I know I’ve said before that ShikiAzu is a favorite rare pair but after playing the game, Shiki barely even interacts with Azuna and I’m just wondering where the ship came from lolol

Meanwhile, Lindo and Azuna are like parents to Ritsuka in the right door and NO ONE FUCKING SHIPS THEM??? like Azuna is totes a reliable girlfriend for Lindo, heck she acts like she’s his girlfriend in Shiki’s route, fetching his necessities to the exorcist society where he’s recovering from his injuries .

Don’t give me that BullShit that Lindo only has eyes for Ritsuka because he’s loyal to her and only her like look here pal, Lindo’s feelings for Ritsuka doesn’t have to be fucking romantic in the other routes ,OK? His love for her not being romantic doesn’t in anyway denounce how much he cares for her. They grew up as siblings and it’s not impossible if Lindo loves her deeply as a little sister. Stop acting like older brothers are horrible beings that don’t love their sisters and if they do, they must be romantically invested in them like fuck you if you think that way.

I admit that I’m not the biggest fan of the LindRitsu ship but that’s because I don’t see the point of their relationship being romantic just because Lindo is her cousin, moreover, a direct cousin, that still means it’s incest as much as you would like to deny it . Like does Lindo’s feelings not being romantic makes his sacrifices for Ritsuka less selfless? No, in fact, I think it makes Lindo a much more stronger character rather than your typical siscon.

On the other hand, the reason I think Azuna works as a better love interest for Lindo is because she's able to support his goals, that is to keep his family safe, particularly Ritsuka. Not only that, but she also acts as a voice of reason for Lindo when he's going overboard when protecting Ritsuka and reminding him that it's OK to let go. Being an exorcist, it's likely that Azuna is the closest to him in the exorcist Society since they are assigned to protect Ritsuka. Any exorcist troubles that he faces is possibly the most consultable when it comes to Azuna.

It's pretty disappointing that the franchise doesn't develop their relationship on a deeper level just because Lindo has to be romantically in love with Ritsuka, which I think was what underminded his character's potential. Seeing fans condoning such a romantic relationship is rather baffling to me cause as long as a brother and sister are the least bit 'unrelated'to each other, any sort of affectionate interactions between them must be romantic.

I'll end this rant here today and save my full thoughts on the siscon trope when I get to Lindo's review.

I’m currently rewatching Dance with Devils to help with an amv project that I’m doing. And for Christ sake, Azuna is like mvp and she’s my absolute favourite character! No questions.

Screw the other guys and Ritsuka!

Azuna Kuzuha is the my favourite character and she needs her own Netflix spinoff series!

When Ritsuka comes back from the student council, all the other girls are giving her shit (as reverse harems do) and freaking Azuna is like checking up on her to make sure she’s fine

When Ritsuka goes missing, she immediately goes to Rem and doesn’t fear him, trying to get info from him

Wandering around to find Ritsuka and then accompanying Ritsuka to Shiki’s fucking weird-ass trippy art museum (despite her telling Ritsuka that they should leave shiki alone)

WHEN AZUNA FUCKING KUZUHA DEFENDS RITSUKA FROM SHIKI! Like damn! Azuna is willing to die for Ritsuka! She may have lost that battle (and then Ritsuka tries to push shiki off her and then for some reason he just kinda fucks off)

Literally telling Ritsuka to stay in her sight as she goes check out the stuff buy and then Ritsuka dissapears

Holding off the devils for as long as she can until Lindo arrives and keeps her composure as much as she can

Then once again yeeting holy water at the guys and not being afraid of them

And protecting Ritsuka until the very end

Azuna Kuzuha is a character I really like and I wish they could’ve expanded more on her. Tbh if there was a second season or rejet made a second game, uh...I want like an Azuna route.

Also I shipped Azuna with Lindo because they homies and I’m not really a fan of incest in anything, sorry to any Ritsuka x Lindo shippers!

Thoughts about Dance with Devils:

(This is just me typing down stuff so things may not be coherent)

Dance with Devils is an okay reverse harem in my book. Problem is that the first half is a slog to get through and I almost dropped the series 3 episodes in. The saving grace that made me continue watching it was Lindo. Bless red haired anime guys.

The reverse harem is questionable at times... There's not much romance as I expected. Really, the competition was just Rem or Lindo so it's more of a love triangle. The others are just kind of there...

I didn't expect this anime to have songs in it and that surprised me! I actually liked it. out of all the solo songs, I personally loved Shiki's one. Then final episode's song was really cool but I didn't like the ending.

Lindo x Ritsuka is the way to go.

I'm not here for the whole incest is wincest thing. I'm here supporting this ship because of the bond these two have shared together and how they helped each other. He's been there for her since the beginning. Nice guys finish last huh ;~;

Shiki, Mage, Urie, and Roen pretty much sucked as love interests because they were too focused on the grimoire part during their episodes. Especially Roen. Can't believe I trusted that dog. Do they even love her? I mean they say they do but as the saying goes "actions speak louder than words". We didn't get enough scenes to say that they definitively love Ritsuka.

Then there is Rem. He seemed too detached for my liking and the scenes with him and Ritsuka were too far and few in between that it felt like the romance was forced. She fell for him because he saved her? Because he got out of a burning building and she thought he was dead? Because they danced together? Sorry, if this is the foundation of the ship, I can't support it.

I don't really care if you ship it. It's just not my cup of tea. If it appeals to you, then go.

I also had a fight with my sister when we talked about Ritsuka's hair. I said it was a faded red and she was defending that it was brown. We didn't really compromise.

I'm sad that Azuna died. What is up with that though? Long blonde haired girls with green eyes always end up being...

What music they like

I love listening to music and I love making guesses about what music the DwD gang is into. This is me sharing my headcanons about what they like, whilst exploring new genres myself! I will also include links to the playlists I listened to while making this post.

Rem

Think Classical music, Cinematic, Instrumental, but also think Atmospheric, Lo-Fi, ASMR, really just something to keep the space not-silent. Sometimes silence can weigh too heavy on Rem, especially when he doesn’t have much to occupy his head with. He likes to play music while he works, so as to not let his mind wander too much and set a rhythm for whatever he’s doing. I don’t see him listening to music at any other time, to be honest. x. x. x. x. x. x.

Urie

Super into EDM, Trance, anything loud and with a bass that hits you hard,  that you can dance to until your limbs fall off your body. He likes losing himself to the music when he’s out clubbing (which he is often). Other than that I think he likes pop artists like Ariana Grande and Katy Perry during her Teenage Dream days. x. x. x. x.

Mage

Indie and Hip-hop all the way. Mage likes to blast just about anything in his car, but those are the genres he just can’t do without on a roadtrip. He also loves making mixtapes with songs he thinks the rest of the gang will like. Some of his picks really hit home, though no one except Ritsuka admits it. x. x. x. x.

Shiki

He’ll play meme songs to piss others off, though he genuinely likes some of them. But that aside, he loves Alternative music (think TOP, grandson, MISSIO, Royal Blood, Nothing But Thieves), because they put him in the great mood to sulk and/or rage around. His fave music channel would be MTV Rocks. x. x. x.

Lindo

This guy will like anything—anything—that comes on the radio, and changes his ringtone to his new favourite song at least 5 times a week. He only likes the clean versions though, and mostly listens to them at home so no one gets offended by the F-words. Especially Ritsuka. He can’t have her listening to songs full of curse words, no, no.. x. 

Roen

One word. Jazz. It relaxes him and eases him into the swagger we all know and love him for. It also helps him fall asleep faster in pom form. He particularly likes the songs they play in coffeeshops, especially in the morning. It sets a positive vibe for the rest of the day in his opinion. x. x.

Azuna

Azuna loves the sound of female voices. She loves how some songs seem to fill the air and make your heart swell with the strength of them. She also enjoys listening to roots and Americana. They make her feel dramatic and powerful and well, she likes feeling dramatic and powerful. x. x. x. x.

Ritsuka

She might not look it, but this girl wakes up with the loudest, angriest anthems she can find. It just... resonates with her, somehow. Sometimes Lindo will pass by her room and thank God she’s sensible because otherwise she might blow off the roof with the stuff she’s playing. Deathcore just isn’t for everyone. x. x. x.

Shiki x Ritsuka - 😁😁 ( Can’t say I don’t ship bruh, they’re too good in the manga and out of all the boys, Shiki changes the most drastically because of Ritsuka. At least, in his human route =v= )

Roen x Ritsuka - 😄😄 ( Honestly, if the game were to come out before the anime, they’d most likely be the canon couple )

Marius x Ritsuka - 😐 ( I’m rather neutral towards this ship and would prefer if the series took his character to a different level and give the series an actual terrifying and unpredictable villain instead of him being ‘just another love interest’, just my opinion though)
