Lily can't help but stare at Sirius with a look saying he should have known better. After doing something reckless, he had ended up hurting himself, prompting her to start putting her Healing skills to work. Dealing with the Marauder's and all the shennigans they got up to, she would get all her experience as a Healer in no time before they even graduated.
With the flick of her wand, using the Bandaging Charm, Lily conjured bandage wraps to help support his leg while she helped him make his way to the Infirmary to see Madam Pomfrey. "Of course it hurts, Sirius. You broke some bones. You really should have known better than to mess around on a broom like that-- especially from that height! It's a good thing I was around." She pauses, expression softening. "What exactly were you trying to do anyway?"

Here she was, putting everything on the line to help him, even being sympathic with him enough to offer helping him with his injury herself instead of taking him to the Hospital Wing (as he requested) and yet...he was acting like a complete brat towards her. And despite how much it annoyed her, Lily continue on, helping him make his way up towards the entrance for the Gryffindor Common Room. She wasn't the kind of person to leave him to suffer alone, but yet, she also wasn't going to let him treat her like that. "When it involves my friends...then yes. And while I might not see eye to eye with you, Potter, or Pettigrew, I do consider Lupin to be one of my friends."
Having made it to the Fat Lady portrait, Lily gave the password and they entered into the common room. She was surprised to find it empty, not even Potter was anywhere in sight. Instead, Lily helped Sirius onto one of the couches, laying him down gently despite her anger. At least he would be safe...and one of his friends were bound to find him here. "Knowing how you boys usually work with sneaking out and all, I'm thinking this would be the best place to leave you for now. I'll run to my dorm real quick to grab some Skele-Gro. Just try to stay out of trouble before I return."

"Je suis calme!" he said much louder than he intended to, "Je suis très calme!" It wasn't unlike him to switch into French depending on how drunk he was. It was the second language of his side of the family -- one they would slip into whenever they were discussing things they didn't want others to know. Toujour Pur was their family motto, after all. With his free hand, he searches his pocket, tugging out a cigarette and putting it in the corner of his mouth and he snorts. "Yeah, fine. Whatever gets you to not take me to the hospital wing," he mumbles with the cigarette dangling from the corner of his lips, and lighting it with a snap of his fingers in front of it then taking a long drag from it and blowing the smoke away from Lily. Maybe he should have asked, but he didn't ask for her help in the first place. Payback. Maybe.
His eyebrows raised at the mention of Remus, and he felt like he was taking a punch to the gut at even the mention of him -- thankful for the cigarette in his hand to keep himself from spiralling too bad. He was already spiralling, but he didn't need anymore of the guilt to eat him alive. "If it had to do with Moony, why d'you think I should be the one to tell you?" He'd already spilled the secret to Snape -- and even if the bastard deserved it, he still wouldn't dare do anything like that again. He'd just gotten his friends back -- barely. "Have you always enjoyed sticking your nose in other people's business, Evans?"

"Okay. Okay. Just calm down." She replied, seeing how frightened and worried he looked and feeling sympathetic for him. Whatever was going on and his reasons for not wanting to go to see Madam Pomfrey, Lily would just have to make the potion herself and watch over him. Normally she would push this, but decided to let it slide-- just this time. "I'll take you back to the common room. Just please, don't yell or scream. And you better listen to whatever I tell you to do, Black. That means if I tell you to stay put in the boys dorms and drink your potion---do it, or I'm telling!"
Hopefully he would understand. Lily never meant him any trouble or grief, even if he could be a bit of a bully and tended to rile up Potter into picking on Severus. She only wanted to make sure Sirius would be okay and that she was living up to her potential of being a future healer. Adjusting her arm around him, she sighed. He was a bit difficult to hang onto, but they were at least closer to the common room than they had been to the Hospital Wing. "Whatever it is you can't tell me, does it have anything to do with Lupin? He hasn't told me anything, but I can tell something has been bothering him lately. Is he okay? Did something happen?"

"If you take me there, I'll scream and yell. Very loudly. Right in your ear, Evans. Don't take me there." Since running away & the biggest mistake of his life, he'd been trying so hard to make amends with the rest of his friends -- he couldn't miss the full moon. He'd promised to be there -- and he had to be there. He couldn't let another stupid fuckup ruin the only thing that was really keeping him together. "You're really makin' me want t'go to the infirmary. You can probably make the potion yourself. You've always been good at potions."
Sirius lets out a loud groan, reaching up to rub at his face and shake his head. "I can't tell you, Evans. M'not allowed to." Especially not after revealing it to Snape. He couldn't go confessing it to Lily -- it wasn't his place to tell. He was already on thin ice -- and everyone had noticed it. Noticed how he was quieter than normal -- how Moony seemed to practically avoid him whenever he could. He had to be on his best behavior -- and he was trying. "I'll be fine," no , he wouldn't, but he knew plenty of ways to heal broken bones that...maybe weren't the best ways to fix them, but it worked out fine before, "Just take me to the common room."

She couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at his words. He didn't want her to take him back to the Infirmary to get better? Either Sirius had hit his head in the process too or he was just drunk and completely out of his right mind. Lily didn't know what to think, but it went against ever instinct in her as a future Healer and a person, to leave him in such a state. She sighed softly. "I can't do that. If you've got broken bones--and I'm pretty sure you have-- you're going to need Skele-Gro to mend those broken bones and regrow them. It's not an easy process. It's going to be slow and painful and not to mention the potion itself tastes awful."
With that, Lily couldn't help but feel sorry for him. Although she already did with the fact he had hurt himself. However, there was something in her gut telling her there was more to all this. It was already common fact of how reckless Sirius could be, but why did he seemed almost afraid to go to the Infirmary, and then again, why was he trying to fly around on a broom to begin with? "If you don't want me to take you to Madam Pomfrey, you better give me a good reason as to why. If your plans involve getting yourself into even more danger, you can forget about it."
Tumblr media
Sirius is known for his recklessness -- especially after he's been dared to, drunk, or both. It's why he's been found fooling around on a broom and plummeting to the ground when the thing that people warned him were impossible...were indeed impossible. He hisses loudly as Lily patches him up, grey eyes narrowing slightly and wrapping an arm around her shoulders as they slowly made their way back to the castle.
"At least I looked cool," he mutters to himself, reaching up to run his fingers through his curls as they limp along the path back to the castle, " 've had worse, Evans. Trust me." His parents made sure of that -- to the point of almost killing him. They would have, if they ever got the chance. Especially now since he's run away and lives with the blood traitors they warned him about when he started at Hogwarts. The memory of leaving pains him, remembering what Regulus said, and even more so -- the pain of leaving little brother behind to deal with their parents on his own. He can't even look at him when they pass each other in the hallways. "Just don't take me to Pomfrey," he slurs, his face wrinkling slightly at the thought, "'ve got stuff this weekend and she'll keep me."
