Wildly mesmerized by Vance because I thought that converting Humans to Merch Mimics was a Zachary-only power and I'm wondering if he had anything to do with that or if there's some other way to achieve it
Zachary is Good at it, but he's not the only one! Here's a story:
Long ago, a peasant meets a mimic of King Midas that is made of gold. He tells the peasant he can turn anything into gold, but the catch is that the converted object becomes his if he takes a liking to it. The peasant gives King Midas stones as a tribute. He takes them, and the stones turn to gold. King Midas then bids the peasant farewell, as he must now rest. The peasant, filled with both regret and greed, returns and steals portions of Midas' fortune while he sleeps: a few gold bars, crowns, things the King had for centuries, but also of course, the stones as well. Once the peasant runs off too far from Midas' castle, however, everything stolen begins to crumble and break apart... except for the once golden stones, which revert into normal stones again. When Midas awakens, he only finds the golden stones to be missing from his hoard. Everything else has returned.
He shrugs; he wasn't very attached to them yet, anyway. The crowns, the gold bars, those were the objects of his affections, and so, they remain with him. Midas, now feeling nostalgic, thinks back and instead wonders... if he claimed his own late wife in the same fashion as his treasures, would that not have saved her life?
No, that wouldn't have worked-- For he honored her wish to die as herself and not as a possession. If he had tried to force her, and yet her will insisted to not be claimed, then all that would be left of her would be an empty golem of gold in her visage, a body converted, but not the will behind it. No; She allowed herself to die of old age, and he had her body cremated. Her memory alone shall be the only thing that should remain, as treasure enough.
When a mimic is given an object of any kind, the mimic can voluntarily "assimilate" the object into their "inventory", which they can summon any time. When an object is assimilated, it gets partially converted into the same "stuff" the mimic is made out of. Items can be removed and reverted to normal by the mimic, but only to a state the mimic remembers. If the object is assimilated for too long, and then forcefully removed from the mimic, it begins to "decay" and disappear, after which it "unloads" and "reloads" back into the mimic's inventory.
Basic example: Give Jack a shirt. He puts the shirt on. If he likes the shirt a lot, the shirt becomes a part of him, causing the shirt to appear "painted" on him, and his joints are visible through the shirt. Now, tell Jack you kinda want the shirt back. He's sad, but he takes it off. The shirt is now made of solid plastic even while removed from him, but he focuses on it shakes it a bit. It reverts back into a normal shirt, and he hands it back to you. It is precisely as it was when you first gave it to him.
Finally, this begs the question: Do living things count as objects?
The answer is yes, but with some caveats:
1: The mimic has to get to know the human pretty well, otherwise they won't want to fully assimilate the human, 2: the human has to be extremely willing, otherwise their own will power will cause them to eventually get ejected, 3: After full assimilation, both need some kind of energy source as a catalyst (lightning usually works pretty well) that the mimic can endure. This allows the mimic to perform a kind of mitosis, allowing the assimilated human to split off while still being made out of mimic-stuff. Without a catalyst of some kind, the assimilated human can only either revert to being just human, or persist as a dependent "accessory" to the mimic that claimed them. If the catalyst works properly, the human is now an independent human-mimic, and can be removed from the original mimic without decaying or reverting back to normal.
Zachary is a very powerful mimic, so he was easily able to assimilate and then split Az into another Horsey. For other mimics, it's harder to do. As for Vance, that's a story for another day.
Midas sits on his throne. Reminiscing over all the people he's lost over the years, his yellow, polished heart ached. So many he offered immortality to, only to be turned down. His mourning was interrupted, however.
"Hey dad, I'm back from Aldi. Do we have any butter? I forgot to get some," said his golden son, walking in from a doorway, wearing shorts, sandals, and a tanktop, eating a sack of golden potatoes, "I know I don't need to eat anymore, given I let you turn me into this and you used a ritual to allow me to exist apart from you, but I still get the munchies every now and then. Some butter would go great with these."
"In the cupboard, son," sighed Midas, with an annoyed smile.
For because Midas was annoyed, he knew his son was indeed still himself. An individual with his own will, his own prospects still, and his own ability to remain even if something happened to Midas himself.

Rachel lore stuff
Ok so I'm compiling my stuff about Rachel under the cut like how I did for Paul's parents! Mostly cause I want to have a set of how she would fit in since she's changed sm since 2021.
For context she originally started as pretty much exactly based on the character from American Psycho 2
Over time her design changed more and more as did aspects of her personality. Yeah she was more of a joke inclusion at first but like all joke things the more I included her, the more I thought about it and so.....
Timeline
So as the timeline I'm trying to set goes, Rachel was a foster kid for most of her life. At least since she was a toddler or early childhood after losing her parents. She remained in the system until aging out at the age of 18 which was when Paul's sister Jen sought to give her some assistance.
Paul, age 36 had discussions with his sister on the system over phone calls or family gatherings. It appeared like he had grown more and more interested, not only in that but dropping more hints of wanting to become a parent, so she mentioned Rachel to him. With the thought that adopting a kid that much older could be a lot easier than a small child, he agreed (much to Patrick's irritation but they still had separate living spaces so Paul didn't really care what he had to say).
To say it was a rough start would be putting it mildly, as with anyone thrusted into a new situation, Rachel had to suddenly navigate this new environment with the thought that it could all go away in an instant. She was used to rejection from families, peers etc so it was easier to switch off from engaging too much with Paul's attempts to welcome her. Paul tried with buying things and kept going that route when that didn't work. Eventually it was clear that it was just making her more uncomfortable so he tried to find things that interested her. This involved putting up with things he could barely stand like watching horror movies. He'd ask her about what she liked to read or about her life, but learned when to back off. It was the little things like that that brought her closer to Paul and conveyed that he may be safer than she thought.
Given that it was late Summer, Rachel opted to take a gap year now with college on the table. Rachel was most interested in forensics, partially because of the morbid nature of studying the dead and the nature of death itself. Paul supported this idea, seeing it as a great career opportunity as he pushed for her to decide on a study throughout the year.
Paul's family took an instant liking to her (his sister already being familiar with her and their mother welcoming her as her grandkid). By choice, she never met Patrick's family.
After a lot of prepping, she ended up going to Syracuse University to study forensic science where she met her roommate, Brenda. Brenda was brash and said everything on her mind which at first instantly turned Rachel off. She's more the type to mull over things but when someone gets that in her face it drives her crazy. They do find common ground and actually become extremely close just over the course of one semester.
It was pretty clear that she was homesick (she will not say that out loud) and frequently called Paul at night. If it weren't a nearly 4 hour distance by car she'd probably have visited more often besides the breaks. She did however, on her first week use the fact that she left behind a book to come home for the weekend. Paul was always more than happy to call and pay for the ride to and from.
Post graduation Rachel kept in touch with Brenda, they'd eventually become roommates again once they both found employment near New York City. The two found themselves in the closest thing they feel comfortable calling a relationship. Rachel was always adverse to romance and a lot of the labels and expectations that came with it. Brenda was easy going about it all and they found something that worked for them. Paul didn't totally get it and would get things wrong, Patrick didn't care to learn much about it.
As Rachel would get older she'd become more estranged from Paul, seeing him as an enabler to Patrick and finding "excuses" for staying with him. This would result in fighting and Rachel not talking to him or taking his calls for at least a month. They'd eventually reconcile but she would still have some boundaries. It would be hard for her to fully separate from Paul even as a grown adult, but it would also soon become hard to be as open and close as she once was.
Personality
Rachel's socially awkward, always has been and never totally grew out of it. She had trouble making friends due to this, being seen as off-putting to some. Once she begins to warm up to a person, she's a lot more relaxed and open about herself and interests. She's fascinated with the concept of death and the way things rot. She also loves horror movies and books, one of her only ways to relate to Patrick, and it's to a nerdy obsession. She thought briefly about the possibility of doing effects makeup.
She's still private about aspects of her personal life, only sharing bits and pieces when at her most comfortable.
Rachel has a tendency to think out loud or mumble to herself when deep in thought, sometimes making others think she's talking to them.
She also struggled with catastrophizing, especially early on after moving in with Paul. This would never show outwardly as she would shut down and withdraw rather than make an obvious show of it. Overtime she learned to control this better.

Heaven's current staff count is what it is but there are actually more angels in existence other than the ones in there right now. Like spread out across the cosmos.
However many of them have sorta developed into offshoots of the original "heavenly" variety since they can no longer depend on their native environment for survival, like the current heaven angels do (being up there replenishes them, it's a whole thing).
Although there are some high angels that live out there as well that have created suitable environments ("nests") for other angels to live in, and even though it's not really heaven it usually fulfils many of the supernatural needs that angels have for a homeplace.
Often these non heaven populations derive from angels that left heaven for one reason or another, and historically it has sometimes been for divine missions or projects, when there's been enough resources to just send angels out there. Over time the original leads of these missions or projects have died out and created new angels to take their place, or the missions have fallen through somehow, leaving leftover populations to find a new purpose. Many populations are also a result of disbanded, exiled or otherwise rogue angels. Not always negatively, but sometimes.
Despite this there are still roamers and ones that have adapted to living on earth for example.
Of course there's also the age old variety of Earth angels who are similar to regular earthly angels in terms of ability, but have adapted to live primarily on earth. Thusly the vast majority of them are the "Human with wings" type of angel, but their appearance is meant to take after mortal lifeforms so they can also be animals and such.
One notable example of a high angel that created a living place for angels outside of heaven is Ezekiel actually! After being exiled by Ngah he left with an alarming number of other angels and eventually settled down somewhere else. Ezekiel himself is beginning to die of old age ( and his injuries, courtesy of Ngah), which is in large part due to him being a heaven born angel who stopped living there. This can happen, as they sort of either deteriorate or become altered in certain ways after not getting to return to heaven for a long enough time.
Besides that though I have personally developed some number of non heaven angels for fun and for the sake of exploring different character ideas I wouldn't be able to in the current state of the story. I think i was getting into all this around 2021/22, and I kinda balled around a spinoff idea(s?) with just following some other angels living out there.
I haven't posted about this aspect of the worldbuilding before bc I hadn't found it super necessary/central for what I'm talking about on here, which is the main heaven focused storyline and characters. It's just like a thing that also exists that I like to have fun with.
#My thoughts#Lore#Not sins but tragedies#Spontaneously felt like talking about this so hey. Here's a post#Lore notes#Character notes#Plus it gives me a chance to experiment with character designs a littlee#Can't mention my personal favorite bc it's unfortunately toooooo sexyyyyyy#(angel brothel)

Lore notes: Kyurem's God Spells + Abilities
Kyurem as he is now is a rather unique case. It has never been documented that any of his species across the multiverse would ever reclaim their full strength, yet, this one has.
But with reclamation comes the cost of separation.
Kyurem's powers are still limited. The God spells that Taiji can wield with absolute ease, Kyurem struggles with, their power at a minimum. Using too many God spells in a day will exhaust Kyurem to the point of knocking him out, even now. Kyurem's core abilities over ice have been increased, and he can now use his own God spells. However, Taiji's God spells work differently.
Kyurem's Fire spell manifests as a warmth. A small flame that can follow a person around and keep them warm even in the face of extreme cold. It can also be used to boost a Pokemon's special attack and attack stats by +6.
Kyurem's Water spell manifests a very small storm cloud that makes it rain. Often used to water plants. It can also boost a Pokemon's HP stat by +6
Kyurem's Wind spell can summon a brief gale that can either accelerate his own flight for a short time, or blow someone away, or be used to clean up a small area. It can also boost a Pokemon's speed stat by +6
Kyurem's Wood spell can make plants grow, but usually only from a seed to a sapling. It can also increase a Pokemon's defense stat by +6.
Kyurem's Steel spell can only boost stats. Specifically the special defense stat by +6
Kyurem cannot use the Obliviate spell.
Kyurem's God spell 'Barrier' can cast an extremely powerful barrier around anything or anyone. This spell is one he created on his own.
'High Recover' can heal anyone back up to full health, but can only be used once every few days for extreme cases.
Kyurem has a small amount of telekinesis as well as telepathy.

Speaking of Pathologic, couldn't Clara's experiences inform Fyodor in some way? I feel like there's something there, with Fyodor and his Ability. Particularly how it was shown in Dead Apple... It ties into The Double as well, and Crime and Punishment/Ivan's talk with the Devil, to some extent... Hm, I hope this is a good track.

Cardboard Friend Arc [v2]
Technially a reuplaod/rephrasing of this post but with the notes instead of a summary as we're testing out a new style to these.
What is covered: The plotline of Cardboard Friend's return, not his backstory or intro episode.
Videos: Prop Hunt 18 _ Haunted by Cardboard Friend [with a few gaps]
Important notes beforehand:
These notes are from 2022 and haven't been updated so there are parts missing, quotes not quoted correctly, and lots of missing timestamps.
We use system terms (ex: switching, front, ect) when talking about Ghost, Jimmy, and Gregory as that's just the easiest thing for us to do.
[Divider by @/saradika-graphics]
Prop Hunt 18
“Holy connection batman, the ghost is Cardboard Friend!”
First video where it was stated that Gregory had a connection to Ghost and Casket. That being said, Jimmy and Johnny’s connections were heavily shown already in videos like Creepypasta College.
“You’re looking good. I mean not- not you’re looking good, I mean you look good in the way you are doing what you’re doing.”
[A/N: For some reason this wasn't properly quoted w/ timestamp and character but I'm guessing it was Ghost because *motions*]
Johnny Toasts drinks on the job, but I knew that already.
Ghost tried to call CF Gregory to which they yelled at him stating Gregory was their friend. CF probably doesn’t know the connection between Ghosts and Caskets.
Correction: CF knew about the connection, just did not comment on it.
CF attempts(?) to curse Ghost because they lost.
Max Acachalla: “Gregory, has probably been dead for a long time now.”
CF: “Isn’t Gregory (now) Johnny Ghost?”
Max: “I’m sure he has other forms(?)”
Likely due to CF’s abilities, others fully believe Gregory is dead.
Sidenote: The last line was nearly impossible to hear so I don’t know if he actually said that.
Other Spirits that Appear: Toilet Toucher, Maxwell Acachalla
L4D Slender
Original beginning of the Rake marrying SBJ thing.
Eevee Playermodel
Papa’s Age: 42 years old (7:08)
Papa called in Jimmy to take care of TT rather than calling P.I.E. He also called him “an old friend”.
“Sally doesn’t have an uncle, I’ve killed all the uncles.”
This can mean that Gregory.Gregory, the only one known to possess the knowledge of how/why respawning happens, might actually be dead.
Murder 11
Casket, right before murdering someone, whispers that his real name is Gregory. (14:00)
“My name is Greggory”
“I have secrets, and lies, but my lies are my secrets.”
HbCF
After some time of not appearing in any videos, CF pops up one last time to torment Johnny Ghost.
Ghost was originally from somewhere in New Jersey.
Continuation of the Rake’s wedding one-off.
Though stated in his debut video as being a weird man in a cardboard suit, Ghost states that CF is a level 4 or higher entity.
The original CF case is written down inside Toast’s ghost hunting book, but no known name is stated.
[Old A/N: I’m sticking with the theory that CF is Johnny’s dead brother who is a restless spirit, but my headcanon is a bit more elaborate than that. [PS: No I don't fucking know what this means, they never wrote anything down for this, I just have no memory there at ALL.]]
Ghost has no memory of CF, obviously, but he does remember seeing what they can do before.
He’s in the closet v.v
CF’s reaction to Jimmy trying to steal front feels more like frustration than fear. More “Why aren’t you listening to me” and less “Oh god the person who killed me.”
Amnesia v.v
What the fuck did he do in Italy?
RIP, we never know the outcome v.v
JG: “That man is my father.” [12:40]

Lore Notes: Chaotic Infection
An excess of Darkness can cause the soul of a being, and eventually the being themselves, to change both physically and mentally into a Dark Pokemon. Chaos, when concentrated enough, will erode at the soul, then the mind, and then finally the body.
Erosion of the Soul is usually seen by an unusually dark and very acidic aura, very little to no Light remains as it had been overwhelmed. Sometimes, the individual may not be aware of this shift at this stage.
Before long erosion of the mind will follow, changes in behavior ( aggression in all its forms ) is the most obvious but also mental instability ( mild, eventually to severe depression, manic episodes, psychosis, hallucinations, ect ).
Finally, effects on the body will follow, physically the individual will appear unusually dark in color, or sometimes change colors completely. Eventually as the individual wears their own body down more and more, the body will start attacking itself at the cellular level, escalating mental instability through pain and suffering, eventually succumbing to death.
Once death of the physical body occurs, Chaos will consume whatever is left of the soul as it becomes a chaotic spirit until nothing remains. It will then leak into the environment and spread from there.
In all stages of an Chaotic Infection, it can spread quite easily to others if exposure has enough time to make an effect. Depending on the individual, this can take anywhere from seconds to years.

Mmm I definitely have Thoughts on site lore and Ancient lore. And I mean, for the most part I (as well as many people) use site lore more as Inspiration/Building Blocks for further lore building.
I've been meaning to get around to writing lore for my Clan and in general, so. I guess I'll just make some notes on the current Ancient Lore and what I think and where I'd go.
Deciding to put this under a read more since it's a lot more than I meant to write lmao
Gaolers - Part of this being because they were the first, and therefore had the most hype around their introduction, but so far lorewise Gaolers still have probably the most impactful story. Them being forgotten by modern society makes sense; withdrawn, a small population of creatures that never evolved into their softer modern counterparts. Which is another thing that makes Gaolers stand out; they're the only Ancient with an explicit connection as being ancestors of one of the Modern breeds. The whole This Thing Is You But Older, More Primal And Dangerous is just. Soooo good. Gaolers as a design have grown on me recently, so it definitely generates some ideas.
Banescales - BANESCALE LORE. BANESCALE LORE. My favorite of the bunch, but this is partially that I am someone who loooves music. The idea of Banescales having been a musical society, and now all that remains is the song that was left to their children as they protected their eggs... god it's just so beautiful to me. Plus the parallel to how Coatls ended up having a notably musical language... The idea of the Flamecaller mourning her first children and passing on their gift. The Coatls and Banes bonding over this similarity. I love them, I need more Banes.
Veilspuns - I'll be honest. I don't remember anything about the Veilspun lore. Legitimately. I love Veil's designs but their lore just Did Not Stick. I'll have to go reread it and probably rebuild it somehow lmaooo
Aberrations - Okay, I also kinda forgot this one, but they literally crawled out of the Wyrmwound, right?? Like, sort of had a "cast away by their god" type of thing? Failed experiment energy? Idk if that was actually what happened, but it's the take I'm going with.
Undertides - They felt betrayed by their god so turned their back on him, and then reintroduced themselves to modern society upon the Surge in the Elements. Cool! Interesting! I think this could be very cool to explore, especially with the modern members of Water Flight who have effectively been abandoned by Tidelord (as far as we know. Dad come back.) Also, strong ties with a specific sect of Maren! Neat! Not as potent of lore to me, maybe, but it's interesting and has potential. Execution was ehhg but I can work with the concepts.
Aethers - I love their lore yes its stupid yes its goofy and I adore them for it. If I go through with my lore crafting I'll keep all this because the other Ancients having cool and fucked up lore next to these dumbass sparkly floofs is hilarious to me.
Sandsurges - Okay I DID. Think the "pay" bit in the story was funny. But I do think a "cooler" take could have been done, with Sandsurges having a better reason to have been unknown to modern dragons aside from "They were underground all along" whsgsgs. I think you can combine the best of both world by saying they return upon seeing the exploitation of modern Lightning society, and the building of something Big and Dangerous, with allusions to this having been done in the past and having had consequences to Ancient Sandsurge society... AKA, they're here to teach the young'uns about unions.
Auraboas - Okay, so. The issues have been brought up several times, and most of us are aware at this point. I can see the angle they were going for, for a sci-fi-esque hivemind tyoe of situation. I also don't necessarily disagree with the decision to make it Nature. While Arcane might make more sense for sci-fi themeing, I think choosing a different Flight makes it a little less on the nose. In any case, I think the concepts are there, but were executed very poorly and with a decent dose of "ignorance and tone-deafness." I think the story specifically should have treated the elder Auraboas with more compassion for their fears for their children and difficulty in communicating with modern dragons. Way less infantilization, and more "person struggling with a language they barely know, reaching out to someone they never would have otherwise out of desperation." (By this I mean I think they could have written the difficulty in communicating far better than they did). The Loop is interesting as well, though very hard to grasp as a concept. This is partially on purpose, and partially because I kind if think staff purposefully left some things vague because they didn't actually want to try and figure out how the concept would work, lol (which I can't entirely blame them for, especially since with Site Lore sometimes less is more, allowing for multiple interpretations by users).
Another note: in both the recent Lightning and Nature ancient stories, they're both stated and/or heavily implied to have already been known about by certain dragons In The Know, so to speak. I have some mixed thoughts on either, and might incorporate them differently. Sandsurges as sort of secret workers was a little funny and backed up the Weird Shady Company Execs thing, but it could be interesting to make it a sort of, deliberately covered up because We Can't Have Them Teaching The New Hires How To Unionize!
As for Auraboas... Not really sure. I can see them being a culture that has been largely self-reliant for their existance, hence the lack of contact with modern dragons. But, given their connection to the Behemoth (and maybe a connection that could be elaborated on), maybe they've appeared or collaborated with moderns in the past over threats to the Behemoth. So, mutual knowledge, but no sustained contact since it was A) difficult and B) outside of curiosity, most on both sides saw little reason to establish further contact. A sort of living alongside one another but never really talking, like neighbors you see sometimes but don't talk to. It's only the disruption of the Loop in the younger generation that both kickstarts a greater Need to connect, but also a bridge for easier communication.
#flight rising#ink writes lore#lore notes#also yea disclaimer i am Very White and while i try to be educated i am aware i will likely Fuck Up#this is personal brainstorming. so if you think there's something i said here abt auraboas that i should rethink feel free to tell me#it's a difficult line to walk when engaging with Interesting concepts that potentially reflect real life situations#i do believe staff was entirely accidental. like this is a game abt dragons and therefore the parallels to IRL aren't intuitive#like its a bit of a different beast to navigate than a fictional world based around humans#bc with humans you can say 'oh this fictional society is modeled after irl society' and can research from there#and therefore judge things based on how well researched the creators have been#whereas with magical animals worlds. it's not intuitive if you're not doing it on purpose! and you're a lot more likely#to unconsciously draw on inspiration sources both good and bad without really Thinking About The Source On Purpose. if that makes sense#so yea we can say staff Probably Should Have thought it through#and i think a firm criticism is that they should at least hire sensitivity readers if not outright hiring More Diverse Writers#but i don't think we should demonize them for it. constructive criticism and all that

Do you ship the tmnt with anyone/what are general relationships in your version, looks interesting but there ain’t much context
Well, most of the ships“ with the tmnt I have in my head right now are only platonic for now, thud idk if they are supposed to happen or not, or if I’ll really end up doing
But one I really liked the idea of is that some time Mikey x Mondo will be a thing or maybe Mikey Leatherhead of course with the right age adjusted to fit :) maybe it would make a cute throuple too idk…
For Raph and Leo there is nothing planned as for romance, maybe for D but I’m not sure; (thinking about making Leo Aroace tho.)
As for casual relationships I am mostly still working out stuff, but ideas are
-Karai grew up with the turtles, she was raised by splinter afterthought death of Tangshen, and they hid in the sewers to escape the public eye, so Karai wouldn’t be lonely splinter got her pet turtles, but the mutation stuff happened, mutating splinter and the turtles
-April is currently not in a ship with anyone, but I maybe make her Casey’s sis? (Bc I think it would be funny to have human siblings for the turtles to compare to themselves too, differences and similarities, so they can all learn to be closer to each other)
-Casey x Karai mby?

[Future Evelyn + buried kingdoms AU lore notes]
Design / lore notes:
• Post Flora civil war *
• Adult Evelyn (21+)
• Did become Flora's leader (established a permanent link with the surface**)
• Turned the palace in a temple dedicated to her family line***
• Still owns her classic jumpsuit style outfit but mostly wears her new and improved cultural dress
• Her original dress from pre-civil war Flora sits in a glass case next to Lady Elora's
Extra lore notes:
* After Evelyn's father passed away, panic truly settled and war broke out between them. A mix of superstitious beliefs and the known absence of a leader led to a bloodbath of a war that'd last until Evelyn's return two years later. Her mother would sadly die at the beginning of the war.
** Evelyn convinced every nation from the surface, including old enemies, to bury the hatchet, opening Flora to the surface and built multiple entry points for everyone and anyone to visit. Because of those multiple entry points, some spots in the Village are hit by natural light, which greatly helps with agriculture and saving energy as they do not always require to use the EES (see Evelyn's file)
*** The only wing that is closed to the public is the main living quarters which she had remade to look like a replica of her Haven City safehouse (multiple bedrooms, dining area, common place filled with pillows, cushions, blankets and couches, storage areas,...). Every single items that were in the ancestors' rooms were put either on altars or in glass cases, exposed throughout the palace;
- The military quarters still house Flora soldiers and has a dedicated section to Mik of Dagon (Evelyn's grandfather) and Venn Mintz (Sabine's Husband)
- The Ballroom is still used for ceremonies within the Dagon family but is also now filled with stained glass panels representing Flora through the years.
- The gardens house an altar dedicated to Lady Elora. It sits in the middle of a flower patch. The altar consists of candles, crystals, her astronomy books and other items from her room.
- The painter's hall still serves the same purpose. The paintings added to the collection are;
• A portrait of Evelyn's mother in her memory, replacing the one she had painted on her wedding day
• Portraits of her closest friends from the surface (Jak and Daxter (painted on the same canvas), Tess and Keira) . She had them all painted the first time they each visited Flora. She also owns a painting of herself and Jak dressed in traditional pre-civil war Flora attire hung in her room.
☆ ☆ ☆
I had a LOAD of ideas I had to put down so that post was a good opportunityyy 😩
Ik it's long but if you read through the whole thing, thank you for reading
I will also keep Evelyn's ask box opened until further notice. I have some time on my hands now so feel free to ask away ahah!

Paul family lore dump
woooo ok here's the lore dump about his parents and sister under the cut! It's a little stream of conscious but yea maybe I'll edit it a smidge
Amelia and Isaac
Amelia Allen (maiden name- Kaminsky) met Isaac Allen at the same community college. He was getting his start studying for a law degree while she was getting a liberal arts degree. While somewhat differing in views, they hit it off fairly well. He found Amelia well-spoken, not putting up with getting talked down to. Both came from Jewish households, but Isaac had a more traditional upbringing that showed in his approach to religion in Paul’s childhood up until their divorce.
They eloped in 1957 after Amelia graduated, and had their first child at ages 21 (Amelia) and 23 (Isaac), Jennifer. Both were incredibly excited to have their baby girl and Amelia took to taking care of her as Isaac continued his law degree studies. Over the next six years, Isaac saw success as a corporate lawyer and their quality of living only grew. Needless to say, they were comfortable, living in a New Jersey suburb as an upper middle class family. So much so, they decided to have their second child in 1963, Paul.
However, a year or so later Isaac grew colder and more distant. He spent less and less time with his family much to Amelia’s annoyance.
Amelia became more outspoken of her own beliefs, becoming interested in keeping up with politics along with developing an affinity for the folk scene. She was what some would label a hippie. Isaac had little interest in politics, humoring her but not feeling one way or the other. He felt things were pretty good in terms of the opportunities he’s had even with some obstacles and hardships. He’s a believer in the bootstrap ideology and claims a lot of people should just suck it up and get a job.
This would cause heads to butt more and more especially as he withdrew from his role in the family. On nights, he’d come home and isolate in his study, listening to records and keeping to himself. Amelia on the other hand, would do her best to be there for both of their children but it wore her down. The fighting increased but they tried to not do it in front of the kids, but that wasn’t always successful. Isaac would begin to take his frustration out on Paul, as he viewed him to be too soft (despite being a child) because of him mostly hanging around Amelia and Jen. This would result in verbal abuse that made it so Paul avoided him as much as possible. Amelia of course found this to be horrible, but did little to intervene in the moment.
This would all accumulate until around 1970 when the two filed for divorce, Amelia getting full custody of both children. Isaac had no interest in fighting her on that, ultimately being absent from their lives post-divorce.
Amelia did everything she could to make things as painless as possible for her kids, and through alimony they were able to still live a fairly comfortable life and send both of them to college. She didn’t try to keep much contact (outside of any legal obligations) with Isaac after everything until he reached out in 1987 to tell her he had been diagnosed with cancer and wanted to make ammends. She would let him stay with her in 1989 up until his death, cared for by hospice nurses in the guest bedroom.
Jennifer
Jennifer Allen is Paul’s older sister (6 year gap), she took on a lot of responsibilities after their dad left including babysitting Paul a lot. She’s always been protective of Paul and of course never wanted him to believe he had to fight his battles alone. After an assault in college, Paul begged her not to tell their mom and she obliged. A part of her still wishes she had, wondering if she only made things worse by not pushing him to seek help. As he got older, a rift began to form between them especially after their dad was back in the picture. Jen does her best to keep them close, and Paul similarly but there will always be something lost.
The one thing her and Paul truly disagreed on was their dad. Jen had 6 years on Paul and thus, had a different experience of their dad before things went downhill. Blinded by nostalgia, she can’t bring herself to fully hate him like Paul can so when he tries to make ammends, she scolds Paul for refusing. This has always been a thing between them, even as kids when she blamed him for the divorce. In her early teen mind, he came along and caused strain and she wasn’t afraid to tell him that. She grew past this as she got older and feels guilty for how she treated him, but doesn't broach the subject.
Jen studied fine arts and now runs her own small studio. She also volunteers a lot to help foster kids find homes, having a soft spot for them despite having no interest in having her own.
She also cannot stand Patrick and has voiced her views of him to Paul in private. But really, it's not very subtle anyway. She's happy Paul's not as in the closet but he could do better in her opinion.
Both her and Amelia know Paul's gay. Amelia walking in on Paul kissing a boy he had over in high school and Jen finding out shortly after. His mom was embarassingly supportive and both tried to coax him into living as his authentic self (something Paul doesn't truly feel he can ever have if he wants to keep his current lifestyle). Jen being bisexual can relate to Paul's conflicted feelings about this, but is nowhere near as in and out of the closet.
Other things about Paul
Paul got carsick a lot as a kid. Like he threw up more than once to the point where his mom would have to pack plastic bags and medicine.
He has curlier hair, but would straighten it in high school. In college, he let it go and by his late twenties he gelled it down.
Since he was a teen, Paul was a huge hair metal/ heavy metal fan. His favorite bands being Motley Crue and Judas Priest.
Paul would sometimes read comics with Jen, who was much more into them than Paul was.
Despite not having much of a connection to religion, he does get together with his mom and sister for Yom Kippur, Passover and the weekend nights of Hanukkah. Mostly because their mom wants to celebrate and be with them like when they were kids.
He'll never say, but he always worries about becoming his father. There are moments he can see such a thing happening, but he can't stand thinking about it too long.

Lore notes - sayings and lingo of the afterlife realm (Not sins but tragedies)
HELL
- Oh Satan! Is a common curse, or a way to express shock and frustration in the Pride district. This district tends to be aware of human culture and it's own history, and thus Satan is something of a pop culture figure to them. Not real, of course, but it's developed from an ironic inside joke to a common reference. Other variations of this saying include cursing to Satan's body parts, such as horns, for example. This saying is used in place of "Oh my god", which is seen as a controversial sentence (to varying degrees, depending on area and company)
- (By/For/All of) heaven and earth! Is another way to curse, or express exasperation. This isn't a region specific saying and can be heard in most districts. It is often connected into some other sentence to intensify the sense of annoyance, ridiculousness, or grandness the speaker wants to instill. For example "By heaven and earth, you better listen closely right now!", or "For heaven and earth, you two are gonna be in big trouble!" or "You could hit em over the head with it and they still wouldn't care, for heaven and earth!". The saying has a similar energy to "Oh for cryin outloud!", and historically refers to a sentiment by olden angels, which they used to express a sense of superior meaning by excluding hell from the equation. It has been adopted by demons since.
HEAVEN
- A throne's rotation is a way of saying something would take so long, or such intense effort that it's near impossible. This saying is very old fashioned, and it refers to the fact that God's throne is so cosmically heavy, and bound tightly to space and time, that it'd be near impossible to rotate or lodge out of place without causing huge danger. For example, someone may say: "It'd take a throne's rotation to gather all grains of sand from all of earth!" or "What a mess! It'll be a throne's rotation before it's all cleaned up again!". Technical nerds though, can be quick to point out that the saying might also refer to the waves of energy that God's throne cycles ("rotates") in and out of itself at a near constant rate, so really, the phrase 'should' mean the complete opposite. However there's been arguments over the true origin of the saying, and realistically, it could mean either one. The saying has fallen largely out of fashion due to this.
- Oh/By the/Dear Throne is essentially the angels' way of using any "God" sayings. (Oh dear God / oh my god / by God ect) this is of course, due to the highest Angel being God's throne, and not 'really' having a The God™ figure aside from it. Hence, someone saying Oh my god, instead of Oh Throne, would come across strange and foreign. They're also very averse to adding "My" to any throne related sayings, as it comes across as creepy and abnormal at best, and downright heretical at worst. Even mother Ngah, an angel knownly enamored with the throne, would find adding 'My' very disrespectful towards it. To say such is to imply ownership and to attempt to deny the throne it's vastness and meaning. This aversion may also be an attempt to dissuade angels from developing unhealthy relationships or views with and towards God's throne.
#Not sins but tragedies#Lore#Lore notes#I know these are a little basic. But. They are common.#Also when or if I'll make more posts about this topic it'll be getting into more niche and detailed lingo#So this is a good starting point#Eldritch tales#REF#I also kept the amount small. Two per faction. Ykno to make it more nice and concise

TFP MAGE AU (Lore Notes):
Fragments + Familiars
A Mage's Fragment is a reflection of their very soul- and a piece of it. Not to be confused with a familiar, Fragments take on interpretations of real creatures, objects or sometimes humanoids, while others take on mystical or abstract forms.
A fragment's strength depends upon the Mage in question. Their relationship with their magic, themselves and their personal affinities all dictate how a Fragment ends up forming and their abilities and personality.
Unlike familiars, they're unable to change once summoned. While it's impossible to know if summoning one later may have changed their appearance or abilities, there are incredibly few Mages who end up having grievances with the form their Fragment takes.
A familiar, while more adaptable, are much more limited in what they can and can't do. A familiar is summoned through a spirit pact and must be offered an appropriate vessel to take over.
Familiars can shift between a number of physical forms, though only ones they're familiar with, and unlike Fragments possess the ability to communicate telepathically, one-way. If a Fragment can talk, it's out loud, unless the form the Fragment's form explicitly has that ability.
