#Lucy like not knowing if she’s too overbearing and prying

So my theory is regarding why Helena was Noah’s girlfriend as opposed to another sorority sister or maybe work friend. So if she was a sorority sister, I think she would already be with Myka, and that’s not the vibe I got from their brief mention. Assuming that my vibe detecting abilities are correct, I think it’s interesting that they aren’t together yet so I doubt they’ve met…or at least not met except maybe right after Noah’s death when Helena would have been consumed with grief. Kate doesn’t have a lot of friends, so if Helena was a friend from work or something, I think there’s a decent chance they would have met before at some point, but if she’s connected to Kate through Noah, there’s a better chance she’s not particularly close location wise to Kate and/or Myka. I think the main reason Helena is connected through Noah is because at some point during the filming of the show, there’s going to be an important anniversary (whether it’s Noah’s death date, birthday, or some dating anniversary, I don’t know…honestly it could even be Kate’s birthday and she’s just missing the traditions she shared with her brother (maybe it’s the 10th birthday she’s faced without him?)…I’m leaning towards Noah’s DOD or DOB) and during that day, they’ll talk to reminisce and just remind each other that they’re not alone in their grief and that Noah is still remembered; after they talk, Kate opens up a bit with Lucy about her brother and how his loss affected her. The question is if the date in question happens during the Lucy or Cara trial marriage. If it’s during Cara’s, maybe that day there’s some sort of group activity so Kate can confide in Lucy, and there’s the potential for drama if Cara doesn’t really notice much difference in Kate’s demeanor than normal but Lucy immediately pegs that something is wrong/she’s upset about something, and not to mention the drama from Marcella if Lucy immediately checks on Kate when it’s Marcella’s turn for the trial marriage; even if Cara does notice the difference, it would still be painful if Kate confides in someone else, especially after only a few weeks compared to her knowing Kate for years. If it does happen during Lucy’s trial, it could be interesting to see how Lucy balances trying to be supportive without being overbearing and trying to make herself available to talk while trying not to be too prying since she won’t even have known Kate for a month.

Ultimatum AU is just so good, and I’m so excited to see where it goes next and to see if my theory is anywhere close to what happens.

omg i am loving these detailed headcanons!! there are some small parts of this that are close, but i will say i'm not planning a big "anniversary emotion reveal" like noah's birthday or what we jews call a yahrzeit (death anniversary). i like to try to work that stuff in more organically than have an external grief motivator. which is absolutely no shade on people who love that! it's just not what makes my writer brain tick.

but i did just write a helena and myka chapter today and i had a ton of fun with it, i hope you'll like it!!
