2019 Lotus Exige Race 380 Price And Perfomance
2019 Lotus Exige Race 380 Price And Perfomance
2019 Lotus Exige Race 380 Price And Perfomance–  When we drove significant Lotus Exige Sport 380, the tinier, faster, angrier model of the Exige 350, we were smitten – it is probably the most exotic street cars Lotus makes. Now there is an even more quickly – although street-legal – version. The entirely reasonably called Lotus Exige Race 380 is precise as billed: an Exige Sport 380 with less…

Lotus is working on new ideas for a future model but until the idea appears it works on updating its older vehicles, and that's exactly what happened to Lotus Exige Race 380. A new track-only version is on its way, so keep your eyes on our updates.
Priced at £99,500, the new Lotus Exige Race 380 is a sensational sports car boasting a 375bhp and 410 Nm (302 lbft) 3.5-litre supercharged V6 engine mated to an Xtrac 6-speed sequential transmission. The race car comes with oil cooler, and cassette-type plate limited slip differential, as well as a titanium exhaust system. Seeing as that power has to lug about only 998 kg, the 380 is pretty fast with a 0-60 mph time of 3.2 seconds and a Hethel track lap time of 1 minute 23.5 seconds which makes it the fastest ever Exige.

Lotus Elise Cup 260 track monster limited to 30 examples
Dan Smith 2017-10-20 13:00 As part of Lotus' 70th anniversary, the ultra-exclusive Elise Cup 260 is race-bred for the track Lotus has launched an ultra-exclusive track-day special Elise called the Cup 260, and only 30 examples will be made. With a chassis developed by Lotus Motorsport, it is an evolution of the recently launched Elise Cup 250 and uses the same 1.8-litre supercharged Toyota four-pot producing 250bhp and 255Nm of torque. Weight has been reduced slightly to 862kg from the Cup 250’s 884kg, giving the Cup 260 a power-to-weight ratio of 290bhp per tonne. • Best track day cars 2017 Acceleration has been boosted, with a 0-60mph time of 3.8 seconds, half a second up on the Elise Cup 250. However, the top speed has fallen slightly to 151mph from the donor model's 154mph figure.  The 3mph top speed deficit is a result of race-car derived aerodynamics. Taking pieces of the Exige Cup 380 and Evora GT430, the Elise Cup 260 generates up to 180kg of downforce with its high mounted rear wing and carbon fibre front splitter. Adjustable high-performance dampers are fitted to the Cup 260, a first for the Elise range, alongside independent double wishbone suspension and coaxial coil springs. Grippy Yokohama tyres have been widened by 10mm to provide ultimate track-day performance while remaining road legal.  The Elise Cup 260 has been finished in a gold paint scheme to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Lotus. The carbon fibre racing seats are finished in alcantara with gold stitching around the seats. The 30 lucky customers will have to fork out £59,500 for what Lotus describes as a future classic. Is the Lotus Elise Cup 260 on your wish list? Let us know in the comments...

Lotus Exige Race 380: You’ve Seen It Before, Now Ogle It Once More
Americans will find the all-new Lotus Exige Race 380 available this spring, but like all the other track-ready Lotus hardtops we’ve told you about, it can’t be registered for use on public roads.
Lotus keeps upping the power (and price) on its limited series of Exige and Elise Cup cars, which by all accounts haven’t changed much in 17 years. But despite its age, the Toyota-sourced supercharged 3.5-liter V-6, and the inability to meet U.S. federal crash standards, Lotus can still cobble together delightful lightweight track toys. So, as you might guess, the Exige Race 380 is fun.
At $145,000 before options and shipping, it’s also the most affordable mid-engined factory race car with doors and a windshield, at least by Lotus’s reckoning. Allowing for all the qualifiers (factory race car, mid-engine, doors, windshield, etc.), the most comparable contender appears to be the Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport that sells for $165,000. With Lotus claiming a zero-to-60-mph time of 3.2 seconds, performance—if not build quality—should be similar to the German car’s. On a tight course with few straights, you’d need a hero and a mid-engine racer selling for more than double the price—a Ferrari 488GT3 or a Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo—to truly run and hide from this Lotus. Or, if you think windscreens and doors and such are just superfluous, you could look into an Ariel Atom. Well, you can actually look right through an Ariel Atom, but we digress.
Lotus lists a dry weight of 2196 pounds, which is about as meaningless and impossible a measurement as stepping on the bathroom scale without any blood. Figure the race-ready mass will be nearer, but slightly below, that of the 2492-pound Exige 360 Cup that premiered in 2015. That’s still more than 350 pounds lighter than what Porsche claims for the starting-line mass of a Cayman GT4 Clubsport. Even with a hot-blooded adult (all body fluids included) strapped into the carbon-fiber chair, that’s baby-on-the-lap light. Choosing the optional titanium exhaust sheds another 22 pounds, and it emits prettier tunes from the supercharged 375-hp Toyota V-6 and nicer blips when downshifting via the Xtrac sequential six-speed transmission. It’s race equipped with an integrated roll cage, an FIA-legal driver’s seat that can accommodate your HANS device, a six-point harness, polycarbonate side windows, a fire extinguisher, a battery isolator, and tow hooks on both ends. All those wings, gills, and scoops provide up to 528 pounds of downforce at 170 mph, Lotus asserts. Traction control, two-way Öhlins dampers, and the front and rear anti-roll bars are all adjustable.
When night falls and it’s time to stop—there are no headlights, only black covers—the AP Racing brakes and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires will aid your entry into pit lane. At that point, your Lotus Cup series team can download the telemetry from the onboard GPS and data logger. Lotus claims the Race 380 can turn a lap of its Hethel, England, test track fully 1.5 seconds quicker than its predecessor, the Exige Cup R. Speed aside, we’d also like to take a moment to swoon at the single taillights (Lotus deleted the second set, presumably to save weight) and the single center-mounted exhaust pipe. In an era of enormous LED lights and quad exhaust outlets, the styling restraint here pleases our eye, even if it’s due less to intentional design than to sheer functionality.
The Eleventy-Billionth Variation on a Theme: New Lotus Elise Cup 250
Lotus Exige 360 Cup: Another Small-Batch Lotus
The Lotus Elise S Cup R Is the Track Star You Can’t Take Home
While Europeans get a street-legal Exige (with headlights and everything!), the only new Lotus that Americans can slap a license plate on for road use today is the refreshed-for-2016 Evora 400.

2019 Lotus Exige Race 380 Price
2019 Lotus Exige Race 380 Price –  When we started the Lotus Exige Sport 380, the lighter, more quickly, angrier edition of the Exige 350, we had been smitten – it is arguably the most thrilling highway cars Lotus makes. First Look: Lotus Exige Cup 380
Evolved from the hugely successful and capable Exige Sport 380, this latest Lotus supercar is the purest manifestation yet of the company’s Cup concept for sports cars. Genuinely eligible for competition yet undeniably elegant, just 60 editions of this extreme Exige are planned for worldwide markets – assuring its status as one of Lotus’ most collectible road cars.
The fastest to, from, and around the race track
0-60 mph in just 3.4 seconds
Dry Weight from 1,057 kg (2330lbs)
Dramatic bodywork revisions boost downforce to 200 kg
Limited to 60 editions worldwide, confirming collector status
With a purity of drive unheard of in road cars, and a power-to-weight ratio of 355 hp per tonne, the Exige Cup 380 delivers genuine race pace, with 0-60 mph in 3.4 seconds (0-100 km/h in 3.6 seconds) and top speed of 175 mph (282 km/h). Key to the Exige Cup 380 reaching its low weight of 1,057 kg is the comprehensive adoption of carbon fiber and extreme engineering. Making their first appearance on a road-going Lotus, heavily revised bodywork elements contribute to the increased downforce of the Exige Cup 380, with the car generating up to 200 kg, 43% more than the Exige Sport 380. Making the most of this aerodynamic downforce and maximizing mechanical grip, the Exige Cup 380 features larger rear tires as standard.
About the Exige Cup 380
At the heart of the new Exige Cup 380 lies a concept from the core of one of Lotus’ founding principles. With an unrivaled lineage, the new thoroughbred Lotus Exige Cup 380 is endowed with race car sensibilities and road car manners.
Honing the Exige Cup 380’s high speed abilities was paramount in its development, and the inclusion of new wind tunnel developed aerodynamic elements allow this road-going Exige to deliver up to 200 kg of aerodynamic downforce at a top speed of 175 mph.
Located over the wheels, the front louvers equalize the pressure differential within the wheel arches, increasing downforce at high speed and under hard braking, whilst the cut-out sections behind the rear wheels work with the aero blades mounted either side of the race diffuser. Even the Exige’s windscreen wiper has been aero tuned – now resting in a vertical position to avoid disrupting air flow.
To harness the huge hike in downforce, and provide increased mechanical grip, wider 285/30 ZR18 rear tires are required – a step up from the 265/35 ZR18 as fitted to the Sport 380. With the two elements working in combination, this huge boost in grip allows the car to corner harder and faster which, given with the Exige’s existing reputation as a driver’s car, elevates it to a whole new level.
An integral part of the car’s aerodynamic prowess, the high-gloss, hand-made carbon fibre components include new front splitter, front access panel, bargeboards, roof, diffuser surround, new larger aperture air-intake side pods, a new one-piece tailgate and a straight-cut high efficiency motorsport derived rear wing.
The new design one-piece carbon rear tailgate reduces weight by 6.5 kg and the removal of gas struts deletes 1 kg. The new carbon side pods save a further 0.5 kg.
Inside the Exige Cup 380, the carbon continues with visible-weave, handmade sections including beautifully detailed carbon race seats and door sills as standard. Cumulatively these composites contribute to the Exige Cup 380’s low weight, but every part of the car has been considered, even down to the removal of the boot carpet, to reduce mass. Optional carbon fibre components include one-piece inner door panels, HVAC console and face-level vent surrounds, which together offer an additional 1 kg reduction over the standard car.
In addition to the Exige’s strong, stiff and durable aluminium chassis architecture, the Cup 380 comes with a T45 steel roll over bar as standard. Tremendously strong, yet light compared to alternatives, its cost means that it’s only used in the highest of motorsport applications. Other racing additions include a towing eye at the front and a fabric tow strap at the rear. Extremely quick off the line, the Exige Cup 380 laps the Hethel track in 1 minute 26 seconds – a record for a road-legal Exige. Packing the same 3.5-litre supercharged V6 engine as the Exige Race 380, the new Exige Cup 380 boasts 375 hp at 6,700 rpm and 410 Nm (302 lbft) of torque at 5,000 rpm. Available as standard with a close-ratio, six-speed manual transmission, the Exige range features Lotus’ now famous open-gate manual gearbox design.
The Exige Cup 380 is available as a limited production run of only 60 cars and as a coupe only. It can be ordered now, priced £83,000 including VAT (UK) and €109,900 (Germany).

Giving People Rides In LOUD Lotus Exige 380 Sport LT I had the pleasure of having the Lotus 380 Sport powered by Laptime Performance. As per usual with their cars, they are not stock - nor is this one. A few modifications to the exhaust + a new custom suspension makes this Exige a race car for the road. The biggest pleasure for me whenever I have these cars is sharing the experience with others.
