It's especially depressing as a queer Jew to hear about the LGBT antisemitism, but after the actions of the Women's March (hosting Louis Farakkhan) and the Dyke March (kicking out some Jews who had the Magen David on their Pride flag), I'm sadly not surprised.

In a diatribe against Jews and white people, the assistant to Nation of Islam’s leader Louis Farrakhn, Ishmael Muhammad, rails against the COVID-19 vaccine.

In a series of lectures titled “America’s Wicked Plan” given between December 6-20, 2020 at the Mosque Maryam and uploaded to YouTube by MEMRI (Middle East Research Institute), Muhammad – quoting Farrakhan – first claims that a doctor said that Jews were given a different flu vaccine than others – one that did not contain mercury and other harmful additives.

“Why do you put additives in one, and remove it from another, except that there’s something in that additive that you want to infect the population with, that over time will manifest in ailments, sickness, disease and a compromised immune system?” Muhammad asks.

As with all demagogues, Muhammad takes the facts and skews them to support his conspiracy theories. In reality, a mercury-based preservative, thimerosal, was used for decades in vaccines. Even though thimerosal is cleared from the body relatively quickly and is not toxic like methylmercury – the type of mercy found in certain kinds of fish, for example – the substance was removed from vaccines in 1999 as a precautionary measure.

Muhammad continued his accusations against the Jews, using Farakkhan’s common appellation for Judaism, the “synagogue of Satan.”

I think people like Ilhan Omar (and Linda Sarsour and Louis Farakkhan) are the reason why American Jewish people/people of Jewish descent are turning right wing. Whenever anyone on the left acts blatantly antisemitic, they often NEVER receive any punishment. There could be other reasons (for example I'm a former liberal who is of Jewish descent and I switched my political views for reasons not related to antisemitism) but imo this is the biggest one

Sad, but true. I'm not turning right wing, but I often feel politically homeless, because I don't care for the more centrist democrats and the more left wing ones are apologists for antisemitism.
