Look man I'm tired, I can't keep coming up with these catchy similarity based showdown titles
All propaganda and what each competitor is from under the cut
Anthony Lockwood (Lockwood and Co)
Lockwood (he's known by his surname mostly) is the mysterious, daredevil and charming founder of Lockwood and Co., a detective agency specialised in protecting people from angry -and sometimes sort of hungry- ghosts in a world where they're rampant. His agency is starting small despite Lockwood bragging it's the best in London but get more and more recognition as the series progress and the agents composing them meet success (when they're not on the verge of dying). Lockwood has open manners but hid his painful past from his coworkers to protect himself. He and George, the first teenager he recruited, are quite stunned by Lucy, a country girl who fled to London after disaster striked in her hometown. Thanks to her talent, she quickly becomes known as one of the best ghost fighter in London and finds her place in the small team despite having the same determination to hide her past than Lockwood, which draws him close to her, making George jealous, but Lockwood's manifest good skills in leadership and the three of them become fast friends while unravelling secret truths and risking their lives repeatedly
He has a lot of trauma and a lot of pain but he always smiles and always has a warm and polite attitude; he’s so protective of the ones he loves that it overrides his suicidal tendencies; at the end of the series he starts to heal from his past; he’s hot but has only two braincells.
Shadow the Hedgehog (Sonic the Hedgehog franchise)
Shadow was created to help cure Robotnik's daughter, Maria, who suffers from the in-universe equivalent of AIDS. However, the us military catches wind of this and wants to use Shadow as a weapon. They storm the facility, kill Robotnik, KILL MARIA, but not before she ejects Shadow in a stasis pod that freezes him for 50 years. He has a black and red palette and owns a gun
I've come to make an announcement: Shadow the Hedgehog's a bitch-ass motherfucker. He pissed on my fucking wife. That's right. He took his hedgehog fuckin' quilly dick out and he pissed on my FUCKING wife, and he said his dick was THIS BIG, and I said that's disgusting. So I'm making a callout post on my Twitter.com. Shadow the Hedgehog, you got a small dick. It's the size of this walnut except WAY smaller. And guess what? Here's what my dong looks like. That's right, baby. Tall points, no quills, no pillows, look at that, it looks like two balls and a bong. He fucked my wife, so guess what, I'm gonna fuck the earth. That's right, this is what you get! My SUPER LASER PISS! Except I'm not gonna piss on the earth. I'm gonna go higher. I'm pissing on the MOOOON! How do you like that, OBAMA? I PISSED ON THE MOON, YOU IDIOT! You have twenty-three hours before the piss DROPLETS hit the fucking earth, now get out of my fucking sight before I piss on you too!
#poll#lockwood and co#anthony lockwood#sonic fandom#sonic the hedgehog#shadow the hedgehog#i'm not fucking kidding that someone submitted the pissing on the moon monologue as propaganda for shadow. i'm having the time of my life

quick round up of the latest character updates bc here on stormlit dot tumblr i love adding muses too much
GRÉTA TOVASDOTTEN, d.ragon age origins. the cut "human barbarian" origin from dao. avvar, from the frostback mountains, recruited by duncan after a neighbouring clan entirely wipes out her hold. already a warrior, gréta thinks she's meant to be a bloodthirsty reaver like her sister was, but discovers that fighting as a form of defence of others is what she's good at; she specialises as a guardian, and despite her blunt manner and lack of so-called respect for fereldan nobles making everything worse with their petty squabbles, becomes known for protecting the innocent and standing up for those who cannot. officially is probably the one to sacrifice herself against the archdemon. unofficially, spurns the landsmeet, refuses any boon and will not decide fereldan politics in any way, and goes to be warden-commander (but not arlessa) in amaranthine.
CATRIONA COUSLAND, d.ragon age origins. non-warden sibling of the warden, (barely) survives the attack on castle cousland because one of the few remaining guards pulls her out of the rubble and gets her into hiding. ser ailsa becomes cat's closest friend and protector. was never really a fighter anyway, but she becomes disabled as a result of the attack, and cannot fight. spends the blight living under the identity of nell mather, between highever and denerim, working to help those mistreated by howe's barbaric rule and struggling as darkspawn refugees; she organises prison breaks, sets up an underground hospital, enlists her mac eanraig family to smuggle in supplies. spends most of the blight thinking she's the last remaining cousland, til she discovers her warden sibling by accident; cannot see them for the longest time because she's nell now, she can't be cat. but eventually they reunite, and she helps by sending them info on howe's/darkspawn movements and rallying support of highever's vassal houses. is very much Not Okay after the blight.
F.RED B.URKLE, angel. rescued from being trapped in a demon hell dimension for five years, becomes the resident scientist, mathematician, computer whiz, and inventor of angel investigations, an LA-based private detective agency that specialises in vampires, demons, magic, and general weirdness. highly intelligent, cannot stop talking, easily underestimated, and an absolute survivor in any kind of awful circumstances, fred is kindhearted but has a lot of inner strength, and a vengeful streak. she's not really a fighter, but uses her innocence and ability to hide to throw people off. we don't talk about illyria i'm not there yet in my rewatch.
LAYLA KIM, fantasy oc. she's back, baby. a minor celeb after winning bake off years ago, layla is the owner of sweet dreams bakery in london, which sells the best cakes, cookies, and sweet treats you've ever had. they're also enchanted with minor spells to give small, temporary, positive boosts to the eater, ranging from happiness and good luck to temporary hp or damage resistance. normal people just think they make them feel great. sweet dreams also operates as a safe haven for the magic and mystical community where people can rest, share info, trade spell components, and buy layla's more potent enchanted items. she's a ray of sunshine, she's a warm hearth, she's willing to break her pacifism only for those who threaten her daughter. also she's chronically ill and disabled which massively impacts her life and is v important to mention ty.
#OOC.#i missed layla i just brought her more into the iwtv vibe bc brainrot#(she's terrified of vampires i can't wait to make her get to know some)

Celebrating Black photographers during BHM
The interminable month of January is ending, bringing February to a close and kicking off the festivities of Black History Month. From February 1 to March 1, black culture from all diasporas will be in the spotlight.
This practice dates back to 1926, in the United States. Born to formerly enslaved parents, historian Carter G. Woodson is the second African-American man to receive a doctorate from Harvard University. Heading the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History, he proposed creating a week devoted to the history of black communities. In 1960, the festivities were extended to a full month. In 1976, Black History Month was recognized by the U.S. government.
As a photography enthusiast, I'd like to honor two black photographers I discovered during a visit to 180 Studios in London, where their work was exhibited.
Gabriel Moses
Aged 24, Gabriel Moses has an oscar worthy portfolio featuring the crème de la crème, having worked with Dior, Burberry, Adidas, Apple, Manchester United… He has built up a substantial client base over the years. Having started out as a self-taught photographer and videographer, his career took off at the age of 18 when he directed an ad for Nike, at 22 he became the youngest photographer to shoot the rapper Pa Salieu for the cover of Dazed magazine.
Much of his Nigerian cultural heritage is highlighted in his work in the form of family photographs, as are the women. Gabriel Moses pays homage to the women in his entourage who introduced him to the world of fashion and art.
Referring to Malian photographer Malick Sidibé as his inspiration, his work is characterized by textured effects and deep, dark tones, his models embody characters and his creations tell stories.
His first solo show, Regina 'A salute to women', took place last year at 180 Studios in London, and featured 50 of his creations, including shorts films.

Campbell Addy
Campbell Addy is a British-Ghanaian artist and photographer based in London. He draws inspiration from his culturally diverse upbringing, his work embraces distinctive narratives and genuine emotions, emphasizing unique casting choices that showcase underrepresented faces.
Addy established Nii Journal, a platform that embodies the representation he envisioned in shoots with friends and peers. Additionally, he founded Nii Agency, where he recruited diverse faces for casting and modeling, crafted to question conventional notions of beauty, it presented an alternative viewpoint on the definition of beauty and style within our contemporary fashion industry.
Since then the 29-years-old creative has worked for leading titles with artists as models such as Tyler The creator, FKA Twigs, Bukayo Saka, Beyonce ... and was chosen by Edward Enninful to capture his Time magazine cover.

Navigating the IT Jobs Market Within London
While new opportunities and prospects may seem exciting and enticing, charting a path for vacant IT jobs in London and the surrounding territory, while trying to find both work and living demands a strategic and planned approach and partnering with perhaps a specialist IT recruitment agency.
The city is amassed with major tech giants and conglomerates, including social media favourites like Google and Facebook, along with new budding, smart technology startups spanning sectors in finance, media, education, insurance healthcare, and governance bodies. Opting for available vacancies within London means finding, and embracing this vibrant city alive with diverse culture, leisure, and amenities. For many budding IT jobs in London seekers within the local surrounding areas, this work-life change can serve as the ideal career path and living opportunity, providing a wealth of available opportunities.
IT individuals seeking fresh horizons, and a more than lively social life, then the capital city stands as a brilliant and realistic, give-us-a-try vibe, to progress your chosen career path. Exploring and matching your preferred IT role and embarking on a successful job search for IT jobs in London, the hunt can sometimes entail the services of an IT recruitment agency and their team of consultants, by ideally aligning your professional interests, experience, and skills with available and suitable roles.
Try to diversify your search resources –using relevant social and digital platforms and contacting multiple IT recruiters can offer a big opportunity boost. Do not commit to the first interested agency you come across, engage proactively with several and gauge their responses both in time and clarity, along with your related search aspirations, and test their responsiveness to your skill sets and experience.
Not a British or dual nationality citizen! You do and will need to acquire a UK Work Visa: If you are an international jobseeker, then possessing a valid UK work visa or permit is paramount. A significant portion of London businesses and companies, as well as other UK major cities, employ IT workers that hail from overseas.
Your recruitment agency should be able to discuss, advise, and offer guidance on work application requirements. Check, and bear in mind any potential fees and other various requirements that need to be attended to, such as tax and health insurance, etc., based on your country of work and also your home country's tax or, earnings-related implications.
Accommodation: While an IT recruitment agency might be able to offer assistance and advice, the onus of finding accommodation lies with you. Several search platforms and agents can assist in this quest. Additionally, weigh the different pros and cons of transportation, living costs, and entertainment. Driving in the city may prove difficult and very challenging both in cost and time, but in general public transportation offers a reliable and viable alternative, at a cost.
Selecting accommodation that fits your budget, might mean a certain amount of travel time is involved, so be aware and prudent in any financial decision you make. Working in London not only provides a chance to work with smart and new cutting-edge technology but also offers a cosmopolitan lifestyle, brimming with cultural, entertainment, and social experiences.
Identifying job roles: Begin by pinpointing an IT recruitment agency that is aware and aligns with your understanding of the type of work requirements you seek. Check their expertise, and what they can offer and bring to your professional career trajectory. Though social media platforms can be of assistance, when looking for IT jobs in London, it's prudent to diversify your search. Remember, every agency promises to provide a unique job search experience and proactive perspective; finding the one that ideally resonates with your requirements is important and paramount.

Banking sector in UK provides a dedicated service both to Clients and job seekers
The banking sector is the key component of the financial system. Credit institutions conduct settlements, ensure the safeguarding of clients’ funds in bank accounts, and transform these funds into loans to the economy. A Bank is a financial institution licensed to receive deposits and make loans and to invest and earn profit. A Bank is a financial institution licensed to receive deposits and make loans. Two of the most common types of banks are commercial/retail and investment banks. Banks also engaged in providing payment services, thereby facilitating all entities to carry out their financial transactions. On the other hand, banks can create vulnerabilities of systemic nature, partly due to a mismatch in maturity of assets and liabilities and their interconnectedness. Therefore, the soundness of banks is important, as it contributes towards maintaining confidence in the financial system, and any failure may have the potential to impact on activities of all other financial and non-financial entities, and finally the economy. With the passage of time, the activities covered by banking business have widened and now various other services are also offered by banks. The banking services these days include issuance of debit and credit cards, providing safe custody of valuable items, lockers, ATM services and online transfer of funds across the country/world.
As the financial hub of the world, the UK offers some of the most diverse and exciting jobs in banking. In addition to more traditional banking roles, there are career opportunities at any of the numerous banks headquartered here. Banks look for economists, marketing, and HR, statisticians, media and government relations specialists and, connected to the explosion of financial technology, IT professionals. What’s often less well known is the contribution the industry makes to the UK’s regions and the career opportunities available via graduate schemes, apprenticeships or for those looking to return to work. Working for a bank is so varied; it could mean working in head office in marketing, HR or in any number of other roles including IT. As banking organizations are so large, there is always the chance to progress through the organization into other roles. Banks are well known for having well trained staff so whatever your job role is, you will be given the skills required to do the job and many of these skills are required for your job and many of these skills should be transferable. A career in banking offers both a competitive salary and excellent benefits. As a new starter you can expect around 23 days holiday a year and this will rise to 30 days after you’ve been there a while. Banking Sector recruitment agency in London is international in nature and some roles can offer excellent opportunities for travelling and working in other countries.
The fast-paced nature of the banking and financial services industry requires people who embrace change and can adapt quickly. They have the scale, insight and deep understanding in banking and financial services to help shape your hiring strategy. Using a customer-first and data-driven approach to meet your business needs within banking and financial services, they make it easy for you to deliver against the complex talent and recruitment landscape you need to navigate. Their dedicated financial services recruitment teams assist organizations in recruiting permanent, temporary and contract banking & financial services staff. Banking Sector recruitment agency in London consultants specialize on specific areas of banking and so they are able to offer advice and direction based on an in-depth understanding of your area of interest or requirement. With global operations and offices across the UK, their reach enables them to source the financial services skills and experience you need to support your business priorities.
Specific recommendations on prudential and market policy should help the industry better support the wider UK economy. They are also adamant about the “digital first” approach the UK should be taking, with the aim of leading global innovation in areas such as data sharing, open banking and digital IDs. The shift to remote working and virtual customer service has dramatically changed how services are delivered. Without the usual in-person customer engagement, lenders have been forced to find creative, innovative and collaborative solutions in a short space of time to ensure the customer demand is met. For an incumbent bank, digital transformation has become a herculean task in an age saturated with technological options, requiring traditional lenders to embrace unpredictability, maintain agility and digitize to the core, which requires support from agile fetch players. From building an agile platform to meet the expectations of demanding customers, creating an optimized digital operating model, going beyond diversity and building a strong work culture, Top Banking Sector recruitment agency in London must address central challenges to lay the foundation for success.

"Rachel Chandler, a professional photographer and modeling agent, was reportedly involved in the casting process for Balenciaga. Chandler is being scrutinized online for her alleged links to Jeffrey Epstein.
The speculation comes amid the scandal surrounding Balenciaga's recent controversial ad. The luxury fashion house landed in hot water for its gift collection campaign that featured children posing with plush bear purses wearing outfits based on themes of b*ndage.
The company also faced backlash over its Spring 2023 campaign ad that consisted of a photo featuring printouts of a 2008 Supreme Court ruling on child p*rnography.
Amid the ongoing controversy, British influencer Oli London has claimed that the brand deliberately designed the campaign and is "deeply involved in child abuse and exploitation." London has been quite vocal in condemning Balenciaga's campaign.London has also asked their followers to research about Balenciaga's association with Rachel Chandler. They further opened up about a theory on the latter's alleged connection to Epstein while speaking to GBN Live:
“In 2016, one of the people who recruited all of the models for Balenciaga’s runway show was a woman called Rachel Chandler who has been on Jeffrey Epstein’s island. She has even posted the picture on Instagram of CCTV footage back in 2013, bragging about being on an island.”
They further added:
“If you look at her modeling agency every single one of the models looks like a trafficking victim. You can see they’ve got very dark circles under the eye and people need to research that.”
While Chandler is the co-founder of the Midland modeling agency, which lists Balenciaga as one of its clients, there is no official account of the former's connection to Epstein.
Chandler previously went viral over an old photo with former US president Bill Clinton. Several conspiracy theorists claimed the photo was allegedly taken on Epstein's private plane while on their way to the latter's infamous island.

Who remembers Rachel Chandler? Think #Epstein Island…..
Coincidence that she also recruited models for #Balenciaga?
I don’t believe in coincidence. #grooming
However, no official confirmation about the photograph's actual location has been made available to the public.
Rachel Chandler's modeling agency represents renowned clients
Rachel Chandler is a professional photographer and modeling agent from Los Angeles. She reportedly moved to New York to study History of Art at Gallatin School and eventually started interning for arts organizations and photographers, including Patrick Demarchelier.
According to her official bio, Chandler provides an "intimate portrayal of the social and creative scene in which she works, lives and operates in" through her work. She reportedly began serving as a photographer for Purple Diary after meeting editor Olivier Zahm through mutual friends.
She has also been a contributing photographer for Industrie online and Vogue. Chandler also founded the New York-based Midland Agency with Walter Pearce in September 2016.
The modeling agency focuses on casting and management and represents a large group of models. Some of their clients include brands like Gucci, Marni, Fenty, Balenciaga, Miu Miu, Louis Vuitton, Saint Laurent, Zara, Gap, Comme Des Garcons, Telfar, and Jason Wu.
Twitter shares theories about Rachel Chandler's alleged Epstein connection
Netizens are sharing conspiracy theories about Rachel Chandler's Epstein link amid the Balenciaga scandal (Image via Twitter/Savage Daughter)
Balenciaga continues to face outrage on social media over its latest controversial ad campaign featuring children. Photographer Rachel Chandler's association with the brand and alleged connection to Jeffrey Epstein has also gone viral online.
In an old interview with Vice's i-D Magazine, Chandler claimed that she helped curate the lineup for Balenciaga Creative Director Demna Gvsalia's fall/winter 2016 Balenciaga show.
“The casting director was a friend of a friend and he needed help," she said at the time. "I suggested a few people for them and they ended up taking all of my suggestions! So I thought, ‘Ok, I must be good at this.’”
Chandler was later identified in a photo where she was seen posing with Bill Clinton inside an airplane.
According to fact-checking site Snopes, the picture first surfaced online in 2006. It was originally shared with a caption that suggested Clinton was posing with a 19-year-old college student inside billionaire venture capitalist Ron Burkle's private plane.
Several years later, conspiracy theorists claimed that Clinton and Chandler's photo was from Epstein's "Lolita Express" private plane. As the theory has resurfaced online amid Balenciaga's ad campaign controversy, several social media users have taken to Twitter to share their theories about Chandler.
@OliLondonTV
You want to see how deep and dark Balenciaga’s abuse of kids goes?
She is a model agent, provides a lot of models for brand. All models in her agency look like Trafficking Victims. She was on Epstein Island she even posted CCTV pic from Island
If they think Balenciaga is bad:
Wait until they hear about Rachel Chandler, Les Wexner and the modeling industry's deep ties to Epstein Island.
"I had a feeling there would be a Rachel Chandler-Balenciaga connection and there it is!🏻The models at Balenciaga and Midland, a “modeling & casting agency” founded by Chandler, look abused and like real trafficking victims!"
Rachel Chandler and Balenciaga connected - wow!!
Great find - thanks @Shorty56167141 twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
The photography agency behind the Valenciaga shoot is run by Rachel Chandler a Jeffrey Epstein assistant. You've seen her photo taken on Epstein's Lolita Express with Bill Clinton. twitter.com/PowerOurPeople…
Balenciaga, Rachel Chandler… On the flight logs for Epstein Island. Did everyone who went to Epstein Island participate in Child Trafficking? I would assume not and certainly hope not. It is grounds for reasonable suspicion. What I can say, is the model woman, probably in on it.
While theories continue to pour in online, it is to be noted that Rachel Chandler has never been involved in any legal proceedings related to Epstein, who was convicted of child trafficking. Reports suggest that Chandler has also never been charged with any crime herself.
Although Clinton reportedly flew in Epstein's private plane in the past, his spokesperson has previously denied that his photo with Rachel Chandler was taken inside Lolita Express. The latter has also never publicly confirmed or denied rumors about the photograph."
We've talked about Rachel Chandler before, haven't we @gatorfisch

[PROLOGUE TO GHOST LOCK]ANTHONY LOCKWOOD X FEMALE! OC
OC’S NAME- ALYSSA CARLYLE
WARNINGS- CHILD ABUSE AND GRAPHIC DETAILS OF AN INJURY.
SYNOPSIS- ALYSSA AND HER SISTER LUCY ARE ON THE RUN FROM THEIR MOTHER AFTER THEIR BEST FRIEND NORRIE WHITE WAS TOUCHED BY A GHOST. THEIR MOTHER & THE ENTIRE SHITTY TOWN BLAMED THEM FOR NORRIE’S DEATH.
ALYSSA’S POV
Luce and I were running towards the train station in our little town after our last beating from our mother. She had sliced mine and luce’s wrists and sprained my ankle. So I was hobbling along as fast as I could. Luce had bought us two one-way tickets to London to finish the dream Norrie, Luce and I had. When we arrived, we headed straight to Fittes. We both had our fake 4th-grade certificates. But there were too many people there and I almost had a panic attack so we headed to get some food.
LUCY’S POV
Alyssa and I had just stopped for food and drink when I saw an advert on the table for a ‘Lockwood & Co’ ‘Interesting’ I muttered. My twin heard me ‘What is it, Luce?’ She asked looking over my shoulder. ‘Ghost Hunting agency looking for recruits’ ‘Where are they based?’ she asked. ‘About a 5-minute walk from here. So if we shift our arses we can get there before 6 pm.’ Alyssa stood up at that and went to pay because she had all of the money she earned from Jacobs & Co in her account. She went back after mum left to do it though so she was risking a lot. ‘Now Luce shall we head to this Lockwood & Co?’ I nod and we head to 35 Portland Row. My sister knocks on the door. ‘Lockwood and Co. You're not Ariff’s new girls.’ ‘Ariff? Who the fuck is Ariff?’ My sister asks this kid at the door. ‘Are you Mr Lockwood?’ I question him. ‘Mr Lockwood, ha you must have me for a fool. I’m George Karim. And you are……..’ ‘Lucy and Alyssa Carlyle’ My sister introduced us. ‘Right Ladies this way one of them has just gone in but by the sound of it she won't be long.’ He showed Lyssa and I into a corridor there was a staircase going up and one going down. ‘Ugh, that’s horrible!’ Someone shouted from what I guessed was the Living room.
ALYSSA’S POV
He showed Luce and I into a corridor there was a staircase going up and one going down. ‘Ugh, that’s horrible!’ Someone shouted from what I guessed was the Living room. She ran out and shouted a very hurried hello goodbye to Luce and I. I walked into the room first and my breath caught in my throat. Whoever this was he’s fucking handsome. ‘George you won that was the last one. I just checked the list.’ He muttered as he turned around. ‘Then who are these two?’ George gave Luce and me a suspicious look. He turned around at that. His eyes landed on Lucy first, and then on me, his cheeks tinted a baby pink hue. ‘Hello Ladies, I am Anthony Lockwood, but everyone calls me Lockwood.’ ‘Hi Lockwood, I am Lucy and this is my sister…’ I clear my throat at that. ‘My twin sister Alyssa.’ I do a very sarcastic curtsy and when I stand back up luce elbows me in the ribs. ‘Ha Alyssa, you must be the sarcastic one?’ He guessed and I nodded as my cheeks gained the same baby pink hue as Lockwood's. ‘Right Ladies shall we get this interview started? George, can you please go put the kettle on? I have a feeling that these ladies will be staying with us.’ ‘Lockwood we have wasted too many tea bags. If these guys leave you have to pay for this week's shopping!’ Lockwood scoffed at this and just nodded at George telling him to just go and make some cuppas. He told Lucy and me to sit down and just wait for George to arrive. George placed Lockwood, His, Lucy and my teas on the coffee table. I took a sip of mine before Lockwood conducted the interview. He first asked us what the first thing on the table was ‘It’s a skull in a ghost jar.’ Lucy deadpanned. I on the other hand picked it up and close my eyes. You see I’m a listener excellent listener in fact but I prefer to touch, that way I can feel and see how this ghost died but I felt nothing. ‘Huh that’s weird, I can’t see anything from its past. Do y’all know how it died?’ ‘No, George stole it from Fittes!’ Lockwood laughed. I started to giggle at that point too. The interview continued from that point. We were all laughing until Lockwood played a prank on us and Lucy got extremely pissed. Lockwood gave us the job though. ‘Now we have one problem. We only have one spare room.’ ‘Lucy can have it. I’ll take the sofa.’ I called out. I can’t, not let Lucy have a proper bed. ‘Lyss…’ ‘No Luce, you will take the spare room, I will take the sofa.’ Lucy stopped after that.
LOCKWOOD’S POV
Damn Alyssa is hot and I can’t take my eyes off her. Once we had Lucy settled into her room, Lyssa and I headed down to the Kitchen to have some tea. We started to doodle on the thinking cloth. Lyssa threw the first insult and we continuously did that until she passed out on the table. I picked her up bridal style and carried her into my bedroom. Once we got to my bed I tucked Lyssa in and kissed her forehead good night. I crawled into bed beside her and stayed a distance away from her. I didn’t want to spook her. As I started to drift off to sleep when Lyssa move closer to me. She curled herself into my side and I felt her relax.
ALYSSA’S POV
I found myself in Lockwood's arms as he lifted me upstairs to his room, he placed me on his bed and kissed me on the forehead. He climbed in next to me. He tried to stay as far away as possible, I, on the other hand, moved closer to him to feel more comfortable. I curled into his side and relaxed. He draped his arm over my waist. I felt a blush rise on my cheeks. ‘Alyssa? Are you awake?’ Lockwood whispered into my ear. I sheepishly nod and he moves me away to look into my eyes. There is a mischievous grin on his face as one of his hands moves onto my waist. His fingers dance along the bare skin and he started to tickle me. I was trying not to start screaming at him to stop. His face lit up when I started to beg him to stop tickling me and to just hold me close to him. He laughed at that and pulled me close. I felt safe. I fell asleep almost instantly to the calm beat of his heart and the soft kisses placed on my face and the crown of my head. He fell asleep a couple of minutes after me.
LOCKWOOD’S POV
I woke up for the first time in a good couple of weeks. I felt a weight on my chest and the memories of last night came flooding back into my head as I chuckle so as not to wake Alyssa because I don’t know if this is the first night that she has had a decent night's sleep after being abused at home more times than she can count. She would be abused more than Luce. Alyssa looks peaceful for the first time I had seen her in the past 15 hours. Her breathing was barely above a whisper. I moved the hair that was covering her eyes, she stirred at that. ‘Good morning Love’. ‘Lockwood?’ ‘Yes Darling, don’t worry you’re safe and protected. I’ve got you.’ I held her close as she tried to move away from me. ‘Lockwood let me gooooo!’ she whined as I pulled her closer if that was possible. Then she found my only weakness. I am very ticklish. She tickled me and I let go to push her hands away. She was laughing like a maniac. ‘Oh you little shit, I’m going to get you!’ I start to get up out of bed and she runs towards the door and yanks it open. ‘GEORGE LUCY SOMEONE HELP MEEEEEE! LOCKWOOD’S TRYING TO TICKLE MEEEEEEEEEE!’ She shouted through the entire 35 Portland Row. At this point, we were both pissing ourselves with laughter as George and Lucy walked down the stairs into the kitchen. I had Alyssa pinned under me on the counter as I was tickling her hips. Lucy started to piss herself and tickled George from what I could hear with the laughter from them both. That morning turned into one filled with laughter and a very messy cookie-baking session. Alyssa had thrown flour over Lucy and I and it just started from there. We all ended up covered in either the batter mix or the ingredients of said batter.
ALYSSA’S POV
Lockwood and I ended the day by planning for our next mission. One that was a simple type one haunting an old lady. She had stopped by that afternoon before our cookie disaster. She laughed when she saw that I had a little bit of flour on my face. She came over to me and wiped it off. ‘There we go deary, you had a little something on your face.’ She laughed and I thanked her. She said it was no problem and bid us goodbye. Lockwood and I walked her out. 'Are you two a couple by any chance?' She asked us. 'Umm no ma'am we are not a couple.' Lockwood stated. 'What a pity.' Was her final statement before leaving us. Lockwood looked at me and laughed. Later on in the evening Lockwood pulled me upstairs to bed and pulled me close and we fell asleep like that. In each other's arms not knowing what tomorrow will bring.

Experts say this practice carries a heightened risk of maternal mortality. It is not widely available in the UK, with triple embryo transfers banned in all but exceptional circumstances.” Surrogacy exploits poor women.
Shanti Das, Simon Bowers and Malia Politzer
Sun 18 Dec 2022 03.00 EST
Women recruited by an international surrogacy agency to carry babies for wealthy clients are being asked to undergo “unethical” medical procedures that increase their risk of serious complications, an investigation suggests.
New Life Global claims to have brokered more than 7,000 cross-border deals between clients mostly based in the UK, western Europe and North America and surrogates in countries including Mexico, Colombia, India, Ukraine and Georgia.
Facebook adverts offer women the chance to earn life-changing money to be surrogates, while marketing says “commissioning parents” including same-sex couples and those struggling with fertility problems are “guaranteed” a baby.
But a joint investigation by international media outlets including the Observer, funded by the Pulitzer Center and coordinated by Finance Uncovered, has found evidence of ethically questionable and potentially illegal practice by the agency, which has a UK-registered firm and offices around the world. New Life denied the allegations, saying it has helped thousands of couples “achieve their goals” and operates in full compliance with local laws.
Analysis of marketing materials, contracts and other documents suggests the company has for years taken advantage of lax regulation in developing countries to offer controversial services to clients not available to them in their home countries.
Websites for several New Life branches, including those in Georgia and Ukraine, promote multi-embryo transfer, which involves two or three embryos being implanted into surrogates and increases the chance of twins or triplets being born.
Experts say this practice carries a heightened risk of maternal mortality. It is not widely available in the UK, with triple embryo transfers banned in all but exceptional circumstances.
New Life branches, including those in Asia, Mexico and Ukraine, which is currently closed due to the war, also allow or have recently allowed clients to select the sex of their baby. Clients might want to do this “to balance the gender in the family”, to prevent genetic disorders linked to a particular sex and to meet “cultural and social norms”, its website says.
While permitted in those New Life locations, sex selection for non-medical reasons is banned in Australia, Canada, the UK and other countries in Europe. The Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority, which regulates fertility clinics in the UK, said it had no control over treatments offered abroad but described the findings as “extremely concerning”.
It said selecting the sex of a child for any reason other than preventing serious inherited illness was allowed in some countries but “strictly prohibited by UK law”, and that the offer to implant multi embryos was “deeply worrying”. “A multiple pregnancy increases the risk of stillbirth, neonatal death and disability. Risks to [the surrogate] include late miscarriage, high blood pressure, pre-eclampsia and haemorrhage,” it said. There is no suggestion the practices were offered in the UK.
Separate evidence suggests New Life may have flouted UK laws when brokering agreements linked to its London-registered entity, New Life Global Network LLP. While altruistic surrogacy is permitted in the UK, commercial surrogacy is banned, with those brokering or offering to negotiate surrogacy arrangements for profit risking a three-month prison sentence and unlimited fine.
New Life is registered in the UK and says on its website that it is headquartered in London. It is actively offering to “meet parents willing to discuss surrogacy/egg donation options” in the UK and has issued contracts bearing the name of its UK entity.
Three legal experts who reviewed New Life contracts said they believe the firm may have violated UK laws.
Dr Kirsty Horsey, an expert in surrogacy law at Kent University, said: “The terms of the agreement are: you will find me a surrogate and I will pay you money for it,” which she said appeared to be a “criminal activity on their part”. Professor Emily Jackson, an expert in medical law and ethics at the London School of Economics, said the documents looked “really concerning”, adding: “I would avoid this [agency] with a bargepole.”
Founded in 2008 by Georgian doctor Mariam Kukunashvili, New Life Global offers low-cost surrogacy to international clients, many of whom live in countries where surrogacy is illegal, prohibitively expensive or the number of surrogates is limited.
In the UK, commercial surrogacy is banned but altruistic surrogacy is permitted and surrogates can be paid reasonable expenses. An historic lack of surrogates has driven some to look abroad. In 2020-21, more than 300 applications for parental orders were made, around half of whichwere international surrogacy arrangements.
With “hundreds of employees” worldwide and at least 16 active websites advertising services in 10 languages, New Life is a major agency catering to the demand and boasts of a “world renowned reputation”.
The women it recruits as surrogates typically come from lower income countries where regulation is nonexistent or relaxed. The amount they can earn ranges but Facebook ads recruiting New Life surrogates in Colombia last year said they would receive $12,000.
Legal experts believe New Life’s decision to operate in “grey markets” where surrogacy is neither legal or illegal leaves both surrogates and commissioning parents exposed. In these countries surrogacy agreements are unlikely to be enforceable by law, they say. In the UK, all surrogacy agreements are legally unenforceable.
New Life has previously said lax regulation allows it to operate with more freedom. The website for its former Kenya branch, which has now been removed, said the absence of “strict criteria and legal restrictions” in the country allowed it to provide “the best possible service to our intended parents by adjusting to patient individual needs in a very flexible and comfortable manner”.
In an extreme example, its branch in Ukraine previously suggested babies born with disabilities could be legally abandoned at an orphanage if they were unwanted, telling potential customers from overseas that, in the event of their surrogate giving birth to a baby with an “anomaly”, they “have a right to leave the baby” at an orphanage. “In this case government dedicated office from government side undertakes the responsibility toward baby and no lawyer is needed for this,” an FAQ page told customers until 2015.
This weekend, New Life Global denied claims of unethical practice and said all its branches operate in jurisdictions where commercial surrogacy is legal. After being contacted for comment, the company removed a section on its Georgian website that said it recommended multiple embryo transfer. The site for its Ukraine branch continues to promote the procedure, telling clients that “generally, it is a good practice to transfer more than 1 embryos (2 or 3 ) at a time”.
David Bezhuashvili, the firm’s owner and husband of Mariam Kukunashvili, its founder, said the materials were out of date.
“The guideline for multiple embryo transfers has been changed ... and companies under New Life strictly follow the rules on one embryo transfer,” he said.
“We have assisted many people to overcome poverty and earn a living,” Bezhuashvili added. “We have made our worthy contribution to the cause of human importance.”
The company did not answer questions about its UK operations or the enforceability of contracts issued by its London registered company, which it said “acts as an international marketing and promotion tool” for affiliates around the world.
“Due to the limited functions of the company in respect of marketing and promotion, the ownership structure has been simplified by top management,” Bezhuashvili added. Financial statements filed by the company in October show it reported earning £343,000 in commission in 2021-22, more than double the year before.
The Department of Healthsaid it was assessing evidence passed to it by the Observer and would refer it to relevant authorities if it appeared that UK laws on commercial surrogacy were being broken.“We encourage people considering surrogacy to remain in the UK, take independent legal advice and use recognised UK-based surrogacy organisations,” it said.

Pjotr Sauer at The Guardian:
The head of Telegram, Pavel Durov, has been charged by the French judiciary for allegedly allowing criminal activity on the messaging app but avoided jail with a €5m bail. The Russian-born multi-billionaire, who has French citizenship, was granted release on condition that he report to a police station twice a week and remain in France, Paris prosecutor Laure Beccuau said in a statement.
The charges against Durov include complicity in the spread of sexual images of children and a litany of other alleged violations on the messaging app. Durov, 39, was detained at Le Bourget airport, just outside Paris, on Saturday on suspicion of failing to act against illicit content on the service, including the exchange of child sexual imagery, drug trafficking and fraud. His surprise arrest has put a spotlight on the criminal liability of Telegram, the popular app with around 1 billion users, and has sparked debate over free speech and government censorship. Specialist French cybercrime and fraud detectives announced earlier this week that Durov’s arrest was part of a wide-ranging investigation into a failure to moderate alleged criminal activity on the messaging app. In a statement on Sunday, Telegram said it abided by European Union laws and that its moderation was “within industry standards and constantly improving”.
“Telegram’s CEO, Pavel Durov, has nothing to hide and travels frequently in Europe,” it said. “It is absurd to claim that a platform, or its owner, are responsible for abuse of that platform.” Durov, a self-styled libertarian often cast as “Russia’s Mark Zuckerberg”, lives in Dubai, where Telegram is based, and holds citizenship of France and the United Arab Emirates. He recently said he had tried to settle in Berlin, London, Singapore and San Francisco before choosing Dubai, which he has praised for its business environment and “neutrality”. Telegram has long been closely monitored by law enforcement agencies worldwide due to its alleged use by terrorist organisations, drug traffickers, arms dealers and far-right extremist groups for communication, recruitment, and coordination.
Telegram CEO Pavel Durov faces charges in France for allowing criminal and child sexual abuse material to reign on the platform.
