Most unicorns are lithe and unostentatious to suit their secretive, forest-dwelling lives - but in harsher climates, you sometimes see more varied shapes and coat patterns. The unicorns of the Great Lakes, for example, have a evolved a certain odd and rugged style all their own.

A loon has the absolutely worst day ever.

Raptor Education Group Inc (you can find the post on facebook) says there is a "Loon Fallout" happening currently in Wisconsin due to the weather conditions causing loons to crash land. If your in that area and you see a Loon throw a towel over it and get it to a rehab so they can check it over and release it into an appropriate body of water. Don't throw them in ponds as they need quite a large body of water to get air borne. They cannot walk but their beaks can be dangerous so be careful.

amt'aa - loon

i don't know if this is the actual etymology, but the sm'algya̱x word for loon seems to break down into "aam" (good) and "t'aa" (sit), which to me invokes the way they sit calmly on the water. i've been having a lot of gastro health issues the past few years; during the lowest point of it so far a couple months ago, i sketched this. i'm jealous of that kind of tranquility that the loon embodies, the peace of being able to partake in eating joyfully, hence the fish swimming in its abdominal area.

i finally had my gallbladder out last week which might not cure me completely but should solve a significant problem, at least. i hope i get to experience synchronicity with myself, my body, and the things i love to indulge in again soon
