Palouse Falls by Benjamin Noblitt Via Flickr: This photo was taken on the night before the Great American Solar Eclipse out in Eastern Washington. It was a little out of the way, but it was worth the extra driving time to see this waterfall that I have been meaning to see for a long time. It was even nicer since it was with my dad! The clouds made some nice colors, but only for a second. I was able to catch the last few rays of light on them. Overall, this is not an awesome photo, but it is one of a good memory and that makes it that much nicer for me to enjoy. Hopefully you all can enjoy it as well!

It's been a while since I have done a creative night edit like this. These are actual light trails from passing cars going through Joshua Tree National Park in the evening. I took multiple shots with long shutter speeds to capture the movement of the taillights, blended the images, and then edited them with color.

if Halloween can´t be celebrated there, then what do they celebrated there or is there no celebration? (i hope you understand my english, i speak spanish)
Tumblr media
There isn't any sort of celebration as far as I know of? I've passed houses and Lerkrims of people hosting parties and the like, but that's the closest I've seen. But no, I don't think anyone does holidays here. If they do, I haven't seen anyone celebrate it. Hey, maybe that'll be something someone can do. Set up a haunted house year round. Randomly go decorate. Make a halloween costume just for the sake of it. Seems like fun to me.

Summer in Granite by Benjamin Noblitt Via Flickr: I recently flew back home for a mini vacation recently. The area was inundated with smoke from the forest fires up in British Columbia so it was very smoky and visibility was poor. My dad and I were looking for a place to photograph and decided on some waterfalls because of the poor air quality. I searched around for a bit and came@up on this one. It is a gorgeous place, but requires a bit of trailblazing and bushwhacking to get there. Undeterred we set out and were able to find it pretty easily. In person is is a much larger waterfall than it appears in the image. Overall, it was a great way to spend a smoky day with my dad! This is a very large panoramic photo (9 images) that were combined to make this image, probably equivalent to a 24 mm image or so and is about 165 megapixels in full resolution! Hopefully it will be a nice print some day! Enjoy

Do you have a particular organization you work with for providing disaster relief?
At the moment, no. My dad and several of my neighbors have been helping out with various local groups, but so far my donations have been things like clothes I had on hand that happened to be the size my neighbor's coworker, who lost their house in a flood, needed, or stuff like that The baby blankets are going to a different neighbor's kid's school, who is arranging donations for...I think it's a particular city but I am not sure how to reveal what city without giving away where I live more precisely than I really want to? I live close enough to the flooding that I don't really need to work with an organization, because everyone in my neighborhood is at max two degrees of separation from someone who lost everything in the floods. I can give things, including baby blankets, directly to the families affected. I mean, that said, I am giving them to my neighbors to distribute, but that's because I can't drive and a lot of the places donations are going you can't drive to at the moment anyway. One of my neighbors is organizing people with ATVs to go take food, water, fuel, and other necessities up to some of the communities that currently have no road access I got very, very lucky with where I live and the infrastructure that happened to be in place*. There was severe flooding less than ten minutes away from where I live in more than one direction, but where I live made it and enough of the roads are intact to be able to get out. Some routes are more circuitous than they used to be, but it's still possible
*by happened to be in place I mean in my particular neighborhood and the work my dad has had done in our yard, not the rest, I know a lot of people over a lot of years made the infrastructure of the larger area
