Today’s National Siblings Day and I’m celebrating with several drawings on this post!
1. First, Katie and Aaron Mitchell from The Mitchells vs. the Machines It’s Pony style!
2. Wendy and Maureen from The Sisters / Les Sisters, inspired by the cover of the first volume of the graphic novel series and promotional images for the animated adaptation!
3. Nate and Ellen Wright from Big Nate
4. Toto and Gal from the video game Lost in Play, which I enjoyed a lot!
5. Finally, Gene with Louise and Tina from Bob’s Burgers!

Angels in America directed by Mike Nichols and written by Tony Kushner, based on his Pulitzer Prize-winning play
“I hate America, Louis. I hate this country. Nothing but a bunch of big ideas and stories and people dying, and then people like you. The white cracker who wrote the National Anthem knew what he was doing. He set the word free to a note so high nobody could reach it. That was deliberate.”

In their exhibition at Frank Lloyd Wright’s Hollyhock House, Louise Bonnet and Adam Silverman engage with the building’s peculiarities and its origin story.
The Hollyhock House was commissioned by Aline Barnsdall, an experimental theater producer, committed feminist, and heiress to an oil fortune, but her relationship with Wright was antagonistic and combative, and he was ultimately fired from the project.
“It was a contentious but productive relationship. She didn’t let herself get pushed around,” Bonnet says. “The fact that this house came out of it was interesting to us.”
The pair made a conscious decision to work independently while they prepared for the show. Still, collaborative tensions crept into their daily lives. Being equally involved and invested in the show “got a little claustrophobic,” says Silverman of their evening de-briefs.

Martin Glover has a set of his own parameters and they inform his choices of collaboration as one can assume from this weird sentence I typed in here. I mean, him producing Pink Floyd? Sure, he probably always dreamed of this, though The Endless River is not really their album per se. No, the disc serves as the postscript to their career, yet the LP concludes with the tune on the link, where everything fits. We follow the foggy landscapes to reach the oasis in the form of the finale, which might be too close to whatever they did during the late 80's, yet what a song! Sure, this is not one of their best, yet the things just soars in the vein of their classics. Of course, the piece has a bitter-sweet quality now, since this was a celebration of their detente that evaporated later on.

It was 20 years ago today: Thomas Newman’s soundtrack to Angels in America was released on Nonesuch. Newman's romantic, epic-scale orchestral score to the Mike Nichols–directed HBO film version of Tony Kushner's play "seems divinely inspired," says the San Francisco Chronicle, and proves "rewarding in its own right from beginning to end ... Newman has risen gloriously to the greatness of Angels." You can hear it again here.
Starring Al Pacino, Meryl Streep, Emma Thompson, Mary-Louise Parker, Justin Kirk, Jeffrey Wright, Ben Shenkman, and Patrick Wilson, the six-hour epic features a screenplay Kushner adapted from his 1991 Tony Award–winning play.

this is the potato-est, but what this most makes me think of is Jeffrey Wright as the gay nurse who is Done with your Shit, Louis in Angels in America.
Anyway, he (off duty) enters his friend's hospital room by throwing glitter in the air, and from that moment, my allegiance was with this character through that whole difficult ridiculous play.
I’m so tired of hot actors with no actual talent or magnetism. we need more ugly little cuntservers giving performances that fuck so hard you leave the theatre with road rash. willem dafoe if you’re out there
