The thing about being a Sonic fan is that you will routinely see posts about how X Sonic game is better in the original japanese and the english version ruined it

And then the game in question was originally done in English and JP was the localization

#Like don't get me wrong I'm also familiar with games/media from japan being originally put out in japan #but Sonic is a special case #a lot of games originally released in Japanese but a lot of them (especially nowadays) also are made and release in English first #Like you can't really become a true 'jp only because it's the original text' guy because it isn't. it isn't always the original text #Of course this is not to say that it's not neat to compare the versions to see what changed‚ or to prefer one over the other #''X Sonic game retranslated'' cool cool anyways answer quickly. Is the game originally in Japanese so you're doing your own translation of #the JP version or is this just 'I prefer jp over eng so I translated the jp localization of the eng into eng'#This also reminds me of the occasional person who reads JP idw or watches jp Sonic Prime and acts like it's original or holds more merit as #a version. As if you aren't just translating a localization of a production in English to English again
