PERSONALITY

Maver doesn’t say much. She prefers not to do much, as a matter of fact. She’s a meek little girl, to say the least. She would like to dance however she likes and walk however she likes, but it’s wrong. Anyone she knows thinks so, so she feels she shouldn’t do it.

When she is at peace, though, she is a little more open to talking. It takes her time to trust that people won’t think her odd, but once she does find a friend, she tries her best to stay friends. She is loyal and compassionate, albeit a bit naive at times.

BIOGRAPHY (trigger warning: ableism, and ensuing mild emotional abuse)

Since Maver could remember, she’s been around performers. Singers, actors, dancers, all of her family seem to perform. She was excited when her parents gave her her first songbook when she was three.

However, this excitement would soon be short-lived, as they began to make her feel uncomfortable. They, as well as her own teachers, seemed a little too excited about her learning the piano, to her. Making her continue to practice when she was ready to stop, teaching her in ways she couldn’t understand, not letting her flap to the music around her, dolling her up in excruciating dresses for the concerts proper, teaching her they were contests...soon, she came to hate playing the piano.

Ever since she’s quit playing, Maver hasn’t felt right. Her parents want her to try other things having to do with getting out on stage, maybe even a bit too eagerly. It would all be the same to her, anyway. The dresses, the pressure, on top of how she’s taught to behave ‘properly’ at home, it can’t be just with the piano. She’s just waiting for something else, now.
