I still feel like we’re being purposefully mislead. If Sansa and Arya were both presented as having become clever badasses but can’t even detect when Baelish is playing them--I will be profoundly disappointed. 

And when Petyr suggested using Brienne against Arya, Sansa then sent Brienne away. 

And Arya leaving her people-masks under her bed in a bag in plain sight and then giving the dagger to Sansa after Waif-threatening to cut her face. 

It all just felt weird. I don’t like it when they do this. It creates a feeling of “false drama” when what we want--is to see them actually communicate, show some of that intelligence and maturity that they gained in their years apart.

But its difficult to tell if Sansa and Arya are both circling Petyr because of the role that Sansa plays for Petyr and the role that Sansa is playing for Arya (it began after Arya’s nasty look when Sansa confirmed that Jon had left her in charge--Sansa immediately played into it because she’s learned very deeply that people around her think she’s stupid and when they were young, Arya was no exception. Which is actually....really sad when I think about it. Sansa doesn’t care that she’s considered pretty. People have been grinding her mistakes in her face since she left Winterfell). She tells Petyr she doesn’t trust him, she tells everyone else not to trust him---but then confides about how she doesn’t understand Arya anymore and mentions that Arya would kill if she thought Sansa was betraying Jon. By this point, she knows its dangerous to give him information like that, he gave her crippled brother a dagger. She ought to know better.  And what does she mean, “how did she get [the letter the Lannisters forced her to write]?” Sansa is fucking lady of Winterfell, she can go to their interim maester and start to look into it. 

It’s sad, a bit. because doing this to Sansa just seems unnecessary. 

Which is why I do kind of hope we’re being purposely misled instead of it just actually being that the two of them combined were still too slow and still too stupid to take on Baelish. 

It would also explain Arya’s behavior when she in particular should know better than to hold on to such grudges. (The whole “pretty” conversation.) It made her sound like a selfish little kid again. I thought it was pretty pathetic considering everything she’s been through.

But since she’s a wild card that Baelish wasn’t expecting, they could be working together (exaggerating Arya’s unknown-possible crazy bit, and really showcasing Sansa’s awesome acting skills) to force Littlefinger into some kind of trap (or to trick him into attempting to manipulate Arya). 

Which is what I hope is the case. Because I will be really really disappointed otherwise. Because that would kind of indicate that their role in the story is basically over, if they can’t even outplay Littlefinger. If they have to wait for Jon to get home so that he can sort it out...I will be disappointed. 

 Also, Night King is a fucking Olympian, am I right? Do you think that Jon will be able to connect/take control of Viserion because he came back from the dead like Dany did. But his was in ice and hers was in fire.

So I think it's kinda obvious that Soren is pretty much just like Jaime Lannister, but do you think there are other character comparisons with GOT?

Ooh, this sounds like fun! Let me see what I can come up with. I’m also down for suggestions as well!

For Soren’s family, we have:

Claudia, who seems to be a combination of Melisandre and a benign Cersei. Like Melisandre, Claudia can of course do magic. Melisandre can perform shadowbinder magic, which involves controlling and manipulating shadows, not unlike Claudia’s “smokey seekers.” She also performs blood magic and even resurrection, again much like Claudia’s dark magic. And while Claudia is nowhere near as evil as Cersei, Claudia does have the whole “making honest feelings do dishonest work” shtick down pat. 

Viren seems to have parts of Tywin and Tyrion’s character traits. Just like Tywin, he has a hard time as seeing his children as more than pawns. His “attack first” reaction to threats to his kingdom seems to be an attitude he shares with Tywin. As with Tyrion, Viren can be quite cunning, coming up with creative solutions to otherwise intractable problems.

With the main trio, we have:

Rayla is superficially much like Daenerys Targaryen (both have purple eyes and silver hair) but is much more like an inverse Arya Stark. Arya’s journey to becoming an assassin juxtaposes against Rayla’s realization that this isn’t who she wants to be. However, they ultimately wind up in a similar place--using their skills to defend those they care about.

Ezran is much like Bran Stark and Robb Stark. Like Bran, he has a magical connection with animals (Ez’s telepathic link is not that different from warging). And like Robb, he rises to become king well before his time due to his father’s death, and struggles with the burden of both rulership and doing right by his people.

Callum is Jon Snow, through and through. Both are stepchildren looked down upon due to their apparent lack of legitimacy, and whose true parentage remains a mystery (at least to the audience). In spite of them not being a “true” prince, both are honorable, brave, and noble people. Both look up to their stepfather, who they try to emulate as best they can. Both represent the balancing influence between the extremities of either side, and whose future seems certainly linked to defeating a great, returning evil.

As with everyone else, we have:

Harrow as Ned Stark. Loving and honorable father, whose honor ultimately gets him killed and whose example his children attempt to emulate even after his death. Heck Harrow even actually says “winter is coming”!

Runaan as Rhaegar Targaryen. Silver-haired and a talented warrior, but who has a poetic heart (Runaan likes to read, while Rhaegar likes to sing).

Sarai as Lyanna Stark. Talented warrior (she allegedly wins a jousting tournament), and a fearless and fierce person who everyone appears to remember fondly. Her last words to Ned/Harrow haunt both characters to the present day (”Promise me, Ned” for Ned Stark, “I’ll see you on the other side” for Harrow).

Amaya as Brienne of Tarth. Another warrior, who notably stays true to her principles and her honor. Both show true courage and steadfast loyalty to the family and people they swore to protect.

Aaravos is what the Night King would look like if he had Littlerfinger’s tactics at manipulation. And, depending on where the story goes from here, he could very well become someone like Euron Greyjoy, who seeks magical power to usher in the end of the world...

And though no one asked for this, and I am speculating hard here, but Viren’s staff, or perhaps Dark Magic in general, seems to be this world’s equivalent of what the Iron Throne represents, which itself was very much like the One Ring from LOTR. Viren’s staff, and Dark Magic generally, represent absolute, unchecked power, and the corrupting influence it has those who attempt to use it.

I’ve decided to start doing a fic rec of a fic that i really enjoyed and couldn’t stop reading during the week. Without further ado:

Jon and Sansa has been dating in secret for the last two years. Chaos ensues once they’re caught kissing in one of Theon’s vlogs.

basically as it says above. sansa is a makeup artist on youtube, the rest of the stark family have vlogs as well, and sansa has been dating jon without her fans’ knowledge. once they find out, they want to know everything (and so do i tbh). 

currently a wip, but i think it will be finished very soon as the author updates very regularly. this fic is mostly pictures, but trust me, it still has quite a strong story that is very compelling. i tossed up between this fic and another for my rec, but honestly this fic consistently puts a smile on my face every time it updates which is why i chose it.  

it has fluff, it has backstory, it has joffrey hate which we all love, and, honestly, it gives just enough detail to satisfy our needs, but it also holds enough detail back to make you feel both like a) you’re one of the fans of the stark’s vlogs and b) like you need another chapter IMMEDIATELY. 

honestly, if you have a spare 15 minutes, please read this. it’ll make you feel all warm and giggly, and we all need a bit of that these days.

in the vale, littlerfinger hears of jon’s ascension to king, and takes advantage of the upset his parentage reveal caused by convincing the northern lords to secretly support sansa’s claim instead. littlefinger brings sansa to jon, but instead of going ahead with the plan, sansa’s emotions get the best of her and she kneels to jon instead of plotting to take his crown; she then has to deal with the consequences of choosing jon over littlefinger, when littlefinger continues to plot against jon, and there is quite some mystery surrounding jon himself. featuring dark!jon, and ~kind of~ dark sansa (fic is currently on chapter 9, so it might get darker than it is).

this is also currently a wip, and while it’s probably a fair ways from being finished it’s updated regularly. 

this is bookverse, but i’ve never read the books and have no problems keeping up with the differences. it was originally supposed to be only a oneshot, but it’s morphed into something that i think is going to be fantastic. the writing is superb, the story is compelling, and there’s just enough mystery to keep you wanting more. 

if you end up enjoying this (or even if it doesn’t sound exactly like your thing) then i would highly recommending reading the other works by this author!

i got inspired by that anon so I must ask!! by character traits/personality which characters (1 from each gender I guess) would bts get along with the most in GOT??? (or fe who'd love say arya's determined yet fiery personality, margaery's cunning spirit, daenerys's resilience or jon snow's selflessness? littlerfinger's or varys's sharpness or tyrion's mental prowess?) iyo :D this is just for funsies~

me, staring at the ceiling after i did extensive research on the GoT characters trying to find any clues, only to be bombared with new information about their customs and traditions, admiring them now for denying assimilation into our reality and being strictly fantastical and ultimately-- surpasses our own societal norms.

If I have one thing worthy of note it would be Arya and Joon getting along. But that’s honestly fantasy on my part and it is my one gold coin into essos please have it.

SANSA STARK WAS NEVER LOVED

People seems to forget that Sansa was never trully loved during the entire run of Game of Thrones, in fact the girl who left Winterfell dreaming about songs of Love and Knights has never had love in her storylines. Which goes into constract with D@nerys , who not only was loved by her husband Drogo has been the love interest of every single man who crosses her way.

I do believe that Jon and Sansa became quite close to each other during the period they spent getting the North togheter and rebuilding Winterfell after defeating the Boltons. Sansa represents everything that Jon Snow ever dreamed of.

I believe that, once Jon real parentage is revealed, D@nerys and Tyrion will offer an alliance in marriage to Jon, so that they both get married, take back the Iron Throne and rule togheter the 7 Kingdoms. What happens if Jon actually rejects the offer to be with Sansa in Winterfell. Sansa represent home, family, a quite life in the North. Having Jon choosing Sansa would be a huge contrast with D@nerys; Sansa was never loved during the whole series, have you notice this? she is the opposite of Daenerys, she had one creep after the other. Jofrey and Loras never loved her, Tyrion married because his father ordered him, Ramsey was a monster and Littlerfinger was a creep that wanted to use her name, imagine for Sansa to finally have a good man that actually loves her. BTW Sansa used to use a Dragonfly necklace in the first seasons and have dragonflies details in her clothes, in A song of Ice and Fire, the Prince of Dragonfly was Prince Duncan, he was the Prince of Dragostone and the heir to the Throne; he was betrothed to a daughter of Lyonel Baratheon of Storm's End by his father King Aegon V, but later became in love with a commoner called Jane Oldstone. He gave up his claim to the Throne so that he could marry the love of his life. Thats why he was latter called the Prince of Drangonfly. The songs about their roamance were Sansa favorite ones when she was younger. Now isnt that interesting?

Jon & Dany are so forced. So contrived. Yeah I get that SOME people in the GoT fandom been waiting & assuming that they would get together BEFORE the R+L=J theory was proved but the actual couple is very lacking. Jon & Dany are barely compatible. There are things that Dany would do or lines that she would cross that Jon would never. Dany is also so extra this season. She won't lock away some people for a few months but she has no problem burning themalive... (sure Jan...). My other serious problem with Jonerys is all the JONSA build up that’s happen in the previous season. 1st let me point out to people who may have forgotten (or didn't know) but unlike the other Stark children Jon & Sansa didn't share a sibling bond. Sansa was young & naïve caught up in the songs about princes & was ashamed of Jon be he was (thought to be) a bastard. Some people should really rewatch 6x04 when she apologized to him. From that point onward the JonSa bond grew. Though some of their scenes were off screen (so some stupid reason) Jon & Sansa grew very close & revealed their scarred past with each other. Sansa knows that Jon was killed by his men & resurrected & Jon knows about what Ramsey did to her. Now on to their actual on-screen scenes. In most of them of them it's clear that under the surface JonSa don’t have a normal sibling vibe. They have (believable) romanticchemistry & it can be argued that they never acted on it because they believe its taboo because they're brother & sister. But we the audience know they are actually cousins. That changes everything. Look over several of their scenes (reunion hug, where will we go/forgive me talk, Ramsey's letter/hand grab, wolf bit/new cloak, argument before BotB, we have to trust each other/forehead then look at mouth kiss/Winter is here, King in the North/sit next to each other looking like a ruling couple, you're nothing like Joffery/keep your head) they speak volumes. Kit & Sophie have amazing & real chemistry. JonSa has all the potential (way more than Jonerys) & make more sense in storyline. When R+L=J is finally revealed everything will change. Jon rule over the North can & will probably be threatened. BUT if he marries Sansa it can be strengthened. It would also secure the Stark bloodline & name. Bran can have kids (I assume) & if Sansa or Arya marry they'll take their husbands last name & then the Stark name dies. On the other hand if Jon marries Sansa he can take the Stark name. Then their children could even be Dany's heirs since she mentioned in previous seasons that she'll never bear another man's child after Drogo. All problems fix. I'll also point of that Jon continues to be triggered when it comes to Sansa. Ramsey, Littlerfinger, Theon & he even gave Tyrion a quick dark look. GoT writers were clearly building Jon & Sansa up to be a romantic pairing but suddenly dropped it which is so damn annoying. I bet this is the reason for the lack on JonSa scenes this season.. I'm still holding on to hope for S8. Let's see how Jon feels about sleeping with his aunt. 💀💀💀

He’s making a distinction between personal qualities/attributes and the benefits of belonging to a House. I.E, Cersei’s wealth and prestige aren’t qualities she has because of anything she did personally, instead she has them due to a pure accident of birth.

Okay....hear me out.....

What if....what if Sansa had a conversation with Lady Mormont, after Littlerfinger confronts her in the godswood about who the north should rally behind, and convinces her to name Jon as KitN when the lords gather.

We know Littlefinger wanted to marry her for the title of WotN so he could move against the crown with the support of the North and the Vale.

With one fierce speech, lady Mormont killed those plans. Jon is named King, and Sansa smiles up at him. Littlefinger, standing in the back, begins to plot again. And only Sansa sees it. Then she stops smiling and starts thinking of countermoves .

In season 6, Lyanna and Jon only interacted once. We know she takes ruling/governing Bear Island and the North very seriously and she essentially told Stanis to fuck off when he came for wrote her. What does she really know about Jon? His battle plans had failed, and it was really Davos that convinced her to join their side. So why in that moment, did she decide to name Jon king?

I think the writers wanted the audience to take the fact that she is named after Jon’s mother and create this connection between them, our imaginations filling in the very larges gaps. But what is actually shown doesn’t provide any evidence or indication that at some point Jon has either gotten closer to lady Mormont or has earned her approval. And Jon was still a bastard. I think she was convince by someone else to overlook certain things, and do what was required to unite the north. That someone is Sansa.
