Because now that insurance being tied to a job has officially shown that it’s useless, independent contracting/freelancing maybe on the rise, but for jobs that used to be safe. This may not rock with people in the so-called Blue states, but in the battleground states. They will resonate with his message of keeping “puppeteers” from taking over Washington. Also, the Democratic Party may suffer from in-fighting as many paint the assumed nomination as more of the same with views that favors the centralist people while most people questions not only his ability to remain sane (sounds familiar?), lucid (sounds familiar?), but his record with women and his sexual assault allegations (sounds... dammit...).
Chances: Toss-up, unless the Democrats challenge the nomination, which will seem less lightly as we crawl to August, or that the running mate is someone who’s the total opposite of Biden in very sense of the word. Trump is GOING to change his running mate as a response if this happens. Maybe I’ll be wrong, but history showed that people rarely listen to it.
