oh to be a nonverbal autistic silly little flea dehumanized by everyone i encounter and called a literal monster.
francoeur is a fucking brilliant character.
their setup for his true reveal is genuinely phenomenal.
Tumblr media
the way she falls and he immediately catches her. the music stops like everything is resetting. because up until that moment everything visual and auditory in the film has been trying to depict him as a monster. his adorable chirps warped into terrifying alien growling and his gentle sweet appearance stripped down to just his eyes and towering silhouette. one of most textbook ways to dehumanize a person is to remove their face. we dont get to see his face until the big reveal, already serving to make us rethink him as a character.
and then she falls
and he immediately catches her
THE WAY YOU CAN REWATCH AND SEE HOW HES JUST TRYING TO PEACEFULLY INTERACT WITH PEOPLE. HE WAS DRAWN IN BY THE SOFT MUSIC OF THE OLD LADY'S PHONOGRAPH AND PERCHES ON HER BALCONY TO LISTEN, BUT SHE SCREECHES AND HE JUMPS AWAY, PETRIFIED.
HE TRIED TO PUT HIS HAND ON THE MANS SHOULDER TO CALM HIM DOWN, BUT HE PULLS BACK UNTIL ALL FRANCOEUR HAS IS HIS COAT, AND HES JUST SO CONFUSED. HE JUST STARES AT THE COAT, CURIOUS BUT ABSOLUTELY DUMBFOUNDED.
HE DESERVES THE WORLD HONESTLY.

Considering that the Broadway Musical of Andrew Lloyd Webber's "The Phantom of The Opera had already ended its performance last year, I've recently dug out to what happens to be (if not) the Most Obscure Phantom Adaptation ever that's more drawn to inspiration rather than an Adaptation titled, "A Monster In Paris". Why hardly known as the "Less Phantom Adaptation" ever? Well, you see, it's mainly one of those Both Original/Inspired Adaptational Story that does quite have a few of its similarities from Gaston Leroux's work (compare with Most Famous Inspirational Adaptational-Based Films like with The Lion King (Hamlet) and even Frozen (The Snow Queen)). Anyways, yes, I am one of the few people who do consider this Film as a Phantom Adaptation despite many of its Changes from the Source Material, but it still felt a bit more of a Comedic version of the Horror Story itself (much like with Rocket Pictures' Gnome version of One of the Famous Shakespeare Tragedies, "Romeo and Juliet"). Though, like with "Gnomeo and Juliet", it did flesh-out more of the Characters' Personalities and did clean out most of the Dark stuff as it does play out as a Friendly Version of My Most Favorite Gothic Horror Novel of all time. Here I drew Lucille and Francoeur together, because while if rather not if I do like this Ship or Not, I consider their own Relationship more as a Platonic version of the Death/Maiden trope (that, or because maybe I just have no idea rather or not if Francoeur is already supposed to be an Anthro, despite being an Insect). Side Note; I am Perfectly Fine with Human/Anthro pairs.
But also, Another sidenote; Did you know that this Movie was directed by one of the Few Folks that made "Shark Tale"? 🤡 Lucille and Francoeur (c) Bibo Films

Paris Heart
Paris is the most romantic city in the world, truth be told it's also the most unusual but no one's complaining.
(Or I wrote something for this couple inspired by the ball scene in the movie Labyrinth. Coverart found on Pinterest.)
Tumblr media
The music of the giant ballroom gently flowed throughout and between the beautiful decorations wrapped around the walls. The way the candles lit up the surroundings and made the shadows beautifully dance against the walls. The way the smell of delicious food and flowers wafted through the air. The beautiful music mixing with the laughter and talking of the guests around the whole place. It was almost like a dream. Everyone having a great time behind their masked faces, no one telling who they were or maybe that was all part of the game. The fun of not knowing who you were speaking too and being able to be your own person tonight. But maybe she wasn't meant to join the fun and laughter that everyone else seemed to be having. Being maskless and alone wondering the ball was the fate of the girl in the flowing white dress with angelic wings. Blindly walking and circles, moving around. The sounds, the smells, the atmosphere. It was starting to make her dizzy. Everyway she'd turn she would catch a glimpse of a man with red eyes.
Very familiar gleaming eyes. Her dizzied mind knew not to be afraid or excited about the way it gazed and pierced her soul. The way he looked at her with those beautiful devious eyes. Promising only trouble ahead. Well maybe she was looking for trouble, her head was kept on a swivel, always looking around herself in the see of masked laughter. Sometimes she'd catch a glimpse of him or maybe it was just her clouded emotional mind. At this point she didn't know if she was searching for him or trying to ensure she was far from him. But however she put it, the circles and laughter was starting to get dizzier and dizzier. She barely noticed when someone tall and with a mask, bowed to her. Grabbed her hand. And lead her to dance. Maybe it was because she was temporarily blinded by the mask upon his face, or the swirls of the graceful dance they spun. But there was no mistaking those eyes. Perhaps she was crazy. Perhaps her dizzy mind was clouding any judgement. Maybe she was under some kind of spell from those red eyes. But when that face smiled at her-
She smiled back.
Over and over. Around and around the carousel run. Merry-go-round of laughter and devious serenity in the dizzying candlelights. Masked faces displayed with joy under the comfortable disguise of fabric. Faster and faster they cheered with laughter. Going circular motioned towards the echoes of harmonious chaos that was the music in the air. Happiness, happiness they cried. Come join in our ravenous love for the dance. Join us in the beginning of the rapture of hearts and the delight of souls tonight in our gleaming disguises and beautiful fabrics. Forget about sorrows and troubles for tonight you belong to the music and madness of the motion.
Tensions no more. Hearts a light. Blood hitter than fire. Just all for this moment of herself in his arms and the eyes that smiled at her in the way she gazed does eyed up at him.
For the movement and motion of tonight was theirs to tear apart and put back together again.

I had made this crossover ship collage of Lucille x Bunnymund for MarissaTheCuteFriend on DeviantArt as gift. Even though DeviantArt has the ship as "Angel of Hope," people on YouTube are calling them "Bunnille."

You know about A Monster In Paris?! I love that movie! So underated! So cool!
I SURE DO. How could I not? Gentle characters are my biggest weakness and Francoeur is the sweetest boy I've ever seen. I mean look at him! 😭✨

Lucille is a French name, which means “light.” The name comes from the Latin word “lux,” which means “light,” and the suffix “ille,” which means “something small.” So, essentially, Lucille means “a small light.”

“No more sob stories.”
Happy Valentines!! This is a bit of a self indulgent doodle — baby’s first hijack fic when I was 13 was I’ll See It When I Believe It by OldBeginningNewEnding, and the original character of Cupid has lived in my brain ever since. She’s That Bitch ❤️🕷️🌹
