Lee Moran at HuffPost:
Former President Donald Trump’s “God Bless the USA Bible” has been condemned as “disgusting,” “blasphemous,” and a “cheap ploy” by evangelical Christian pastor Loran Livingston. Livingston ripped Trump’s $59.99 Bible during a sermon at the Central Church of North Carolina in Charlotte on April 14. Footage of his comments recently went viral on social media. Livingston also made anti-LGBTQ+ comments, described abortion as “murder” and the “premeditated termination of innocent human life” and slammed people who “get politics mixed up with church” in the lead-up to his attack on the Trump-endorsed holy book. Then he said, “When you don’t read and pray. You say, ‘Wow, there’s a Bible out now that includes the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, isn’t that wonderful?’ No, no. It’s disgusting. It’s blasphemous. It’s a ploy.” “Are you kidding me? Some of you are so encouraged by that. Let me tell you something. The gospel is not an American gospel. It is the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ,” Livingston added. He didn’t name the Trump Bible explicitly, but his references were apparent.
Evangelical Pastor Loran Livingston nails it: Donald Trump's "God Bless The USA" Bible is "disgusting" and "blasphemous."

We are not called to understand God. We are called to trust Him. - Loran Livingston Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Isaiah 55:8-9 8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. #Jesus #oneway #Jesusiscoming #Messiah #lambofGod #beready #lookup #redemption #focusonJesus #Godiswithyou #fearnot #trustGod #redemption #cross #secondcoming #Heaven #Jesuswillreturn #Godschildren #sealed #eternity #God #Jesuslovesyou #followJesus #seekGod #Godsword #scripture #dailyword #manna #prepareyourheart #GodissoGood #reminder https://www.instagram.com/p/CoAnFTDo2_P/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

experience vs. experience
experience: noun. direct observation of or participation in events as a basis of knowledge
experience: verb. to learn by experience; to undergo
Here's a church phrase for ya- "alter call." Now I don't know about every church, but if you're pentecostal this phrase can commonly be associated with: crying, praying, repentance, intercession, Holy Ghost baptism, whimsical emotions, and-
...wait a second. What was that last one? Whimsical emotions? Let's just say some people are more interested in the emotion/feelings of church than the.. well, experience. Let me explain. (disclaimer: in no way am I undermining what happens during alter services. I believe that they have their place and are very important in the church.)
Tonight, while at Tennessee Church of God camp meeting, Pastor Loran Livingston gave an alter call. The first one he gave, many people responded by going to the front of the sanctuary and praying. The second he gave was for anyone who wanted to redirect their focus toward "winning the lost." As he was speaking I remember thinking and slightly dreading the fact that I might have to go down to the front of the sanctuary.
And then something unexpected happened. Instead of the normal "then make your way down to these alters," my church-cultured-ears were shocked. "Then win one soul."
After the initial shock wore off and my ears had time to do a double-take, I began to really think this over in my mind. What good is an alter call if it is just an experience? What good would it have done for me to half-heartily walk down there just to half-heartily pray and half-heartily try to make changed to my life? But if we as the church begin to make alter calls more than just and experience, and instead if we commission people to live the change by experience in their life, how much farther could the church go?
My challenge to you- Don't just have an experience. Live the experience by getting experience.
