The Best of All Timelines Timeline
The Best of All Timelines is the ongoing saga that's the "canon" story on this blog. Unless something is set in an AU, this is the timeline where stuff happens in my drabbles. (I will also try to start tagging stuff that might not be "canon"--for example, if I write a hurt/comfort fic about somebody getting shot, that probably didn't happen.)
Here's how events shook out so far. Kind of a floating timeline, so I'm not putting dates in here, but I hope it makes sense. Some of this is linked to old roleplay parties, which should be available to reread HERE.
Monsters are freed. Sans and Papyrus make a home on the surface along with the other Undertale monsters in Ebott City and the surrounding area.
Sans messes with a certain machine in the basement and accidentally brings several other pairs of skeletons into this world. After comparing worlds, they name the other timelines Underswap, Underfell, Swapfell, Horrortale, and Mobtale. The boys try living together, but numerous arguments and awkward encounters send them scattering across the country.
No one thinks to check if the machine is still summoning skeletons from other worlds. Sans knows that more have come through, but hides it. The new skeletons are sent off to live their own lives.
Anne (that's me, y'all; we're all about self-indulgence here) meets Sans and Papyrus when they move to Littleton (a quiet village about half an hour from the city). They become friends and one summer the boys invite her to go and visit their other cousins. Anne loves all the boys so much that she tells them they're always welcome in her home. The boys become regular visitors.
Anne hosts a Halloween party with some of her new human friends and invites all the skeletons. The boys all like her new house so much that they gradually all move in. The house has more than enough room for everybody, which is good, because more cousins show up! The Mobtale brothers make an appearance around this time.
Anne hosts a Gyftmas party where the Mafiafell bros show up.
After a mysterious noise starts coming from the basement, the G!bros are discovered! They finally found a way out of the void through the machine. Although not everybody trusts them, they join the family.
A spring cleaning party uncovers strange magic items in the shed and the attic. The items are sent away to Alphys to study at her lab, but eventually are stolen by...somebody. This is an ongoing mystery.
More mysterious noises and then the basement explodes! The Outertale brothers crashland their spaceship through the machine, effectively destroying it. No more skeletons can come through that way, but there are more in the world than initially thought.
Gradually, we meet the Dancetale brothers, the Oceantale brothers, and the Farmtale brothers.
Somewhere in here, an old friend of the blog (@kezi-likes-undertale) invented a dream game machine that allows people to go into various AUs and play out stories. This has worked out really well (other than one hiccup with G! and Jess, but that was a one time thing...probably...)
Several of Anne's human friends have fallen in love with skeletons. Anne herself has fallen for Sweets (HT Papyrus). There are three weddings (Blue and Ray, Anne and Sweets, and Boss and Trashy). Other skeletons make relationships official. Lots of cuteness ensues.
Blue and Ray (@pureangleda) have a baby! Randy Bistroke Gaster is the first babybones born into the big family and everybody absolutely adores him!
TIME SKIP -- 5 years later!
Some of the skeletons moved out of Anne's house and into their own homes, either in the neighborhood (Skeleton Acres) or in the wider world (Littleton, Ebott City). The OT bros live in Ebott City and work at the botanical gardens/aquarium. A few moved further away or went on long trips. The MF bros are at their casino in Las Vegas. The DT bros are on a world dance tour. The UO bros live in the ocean near a vacation town called Sweet Sands, about an hour from Littleton. The farm bros have their farm about half an hour west of Littleton, near a town called Pinewood.
There are now six babybones in the family, with another one on the way! Ray and Blue have Randy (5) and Cherry (2). Anne and Sweets have Someday (4) and twins Grace and Gideon (2). Boss and Trashy have Poppy (2) and another baby on the way.
Randy had his fifth birthday party just before Gyftmas. It was Pokemon themed, as that is the lad's current obsession.
In January 2024, we pick up with the family one month after that party. From here on out, we'll have to figure out what happens next!

The case of an evangelical Christian designer from Colorado who refuses to build websites for same-sex couples lands in the U.S. Supreme Court Monday for oral arguments.
Why It Matters: For the second time in five years, a First Amendment case from Colorado pits religious freedom against the right of LGBTQ people to access services without discrimination, and puts the court in the middle of the nation's culture wars.
What To Know: Littleton's Lorie Smith, 38, objects to Colorado's Anti-Discrimination Act, saying it violates her free speech rights because it forces her to publish messages she opposes, in this case celebrating same-sex marriage on a wedding website. She preemptively sued the state in 2019.
• The law bans businesses open to the public from denying goods or services based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religion and other characteristics.
What She's Saying: "Colorado is compelling and censoring my speech and forcing me to design and create custom artwork that celebrates messages that go against my deeply held beliefs," Smith told Reuters in a recent interview. "My faith is at the core of who I am."
Between The Lines: The Denver-based 10th Circuit Court of Appeals in 2021 issued a divided ruling against Smith, siding with Colorado in deciding the law doesn't violate the First Amendment.
• Smith — backed by the conservative religious group Alliance Defending Freedom — appealed to the Supreme Court.
The Other Side: Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser says the nation's highest court has ruled in favor of state-level anti-discrimination laws and he will emphasize that precedent. The Biden administration and LGBTQ advocacy organizations are backing Colorado.
• “When a business says we're open to the public, that means they have to serve all members of the public," Weiser said in August, when he filed briefs with the court.
Flashback: In 2018, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of Colorado baker Jack Phillips, who refused to make a cake for a gay couple. But the narrowly applied ruling avoided the broader question of whether businesses can discriminate and be protected by the First Amendment.
What's Next: A ruling in 303 Creative LLC v. Elenis is expected by the end of June.

Alan Cumming and Jennifer Jason Leigh in The Anniversary Party (Jennifer Jason Leigh, Alan Cumming, 2001)
Cast: Jennifer Jason Leigh, Alan Cumming, Kevin Kline, Phoebe Cates, John C. Reilly, Jane Adams, Parker Posey, John Benjamin Hickey, Gwyneth Paltrow, Denis O'Hare, Mina Badie, Michael Panes, Jennifer Beals, Matt Malloy. Screenplay: Jennifer Jason Leigh, Alan Cumming. Cinematography: John Bailey. Production design: Emma Bailey. Film editing: Carol Littleton, Suzanne Spangler. Music: Michael Penn.
Hollywood professionals Alan Cumming and Jennifer Jason Leigh wrote, directed, and starred in The Anniversary Party, a movie about a gathering of Hollywood professionals. Which at least follows the advice to write about what you know. But that way lies a certain insularity, which is probably the biggest problem their movie has. Watching it made me feel like an outsider, even a voyeur. They play a couple, actress Sally Nash and novelist turned filmmaker Joe Therrian, who have recently put their marriage back together after a separation, and are celebrating their sixth wedding anniversary -- not usually a landmark occasion, but considering their marital difficulties can be considered an achievement. So they invite their friends, most of them colleagues and co-workers in the film industry, plus some newcomers, including the hot young actress Skye Davidson (Gwyneth Paltrow), whom Joe has cast in the movie he's making. This in itself is a source of tension, which some of the guests are not above pointing out, because Skye is playing a character from Joe's novel who is clearly based on Sally, and he didn't cast Sally herself, perhaps because she's too old to play the role. Also among the outsiders in the gathering are Joe and Sally's next-door neighbors, Ryan (Denis O'Hare) and Monica Rose (Mina Badie), whom they invited because they'd like to quell the tension that has arisen between the two households over the barking of Joe and Sally's dog. The volatility within the group gives rise to some snarky gossip and a few ruffled egos, but it remains mostly under control until Skye produces some ecstasy that releases everyone's inhibitions. Naturally, it climaxes with a big fight between Joe and Sally, in which the unstated tension is clearly and loudly stated. There's nothing particularly new about the film and the characters, but the ensemble work of the cast is fun to watch and Leigh and Cumming know when and how to end their movie on a quietly amusing note.

EDITOR: “Christmas Time is Coming” is a favorite song of mine that reminds me of another favorite, Advent season, the anticipation of the birth of Christ.  Many churches use an Advent wreath to light an Advent candle each of the 4 Sundays before Christmas to reflect and prepare our hearts for the coming of Christ.  The first candle is purple and represents  Hope of the Savior through the prophesies.  The second candle is purple and represents Peace that comes from trust in God’s promises.  The third candle is pink and represents Joy as we rejoice in the promised birth.  The fourth candle is purple and represents Love of our Father God in Heaven.  Finally, the 5th candle is white, located in the center of the wreath, and represents Christ, God with us, which is what Christmas is all about! Christmas is coming! Let our hearts be glad in the anticipation of the season.   LRMartin

ASHTON RECALLS:  by Ashton Hester
ESCAPED PRISONERS THOUGHT SIGHTED NEAR SALEM - (The following story was in the July 8, 1953 issue of the Keowee Courier). . .Residents of the Salem area experienced quite a flurry of tense excitement Thursday afternoon when two men answering the descriptions of two bandits who recently escaped from the Greenville county jail were spotted in the Boone's Creek section. . .They were spotted on the property of Garvin Littleton near the creek, first by Mr. Littleton's daughter. She returned home and told her family about the men, and Mr. Littleton recalled that he had read a story about two escaped prisoners in the newspaper. . .He walked down the path toward the creek, and he too saw the men standing on the bank. They also saw him, and when they did they fled into the woods. . .Mr. Littleton went to Salem and reported the sighting, and Rug Burgess accompanied him back to his home and they went to the creek, but no one was to be seen. . .Meanwhile, word of the sighting spread around Salem like wildfire, and Oconee lawmen were summoned. However, other than footprints along the bank, no other traces of the two men could be found, and it will probably never be determined if they were the escaped bandits or simply a pair of trespassing fishermen.
Jottings from Miz Jeannie  by Jeannie Barnwell                   Wreaths Across America- Patsy Earnhardt,  Debbie Kimbrell and I promote patriotism by decorating  23 veterans' graves at our Salem Methodist Church at Christmas.   The cemetery had been pretty much ignored. But when we had a purpose to study it, it became a fascinating history lesson!  One soldier died in combat in World War II. The remaining  22 veterans returned to Salem after serving in the military.  As well as peacetime service, these men participated in World Wars I and II, Korea,  and Vietnam.   And Oh! Yes! In our cemetery one lone Confederate soldier rests. Since he didn't have a plantation or slaves, we ordered a wreath for him, too.                                                                                                                          *Favorites:  Sony 107.9 radio. In Mark 9:23  Jesus said,  “All things are possible to him that believes.”    Please join me and pray for hearts to open, ears to hear, and eyes to see.  LRM
Health Corner: Dr. Mike Roizan, a physician from the Cleveland Clinic suggests the benefits of taking 1000u-2000u of Vitamin D3 daily as a supplement to boost the immune system. Proven studies show it helps the body with skin repair, absorb calcium, which helps protect from the bone thinning disease osteoporosis, aids muscle and nerve function, and helps protect from autoimmune diseases, such as psoriasis.  Discuss this with your physician.  Check out Longevity.com for other supplements to discuss with your physician.

Supreme Court Will Hear Latest Clash Between Faith and Gay Rights
Littleton, Colorado — Ten years ago, a Colorado baker named Jack Phillips asked him for a wedding cake, saying that state laws against discrimination based on sexual orientation had to yield to his faith. I turned down gay couples. The heated flashpoint of the culture wars, the controversy has gone to the Supreme Court. But Judge Anthony M. Kennedy’s narrow majority In 2018, the First Amendment to…

Azucena + Masaru | Arrowhead Golf Course Wedding Photos
Some weddings the tears don’t stop coming. They are those golden tears of joy. They started as soon as I got there, and I will tell you, it wasn’t just Mas and Azucena. I was already balling too. Mas and Azucena put so much intention into their wedding. I mean, really, they put so much intention to their relationship. The first thing Azucena told me when I arrived was the number of days they had been together. They had been counting it from the beginning because they knew. Somehow, they were “oddly perfect.” As they like to say.
I appreciate and love this sentiment. I do think, however, they are “perfectly perfect”. Everything about them makes me smile. I remember when I first met them and the way that Mas looked at Azucena, just when she was talking to me answering some question. He looked at her with intent, listening to everything she had to say and really internalizing it. It struck me. They are so good together because of this intent.
As I said, I could see it throughout their whole wedding day as well. From the gifts, they picked out for each other and the jewelry that Azucena wore to the blending of their families and cultures, and spectacular moments like the fireworks when they first kissed. Every detail was planned, thought through with meticulous detail and decided upon because they knew it would represent their relationship. It totally paid off. They had a wonderful day! With all the perfection that I see when I look at them and all the “oddly perfect” details like the sun shining while it dripped random raindrops. It could not have been a better day. Ryan and I were so very happy to be a part of it!
Congratulations Mas and Azucena! Here’s to years and years of “oddly perfect”!
–Katie

EDITOR: Happy Birthday to The Old Salem Post which began exactly 6 years ago today when I decided our town needed its own newspaper. The Town of Salem has supported every step of this endeavor.  Thank you to the Town of Salem, our readers, guest writers, and everyone who continues to encourage and enjoy this local paper. May you feel blessed and grateful this Thanksgiving. For, our blessings far out weigh our trials, as we will face trials. God’s promises can help us through the tough days. Yesterday I was thinking about the scriptures “ in all things give thanks…”  “ in prayer and supplication make your requests known...giving thanks…”  Now, who is grateful when they have to go through a trial?  I have silently said that to God.  But the answer returns, “ I am with you always…”  which is a sweet reminder to always nurture my relationship with Him, my Friend, Comforter, Strength, and Hope, no matter what the day brings. Give thanks in Everything! Lynne RMartin

School District of Oconee County:  The next public meeting is Monday, December 11 at 6pm. We need support to protest the closing of our Tamassee-Salem Elementary School.  Send each board member an email, found on the Oconee County School District website,  with valid reasons to protect our school, and our tax-payer dollars invested on Highway 11.  The 20 acres of land and building will return to the Tamassee DAR if they close T-S El.  How will that save tax payers money when the school board will need to purchase more land in the future at who knows the cost of future land.  T-S El is an asset now as well an investment for the future already  in our possession.  School Administration wants to give away this valuable asset. I believe without a doubt the scriptures of Mark 9:23  when Jesus said,  “All things are possible to him that believes.”  I am holding on to that promise!  Please join me and pray for hearts to open, ears to hear, and eyes to see.  We can save this school if everyone with help speak up, and send the message.   LRMartin
