Thay
The Young Princess of both Thay & Cormyr.
Lofn’s mother is Lynnania Thay, also known as The Red Queen of Thay or Queen of the Dragons. Lynnania belongs to the Royal Red Dragonblood Line, and she shares a connection and blood with the Ancient Red Dragon, Thalerion.
Lofn’s father, Lykos Cormyr, was the King of Cormyr and belonged to the Royal Blue Dragonblood Line, he was bonded with The Ancient Blue Dragon, Remforg. However, her eldest brother, Signa, has become the new King of Cormyr.
She is heir to the Thay Throne.
Lofn possesses an inconsistent kindness, yet it is undeniable that she has a compassionate nature and finds it difficult to witness the suffering of those she deems innocent. On one occasion, she encountered a king whose subjects were facing execution for practicing magic. Without hesitation, she took it upon herself to slay the man in the public's eye to free them from his corrupt ruling.
Both she and her mother have been given the titles “Monarch’s Bane” due to them both being known for ending the lives of multiple rulers.
Lofn harbors ambitions to continue her mother's legacy of conquering kingdoms/ allying with certain kingdoms. She also wishes to preserve her family's strong bloodline.
She will swiftly turn against anyone she perceives as an enemy, subjecting them to merciless and unjust punishments simply because she has the power to do so.
Lofn prioritizes her people and family above all else and will go to any lengths to safeguard them. Unlike many rulers who shelter themselves behind fortifications, she was raised to be present among her people, fighting alongside them.
Lofn is the sole rider of the Amethyst Dragon, Aetherion, with whom she shares a remarkable and unique bond that transcends typical dragon-rider relationships. Their connection is deeply symbiotic, marked by steadfast loyalty and a significant emotional depth. When Lofn experiences distress, Aetherion too shows signs of discomfort, reflecting the profound interdependence of their relationship.
During battle, as Lofn's hostility intensifies, Aetherion resonates with her feelings, embodying her fierce determination and intensity. Their emotional bond is so powerful that the dragon picks up on Lofn's emotions effortlessly, without any verbal instructions or signals, making them an unstoppable team.
Key Abilities; Lofn was granted immunity to fire by The Ancient Red Dragon, and was granted the power to harness lightning from The Ancient Blue Dragon.
Power & Weapon; She’s a sorceress of fire and lightning magic but prefers to use her great sword that was gifted to her by a peculiar winter elf. The blade is made from broken glass and amethysts.
Enemies: Asmodeous & The Nine Hells
Main Allies: Bane - Grazzt - Tiamat - Ancient Red Dragon - Ancient Blue Dragon - Ancient Black Dragon - Ancient Green Dragon - Ancient Gold Dragon - Amethyst Dragon
Bane is one of her mother’s most trusted allies and has been at the Thay’s side ever since he took a liking to Lynnania. He regards Lofn as if she were his own daughter and he wishes to grant her his blessing. Since her birth, he has been a protective presence in her life, imparting many of his skills to her. Bane eagerly anticipates the opportunity to fight alongside her and her family in their upcoming fight with Asmodeous. When disguising himself, Bane adopts the persona of a wood elf named Reyes.
Tiamat, also known as The Dark Lady, has stayed in Thay ever since Lofn’s mother freed her from Asmodeous/ The Hells. Tiamat has a bond with Lofn due to her draconic ancestry and the power she holds, she views the princess as a means to strengthen not only herself but the chromatic dragons as well.
Grazzt, on the other hand, is like a great grandfather to Lofn due to his son being married to her grandmother. He sees her as an opportunity to collect souls for himself and has offered his mark multiple times, although she has always refused. Grazzt seeks to claim her for himself before Bane can do so, essentially competing with him. He and Lofn share a bond when it comes to defending what is rightfully theirs, they’ve killed many devils together and even his siblings chosen ones.
Yes this is all canon to our dnd campaign, yes this all happened. Four years is a long time for a campaign and a lot can happen ♡

btw! Is it possible to use your screencaps of Lofn and Zevlor (with credit? for a project? If not, I'll use other pictures. :D I want to make a set with your lore because I adore it.
I wonder what Aedric thinks of his adopted siblings? And also of Zevlor! in fact what about Lofn's siblings? The eldest is king, but what about the others? Do they advise Lofn or her brother?
Yes! Absolutely thank you so much for asking<333
Aedric and his blood brother were the only two who were adopted, but Signa and him are extremely close. They've both even fought next to one another during wars. Signa was in Lynnania's womb when she took in Aedric and his brother, which puts Signa 8 years younger than Aedric. And Yes! Aedric does help advise Signa when their mother isn’t around (Signa is a huge mamas boy). Is always at Signa’s side when he travels, definition of “I trust you with my life”.
Aedric wasn’t sure of Zevlor at first, he and Signa actually met Zevlor before Lofn introduced them. They were off looking for their missing sister after she was abducted by the mindflayers. After finding out Zevlor saved his beloved sister, Aedric warmed up to the tiefling more and for his sister’s sake supported Zevlor moving into Thay. After some time, Aedric warmed up to Zevlor and eventually the two established a trusting bond. Will walk around Thay once Zevlor is accustomed to it and watch over the city together.
Visela is off doing her own thing, on her dragon. She resides just outside Thay in a temple that belonged to her step grandfather (Grazzt's son) with her husband (a man who was supposed to be the next king of his kingdom but refused it to live a peaceful life with Visela and his sons). Aedric visits often, he is very close with the two boys and also looks up to how strong Visela is. She does not advise any of them usually, simply because she is focusing on her two boys.
Aedric is very protective of Lofn due to her being the youngest and the next to wear the crown. She clung to him and Signa a lot when she was little, especially Aedric since Signa was usually busy learning how to rule. Now that she is older, Aedric does try and advise her best he can and will even be the one who physically pulls her away from a bad situation/ an argument that may get out of hand for no reason.
Hope this helps my dear <333 Sorry for the lateness!!!
