Since their original record label closed in 2017, causing the duo to lose their deal, Maddie & Tae have come back twofold. Four years later, the ladies are ready to make an even bigger splash. “We are hoping to release our sophomore record,” Tae told One Country in 2018.”It’s been finished since February so it’s basically our baby’s just sitting there waiting to be out in the world. We’re trying to let ‘Friends Don’t,’ our single, have it’s moment and just figure out perfect timing for the sophomore record cause we worked so hard on it, we want the release and everything to be perfect."
