Overall: Great thriller and would recommended. Not a romance -romance otome game, but the lore makes up for it. Follow the studio that made the series for more @lucydreamgame

You got to know some things before you start playing and get frustrated if you aren't getting the endings you want.  I been playing for 2 weeks (yes 2 weeks.....) so I got all tricks especially as I looked at others’ experiences here on Tumblr. 

You can play the game without buying anything, you just need to save but I will get into that later how that works. Hit me up if anything should be updated or changed. 

*I say UPDATED (Jan 2021) since as I was playing an update came up that changed the wording. Options should be in the same place but it can throw you off. 

ROUTES (7 endings total*)

Ethan, you can get him easily by paying for this choices in game and following the guide below. 

Harry, this is where things gets messy since you will need items to raise his affection to get his route (you can get general items or his specific item like a plant kit by doing repairs) since just picking all the correct options isn't enough. But I suggest a more time-consuming option, saving for the outfits and play the critical chapters correctly. Since by doing critical chapters, you raise ALL the fellows' affection- great if you plan to try all the routes. By doing this, you will also lose the need to get some of the fellows’ items. 

Zion, same with Harry. He has options you need to pay for so you can raise his affection and then get his route. You can get his item in repairs or if you get most of the critical chapters and do them correctly then no items are necessary. 

Eugene, has more options that need to be brought in the story in the story and needs much more affection than the fellows listed above. You will need to get all the critical chapters, pick the correct options, AND get his item in repairs for his ending. Give him all that and you will get his ending. (Click here to see post, read notes)

Lawrence, a.k.a. Deep Route he needs all of the above. Pay for his options (and all the choices are singled out--- important note since if there are two paid choice you get them both if you buy one of them), get all the right choice, correctly play the critical chapters, give him items, AND go with him on patrols/nightwatches (cool thing about these- you get CGs by reading them). To do those, you need tickets. You can get tickets in repairs but it's better to save up 300 rubies and buy 2 tickets at the store. (Click here to see post, read notes)

TRUE ENDING! You can also get the true ending, but you need to get 3 ending before (not including the normal ending) it’s given to you automatically. I suggest doing Ethan, Harry, and Zion (in that order) since they are the easiest and don't take as much rubies as the others. However, you understand the lore of the game better if you play everything. 

If you just one one fellow's ending and you don't want to buy the outfits then maybe save up for the tickets since going on to partols/night watches since those increase affection. 

The difficulty and level of rubies needed increase like this: Ethan < Harry<Zion<Eugene<Lawrence 

*not including normal ending since you get that anyway!

RUBIES

For the love of the fellows, DON’T BUY the items in the story. Just watch the ad since that item doesn't roll back. Meaning your purchase was made in vain. 

I suggest you play the game and read everything in your FIRST PLAY. Then just put it in auto speed x2 in the background to collect those rubies. The game takes roughly a hour (bc of the ads that play after some chapters) to run through but you will get 25 rubies just by doing that and then get 30 rubies by cashing in the double puzzle pieces (need 5 repeats). That's 55 rubies in each run. 

You can get 15 rubies daily just by watching ads. 

You will get 10 rubies from the guys randomly and some rubies in your inbox. The amount ranges from 10, 15, and 20...

You can also get rubies by following the Dev on twitter, sharing the outfits or the CGs on Instagram and Facebook. 

Once you buy all the options and the outfits for the story, save up your rubies to get tickets at the store. (300 rubies for 2 and then 1500 for 10). Don't throw them all at repairs to speed up the time, it's better to watch the ads if you don't have rubies to spare.  

I don't buy anything from any of the games I play, but I read that people don't think that the best move either since the packages prices seems a little high. 

GAME MECHANICS

To get an specific character ending, you need to MAX out their affection with your choices and actions towards them. That can be with the correct choices, giving them items, using tickets on them, playing the critical chapters to raise overall affection, or paying for their specific choices. 

You don't lose affection, but you do lose chances to gain affection is you don't pick the best answer. Some answers will help you get affection but others will Max them out more. 

Do repairs whenever you can since you can get important items!! (Important since I didn't know what repairs were in the beginning and that tripping me up in the beginning of me playing).

As you all know from playing, both Ain and Adrian were born on the day of the big blackout of 2075 which occured 24 years ago.

The first memory implant surgery succeeded in 2072, which was 25 years ago.

Well, the recipient of the surgery was Lucas (aka Syd), and the operation occured when he was 5 years old.

Dell- 5 years old

Hansol was given one year to build Dell, and 2 years to give her happy memories. Given Hansol’s skill, there’s a chance that he finished her before the 1 year allocated, so to play it safe I just counted the day he first started making her as the day of her birth.

Anyhow, she was more or less 3 when she arrived at Vigil, and she’s spent two years with team. 3+2=5

Ages I’m not sure about:

Jeff- Around 50 years old

I know that figure is extremely shocking, I thought so too XD

First of all, we know that Jeff created Mode for hacking. Assuming that he assembled Mode to aid in his occupation, this probably occured after he graduated college and founded Vigil. I don’t know when he founded his company but I’ll just assume that it was right after he graduated (around 22).

Mode says that it’s way older than Ain which makes sense since it’s over 30 years old. This explains its descripition as a robot with the spirit of a middle-aged freelancer.

Mode could be any age in the 30’s range, but I know that it’s at least 31. Well if Jeff built Mode when he was around 22, then 22+31=53.

With that being said, once again, I don’t know when exactly Jeff created Mode so he could honestly even be in his 60’s though he doesn’t look thattt old.

Honestly speaking, Jeff could’ve picked up an interest in hacking when he was younger, though with his... intellectual abilities... I’d say he had to have been at least in his teen years to build a robot. Either way Jeff has to at least be in his late 40’s.

(Tbh, I imagine Mode came in a futuristic ikea assembly box. I mean it doesn’t seem to be the only bunny robot around, so the design mostly likely wasn’t original XD)

And last, but not least, Hansol!!!

Hansol- Around 35 years old

Omg, I really struggled with this one...

I didn’t pick up any major hints as to what his age was, so this is really just a shot in the dark.

Well, let’s see... Yujin was dying when Adrian was 7 years old, so I’m going to assume she passed before he turned 8.

Adrian had to deliver Yujin’s body to Hansol asap (within a day or two), otherwise her body would’ve started to decay past the saving point.

Hansol would’ve had to already have made a name for himself as a well known engineer for Adrian to know to go to him, so I’m guessing Hansol was at the very least 18.

That make’s Hansol around 11 years older than Adrian and Ain, so 24+11=35.

So that pretty much sums it up for my speculations! My apologies for not including the side characters, but I found no evidence for them whatsoever so...

Devastation! A Love Letter to Mystic Code

Few months ago, LucyDream announced that Mystic Code will no longer be available, and true to their word, it’s no more on the App Store.

This is the third otome game I’ve every played in my life -- I played Mystic Messenger and @lucydreamgame ‘s Dangerous Fellows prior to this -- but this game was the first one that grabbed my true and full attention and affections.

A sad thing for those who never got to play it. 

And to this day, I look back fondly on the wit of the story, the charming characters, and the passion and thought put behind each forked decision. Heck, it made a full reboot to upgrade the experience! 

No otome game I have played since then has quite so raptly made me return to play it each time.

Which is why now that it is officially gone, and “spoilers” are basically now a nonentity, I’m going to pay homage to this game on my tumblr. 

On my laptop I’ve written lore, headcanons, tidbits, and scenarios of the characters and the Mystic Code universe that I thought would never see the light of day... but now it will be gazed upon under a glittering spotlight.
