My thoughts:

I wasn’t expecting us to finally get the fight from that night, so I was NOT prepared. This - When Azzi’s 18, Paige says those words, ones that sound a lot like giving up, and teaches Azzi that sometimes in life, even the people you thought would never make you feel this way, are the ones who'll break you the most – this broke me babe, and to think Azzi still held on despite everything. Like I know Paige was just hurting but maybe she does deserve the suffering (a little bit) after all.

The entire summer scene was fucking elite. Poor Katie and Tim, they just wanted a. nice. family. dinner!! And instead they had to sit through their daughter’s gay ass drama lmao, #freeKatieandTim

The bros standing ten toes down for Pazzi ✊ Jon and José not even trying sent me, like no sorry, P is our sister-in-law but we appreciate you dropping by. AND DREW, our MVP - Drew had looked over to Azzi then, his eyes wide and accusing, “you can’t be Azzi’s girlfriend.” – little man was a bit traumatised, like sorry pookie who is this girl and why is she claiming to be something she can’t possibly be? He’s the GOAT fr, I know when he and P got back home, he scolded tf outta her and it went something like- Drew: “Why are you letting Azzi be other people’s girlfriend?? That’s OUR pookie.” P: “I know, I’m trying bro!”. Drew: “Well try harder!!” *stomps away*.

Then the Cayman Islands - UCLA and UConn to each other: 😡😤🔪🤬🖕👿 while Azzi and Paige: 🥰😍🫂🤩💗👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩 and then there’s probably Carol like: 😩 (she’s so over all this)

And then the ending! I’m guessing P left without saying goodbye because she probably saw the text from Zoe and once again was promptly reminded of their reality? 🥺

Speaking of Zoe, oh girl I’m so sorry, you deserve better – like damn, she just wanted to share some fucking pizza!!

Also, jealous Azzi making an appearance! (I’m such a shameful sucker for the jealous Paige and Azzi trope, I’m sorry!)

Oh and one final thing on part 3 – babe I know you said writing **** was taking years off your life, but we really appreciate your sacrifice because it was absolute 🔥🔥

What’s next (potentially)?

Oh man where to from here huh… I feel like Paige is eventually gonna get to the point where she's like "choose me, pick me", only to realise that Azzi just can’t do it cause she can't trust her with her heart, and I know it's gonna hurt bad. And even though Paige needs and wants more, she’ll also take whatever she can get even if it’s slowly killing her, because it’s Azzi and she’d rather have a little bit of her than none at all 😔

Also, a tension-filled game between them in the final 4 coming up maybe??

That part where Katie shoots Azzi a look of disappointment – I wonder if momma Fudd will ever call out Azzi over whatever’s happening between her and Paige and poor Zoe?

Either way, something tells me we’ve still got a lot of angst coming our way, and look as much as I want our babies to finally just get their shit together, I just can’t say no to more angst you know, I’m just a girl. 🤷‍♀️

Oh and this part - she’s even less sure about how she’d survived that one year where they’d practically lived in each other’s skins – is this something (I'm guessing this is their covid era?) we go into a bit more?? I do love all the allusions/references to how long they’ve always been something more and the blurring of the lines but never fully crossing it obviously until that fateful summer of 2022. I guess it does explain somewhat, though, why Paige felt so betrayed about Azzi not choosing her (UConn) because baby girl probably thought “ok once we’re both at UConn, we can finally be together 😌” - like her dream/vision of them playing together and also being together got ripped away from her ❤️‍🩹

still putting robin in a guest room by season 4 doesn’t make sense. They’re calling steve’s bed “the bed” robin has permanently taken over the left bedside table. Steve is constantly getting on to her about leaving her (empty) glass of water there all day. sometimes Steve puts a hand under his pillow and gets poked by the earring robin spent the last week looking for.

actual codependent things I think robin and steve could do because they’re kinda fucked up and traumatised:

this is actually already canon: Steve being self-sacrificing, always putting himself in danger if it means robin (and the others) will be safe. Steve making sure the Russians were focused on torturing him and not robin, being the one to swim down to Watergate instead of anyone else.

I think robin puts off applying to college because she doesn’t want to leave Steve behind in hawkins. this is her own version of self sacrifice: she’s sacrificing her happiness and freedom by choosing to stay in hawkins. she probably feels guilty when she does start sending out applications.

also kinda canon: a little too involved in each other’s romantic relationships. Steve trying to figure out if vickie likes girls through her film choices and where she pauses comes to mind.

a more toxic way this can manifest: trying to protect each other from heartbreak by trying to prevent conflict. icing out romantic interests that they don’t like, stepping into their arguments to try and sort them out for them. very “it’s you and me, me and you, and your friend Steve” energy, but not that cute.

maybe more but these are definitely the main ways it shows up in their relationship

My #1 post of 2022

I was thinking about the head canon of Steve being Italian, through his mom because Harrington is like super Irish, and I have some ideas

first off, I don’t think Steve can speak Italian super fluently. I think his mom was first generation and she worked really hard to sound American and so she didn’t really speak it at home. Steve only heard Italian when his mom was on a long distance phone call with her family back home or when she got homesick and listened to an Italian language radio station. Steve loved hanging out with his mom though, and he loved listening in on her conversations because I know my boy is a little gossip, so he picked up on understanding the language fairly well, but never really got the hang of speaking it

until, when he was like 10 years old and they went to Italy for the summer. his nonna, who he had literally only talked to on the phone, was dying and she wanted her daughter to come back home. she and Steve go together, his dad comes for a couple weeks but then has to go back to work, and they’re there for months, fully immersed. he even spends a month at school with his cousins, who he gets along with pretty well. that’s not to say it was easy at first, definitely not

Steve probably spent the first few weeks there quiet as a mouse just listening to everyone speak. everyone thought he was just a dumb American, chastising his mother for not teaching him their language, teasing him because they thought he couldn’t understand. but they all get surprised when he speaks up when one of his aunts is going in on his mom and he calls her out in actually pretty good Italian. after that, he gets included more, his cousins discover that he’s actually pretty funny besides being American. he still gets teased because his accent needs some serious work, but by the time his Nonna dies and his dad is flying down for the funeral and to take them back to America, he feels pretty damn Italian

he half hopes that he and his mom could stay here, where he has family he actually gets a long with, but his dad’s kinda mad at how native they’ve gone while he’s been gone. now he’s the odd one out and he doesn’t like it. he brings them back to hawkins and issues an Italian ban because he doesn't like not knowing what his wife and son are talking about. and then news about the affair breaks out

see, while Steve and his mom were in Italy, hanging out with family, looking after a sick old lady, and preparing for a funeral, mr harrington was getting dirty with his secretary. so now his mom is paranoid that it will happen again if he gets out of her sights so she ends up going with him on a bunch of business trips. leaving poor Steve alone. and without the practice Steve’s Italian skills go downhill until high school and he starts taking a second language

not many people choose to take Italian, more going for French or Spanish, so it’s a small class. he thought it would be easy for him, since he already knew Italian even if he was out of practice, but this wasn’t the regional Italian his mom and her family spoke, this was The Official Italian Language. so it’s not as easy as he thought it would be but he actually manages to pick it up pretty quickly. yes, Italian is one of his best classes. yes, his accent is still pretty bad

anyway I don't think Steve keeps it a secret that he’s actually pretty good at Italian but not many people know. most of the kids in hawkins are barely passing Spanish or French, the few that are good at languages don’t think of him as someone good at languages so they don’t bother him. it’s not until robin claims she can speak Italian fluently that it even comes up

basically I think Steve and robin gossip in Italian bc they love that only they know what they’re saying. Steve teaches her some of the regional dialect he grew up on, she goes holy shit this means that we can hit up Sicily on our Europe trip and Steve’s very happy about that (because yay best friends trip and also he can visit his family again!)

Large spoilers for the original AI, the Annihilation Route in particular, and some... small(?) to medium spoilers for Nirvana Initiative, particularly for mentioning the context of Explosion End. Is... is any of the pretext for what happens to Date in NI really a spoiler, when it's one of the first lines the game feeds you as Mizook? Hm. Close-ups for the picture attached should be below the cut. 

I mentioned back in my art inspired by Lost Time Memory that I had made my own design for a post-Annihilation route Mizuki set during the time period of her half of Nirvana Initiative. This post is to elaborate on my thoughts for that, as well as how I would envision my own take on the design. 

Mizuki's hair is in her youthful ponytail and not her more... mature(?) twin braids because, honestly, I prefer the ponytail. Could also not be assed to draw them again, but that's less important. 

Then, there are her more unique clothing items. Fingerless gloves to emulate Ota, the loser she thought of as something like a big brother. A fanny pack she has around her waist, to carry on her youthful tradition of always being well-stocked, now including her pipe and Evolver (no, I don't know if that's a feasible way to holster a gun, shut up), and being covered in stickers. An A-Set sticker for Iris, a Captain America-looking ass sticker for Ota, and an Adorabbit sticker for herself, though you could probably stretch that it's also meant to represent Date too. The fanny pack itself is meant to look similar to her schoolbag from elementary, as well as Iris' own pack from OG. There is also the element I'm not super sure of, of Mizuki having the centrepiece of Hitomi's necklace in her pocket. On one hand, I'm not sure it'd survive Hitomi getting blown. On the other, if it did and I go with Date taking it and keeping it because he remembered enough to know he loved her, I'm not sure if he'd hand it to Ryuki along with Aiba to take care of or if Date'd keep Hitomi on him. 

And there is, of course, her pièce de résistance, Date's coat. The one she wears over her shoulders, to try and retain the memory of the warmth her father in all but blood had tried to grant her, if awkwardly. After dealing with the same stubbornness that haunted me figuring out how to make the jacket work in my personal Falco!Date design, I decided on her wearing it with one button but just over her shoulders, again to act like a hug but also so it doesn't restrict her movement, since it is... pretty huge on her, even grown up. The upside of that is that it obscures her movements if she ever needs to draw a weapon.

okie my thoughts here we go

1. edwina is now my daughter. i’ve adopted her, i will take care of her and make sure she marries a fucking king, not a prince, and she will rule the entire european continent. she deserves nothing but the absolute best of everything and i love her 😔 her character development is one of my favourites of all time, i loved watching her grow and choose herself, her happiness and her desires over marrying a rich man who doesn’t love her, and over continuing to be an extension of her sister instead of her own person. her love for her family and her empathy, care and kindness to others are so touching. the scene between her and the king literally had tears in my eyes i love her so much and if she’s not in season 3 i’m rioting

2. kathony….. GIRL. PANTIES SOPPING. THIGHS STUCK. KNEES SHATTERED. BACK BROKEN. there’s not enough space for me to talk abt how much i love them as individuals and as a couple. the way anthony went from being my mortal enemy in season 1 to this Man… this delicious and deeply traumatised man i want to fix and perhaps strap down… exquisite. it’s crazy how much better they are as characters and as a couple compared to simon and daphne 😭 the plot itself holds so much more weight bc, unlike daphne and simon, they’re not the ones standing in their own way, so the stakes are more interesting and their CHEMISTRYYYY bitch the sex is palpable. i was shaking. every fight and speech they had licherally was foreplay to me. there’s just no words i fucking adore them ok

3. miss kate sharma… miss simone ashley… you own my heart i wanna be besties i wanna be sisters i wanna go dancing and dress shopping i wanna inadvertently start an enemies to lovers romance with a hot rich dude the fuck. she rlly was the fucking jewel of the season noah fence to my daughter edwina but kate stole this bitch and now she owns this bitch. her devotion to her family, her value of independence, her self-assuredness and confidence, her never-ending need to emasculate men AS SHE SHOULD 👏🏽 i love her so much she is THEE brown girl representation that has been needed and i can’t wait to see more of her

4. penelope……… for shame. and i trusted you. ok for the first part of the season i was on her side and i understood why she was doing it but then. she went off the rails fr 😭 by the end of the season i was equally heartbroken and a lil bit satisfied bc Yes she’s treated fucking terribly by the entire ton and i completely understand her need for revenge but she also betrayed her only and closest friend. that being said i’m going to fucking behead collin 😐 the most forgettable of the bridgertons and then on top of that he’s fatphobic… die by my sword

5. no real thoughts abt benedict tbh he’s meh so far. like i don’t rlly care abt his artistic pursuits or the women he likes it’s all filler to me. good luck on his future endeavours 🙏🏽

6. it’s wack how they wrote daphne to be likeable and sensible now that she’s not the protagonist 😭 for once she came on screen and i wasn’t throwing miscellaneous vegetables. good for her.

7. ELOIIIIISE i love her. nothing she did in this season didn’t either make me laugh or endear her to me. i don’t rlly have much to say except i’m grateful for her occasional genuinely comedic relief and for her being the only woman not chasing dick lmao it’s true sometimes we women just wanna read a book 🧍🏽‍♀️ her friendship with theo was sweet but not rlly all that to me, i was way more invested with her shit with penelope and her own feminist progress. her last encounter with pen had me in all my states tbh she handled it so well and i am sad but i get it 😔

if i forgot abt anyone its bc i was not paying attention and i was too busy thinking abt kate telling anthony he vexes her and him saying there’s no place on earth that’s far enough for him to stop wanting her

just finished bridgerton season 2 and i am in shock at how good that was compared to season 1... every interaction between kate and anthony had me edging. when they finally kissed i deadass got pregnant. posting more thoughts on it later if anyone wants to hear
