#Lulu’s Whumptober Prompts

Hi! I don't know if you're done taking requests for whumptober, but could you do one where Bruce gets hit by cuddle pollen and immediately goes clingy mama bear on his kids and cuddles them until they can't even think straight because of the affection overload?

I’m not gonna lie, I just might be able to fit this in. I have more requests than I have days, hahaha!!! If not a Whumptober oneshot, this is definitely making it into the Mystery Monday queue, which is bi-weekly along with my other regular updates. Fantastic.

Whumptober 2023

Prompt No. 01- Safety Net

When she was a child, Luna’s father read to her the story of Alice in Wonderland. Out of everything she liked about the story, the girl admired Alice-how brave she was in the face of so much chaos. “ But…I couldn’t do it, Daddy.” Luna admits when Hollies tucks her in. 

“ Couldn’t do what, Lulu?” 

“ Fall…Alice fell down the rabbit hole and wasn’t even a little bit afraid.” She shakes her head. “ I couldn’t do that.” 

When Hollis looks at his daughter again, his lips curl into that sweet smile that no one could forget. “ Of course you could, Luna-do you know how I know?”

“ No...” 

Luna closes her eyes when he presses a kiss on her forehead. 

“ Because I will be there to support you.” 

“ I’m an excellent pilot-” Luna declares, “-why you think I’m-I’m so useless, I have no goddamned idea!”

“ Luna please-” 

“ No! This discussion is over-I’m going to pilot for my team!” The woman declares. “ Maybe doing-maybe this will show you that I’m not so fucking stupid as you think!” 

She watches Hollis’ mouth fall open, how he takes two steps away from her, his back a little too close to the wall. “ I-” He tries, and she can see his voice die in his throat. 

The woman straightens herself, her arms folding. She gives the older soldier one more chance. 

When he doesn’t say anything, she spins on her heel and walks out, and Hollis can see where her friends are waiting for her by their vehicles. He fills the space in the door frame, watches them depart, and as if he’s ordered to, the man tilts his head back and gazes at the clear sky above him. 

“ Hey-” the pilot flinches when a hand reaches her shoulder. 

Evan retracts her hand, her eyes softening whenever Luna turns to address her. “ I didn’t mean to scare you.” 

“ You didn’t scare me. I’m just a little on edge…” Luna bites her lip, blinking until her eyes flutter shut. “ Please, I can do this. He was just trying to mess with me, that’s all.” 

“ Luna, you are the best pilot I know.” The marine assures her friend. “ But that-I think he was just trying to tell you he worries about you. Hollis has a hard time talking about his own feelings, you know that.” 

The pilot breathes in deep. Before she can admit that she likely became angry with her father for a bad reason, there’s shouting and orders, followed by everyone loading in the helicopter. Luna takes the time to decide she’ll make it up to her father first by returning to him alive. Safe and sound. 

At the right age, Luna discovered that one difference between her and Alice was that the latter’s world contained creatures and the Red Queen-all things that she could escape from. Once Alice was home, nothing from Wonderland could reach her. 

In Luna’s case, the real world and Wonderland were merged. Everyday she spent awake, she had to put up with the chaos and still return home with her head still on her shoulders.

When she boards the aircraft, Evan’s shouting that they need to evacuate the area. Jody and Rouen are dragging Augustin in while the pilot starts up the aircraft, she glances back at the trio just in time to witness Augustin spit blood on the floor. “ You need to get this bird off the ground now!” Evan barks. 

The helicopter becomes airborne before the enemy can reach them; Luna grabs her radio, informs the base that her comrade is injured, that they had to evacuate-

She sees it from the corner of her eye first. Her grip on the radio tightens and doesn’t let go until the missile hits the side of the aircraft. Everything starts to spin and she can’t hear her team anymore. 

There’s glass shattering and fire igniting from all sides of the pilot and it’s all she can do to regain any sort of control over the aircraft. She ducks her head in sync with an explosion from the tail of the aircraft and pulls desperately on the throttle, nearly breaking it as the entire craft windmills toward the earth. 

Luna shuts her eyes while falling further down the rabbit hole.

👉👈 I’ve never actually submitted a whumptober request before, but I had an idea for a little Jason & Roy thing :>

(that, of course, got out of hand as soon as I started writing it—I am so sorry lmao)

it would be almost right after the confrontation in UTRH—basically just the immediate aftermath of that whole ordeal. A badly hurt Jason who’s plan fell to pieces, and who’s dad basically just said “I value the joker’s life more than yours.” (If not exactly, then I can absolutely see Jason taking it that way if he’s distraught enough.) ((and up to u whether it’s the canon where Bruce hit his shoulder/neck with the batarang or the one where he hit his gun, for a little extra angst potential))

but yeah. Roy comes to get him when he calls. (of course he does.) and Jason deals with the emotional implications of the entire fuckin night he’s just had. Maybe tries to figure out where to go next. (Maybe crime alley even shows up for him a little too. They know Red hood’s been planning something for a while now. Heard/saw the explosion. Neighbors stop by perhaps? Basically first time he realizes that he’s theirs as much as they’re his)

(how are Jason and Roy already tight if it’s so soon after Jason returned? That I cannot answer—I only just realized it lmao)

Hm, that does have a lot of potential!!! I don’t write Bad Dad Batman, but I could definitely do something with this anyway, and I am always a sucker for Jason & Roy brothership writing. Thanks for the submission!!! You did great. 🥰

Whumptober ONCE MORE then I shall leave you in peace: Kon gets thrown into a tank of green sludge during a fight on a YJ mission and has a flashback to CADMUS

A character I don’t normally write— I like it!!!

Whumptober AGAIN: Zsasz is actually able to get Robin Steph (Detective Comics 796) and takes her somewhere to kill her, and Jason’s the one who ends up finding her. Dealer’s choice on how he reacts to the Girl Wonder.

Ooo, this is an intriguing one. I would have to do further research before venturing forth…

For Whumptober: Red Hood!Jason moves forward with his plan to attack Robin!Tim in Titans Tower but somehow finds himself displaced (either in time or in the multiverse) and actually ends up attacking Robin!Jason instead

Wow. I… have nothing else to say to this. Just. Wow.
