Okay so I have no clue how intentional this was but it certainly feels intentional to have Crystal be a black girl, to have little Becky (the kidnapped girl) be a black girl and to have Lilith exact her vengeance on Esther (white settler colonial Esther) in the form of a black woman

#nina has thoughts #dead boy detectives #crystal palace surname von hoverkraft #look I’m whote but there had to be some cartharsis intended #in having crystal screaam and DEMAND justice for all the girls Esther has killed #Lilith does appear in the cat kings story in more of a Native American look #(At least didn’t read to me as black)#so I would theorize she’s not a specific race kinda like the endless #not saying that this whole story was meant to be about race or imperialism #(they barely touch Edwin’s whole upper class thing)
