Specklefur, a seasoned warrior, is respected amongst her peers for her loyalty to her clan. Now she’s able to spend most of her days sleeping in the sun, entrusting the younger warriors with clan duties

Does anyone remember a post about a little old lady who accidentally summons a demon making something for her grandson because of occult symbols and she mistakes the demon for her grandson because he never visits and they remain friends anyways even after she passed??? I love that post so much

Sleepy Honey, age 16
Man I love this little old lady, it's so sad watching her grow old and it was tough losing her sister Treacle earlier this year but I am glad that I've been able to give the two of them long lives full of love and comfort. Just need to focus on enjoying what time I have left with Honey ❤️

Some scary health stuff happened with my grandma this past week. At this point, we think it was transient and related to a fall at home, but the profound behavioral and cognitive changes were scary to see. And they weren’t consistent. Whether it was true delirium is hard to say. Maybe sundowning. I’m just hoping beyond belief that since she only had one disruptive night she can stay in her apartment in assisted living. I think she might actually give up the will to live is she had to move into skilled nursing. And that’s the last thing that I want. She’s almost 95 but this was the first time I ever saw her “break” in front of me in any way. I know that humans aren’t immortal, and she looks more frail each time I see her, but moving her into a SNF would make me face her mortality in a way that I really want to avoid.
Oh, and she still talks about “all the old people” who live in assisted living with her. (Not the other old people, just the old people, because she’s apparently not old) And while there are a few folks older than her, she’s not exactly the baby by a long shot.

My creacher also loves the slurry drink (Purina hydration pack)
HOWEVER she gets the soft 🍦 💩 if we give it to her every time she asks so we wait as long as she will allow to give it to her.
My creachure (Tribble) is 20 1/2 years old and I will do what I can to make her happy BARRING having smeary 💩 on the wood floors and and and.
(including letting her lick our plates, give her roast chicken, and give her cereal 🥣 milk)

So one of the things that can apparently contribute to kidney issues in cats is if they eat too much dry food and don't drink enough water; cats are adapted to get a lot of their water from their food since they're originally desert animals, and might not get enough water if they don't eat wet food. Unfortunately, Dozy won't eat wet food no matter what; she categorically refuses to touch the stuff. So a few months ago, we were looking for ways to get Dozy more fluids, and my wife noticed at the pet store a cat drink--basically meat broth with some floaty bits in--that was low-protein and meant for cats with kidney issues. So we figured, worth a try, right?
Great news: she loved it. Super tasty apparently. Great success. Along with the kidney-sensitive treats we found, it was a nice way to supplement her diet. Unforseen long-term consequence though: she loved it so much she began demanding it throughout the day. Like, would come up to us and meow, and meow, and meow, and not stop, until we got up, went to the kitchen, and got her some cat drink.
And by doing so on demand, we have unfortunately created a monster: no matter what we are doing at home, Dozy knows that if she sits next to you and meows, 1) you know what she wants, and 2) you know that she will not stop until you get it for her now. And when you do get it, she gets extremely excited. She will bum rush the kitchen door as you enter. She will run around your feet as you open the can. She will let out the creakiest, crunchiest, most nails-on-the-chalkboard meow you've ever heard if she thinks you're not going fast enough.
I do not begrudge her this. It is gratifying to care for a creature whose most ardent desires are so simple that it is this easy to fulfill them. But I am a little sad, because I know in my heart that I have never loved any comestible as much as she loves this cat drink. She has a pleasure of a purity and intensity that I will never know.

She is so Little Old Lady coded. I've kind of toned down her hair to reflect that fact. I'd like to think that in the Endwalker and post-Endwalker timeline, she's juuuust starting to go grey. She's slowing down a little and she feels it. I mean, she's only 27-28 in ARR; still older than your average JRPG protagonist, but by no means a crone. That being said, I don't subscribe to the whole "it's only been 18 months!" philosophy in terms of the MSQ. It has to have been at least five years, so in my head, she's in her mid-30s to early 40s at this point.

this is so stupid but here’s a little comic i made for a little bingo au me and @twisted-tales-told came up with a few weeks ago. pretty much just the idea that jason needed a cover at some point and stumbled in on bingo night and was quickly adopted by the little old ladies there. now he plays every friday and has beef with dora and gets sent home with banana bread :) clara is trying to set him up with her grandson and all of her problems with her land lord have mysteriously been solved :))
being involved in his community is very important to jason and he loves seeing them host community events bc it feels like his home is healing
bonus: none of the bats have the faintest idea what Jason does in his spare time aside from babs and dick is so butthurt he wasn’t invited (not pictured: nightwing outside the bingo hall window looking in look a kicked puppy while jason flips him off)
(this is my first comic pls be nice it’s just a sketch)

why aren't there more mysteries that take place in nursing homes & retirement communities. i want to watch a group of deranged retirees-cum-amateur-detectives combine their powers of:
decades of life experience
boredom-fueled busybody shamelessness
access to the most gossipy next-door-neighbors in existence
"I am too old to be arrested and/or give a shit" attitude
and solve crimes. this should be an enormous subgenre.
