I think that when Jack is recruited by Brad he has a lot of conflicting emotions about meeting other people and how they treat him... Like if they were to treat him like a kid and pat his head and try to play with him, he would be glad about the kind reception because he's had to raise himself in a violent wasteland and he never really got to be a kid, but he would also feel patronized and disrespected about not being taken seriously as an equal.

That being said I think that he is always very outwardly polite and kind, like even if hes mad or even pissed the most that would happen is that he would be snappy or grumpy. This is mostly due to his temperment, but also people rarely take him seriously even if he is respectful, so him getting angry and yelling would destroy any credibility or respect anyone has for him. He is very careful to not step on any toes and never be resentful, but this causes him to feel more and more bitter about his place in the world and how he feels like he's being excluded from everyone else's experience

I think that as he gets older and more connected to a community he would have a better grip on his emotions but for now he doesnt know how to feel and its a lot for him
