A complete Annapurna Base Camp Trek
Tumblr media
One of the best ways to explore and come across the spectacular beauty of the Himalayas is the Annapurna Base Camp Trek. Hundreds and thousands of travel enthusiasts venture on this amazing adventurous journey every year, with one motto to dwell in the charm of the glistening snowy Himalayan mountains. No doubt Annapurna Base Camp Trekking falls under the most admired trails in the Himalayas.
Annapurna Base Camp Trek leads to the lap of the world's tenth highest mountain, Mt. Annapurna (8,091 m). The journey lets you witness some of the most stunning massifs, fine mountain villages, dense forests, breath-taking sceneries, and the kind locals.
Along with all this pleasure and adventure comes lots of prior preparations. To make the trek successful, there are lots of things that are required to be properly planned and executed. And, this should be done by both sides, the travel agency and the guest.
In this blog, we are going to share detailed information about the Annapurna Base Camp Trek route, and all the things that you should know before joining the trip.
Annapurna Base Camp Trek Route
Tumblr media
As per your time availability, you can choose one of our Annapurna Base Camp Trek itinerary or custom design your own. We offer a range of Annapurna Base Camp Trekking packages from short 3 days Annapurna Base Camp Trek to 15 day Annapurna Base Camp Trek. Usually, Annapurna Base Camp Trek begins from a scenic flight/drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara. From here, a short drive takes you to the starting point of the trek, Nayapul.
The trail from Nayapul gradually ascends through Tikhedhunga and leads you to the beautiful Ghorepani village. The next morning, you hike to Poon Hill to witness a glorious sunrise and wonderful views of the western Himalayan mountains. Further, the trail passes by lush rhododendron forests and fine villages like Ghandruk, Tadapani, Chhomrong, and Himalaya. Before reaching the Annapurna Base Camp, you pass by Machhapuchhre Base Camp. After exploring ABC, you descend through Bamboo and stop at Jhinu Danda to enjoy a natural hot spring. The trail then takes back to Nayapul, which marks the end of Annapurna Base Camp Trekking.
Annapurna Base Camp Trek difficulty & Altitude sickness
Tumblr media
Annapurna Base Camp Trek route follows a moderate trail. If you are an experienced trekker, then this trek will be a piece of cake for you. However, if you are a beginner trekker, the trail can get a little difficult for you because of long walking, many ascend & descends, and trodden paths. Regardless of the difficulty, anyone can do Annapurna Base Camp Trek if he/she is healthy and physically fit.
Annapurna Base Camp Trekking is a high altitude trek, which automatically involves the risk of altitude sickness, also known as acute mountain sickness. This trek takes you above 4,000 meters in a matter of a few days. Altitude sickness can get really scary and troublesome if not handled properly on time.
To lower the chances of AMS, we take all the measures during the trek. Our Annapurna Base Camp Trek itinerary is crafted including ample rest days along with a constant increase in elevation. Moreover, our professional guides make sure you are not having any discomfort on the trail, and check-upon you every day.

Best season to go on Annapurna Base Camp Trek
As a matter of fact, you can go to Annapurna Base Camp Trek throughout the year. It completely depends on your preference and circumstances. With that being said, you have to know all the pros and cons of traveling in each of the seasons so that you can choose what is best for you.
Spring (March to May)
Spring is one of the best times to go on Annapurna Base Camp Trek because of low precipitation and mild-temperature. The days are usually bright and sunny, which makes the views clear. In the early days of the spring, you will experience coldness in the air that later changes into warmer days. Due to high elevation, there can be chances of snowfall in March, but other months will be fine. Likewise, the trail welcomes numerous vegetation and flora at this time of the year.
Summer (June to Mid- September)
The temperature ranges between 20 to 25 degrees Celsius on average in summer. The lower altitude is comparatively warmer than the high altitude. Still, you can walk and enjoy the trek. Similarly, the monsoon hits slowly in these months with chances of heavy rainfall. We recommend you, start the day early and reach your destination on time so that you do not get stuck in rain.
The weather gets very unpredictable, and it cannot be said when rainfall will occur. The trail can get slippery with bugs and unclear views, however, the rain-washed view is one of the best views one can admire. As it is off-season, the trail is less crowded as well.
Autumn ( October to November)
Autumn is the most preferred time to go on Annapurna Base Camp Trek. It is the peak season, and you can see many fellow trekkers from all around the world. There can be 6 mm of precipitation in October, however, November is mostly clear and bright with a hint of chillness in the air. The temperature ranges anywhere from 17 degrees celsius to 11 degrees celsius. Likewise, the views are fantastic and alluring. Other than the pleasant weather, festivals make this season more attractive to join the trek. Nepalis celebrate the range of their most important festivals in the autumn.
Winter (December to February)
Winter is the coldest time of the year in the Himalayas. The temperature can fall below -19 degrees Celsius at the base camp. There can be unpredicted chances of heavy snowfall, strong wind, and avalanches. Winter is considered off-season. Photographers are the ones who usually approach this time of the year to trek to Annapurna Base Camp. The views can be either unclear or breath-taking, depending on the weather. You need to precisely prepare for the trek if you are planning to join in winter. Also, know that most of the teahouses get closed on the higher elevation due to cold.
Food & Accommodations on Annapurna Base Camp Trek
Annapurna Base Camp Trekking trail offers a wide range of cuisines to dig in from typical Nepali dishes to Indian, Tibetan, and Continental. During the trek, we offer three meals a day- breakfast, lunch & dinner. All the meals will be served as per the menu of the guesthouse/teahouse. However, we want you to know that the taste of the dishes may not be the same as the city one because of species.
For breakfast, you can find oatmeal, toast (with jam, honey, peanut butter), Tibetan bread, corn flakes, porridge, pancakes, eggs, hashed brown, muesli, etc. Likewise, lunch and dinner usually consist of thukpa, dal bhat, momo, pasta, soups, steaks, burgers, pizza, veggies, curries, chapati (Indian/Tibetan bread), etc. Similarly, a wide range of drinks like tea, coffee, juice, hot chocolates, milk, etc is also available.
Travel Insurance
Tumblr media
Travel insurance is a must to have to join Annapurna Base Camp Trekking. ABC Trek takes you to a very remote part of the Himalayas, where the basic infrastructure is underdeveloped. Likewise, the weather is unpredictable. No one knows what holds in the next moment in the Himalayas. Therefore, it is strongly recommended to have well-covered travel insurance before joining the trek.
Things like air evacuations, medical bills, and hospital bills are mandatory to have in the insurance. We also recommend adding loss or theft of personal properties and flight cancellation in your travel insurance. The Nepal government does not allow foreigners to take out travel insurance in Nepal, therefore you are requested to get one in your home country, and carry all the documents with you during the journey.

Game Narrative Project 1- Character Designs
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Thief (Player Character) Designs
One thing that had to be done for this character across all designs was the character would have to wear a helmet as this would be a part of his character since underneath the character would be wearing a mask that would allow them to steal the face of a person that the character has scanned allowing his real identity to be safe if unmasked.
1) For the first design I decided to start of going with a casual look and building a little on the design similar to that in some of the reference images gathered  so I decided to keep the armor light going for a small shoulder plate and a “wrist computer” keeping in mind these character is a thief and they need tobe recognized as one.
2) For the second design I decided to follow the similar idea of adding a cape attached to the characters hood as  again I cape is associated with a hero I also decided to try and make the character look like he comes from a lower background maybe go for a robin hood sort of character.
3) Here I began to think my previous characters weren't easily identifiable as being apart of the sci-fi genre but could be identifiable as a thief but this design I tried to make the design more identifiable to the sci-fi genre and for this I decided to give the character robot arms and a helmet with a larger visor and to help keep the thief design I decided to go with a long coat.
4) This design I followed the same idea from the previous design but make the character look like a lower class character going for a sleeveless shirt and again adding a hood as this is something I think is element associated with a thief.
5) Combining both the elements that I liked from both this being the long coat, the hood and removing the sleeves. Though this time I decided to have one of the sleeves ripped and only going for one arm being robotic I also decided to make the robot arm much simpler and  also adding a hood as again I think its something associated to a thief.
6)  For this design I decided to change things a little bit and instead of realiying on the robotic arm to identify this character being from the sci-fi genre and for this and went  with a poncho/ cloak like clothing to try and add in the cape like design and to get the length of the coat from 3 and 5 by adding some pieces of cloth that would hang from his belt.
7) I decided to add a spin as shown in the two character designs courses I did and decided to go for a more gentleman thief sort of appearance and the design I was able to produce while I think doesn’t really achieve this I do think it makes the character look experienced.
Detective Design
1) So again I decided to start of simple and go for an outfit that could be used for the NPC designs but since it would be uniform it would be easy to make her identifiable as apart of the police force.
2) Moving away from the uniform design this design I decided to focus on the element of clothing that are usually identifiable as  a detective with the long coat, button up shirt etc.
3) Now I decided to take elements from both design 1 and 2 and combine them and having S.W.A.T like armor on in the upper chest piece and should pads and like the thief design to get the length from the coat I added pieces of cloth attached to her belt and to help with the sci-fi setting I also gave her a wrist computer.
4) For this design I decided to try a more office/ causal look for this character removing the long coat and having rolled up sleeves and following shirt design from one of my references which had a collar like element to it as I didn’t want this design to look too causal as it still need her to look like she’s working with the badge on her belt and a bag/ gun attached to her thigh.
5) Going back to a classic look with the long coat and this time adding a hat with slight changes this being the large fur around the collar of her jacket with the shorter sleeves allowing the long sleeve shirt to reappear at the wrist. I also added the tie as I wanted to try and make this design look more professional.
6) Here I decided to move again away for the professinal look aimed for in 5 and this time go for something that could be in the middle between causal and professional. The causal pieces I did for this character would be the hat, scarf, short sleeve shirt and for the professional I decided add a waist coat and under her shirt could be an light long sleeve piece of armor as well as adding some armor on the trousers that would provide defense similar to that of a Tasset for armor from my knight research and knee pads the boots could be seen as both I think.
Police (NPCs) Designs
1) Like my previous character designs I decided to start of with a cliche design for a sci-fi police officer going for full body armor with a helmet with a visor that covers up to just above the nose.
2) This design I decided to further develop the 1st design adding a bit more armor and including a full helmet with the goal of taking the previous design and making it look more like a heavy character.
3) Following my last to design and feeling like they felt “uninteresting” I decided to try and add a bit more character to these NPCs and trying some things such as reducing the armor and maybe having a blend of both heavy and light design maybe introducing the sort of bullet proof fabric like the 6th design of my Detective, which I though could be shown for the fabric around the abs area and as for character I decided to follow a similar process I used for my thief designs.
4) For the 4th idea I decided to go with idea of bullet proof fabric and also took into consideration the 1st level idea and went with a more formal disguise  design but would stand out for the player. I did want to still keep the idea that this is sci-fi (though maybe with colour and texture this may not be needed) I added the armor for the hand.
5)  Going back to the idea I had for the 3rd idea I decided to find a blend of light and heavy armor and adding a bit of personality to these NPCs and went with idea that maybe these uniforms where meant to be feared and live in a more dark future which could help make the characters the player would play as/ with supportive of their actions.
6) Looking back at these designs I had this idea of them being armored looking SWAT/ army like so for this design I decided to try and go for clothing look (which could have this bullet proof fabric if taken forward) and could just be related to through the colors chosen (also badge which I would design if taken forward) though I didn’t want this design to look like design 4, so I did decided to add a little bit of protection like the knee pads and shoulder plate.

Kurt Fashion: Michael
Link to masterpost
Ugh why didn’t Kurt get a solo this ep (and every ep lol)
Tumblr media
Return of that hat I hate, gosh Kurt why. Also, when first watching all hype like ‘omg Kurt in leather jacket’ but then I realized it was a jumpsuit and... oof. Not as bad as that quilted white one? But... I’m not a fan of jumpsuits lol
Tumblr media
Looking MUCH better here, working his patented hip swivel. The belt works to to break up the jumpsuit (tho looks like extra strap... dare a I say... a harness??). This whole look is v glam metal, Starchild would approve. I love his boots and would lowkey wear them. Work it, Kurt
Tumblr media
Not fingerless gloves, but still looking snazzy. I like the detail along his pants, and the white boots look good with this outfit. Love the cut of the blazer, he’s just looking very classy here
Tumblr media
I’ve seen this jacket before and I wanted it and I still do. So impractical and I love it, and i love when he wears it over his black turtleneck
Tumblr media
Omg yes, this is what I wanted with him in leather. Look at him in all black with the gloves and the vest, such secret agent vibes, perfect for underground sing-off. Also, love a ‘sleeves pushed up to show off forearms’ like. 10/10
Tumblr media
Kurt has his new bag that’s been popping up a bit. Still bad for his shoulders, but looks cool. I love these boots of his, looks nice with beige. A simpler outfit, he’s def been toning things down this season. Maybe more confident etc
Tumblr media
Not many can pull off a poncho... but he does. It’s v visually interesting with the panels/textures so it doesn’t swallow him up. Seems like he’s wearing it with tighter pants and I like the black/grey/green combo
Tumblr media
K but the sweater with the bowtie... this looks a lot like a Blaine look? Is he missing his bf??? Sweater looks comfy ofc and the pinstripe pants make things a bit busy? But not terrible. I keep finding him wearing grey and brown and it doesn’t always work? Very cool tones with the sweater, warmer/earthier tones with the pants.
Tumblr media
Ok I really like this. I like the longer blazer with the two tones, I love his chunky boots and the pants that fit him (he’s grown so much, sweetie) and I like the scarf. Similar to his layered looks, but more polished and very chic. Perfect for being a NYADA finalist, babe
Tumblr media
So first off I really love his fingerless gloves here, love how it matches his suspenders and the brings out the pattern on the blazer. I’m a sucker for the ‘loose suspenders’ look. Love that his jeans actually fit him and ofc I love the turtleneck. Navy and black don’t always work together? But works here bc the burgundy helps lighten the blue
Tumblr media
Only a glimpse of his shirt here. Much brighter than most of his other outfits this ep. Also... idk, the colour combo and the stripes again remind me of a Blaine look. Cute tho

I know that I don’t draw him as often as I should, but I honestly like the Nomad a lot.
That being said, my only head canon for what he could possibly look like underneath the hat, the poncho, the scarf, etc. is based off that Wayside School story where a new student that wears layers upon layers of jackets joins the class, and is revealed to be a dead rat, so

So, here's the deal about looking good with fashion: hair and makeup are the hardest. Once you have that on point, here's the fashion basics:
-make sure it fits right - form-fitting and/or decent measurements, not baggy or overtly and obscenely tight, nor too high/low in wrong places
-make sure your comfortable in it so you feel good rockin' it, don't feel awkward nor too physically uncomfortable in it
-make sure it at least somewhat matches, neutral colors and a pop of color is good, and if nothing else, match a piece to makeup and accessories, if not to other pieces
-bring something "covering" in case of emergencies, a scarf, a sweater, a bandana, sump'm not always just for warmth but fashion fauxpas or accidents.
-look up different fashion outfit styles you like and different garment cuts you like and shop in those design patterns (v-neck, cap-sleeve, button-down, tie-up, layered: form-fitting to loose, 3/4 sleeve or half-sleeve, tight or loose sleeve, side-tie, short/long/girl tie, how to wear bandanas and scarves with what over-garment, what jewelry, bags, shoe styles look good with what cut/design) and when to go understated and when to go bold and in what areas, what occasions require "less is more" ....🙄 And what to wear when you on purpose when you want to repel or fly under the radar, what hair and makeup styles can match or complement what styles, etc.
- have undergarments/pieces, and other clothing pieces that match anything and everything, have clothing "pieces" that can change up an outfit and can mix-and-match w/anything as well as "shed-able" according to weather/temp needs.
Eg: Beanies/hats, leg warmers, arm warmers/independent sleeves, gloves/hand accessories, scarves, socks, leggings, nylons, bolero jackets/vests, half/full-vests, thigh-high/short stockings, under shirts, corsets, decorative over-tops/sweaters/cardigans/capes/wraps/shawls/ponchos/skirts/shorts/etc. -just clothing pieces to mix and match and shed and layer and adjust and accessorize and play with mischievously to spruce up an awesome outfit.
- think outside the box: necklaces CAN be worn on your head or in your hair if small enough, a jacket can hang off you in different ways, a belt does not need to hang dead center nor even use the buckle or beltloop to be tied, a skirt can be a shirt with a tie or corset over it, leg warmers can be arm warmers, a light sweatshirt can double as hoodie and scarf in a pinch, etc. Don't be stuck in a limited perspective. Get creative, experimental, inventive. Pioneers never stayed on already-paved roads. Just make sure it looks good.
- don't over do the glitter. Use as statement piece not as entire outfit. It'll come off as overwhelming more often than not. Make sure that "shimmer" and "glitter" don't clash. Be subtle. The style of cut and wear is usually a rockin' statement enough with flash as an accent. Glamour doesn't try too hard.
- don't be snooty or overly vain, but rather preferably adjustable and go with the flow 😄👍, not so uptight. When your boyfriend chooses an appalling mismatched outfit for you to wear, go with it and be playful. Have fun. Fashion is best enjoyed with a comfortable and light-hearted perspective. Love it! It's not a joooob. 💁‍♀️
Once you get into it the habit, you can throw anything on and it'll look good. Fashion Instinct will be second nature. Whatever you like, it'll work because you're rockin' it. Confidence and a great personality is key for ANY signature style.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And whatever ya do...don't let anybody crash your happiness in your own style (but also don't let anybody convince you to wear these 👇👇 either 😏😄:).
Tumblr media
Just...no. lol!

Trendy Casual Outfits For 50 Year Old Woman Makes Her Feel Hip
Styles for women over 50 can be challenging to find online, especially when most blogs prioritize fashion styles for women under 30. Right now, I intend to provide you a couple of fashion and accessories pointers on the best ways to dress at 50 years old when your physique might not be in the exact same curvy and firm condition it was a number of years back. Look no further, you have arrived at the right place. Lots of folks think that women over 50 can not dress in attractive outfits. This is entirely inaccurate. You can be as stylish as younger women. A fashion over 50 blog will focus primarily on women over fifty. These blog sites bring the most updated fashion trend ideas and trends from across the globe. You can also buy their outfits online at very affordable prices, so remember to follow as many of these blog sites as you can. Remember that the right hairstyle is the main ingredient to your whole look, so ensure that it compliments the attire you are wearing.
Is Your Fashion Jewelry Making You Seem Older?
Have you previously looked in the mirror and an element about you looked unstylish and aged? If it wasn't the make-up, or hair or clothes, take closer look. It might possibly simply be your jewelry that's aging you. Pay attention to that mini voice within you. If that small voice started out as a whisper, telling you to remove that necklace and bracelet, consider paying attention. It could be time to upgrade your jewelry You can still get fashion jewelry at very affordable prices online. Take at closer look at this particular 925 sterling silver bracelet that costs less than $100. It resembles a $1,000 bracelet at Blue Nile. Stay away from major jewelry merchants like, Blue Nile, Kay Jewelers, or Nordstroms, except if you love paying hundreds of dollars for a modest bracelet or ring. There are many fashion jewelry stores such as our own 925 Galleria, where you can have brilliance at affordable prices. As an example, this 925 sterling silver CZ diamond ring sells for less than $50, but resembles a $500 ring sold at big jewelers wesbites.
Could jewelry make you look outdated?
The answer? Certainly. Mood rings, friendship bracelets, toe rings and lacquer earrings from the 80s should be thrown out? Jewelry is a fantastic way to express yourself. It can certainly also make you look 10 years older, however when done correctly it's a fun, simple tactic to instantly improve your attire. Necklaces are attractive and layering them is a terrific way to upgrade your wardrobe. Simply mixing in a trendy piece of jewelry, similar to this silver pendant necklace with CZ diamonds, can transform your appearance and peel a couple of years off your face immediately.
How To Dress At 55 Years Old And Older.
Completely transform with Hippie clothing. You can certainly decide to go hippie style by going all the way out with screened printed palazzos, tanks, and bandanas. You may also keep it elegant with a red overcoat and accessories that are more than just fine silver jewelry. Bold and beautiful wins the fashion race. For cool fashion at fifty, try sporting a multicolored and bright chiffon top. Curl your hair and wear gypsy style hooped earrings for a snazzy gypsy fashion. This is also a great outfit if you're looking for bohemian vibes. You can easily wear it to the beach or maybe for a casual meet up with friends. Add layers such as carves, cardigans, etc Don't go too wild with the layering, but use it to include a little bit of splash. Fifty plus women frequently get the idea that fifty means badly dressed, without realizing that it could be more or less a fantastic era. You just need to have a few additions. Things like tops with asymmetrical cuts, smart patterns, cardigans, and jackets that enhance your style, and scarves that provides extra intrigue. Elegant and sophisticated scarves go a long way for not just ladies in their fifties and plus-sizes, but practically anyone.
Styles For Women Over 50 Who Desire A Modern Look.
Denims in your fifties. Darker shades and breathable denims, along with an elastic midsection that does not go into your stomach are great. Boot cut looks naturally nice on more mature women, much like mommy jeans, however drop the old versions and opt for brands that are regularly innovating to satisfy women over 50 and 60. Don't attempt to wear the exact same jeans as your daughter, regardless of whether you're the same size. A chic style for a middle aged woman. If you are leaving to a gathering or a party, grab a large poncho top. Couple it with a bright silk scarf. This look works well if you're a sophisticated women who wants a more street style. Leggings and skinny jeans are terrific. If you just can not get over leggings, you don't need to. Pair them with tops that go beneath the hips, include scarves or a blazer to the outfit. Add some fashion jewelry to the mix for extra attention. Skinny jeans are alright too. Wear a linen in the summer, chambray or satin shirts will bring you a very classy look.
Updating Your Appearance - Dressing Fabulous After 50.
That little black dress. Who says you can not rock that little black dress any longer? It's still age-appropriate. Try to find a longer black dress, not the short ones your daughter may wear. Keep away from just about anything really tight, however the dress should still be form fitting, not frumpy like a potato sack. A simple plaid blazer. If you want a more scholarly sophistication, try tweed jacket in plaid style. This produces the superb winter season or fall outfit when paired with the appropriate fashion accessories and a tote bag. You could look amazing in Red. For energetic fashion that is trendy, but still sexy, wear a cherry top. A vibrant dose of colour looks fantastic when you want a make over.
Let's Review What A 50 Fashion Catalogue Would Teel You.
Select cardigans instead of large tops. Choose patterns and prints that complement your body shape. Jewelry accessories, such as bracelets, rings, and necklaces, instantly enhance your look. Never underestimate the power of shape-wear and the right lingerie. Do not avoid vibrant colors, balance them out. Wear well-fitting blues jeans and slacks as opposed to loose, sloppy ones. Eliminate baggy jeans with baggy tops, let any of them fit you a bit snugly. Go for dresses that drape about you instead of the clingy ones.
The Secret To Looking Great Over 50.
The fashion market for mature women that once consisted of muumuu dresses and unsightly grandma sweaters is fortunately long gone! Today's older woman feels, thinks, and appears younger than her real age. They choose fashion-forward garments that allow them to show a confident , youthful, and lively image. Wearing jewelry well is a balance of combining new pieces while staying true to your personal sense of style. And staying within your color scheme with jewelry magnifying your clothes makes for a refined look. Read the full article

Overview
New Year’s Eve is synonymous with festivities and celebrations with lights and music all around. The bright lights and noise in the cities drowns away the charm of a celebration. Many a times, we all have ended up celebrating or not celebrating a New Year’s Eve in our vehicles stuck in traffic jams.
This New Year’s Eve is destined to be different and surreal.
This winter, We will welcome the Year 2018 in the surreal moonlight reflecting off the whitest of snow in Hampta – Snow Land. The camping experience in snow in Hampta with music and great food and a bon fire with all your friends is something that will make the experience of ushering in the New Year an unforgettable one.
After being received from Prini, you will spend the next best two days of your life in the snow lands and wilderness of Sethan and Hampta. Unwind for the first day in a charming and old Himachali heritage style wooden lodge in Sethan. Explore this charming Khampa village of Lahoulis. Spend the day at the lodge and take in the majestic views of Dhauladhar and Pir Panjaal range. The snow is so much here that you will not be able to resist snow man building and throwing massive balls of snow at each other. Skiing and snow sports are a luxury which seems to be in the back yard here. You can take short tutorials in introductory lessons in Skiing with instructors and skiing gear.

Brief Itinerary:
30th Dec 2017- Sat
Guests are requested to meet us at Prini, 2 km from Manali on the left bank, by 10:00a.m. Pick up from Manali can also be arranged on prior notice. A representative of Team will drive them to Sethan, at out Wilderness lodge – a traditional Himachali cottage at 9200ft. The drive is on a restricted project road and so there is no one you will see while driving up. The vast expanse of the Kullu valley and snow will lie below us as we climb up to the cottage in Sethan.  Spend the day exploring the beautiful village of Sethan. It will be totally deserted at this time of the year and the feeling of solitude here something to envy. From here, we will go for a short trek to Pandu Ropa. It is quite an experience to walk in the snow here. Spend your day in the snow land here and return to the lodge. In the evening, chill around a bonfire and after a warm yummy dinner with friends and family, retire in the cosy cottage.

31st Dec 2017 – Sun
After breakfast in Sethan, we will trek to the campsite in Hampta to usher in the New Year. Explore the Hampta snow land at leisure and indulge in snow activities like skiing, Snow shoeing, sledgeing etc. This place has the easiest access to snow and is a haven for photographers and adventurists. There are some unexplored trails here which have to be ventured on. Hampta is also a favourite hub for international back country and heli-skiers.

In the evening, we will return to the campsite for the New Year’s Eve celebration.
Unwind with your friends around the traditional tandoors and a massive bon fire. Enjoy the snacks and the scrumptious food to your heart’s delight. The music will sound different in the silence of the chill mountain air. The echo of the sounds weaving through the moonlight reflecting off the snow will make this New Year’s Eve an affair never to be forgotten.
Bring in 2018 with a bang in the Hampta Snow land. Dance and chill out in the snow reflecting surreal moonlight.
When and if the festivities for the New Year’s begin to simmer down and it is time to get around the warmth of a tandoor to rest your aching bones, vehicles will be ready and waiting for the guests to be driven back to the cottage in Sethan.
Those who still have it in them, and many will, can choose to trek up to the cottage in the break of dawn. What a way to usher in the New Year!
1st Jan 2018 – Mon
The first sunrise of 2018 will make you want for more and that is a promise. Enjoy a lovely breakfast of the New Year 2018 in the Hampta snow land and in the charming cottage.
Bring in the New Year in a way only few can.
PARAGLIDE back from Hampta take off point and PARAGLIDE your way back flying in to Manali. This will make for a perfect Himalayan Adventurous New Year!!!

The Ultimate Guide for Holiday Gift Ideas!
Hi! It’s Tuesday and Team Fit Foodie is back together again today after over a week of being apart. I had such a fantastic holiday with my family and then Mark’s, but there’s nothing better than getting back into the routine of life at home. Now that Thanksgiving is over, we’re jumping full force into Christmas like it’s no one’s business. Let’s face it, it will be here before we know it.
I was surprised to see so many online deals this past weekend for Black Friday since deals are notoriously found in-stores on the big BF. I did a big order at Anthro because the entire store was 30% off. I’ve been obsessed with their all-natural wellness and beauty products lately! I also restocked on some undies from Aerie. It was 10 for $35, after all.
We’ve been working hard at Fit Foodie HQ over the past few weeks, putting together the ultimate guide for gift ideas. Can I just say that looking at all of these beautiful gifts makes me want to BUY EVERYTHING? Not for me though, for all my people. I’m the weirdo that loves buying gifts for people. Honestly, I do it at all times of the year. There’s something about it that warms my soul. In this post, we’ve separated out a bunch of different holiday gift guides specific to certain people in your life. We tried to hit all different price points and trends and hope these holiday gift guides make your shopping season a little bit less stressful. Enjoy!
Need help with some gift-giving inspiration? We created The Ultimate Guide for Holiday Gift Ideas for the moms, sisters, coworkers, boyfriends, etc. in your life! #giftguide #holiday #shopping

What to Pack for an African Safari
An African safari was one of my biggest bucket list experiences and, I’ll be honest, I was confronted with a completely new packing dilemma when planning my trip to Kenya. What should I pack for an safari?
I’d done an afternoon elephant safari in Sri Lanka and spent a couple days at Gondwana Game Reserve in South Africa, but spending a week in the Maasai Mara of Kenya, as well as a few days in Namibia at Wolwedons, required further planning for packing.
When in the bush at tented camps, my best advice is to choose comfort above all things. But, comfortable doesn’t have to mean frumpy. A cute safari style is easily achieved with comfortable layers that will keep you warm on early morning game drives and cool during hot afternoons back at your accommodation.
Use my packing ideas below, but revise as needed based on weather and season for when you plan your own safari trip!
My Trip Details
Location: Kenya
Travel Dates: Late-March
Season: Beginning of Wet Season
Weather: We had beautiful weather around Masai Mara in late- March. However, March to May marks the wet season across much of Kenya.
In the peak of the rainy season most other parks, especially in the highlands and the coastal parks, can be problematic with regards to heat, humidity and continuous rain. June through October, and January- February are typically high season, and offer the best weather.
What to Expect on an African Safari
Depending on the destination you’re traveling to, most game drives are in the early morning (around 5 or 6am) returning around 11am and in the evening (around 4pm) returning just after sunset.
Helpful Tip: “Safaris” are typically referred to as “game drives” around Africa.
Morning Game Drive: It is typically quite cold on the early morning game drives, so you’ll want to wear lots of layers and remove them as the morning sun gets warmer.
When staying at Mahali Mzuri and Cottar’s Camp in Kenya, they provided hot water bags on our early morning game drives to help keep us warm as well!
After exploring for a few hours, your guides might set up a bush breakfast or coffee and tea for you to enjoy before heading back. You’ll typically return to your accommodation before the heat of the day really sets in.
Evening Game Drive: Your evening game drive starts when the warm sun is still up, but expect the temperature to drop quickly– especially at sunset. Most evening game drives involve a couple of hours of exploring and end with sundowners (evening drinks at sunset) and snacks before heading back.
You’ll definitely want to have layers for your evening drive as it can get pretty chilly with the wind.
Luggage Requirements and Baggage Allowance
Triple check your luggage requirements and baggage allowance if you have to take a bush flight. When traveling from Nairobi to the Maasai Mara, my flight with Safari Link had some pretty strict requirements.
Unfortunately, they only allowed 15 kgs / 33 lbs inclusive of hand luggage. That meant all of my camera gear and camera bag (zoom lenses, cameras, etc.), my purse, toiletries and clothes all had to weigh less than what I’d normally pack in a carry-on.
I ended up having to leave behind a ton of clothes and even my tripod. It was a HUGE bummer but they are very strict with their policies. Fortunately, they offered free luggage storage. But, if you are connecting in multiple airports and not returning to your original airport, you’ll need to take everything with you.
You also might not be allowed to use a hard suitcase if they require “soft” suitcases. That means you’ll need to use a soft bag, like a duffel bag.
My advice, again, is to triple check your airline luggage requirements, pack LIGHT (try packing cubes!) and use a soft duffel bag.

Essentials
1. Sun Hat // You’ll definitely need a wide-brim hat to protect you from the rays. Pack 1 or 2 just to be safe, and make sure they aren’t thick material that will make you sweat!
2. Light Scarf // I pack a scarf on every trip but you’ll want one on safaris. Not only will it keep you warm on the sunrise and sunset game drives, it can be used to keep the dust out of your face.
3. Sunglasses // Protect your eyes, and keep some dust out of them while you’re at it.
4. Socks & Underwear // Trust me on this, bring a LOT of socks and undies. You get pretty dirty while on the game drives and you’ll want to keep changing to feel fresh.
Helpful Tip: You’ll also want to bring along gloves for warmth and earplugs for the nighttime noises. *cue hippo snoring*
5. ONA Camera Bag // I typically travel with the ONA Camps Bay backpack, since it can fit all of my gear, however, since I had to pack lighter for the safari, a bag like the ONA Prince Street Messenger was an awesome choice– pictured above. It’s made of high quality, sturdy materials, and it can fit all of my camera gear, my drone and laptop.

Tops
6. Layering Tank // In some cases, you’ll leave before the sun comes up and be out until midday, so you want to layer, layer, layer to avoid freezing or overheating throughout the day.
7. Long Sleeve Blouse // Great for layering, and offers more sun protection.
8. Utility Jacket // I highly recommend bringing a thicker jacket for colder mornings and evenings. Plus, pockets are great for storing camera lenses for easy access.
9. Denim Shirt // They look super cute under vests and jackets and are perfect for layering.
10. Fleece Jacket // Don’t forget a super warm, and comfortable, jacket for sunrise or nighttime drives. A fleece checks both boxes!
Helpful Tip: Most safari tours and game reserves will have ponchos for you should it rain! Save room in your suitcase and skip a raincoat.

Dresses
11. Sun Dress // You’ll probably want a nicer dress or outfit to put on after cleaning up, and for dinner at the lodge.
12. Midi Dress // A longer dress with breathable fabric is great when you’re sitting for long periods of time.

Bikini
13. Bikini // I don’t go anywhere without one! Your lodge or camp will most likely have a pool area for a dip during the heat of the day.
Outfits
14/15. Vest + Skinny Cargo Pants // I love these styles from Anatomie— the Kate Skinny Cargo Pant is made of a lightweight, stretchy fabric with tons of pockets, and the Delaney Vest is the perfect option for a sleeveless layer. It’s nice to have an extra layer between your shirt and coat that doesn’t add bulk to your sleeves.

Bottoms
16. Comfy Pants // Believe me when I say, I wish I had brought a cute pair of sweatpants to wear every single day. You’re sitting for long periods of time, in the early morning and evening and you’ll want something warm and comfortable.
17. Shorts // Loose shorts are definitely the way to go. Make sure the fabric is breathable!
18. Jumpsuit // You can’t go wrong with a jumpsuit outfit, especially with sleeves!

Shoes
19. Boots // You only need one pair of shoes… and by shoes I mean boots. You’ll need to wear boots any time you’re out of your lodging area to avoid stepping on anything — including critters. Find one pair that you love!
Organization
20. Packing Cubes // I can’t express how important and handy packing cubes are for any type of trip! I would highly recommend them for a safari trip.
Since you can only bring a smaller bag, you’ll want to be as efficient as possible with your space. Plus, you can organize clean and dirty clothing so much easier.
My favorite packing cubes are from MUMI Design— they offer sturdy, organizational bags for toiletries, larger packing cubes for clothing, smaller packing bags, and even bags for your shoes.

LARES TREK TO MACHU PICCHU 3 DAYS / 2 NIGHTS
Lares Trek 3 Days / 2 Nights,  is  Off the beaten track, stunning mountains scenery, High Mountain passes, quieter trails, local villages, women weaving, less tourists, Quechua speaking people, Hot spring, the route of the weavers, Andean communities with real descendant of the Incas, llama shepherds.
An amazing alternative to the Inca Trail and slightly easier than the Salcantay trek, this 3 day trek takes you off the beaten track in the Andes Mountains with a lot of opportunities to interact with the local people and the real Andean communities. Our transport will be waiting for us to take us further down the valley to the Inca town of Ollantaytambo where we will rest and have Dinner. In the night we will catch a train to Aguas Calientes. This is a spectacular journey that starts in the Quechua highlands and slowly descends to lush tropical vegetation as we near Aguas Calientes. Total journey time by train is about 1½ hours. We’ll spend the night in a hostal in Aguas Calientes. We will make it an early night to bed to prepare for your Machu Picchu visit the following morning.

We will visit the Sun Temple, Royal palace, Main Temple, Three Windows Temple and Sun Dial. It will be an unforgettable experience. After the guided tour, you will have free time to explore on your own.
If you have booked Wayna picchu, you will need to coordinate with your guide for Machu Picchu visiting depending on your scheduled time to the mountain, for people not hiking any of the mountains there are some other optional activities on your own (not included in the price):
Visit the Sun Gate: You will have an opportunity to walk (approx. 2 hours up and down) up to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) to see Machu Picchu from a different angle.
Hike to the Inca Bridge: The Inca Bridge offers a dose of adventure for your next Machu Picchu visit. However in this case, the adventure is a little less strenuous, but a lot more death defying, not for people with vertigo.
Train back to Cusco: In the afternoon you will return to the train station in Aguas Calientes for the trip back to Ollantaytambo. Upon your arrival to train station you will be transferred by car to your hotel in Cusco.

Tips: Guide, Cook, Porters
Bring for the Lares Trek to Machu Picchu
A good daypack: Eagle Creek Afar Backpack –appropriate packs to carry your personal belongings.
Original passport with the migration Peru card (for Trains, Machu Picchu Park, and Hotels)
Travel insurance (strongly recommended but not required).
Swimwear for the hot springs of Lares
Lighter trekking boots (with good ankle support)
3 pairs of trekking pants (not jeans): 1 hiking, 1 cotton–which is just enough. Please spray both pairs with an insect repellent before the trip.
Layers for variable temperatures especially at night
1 rain jacket: The first night the temperature can be as – 5 degrees Celsius/41 degrees Fahrenheit. The rain jacket can be helpful, because there are rainy days even if we are in dry season!
1 warm/Winter jacket
Thermals: wool socks, gloves, scarf, and woolen hat for cold nights.
3 pairs of underwear, 5 pairs of socks (Bamboo or cotton/nylon-blend socks dry faster than 100 percent cotton, which lose their softness when air-dried). It is nice to have a couple of extra pairs of socks to change into at night when you’re not hiking. Also, we recommend bringing both really heavy hiking socks and lighter socks because the weather is variable, so you want to make sure you’re not too cold or overheat.
3 t-shirts, 2 long sleeve shirts
1 good sleeping bag liner that is super lightweight and easy to pack. Definitely does its Job!
Travel-size tissues and wet wipes–The air is cold and damp so your nose is going to run a lot. Everyone seems to run out of tissues by the end of the trek. Also, most bathrooms do not have toilet paper (if you even get a bathroom), so wet wipes are key.
Iron tablets and pills for altitude sickness. Several people on the hike have varying degrees of altitude sickness and both of these remedies (in addition to the coca tea) are very helpful in alleviating the symptoms.
Sun protection cream (SPF 45 or higher recommended).
Bug spray with 30% DEET in it–which you need, but it doesn’t work very well. The issue with Cusco outdoors is that most of the bugs are not mosquitoes. They are these small flies you can’t even see that leave weird bites that first look like you pricked your finger and then blow up into itchy red bumps. Unfortunately, these bugs seem to bite you no matter what kind of spray you put on, so an anti-itch medication could be helpful.
Re-usable plastic or metal water container or a hydration pack such as Camel back
Water (only for first day hike). Then we will provide you with water throughout the hike.
Camera and film
A headlamp to navigate camp in the evenings and pre-dawn mornings with spare batteries
Bandages or moleskin
Flip flops to change into at night–your toes will thank you!.
Toiletries: toothbrush, toothpaste/floss, shampoo/conditioner, brush/comb, Vaseline (for feet great for potential blisters), feminine hygiene products, deodorant, nail clippers/file/tweezers, spare glasses and/or prescription, mini-eyeglass repair kit, contact lenses if required and supplies, hand sanitizer etc.–and whatever else you need, but pack light.
Medication (Imodium AD or something for your stomach. Some people get an upset stomach on the trek. With 8-10 hours of hiking each day, you need to get over whatever the day throws at you quickly, so bring some meds.
Plastic bags for dirty and wet clothes
Something to read in the evenings
Extra money for souvenirs, drinks, & tips to your staff
Additional Notes
Gift for Andean children “Optional”
Lares Trek. We recommend bringing: Coloring books, crayons, pens, notebooks, pencils, stickers, clothes, toys, etc. but not candies or chemical products. . Children will love to receive these gifts when we pass through Andean communities which have schools.
