Louvre: Helpful tips
Planning your first trip to one of the world’s biggest museums - Louvre? You might find rather useful tips in here.

Tip 1
As the museum is too big, you would need a couple of days to see the Louvre in whole. So, make a list of your preferences and prioritize the exhibitions you do not want to miss.
Tip 2
Best time to visit the museum is either on Wednesdays and Fridays when it is open until 10 p.m. and 15 minutes earlier its opening time, 9 a.m. to avoid queues. But take into consideration the fact that on Tuesdays the museum is closed, so you might face a long-tail queue on Wednesday. It is also closes on national holidays such as May 1, December 25, January 1.
Tip 3
Know the ticket prices beforehand. Regular ticket price is € 19. With a museum pass or a student card you can enter the museum with a discounted price and for the European Union residents under 26 the entrance is free.
Tip 4
Another recommendation is to book the tickets online, best 20 days beforehand as the online ones soon get sold out.
Tip 5
Comfort is indispensable when in Louvre. Be sure to have comfy shoes on you, take some water and a snack.
Tip 6
To save your energy, take the elevators rather than the stairs.
Tip 7
There are several entrances in Louvre. The best ones are The Carousel Du Louvre, which enters to the underground shopping mall and leads to an entrance to the museum where security line is shorter or the Passage Richelieu. If you aim to see the Mona Lisa take the Porte des Leons entrance which is the nearest.
Tip 8
A tip not only for Louvre, but for anywhere in Paris is to watch out for pickpockets. They can grab your wallet and you would stay unnoticed.
