Hey, I got tagged for a thing by @squintyfist and @shadowspecre, thanks for thinking of me! So I’m gonna start off and say that a lot of these are definitely based in romance fic and I just….very rarely read anything with romance...so I will answer them mainly with the idea of GEN fic in mind if I can pull it off lol. Thanks for tagging me! I don’t usually participate in these things.

1. Slowburn or Love at First Sight (Love at first sight seems boring to me UNLESS- It’s like love of parent to child at first sight, where the child is nervous about it and then you get a nice combo pack)

2. Fake Dating or Secretly Dating

3. Enemies to Lovers or Best Friends to Lovers

4. "Oh no, there's Only One Bed," or Long Distance Correspondence (I go with this because I’m currently writing a fic with a lot of long distance correspondence lmao, but the one bed trope can work well in gen fic still if people need to work on their issues, like say a pair of friends or siblings who are in a FIGHT and not speaking to each other and then they get to their hotel room and….ugh.)

5. Hurt/Comfort or Amnesia (honestly like, what’s the point of any store without some h/c)

6. Fantasy AU or Modern AU (I enjoy both though AU’s in general are not usually what I gravitate toward.)

7. Mutual Pining or Domestic Bliss (Even though the fic I’m writing is entirely, and COMPLETELY gen, I think of it a bit like mutual pining, both characters wanting to fix things, with some previous hurt thrown in there for spice)

Slow burn or love at first sight: hahah okay, I’m still like the 10 years old me obsessed with wattpad that wants to know since the very beggining something’s gonna happen and not only crying for them bc they look cute and they’re not together (omg haha that’s what never happened with nabrina, it was a slow burn for sure and I loved that on them)

Fake dating or secretly dating: Gosh, I love to see ships growing up while they’re kind of denying those feelings haha and that happens a lot in fake dating while in secretly dating you already know they’ve confessed each other, I love drama lmao

“Oh no, there’s only one bed” or long distance correspondence: LMAO I’m not lying when I tell u’all that haha I´ve got a crush and I’m currently having these fantasies where idk why we go to a hotel and this happens, I’m part of the fan community and it shows.

Hurt/comfort or amnesia: Well, I guess that in a certain way amensia hurts less than hurt/comfort and it’s actually pretty emotional, anyways I believe both work out together awesome, like first we have the hurt stage, bad things happen and its almost hard to believe they’re getting back together most of the cases because of the pride but then let’s have a amnesia stage where they rebuilt this relationship since the beginning, that´s poetic cinema, change my mind.

Enemies to lovers or best friends to lovers: I’m kind of tired of the enemies to lover stories but I have to mention they’re pretty interesting, best friends to lovers it’s sometimes expected but natural at the same time i guess, am I dying for a stage where Nick and Sabrina get to be super confident to each other and bfriends? Yeah, I’d love to! (and then they get married for sure cof cof nabrina endgame)

Mutual pining or domestic bliss: Gosh, this one is hard so I’ll leave it like BOTH

Smut or fluff: BOOOOOOOOOOTTTTHHHHHHH

Fantasy au or Modern au: I don’t usually read modern au, just in the case when it’s about tv series/movies with a modern world obviously but I truly identify that writers on bot au have to be very talented to get to something, even more with the modern au given that maybe they don’t have a lot of resources as the fantasy ones bc they can create a lot of things (but related obv or it gets ridiculous), anyways I live for the fantasy au

Alternative universe or future fic: Both, sometimes when things are getting dark or not in the way I enjoy you can live through the alter one or if things are perfect you wanna see more and go through the future fic or viceversa, I’m currently dying for the alter one rn with Nabrina

Kid fic or Road Trip fic: I’m currently on the road trip, they’re so funny and I’m truly watching the screen without blinking and crying lol but I usually change my mind and get back to the kid fic, I guess it’s fair

Canon compliant/missing scenes or fix-it: I can’t decide, both are necessary for this emotional heart of mine haha

Reincarnation or character death: You don’t have any idea how much do I love reincarnation, interesting, romantic, everything, if you have stories like that tell me pls

One-shot or multi chapter: I guess it depends on my mood but I usually go more for multi chapter

Time travel or isolated together: Back to the future is my fav movie ever but I hate time travel bc that’s so freaking confusing at least for me like in Part 3

HURT/COMFORT or amnesia (though really, amnesia fits INTO hurt/comfort quite nicely though I’m not a huge fan of it. Also apparently there’s a creepy type of hurt/comfort that I’ve only run into once, where the person was turned on by the vulnerability of a severely-wounded friend they are taking care of and I was VERY uncomfy. It’s fine if the ‘comfort’ comes AFTER the person has recovered but the other way has implications I’m not comfortable with haha)

fantasy au or modern au (I don’t typically like fantasy au and I don’t know why. Maybe because it’s so hard to do? I WILL however like a fairy-tale au occasionally)

MUTUAL PINING or domestic bliss (my ULTIMATE WEAKNESS. But there NEEDS to be some kind of (happy PLEASE) conclusion to all of the pining or my heart will end up shattered on the floor. The good part of mutual pining is that the feelings of unrequited love are FALSE and TEMPORARY)

smut or fluff (I love some good smut, but I think if I had to choose, I’d choose fluff. It’d be a hard choice, but fluff. The best is smut WITH fluff)

canon compliant or fix-it-fic (when a story is really really satisfying, I tend to not be super interested in fanfic about it, if a story has left out some details that I desperately want filled in, or I saw the potential for a ship that wasn’t fulfilled THEN fanfic is necessary. Also a lot of anime/manga/modern superhero/action movies have MILLIONS of plot holes, unfleshed out characters, potential ships that aren’t followed up on and deaths that could have been avoided, or changed. Which is generally why I don’t read fanfic about books, and do read fanfic about manga/anime/movies/video games.)

alternate universe or future fic (AU because AU covers a multitude of different things that I love.)

one-shot or multi-chapter (neither? chapter length generally changes between authors. My fav length of fic generally tends to be 20k to 150k. 20k is perfect for one sitting and 150k is good for a few days. stuff below 5k is generally for AFTER I’ve read the 20k and 150k fics. 300k+ generally tends to be too long and take too long to read and really fuck my life up depending on how good it is (because I have no self-control, and will go without food, bathroom breaks, and presence (physical and mental) in classes). I guess this would be multi-chapter because I do like a relatively chunky fic though 20k can be like 15 chapters, or 1 chapter. It really depends.)

kid fic or road trip fic (definitely not kid fic. Sometimes I can handle it, but mostly I’d definitely choose road trip over children.)

reincarnation or character death (neither? It’s hard to find a good reincarnation fic and I prefer writing character death to reading it)

arranged marriage or accidental marriage (leads the way to mutual pining, and people being noble for the wrong reasons)

high school romance or middle-aged romance (I don’t like high school fics...or high school media of any kind really.)

time travel or isolated together (time travel is really hard to do right. I have a few authors on ao3 who write a damn good time-travel fic. But the ones I tend to like the most are the time travel that are intertwined with fix-it. I don’t see a lot of isolated together, but they are some of my favorites when I can find them.)
