My main problem with lying for politeness sake is that it usually comes back to bite them no more than 6 hours later. Like, if it doesn't change the end result why lie? You clearly weren't fine with smth when you said you were, and I'll respect the change ofc, but now I'm just mad you lied 😭

Nothing changes from if you had just told me "yeah no sorry, I really need ____ instead" except for the fact that now I'm just annoyed

#Obv this isn't in a typical consent context #I'd never get mad at someone changing their mind in that way #I get mad when it comes to stuff like sleeping arrangements #“oh I'm fine with y'all talking I'll sleep through it!”#Then come night time they don't sleep through it and get mad at me #Like you should've just said “no I'm a light sleeper and need my beauty rest”!#That's so much easier and no hurt feelings across the board
