An abandoned 19th century lime kiln is near Lindisfarne Castle on Lindisfarne Island off northeast England. Horses once pulled wagon loads of limestone from sea caves on the north side of the island.

In 1901 16th century Lindisfarne Castle on Lindisfarne Island off northeast England was refurbished by a publishing magnate and later visited by many famous personalities including royalty. In recent years the castle has been used as a filming location.
