Alright pookies, I have a complaint. Nothing serious just the impassioned rambles of a man about Twst.
So, Leona kingscholar. Pretty Hot guy yeah? Yeah but stay on task. I have questions, because I may be an eng player but I still see leaks right? This concerns his fucking club wear card, the spell drive uniform. That one. Mhm, so yknow how in the groovy he’s wearing sunglasses right? Yeah but, HOW is the question HE DOESNT HAVE ANY FUCKING HUMAN EARS. YOU KINDA NEED THOSE FOR SUNGLASSES TO oh, I don’t know, STAY ON YOUR FACE? And especially when you’re doing something like spell drive- a fast paced sport that requires a lot of zipping around in the air on brooms. So how the fuck, pray tell, is he wearing sunglasses? How are they staying on his face?! Like they look like they just go into his hair!! That! is! not! secure!! At least ruggie has a rational explanation for his goggles and how they work. But Leona? This guy? He’s just got his kitty cat ears and Lucious locks, no strap keeping them in place, no nothing!
Also how the fuck do headphones work for beastfolk? Do they have special little music hats they can wear on their ears? Or do they just wear them like humans and put them on like normal over the human EARS THAT ARENT THERE. therefore making them unable to actually use them. Or like, what about earmuffs? The logistics of these things stress me out to no end. THESE ARE PRESSING CONCERNS PEOPLE!!!

For your Shooting Stars AU, have you given descriptions of the alien species on the ship? maybe the main crew members if there are too many. Also! I know humans are the smallest (soon to be known) intelligent species but can you give an average height chart of the other species on the ship (plus human for reference)?
:O you're right, I haven't given descriptions yet! I definitely have them though :D
Some of them are actually the same kind of alien, so I'll do them in groups. The name of the alien species aren't set yet, but it's what I'm calling them for now.
Faunians: Tubbo, Dream, Puffy.
- these are aliens that look sort of like a cross between goat and sheep hybrids. They're actually one of the few sentient mammal type species. They have a wooly fur instead of hair, and have goat like legs with hooves, like a Faun would. Their hands are also hooflike, although they have four separate fingers and are able to grab things. They all have horns, goat type noses, and square pupils. Their teeth are also different, basically being a mouth entirely full of molars. (Puffy and Dream are actually related. Though Tubbo is the same species as them, he's not related.)
Phantoms: Wilbur
- more of an insect type alien, with most of their torso having an exoskeleton. Their limbs are slightly translucent, and they have a wispy hair like substance on their head that functions like antennae. They're nocturnal, and have sharp, needlelike teeth. Their eyes are completely black, and they don't have ears, they hear by sensing vibrations with their antenna/hair. They have a tail for balance that has flaps on the end that look like the wings of a minecraft phantom. Their hands and feet are tipped with sharp claws.
Shifters: Quackity, Slimecicle
- shifters are exactly what they sound like. They're sort of a globular mess of very unstable cells in their regular form. They can change their shape to imitate pretty much any life form, although they can't mimic size or any more specialized characteristics like better night vision or speed. Just the basic form. Quackity tends to hang out in a form that's a cross between faunian and phantom. (ironically, he looks the closest to human of the bunch.) Slime tries, but he's usually very goopy, and only his face is consistently solid.
Creepers: Sam
- creepers are plant based aliens. Sam has a mouth, but he actually photosynthesizes to eat. If creepers get too agitated, they produce a flammable gas from their bodies. This causes occasional explosions. Creepers have six limbs, two pairs to walk on, and one pair as arms. Their bodies are mostly a mottled mossy green.
Totems: Foolish
- totems were once a sea dwelling species, and they are still fully capable of living in the water, although they aren't as built for swimming as they used to be. Their bodies are very solid and dense, with only their heads having water dwelling characteristics. Their heads aside from their faces are shark like, but their faces look like totems. They still have sharp teeth, similar to a sharks, but less jagged more curving. They have two pairs of eyes, one on the side of their head on the shark part and one on the front of their faces. They have tails that look very aquatic, but aren't enough to make them super fast swimmers. They can breathe underwater, but aren't very good swimmers.
And an extra one:
Demons: Badboyhalo
- Bad isn't technically part of the crew, but he might come up later in the story, so I'll add him. Demons are the largest aliens, the tallest up to nearly 160 feet. Their entire bodies are coated in a fine black fur, and they have three pairs of eyes, each for something different. (one for movement, one for color and detail, one for heat vision.) They have two pairs of arms, a double tail, and horns.
Now onto heights!
I'll basically just be going from tallest to shortest lol.
Aliens
---------
Bad: 152 ft
Foolish: 143 ft
Sam: 140 ft
Wilbur: 132 ft
Dream: 121 ft
Tubbo: 118 ft
Puffy: 113 ft
Quackity/Slime: ??? Their heights fluctuate depending on what form they're taking. They're usually around the same height range, it just depends on how much of their mass is being used where. Quackity tends to hang around Tubbo's height, and Slime fluctuates anywhere from Foolish to Puffy's height.
Humans
-----------
Ranboo: 6'6
Techno: 6'2
Tommy: 6'0
Phil: 5'11
For comparisons, if Wilbur were human sized, Ranboo would be about 4 inches to him and Phil would be a little over 3.
So far, the smallest recognized sentient life are fox hybrid type creatures that I just now thought of and don't have a name for yet. (Fundy, essentially.)
Their size ranges from about 70-85 feet. Fundy would be about 80 ft, which in comparison to Wilbur again, is about 3'8".
So humans are the smallest by a long shot. The fox aliens were considered unusually small for sentient life already. It doesn't even cross Wilbur or Tubbo's minds at first that the humans could be sentient.

“Redemption Arcs” Magic Post (Part 1)
Because “Redemption Arcs” is basically a half-assed collage of ideas that can barely be classified as coherent and a sad excuse for the outline of a “story”, I’ve decided to start creating lore posts about how the universe works. Yep, I said universe, because space travel, other planets, and futuristic technology is a thing. Not to forget, it’s my attempt to fit all of my favorite characters into one storyline, so it’s bound to get a bit complicated. So strap yourselves in, demons that live in my room, because we’re talking about ~magic~.
There’s three different types of magic, unique abilities some magic has over others, a council of the best magic users, and abilities which are unrelated to “magic”.
Types of Magic:
Set: Set magic is magic that only has one specific “form”. You know how elemental magic works in other media, in which a fire user can only use fire magic and whatnot? Yeah, this is basically that but on a broader spectrum. Not only does Set magic apply to various elements, like fire, electricity, and metal, it also applies to other things, such as telepathy, telekinesis, shadow manipulation, the manipulation/use of sound, and so on. What a Set magic user can do depends on the kind of magic, but they can’t do anything unrelated to their type of magic. Like, a fire user can’t use telepathy, and etcetera. Set magic is the most versatile and common-- you can be very good at it, or have little use of it. It’s not a surprise to see someone using Set magic for very mundane things. However, if one is unusually powerful when welding Set magic, they have a chance at becoming one of the ~Illustrious Trine~. However, that is very rare-- not only do you have to practice a lot, you must be naturally gifted with the power, which is very rare.
Fluid: Fluid magic is an oddity. Not restricted to a certain aspect like Set magic, Fluid magic users have a lot more use for their magic. Their magic can act as extra limbs, with special powers. One can move things around without needing to lift a finger. One could use their magic in combat, either using the limbs to strike and block, or instead conjuring their magic in a powerful blast of light. They could use the magic to give themselves wings and fly, or hold a legion at bay. Fluid magic users are incredibly rare, but most, if not all of them, are extremely powerful. Thus, they have the reputation for being unstable and uncontrollable, able to turn on you at the flick of a switch. Due to Fluid magic being very hard to control correctly, anyone born with Fluid magic must take classes to restrain their magic (or if their family is wealthy, learn to use it). There is a Registry for all Fluid magic users, in which they are added to at birth-- hiding a Fluid magic user from the Registry is a harshly punishable crime. It’s unknown what causes people to be born with Fluid magic, but it does seem to occur more commonly when at least one of the parents is very powerful with Set magic.
Deity: Deity magic has no bounds. And when I mean no bounds, I mean no bounds. Unlimited body modification? It’s possible. Turning someone to dust with a flick of your tail? Definitely possible. Creating fits of mass hysteria? Wiping out whole cities? Summoning a perfect chocolate cake out of nothing? All of it is possible for a Deity magic user. That’s because Deity magic users are typically, well, deities. If someone is immortal, then they probably have Deity magic. Sure, restrictions vary from deity to deity, but the gist of Deity magic is that boundaries depend entirely on the user, and not Deity magic itself.
Non-Magic:
Innate Abilities: Innate Abilities can be confused for magic, but in reality are not magic at all! Abilities are restricted to certain species, and are simply acquired by just being that species. That’s why they’re called Innate Abilities-- you just get them at birth. They’re innate. Some examples are clones, all of whom can shapeshift, and dragons, which all have some sort of elemental breath depending on the subspecies. Of course, there are many other examples, but it would be impossible to list them all. And yes-- someone can have both an Innate Ability AND Set or Fluid magic.
Ok this is getting longer than I expected I’ll finish it later

More Ado about Characters:
Alright, now for round 2!  The following characters are all more one-offs and have no direct relation to each other quite the same was as Nell/Leonora/Barnes do, so let’s see if I can keep this under novel length.
Remy Green, aka Remy:  17 years old in current canon, and still in the last leg of high school, Remy is, for lack of any better term, a reverse werewolf: perpetually stuck in the form of a gangly wolfdog monster on all nights save the brightest of full moons.  Originally just a “normal” human kid just trying to survive through graduation, her entire life wound up turned on its head when an out of control werewolf attacked and bit her while out with friends one night.  He was subdued and arrested, even later charged for the negligence and violent assault, but the damage had been done and the virus passed on— in the worst ways.
Remy essentially suffered the equivalent of a severe allergic reaction and anaphylaxis during the first shift, which took hours (normal were shifts should be minutes) and resulted in her parents frantically driving her to the ER in tears.  She survived, though the diagnosis— for a fragile kid with shaky self esteem— was, at the time, seemingly a fate worse than death.  Despite her form, she never seems to suffer the loss of mindfulness or weakened inhibitions of most werefolk during “peak” moon periods.
Remy has since started learning how to cope with life in a new form she didn’t really want or ask for, and she has the full, unwavering support of her parents, though it’s still a lot for a teenaged kid to handle.  I’m pretty sure she wound up being pulled from high school and is trying to finish out her last year and a half or so at home, though she could really use some friends she doesn’t think are “obligated” to love her like her parents are.  I think she’s pretty lonely and dealing with a lot of depression issues.  Luckily she’ll fall in with Wayne at some point, who’s like a sweet (greasy stoner) older brother, and he and the rest of the Losers can adopt the hell out of her as a little sister and teach her how to not give a fuck about what humans think when you’re a weirdo.  She’ll earn her happy ending eventually.
Rose Lund:  Absolutely 100% a retooling/transplant of one of my dearest, most beloved, super shitty/earnest self-insert characters as a 12 year old on Neopets and I have NO SHAME AT ALL.  Rose is a human mage (they do exist!) around 30 or so, a pale/skinny English-Caucasian mutt with green eyes, straight brown hair, and a penchant for fancifully extra looking dyed bang fringies because she’s stopped giving a fuck.  She’s one of those rare people who can strike up a conversation with just about anyone, blessed by a very… unique way with words that’s unintentionally contributed to her internet fame as a slice of life blogger about the day to day trials of pet dragon (well, wyrm) ownership.
Rose has been passionate about rare and magical exotic creatures since she was a wee girl, and developed an obsession with dragons (‘wyrms’ being the correct term for all non-sentient varieties) before she was out of grade school.  In college she double majored cryptobiology and spell artistry, then upon graduation, acquired a pair of rare pygmy wyrms— from temperate and tundra subspecies— respectively, as pets, both for personal reasons and to aid in her pursuit of a master’s degree in cryptobiological husbandy.
Pygmy wyrms, it should be noted, are generally terrible pets.  While only growing to approximately the size of a house cat (10-12 pounds on average) and sporting the appearance of beautifully miniaturized mythological six-limbed dragons any fantasy nut would fall in love with, they are far from domesticated, exasperatingly precocious, and have the charming habit of expelling flammable gas from a myriad of orifices when startled.  They have a distinctive, vaguely musky sulfurous smell about them regardless of cleanliness and are just clever enough to ignore training commands when convenient.  Imagine giving a very ornery, very clever raccoon flappy wings with a several foot wingspan, feeding it rotten eggs, and strapping a flamethrower to both ends, then rigging it all with an excitable hair trigger.  That is a pygmy wyrm.  Rose owns two in an apartment complex: Ice Pack (Packy), who is a pale milk white/ice blue, and Sharky (Sharkbite), who is black and burgundy/red.
Needless to say they’re the loves of her lives and she revolves around them, having garnered a massive internet following thanks to her daily posts about their antics and the realities of exotic pet care.  They’re harness trained now and reasonably polite, though this is only due to years of hard work and constant reinforcement.  She hopes one day to breed more biddable specimens and help contribute to the conservation of the species worldwide.  Also, they’ve made her very good at anti-flammability hexes.
Shun —: known only by her first name, a kitsune who moved into the apartment complex fairly recently with her pet pipe fox, Yuzu.  It should be noted that kitsune are particularly long lived among mythicals, though how long exactly that is tends to be hotly debated and unknown by all but the foxes themselves.  What is known is how they are extremely slow to age after reaching their peak maturity/fitness, with certain individuals reported over 500 years old and, apparently, showing very little of their age beyond a massive swath of grown tails (nine being the highest on known record).  Kitsune typically grow to around 30-40 lbs, outwardly resembling a much large. leggier, more willowy silhouette than traditional foxes, and will begin life with a single tail that splits or “buds” and multiplies over time.
Neurologically they are fairly unique among mammals, possessing a kind of distributed intelligence throughout the body that can give the tails a “mind of their own”, so to speak, in much the same way as octopi or other related cephalopods do.  In fact, due to the extremely slow rate of cell death/turnover, a severed kitsune tail will continue to move and attempt “functioning” for weeks, even years by some reports, under correct conditions.  Which I’ll get into shortly.
Swerving back to Shun herself, she’s an artist by trade who zigzags between traditional and digital freelance work for a living.  Conservation of mass is still in place for humanoid shifts— which all kitsune can voluntarily assume— with predictably small, delicate, androgynous bodies that rarely get above 4’5’’ or so in stature.  Features like pointed ears or slit pupils/exposed tails can be morphed or shown as desired, though the chronic perception of being childlike or “cute” regardless of how old they are is a pretty common occurrence.  Shun is no stranger to this either, and hates shopping for clothes at non-mythical-specific places because she has to do so in the *really* young children’s department for anything to fit.
Back on the subject of pipe foxes, though— Shun is a kitsune with 3 and 3/4 tails.  She had an unspecified accident several years ago in which she lost the final quarter of her fourth tail, but managed to retrieve the piece after several weeks of searching, at which point it was already trying to become a pipe fox.  Pipe foxes (at least in this world) are the result of a severed kitsune tail’s survival instincts going horribly wrong (or right) and attempting to restructure themselves for survival, and the amount of tail there (i.e. how much was separated from the body) will determine what becomes of it, though the “starting” process is pretty identical no matter what you do.
If a severed piece of tail has no food, eventually, with time, it will die.  If, however, you keep it somewhere safe (like a drawer) and you present it with food (which could be, I don’t know, a chicken leg), it will sense it, and you will see the start of a small, gaping fanged mouth begin to grow from the stump.  Once this has formed, the tail will wriggle itself to its prize and devour everything it can, sustaining it.  Keep feeding the tail and it will continue to grow legs, organs, features, and a face— though not necessarily in that order.  Eventually, you will have a small— usually mouse to rat sized— beautiful white magic fox, prized heavily by black market collectors for its splendor and apparent luck giving properties.  A true quarter-tailed pipe fox will live somewhere between 5-40 years, unpredictably.  The distributed intelligence of the tail will reform/conglomerate into a brain relatively on par with a modern pet dog, possibly smarter (or much dumber) depending on your luck.
If, however, there is MORE than roughly a quarter tail chopped off, with more of the nervous tissue and mass intact, the pipe fox resulting may appear larger and more robust.  Many exotic buyers have been lured into purchasing these creatures from traders without realizing, and years later the unlucky recipient will find their precious fox’s skin suddenly flaccid on the ground like a shed cocoon, having erupted into 75 tinier pipe foxes that will summarily swarm the accessible property to spirit off with literally anything they decide is valuable, never to be found again, often raging like an infestation for days or WEEKS before vanishing forever.
Rumor has it that feeding an entire severed tail will result in 75 tiny pipe foxes bursting forth from the cocoon shell that will each burst into 75 more bug sized foxes each, resulting in a plague of nigh biblical proportions.  But that’s never actually been confirmed on record.
Needless to say the kitsune have a lot of protocols for dealing with severed tails and will usually destroy half-formed pipe foxes of unknown origin on the spot.  Shun keeps Yuzu as a pet due to being intimately aware of the little rat-sized creature’s origins, and she still had to sign SO many extra insurance papers and wavers before the complex would let her move in.
I am not good at keeping it short, am I?  Wow.  Well, there you have it!  I’d be happy to answer any extra stuff I forgot too if someone has a question.  I do love these nerds.

Ramblings From An Alpaca Farm In South Wiltshire: April 2017
Tumblr media
Roger Resilient was up next, sadly, as I was in the ring virtually all day, Sue was working round getting the alpacas lined up for me and could not photograph Roger as he competed in his big class. Common readers could do not forget that this was to be the massive Patou v Popham clash, the battle of the brown boys. Unfortunately Gary's boys have fallen by the wayside, his final contender being bumped to fawn at the Futurity. Graciously Gary conceded defeat and Roger was able to focus. I have to say he seemed pretty much as good as he ever has as he went in, and bugger me he snaffled second place! I should say I am unable to remember who came first, I can't even remember who else was within the ring. My thoughts was on other issues. My thoughts was on the massive one. I may see Sue waiting within the holding area with the big boy. Van Diemen Qjori of Patou was about to make his first entry into a UK present ring. Further, alpacas eat much less per pound than similar species and their waste product is wanted as a pure, low odor fertilizer. Their gentle, playful demeanor makes them supreme for elevating herds, one cause why alpaca farms have become more prominent all around the world. The commonest garments made from alpacas are sweaters. With nominal care, they'll actually final a lifetime. The fiber used to make these sweaters is processed utterly naturally, with no Fun Things to do in Hampshire animals harmed. The tip product is hotter than wool, pleasantly smooth to the contact, and naturally hypoallergenic. Over the past 25 years, more and more alpaca garments have come into prominence. Shawls, scarves, gloves, and even slippers are actually quite frequent. Alpaca socks are effectively famous for their warmth, breatheability, and natural odor prevention properties. Very similar to cashmere, alpaca sweaters are identified for their years of durability. Maybe this is because of alpacas themselves being quite sturdy. Their native habitat, in mountainous Peru, is mostly harsh. These animals have thrived quite well despite difficult local weather and terrain, and are adaptable to other situations as nicely. Though there isn't any concrete proof, alpacas are thought to be the oldest surviving livestock species on the planet. And so, durability appears to be a typical theme, from the animals themselves to the products produced from their fleece. An ideal option to learn extra about alpacas and the clothing produced from their fleece is to go to an alpaca farm. A number of are situated in nearly each state within the U.S. Not solely will you gain a better appreciation for these wonderful animals, you may simply add to your wardrobe too!
Our subconscious however sees the message and catalogues it. Although it catalogues it whether the individual will observe it or not is one other question. If they are strong willed and robust minded then they aren't going to observe the message. If nevertheless they're weak and pliable they may go get a cola or some burgers and fries. It all depends upon the individual. Luckily for companies then umber of individuals that can really resist this message are few and much between. Many individuals are weak and pliable and don't concentrate to what's happening outdoors their own little world. Most corporations nonetheless stopped utilizing the messages as regular advertising will get the job completed successfully. Lets face it people aren't as sharp as they use to be. In closing determining how to make use of subliminal videos successfully is a ability that eludes many individuals. It's not really needed anymore though as people will purchase absolutely anything. Here in the United States, however, there are so few alpacas that, up until now, no financial incentive existed to market fleece past the niche markets of hand-spinners and weavers. The entire national clip (all the fleece collected in a yr in this country) is now about 50 tons, compared to Peru’s four,000 tons. A commercial mill may course of that quantity in three days. In consequence, there may be little motivation for American large mills geared for sheep’s wool to modify in any approach to accommodate this new product. Two things must occur to vary the minds of American giant mill owners. The number of alpacas in the United States has to increase dramatically (which it is on monitor for) and breeders must start to breed their inventory with an eye toward fleece quality. The Alpaca Fiber Cooperative of North America (AFCNA) was established in 1998 to help its members in amassing, processing and distributing their alpaca fiber. Fiber apart, cash can actually be made in the marketplace for breeding livestock since that market is far from saturated and enjoys a robust demand. A quantity of things assure future market progress.
Gary and Felicia Sanders welcome you to our family run farm in Cornwall. We've stud males, breeding females, pet and guard alpacas for sale. We satisfaction ourselves in the way in which we care for our alpacas. Our expertise has shown that the quieter the alpaca the simpler they're to handle. Because of this we guarantee a calm and enjoyable strategy to their administration. Our alpacas are dealt with often from delivery, they turn into accustomed to human interaction and noise. Guests usually comment on how settled and relaxed our alpacas seem. Now we have been breeding alpacas since 2002. Running a combined herd of a hundred and twenty huacaya and suri alpacas the farm permits us to mix our love for the animals with a centered approach in direction of breeding enchancment. We're striving to create a top quality alpaca with superior fibre characteristics and sound conformation. We welcome guests and might arrangefarm visits/alpaca introduction courses to fit your requirements. We have a purpose built alpaca centre.
Growing chicks to chickens is difficult work however is quite fulfilling, especially when you’re about to learn from it. Chickens do change so shortly. Within only a month, you would discover improvement. On the start of life they're just little slimy egg contents and the following factor you understand they can now chirp their way to the coop starting an entire new life - a life that’s self-sufficient and nevertheless, unbiased. Jumping off from three to six weeks previous, a chicken sheds off its fluffiness and replaces it with feathers that may turn out to be more mature. Combs and wattles will grow and switch to a deep crimson hue. If you are raising cockerels, what you name a younger rooster, they will attempt to crow. At the age of 21-25 weeks, pullets will lay their very first eggs. Pullets are the young hens. One characteristic of a pullet’s egg is that its shell is weak and small. HARI SREENIVASAN: Now to our NewsHour Shares, something that caught our eye, which may be of curiosity to you, too. Disabled animals typically need a serving to hand with a purpose to stroll again. One Virginia man dedicated his life to ensuring they get that much-wanted leg up. The NewsHour’s Julia Griffin explains. JULIA GRIFFIN: That hum of equipment filling this Northern Virginia workshop means Derrick Campana is difficult at work. DERRICK CAMPANA, CEO, Animal Ortho Care: This is among the more final steps in the fabrication course of. JULIA GRIFFIN: What he and his group are fabricating are synthetic limbs, not for humans, like many orthotists, however for equally rewarding patients. Campana is the one of the world’s go-to specialists for animal braces and prosthetics, a ardour that began greater than 12 years in the past. DERRICK CAMPANA: A veterinarian got here to my office, and she introduced a canine that wanted a prosthesis.
The Tyrannosaurus Rex is one of the famous extinct animals. He was the largest carnivorous land animal of all time, measuring forty-three feet long and sixteen and a half ft high, with a weight which will have approached seven tons. He had a huge skull (but a small brain), balanced by a long tail. His hind legs had been massive and powerful, but his forelimbs were very small and so they only had two digits on them. T. Rex fossils have been present in North America, and these date back to the last years of the Cretaceous Period. This was roughly sixty-five million years in the past. He was one of the final dinosaurs on earth before the extinction-causing occasion that befell all of the dinosaurs. There have been more than thirty fossil constructions unearthed that archaeologists identify as T. rex. Another fascinating mammal on the extinct animals list is the Quagga, which is a wild animal, half horse, half zebra. Not good, you want real stamina to flip by means of 42 pages of alpaca sites. So numerous measures were taken to improve this standing and we now pop up on or near the front web page most of the time, I nonetheless don’t perceive how it really works but it surely does. In actual fact I have simply had a look on Google and we're on the primary web page at the moment, fantastic! The website now gets in excess of fifty hits a day and the blog is read by folks from everywhere in the world. Critically, it is! I have a thingy on it which tells me where persons are that read it, how cool is that? So back to this raising cash malarkey. In 2007 we took on some alpacas from other small breeders (who wanted to stay small) and some from EP Cambridge (not a small breeder!) and marketed and offered them on their behalf.
