I had a psychiatrist try to take control of my personal life and decisions. I said no. She said leave, and terminated ALL of my psychiatric medication prescriptions. Because she could be 'held liable'. My consent did not matter, nor did the fact I was on the antidepressent I was using before coming into her care. But the worst part was she had gotten me on a regular schedule of high dose benzodiazepenes and thus cut me off cold turkey. I got extraordinarily sick, and had to use google to do the half life math and cut what tablets I had left down to avoid having a seizure or even dying. The consequences were that dire. I ended up leaving the US in the end because I got abused so many times seeking care for my cPTSD. This was one of two incidents where a power tripping health professional almost killed me. Both professionals are still practicing today with no consequences. I would consider that pin an indication of threat and abuse, and if you think its okay then go try being put on a high regular benzodiazepene dose and quit cold turkey and see how that goes for you. If you don't die then congrats, go pound sand.
surely it's not just me who finds those fucking "be nice, I'm in charge of the pills" pins you sometimes see doctors and nurses wearing in pretty bad taste right? like the *point* is a stand against being mistreated by patients but like...yea you are in charge of the pills and can arbitrarily deny care to people, not really sure why that's something to gloat about? like the number of stories especially of black women being totally denied painkillers in hospital and stuff because the nurses were assholes it's like....maybe you can have your snarky pins when you're not in the position to medically torture someone? idk
like you get people rushing to defend it like "you don't know what it's like working in a hospital" but like...i do sure as hell know what it's like being mistreated by medical professionals. I'm not even getting paid to be here. it's kinda fucking evil when you think about it for more than a second.

Five, as narrated by literally everyone: I am the master of trickery, the sealer of fates, the scourge from Lorien, and I won't stop until all those who banished me are DESTROY- Einar, the moment he comes to his island: Oh my gosh, you're the cutest little thing! Five: I- what? Einar: I love you, you're precious, and I just wanna hug you- Five: I will literally kill you. Einar: Oh you're a little feisty when you're angry, huh? Five: W-what is going on?! My backstory is tragic. Einar: Uh. Five: I did the heroes harm. Einar: Yeah you did. Five: There should be nothing about me that makes you react like this- Einar: AAWWWWHHHH

💡 What made them realize their sexuality?
From his adolescence, Lindir was able to recognise the beauty in Ellon, but it stopped at that for hundreds of years. He was with an Elleth that he thought he was going to marry for a little over a century, so it wasn’t something he really thought about, even though he did see same-sex relationships around him every now and then.
After carefully constructing an emotional barrier between himself and everyone other than his brother, Lindir’s almost-marriage ended, and he was convinced that he’d never love anyone ever again. The main romantic narrative in his life had already begun about fifty years prior to this, however, he just didn’t know it at the time. This is regarded to be the main or ‘canon’ verse on this blog, although it varies with different portrayals of different characters. These headcanons were established with @elrondxfimladris , but this early, one-sided part works with most portrayals of Elrond.
Lindir’s exchange of letters with Lord Elrond began near the start of the 18th century of the Second Age, only a short time after Rivendell was founded. Slowly, the nature of his letters began to change: he started to sign them ‘yours’ and ‘I miss you’ rather than ‘sincerely’ or ‘respectfully’, and he found himself confiding things in the Lord he’d never met that he wouldn’t dare say out loud, not even to Thandir. He was already enamoured by the version of Elrond he had read about in history books (and what he could find of his tragic backstory, to be quite honest), but his kindness, compassion, and wit caught Lindir quite by surprise, and reading letters from Elrond - whatever their content - never failed to bring a smile to his face and a swell to his heart. They became very familiar with each other, but Lindir did not recognise what he felt as romantic love until many years later.
This, accompanied by a brief affair with a guard from Lorien and several other mostly physical/companionate flings with other Ellon, led Lindir to realise that he very much liked the company of males.
