Based on a true incident in 1993, which involves a case fought by Justice K. Chandru, it revolves around the lives of Sengeni and Rajakannu, a couple from the Irular tribe. Rajakannu was arrested by the police, and was later missing from the police station. Sengeni seeks the help of an advocate Chandru to seek justice for her husband. Chandru files a habeas corpus case and he refers Rajan case to continue further to find the truth.

Please do check out the synopsis and reviews before you watch the movie. I watched it with my parents and we were all affected after the movie. It made us angry and mad, but it also did affect us psychologically and affected our moods. It is not an easy or fun watch, but it is such a good movie. It addresses police brutality, police coercion and casteism.

படத்தில் இவர் வரும் ஒவ்வொரு Frame-um கண் இமைக்காமல் பார்த்து ரசித்தே தீர்த்தேன். தன் அழகை நடிப்பிலும் அவ்வளவு இயல்பாக வெளிப்படுத்தியிருந்தார். சிவப்பு மஞ்சள் பச்சை படத்தில் நிறைய அழகான விடயங்களை சசி காண்பித்திருந்தாலும் படம் முழுக்க எனக்கு LijoMol மட்டுமே தெரிந்தார். நீண்ட நாள் கழித்து ஒரு டஸ்கி அழகியை இவ்வளவு அழகான கதாபாத்திரத்துடன் காட்சிப்படுத்தியுள்ளார் தமிழ் இயக்குனர்.

இயல்பாகவே டஸ்கி நிறத்தழகிகள் மேல் எனக்கு காதல் அதிகம் என்பதால் இவரை ஏற்கனவே பார்த்து ரசித்த நியாபகமும் யோசனையும் ஓடிக்கொண்டேயிருந்தது படம் முழுக்க. வெளியே வந்ததும் தேடிப்பார்த்தால் எனக்கு மிகப்பிடித்த "மகேஷின்டே ப்ரதிகாரம்" என்னும் மலையாள படத்தில் நடித்தவர். ஏற்கனவே ரசித்த ஒருவரை நமக்கே தெரியாமல் மீண்டும் ரசிக்க நேரும்போது அவருக்கு நாம் ரசிகராகவும் நமக்கு அவர் க்ரஸாகவும் மாறிவிடுகின்றன. Maheshinte Prathikaaram – Sweet, unpretentious retribution

All credits to the debutant chief Dileesh Pothan and the screenwriter Syam Pushkaran, Maheshinte Prathikaaram is a standout amongst the most fulfilling films of the decade.

The title melody is really a prologue to the everyday life in and around the Idukki region, which proposes that Idukki itself is a character in the film. Mahesh (Fahadh Fasil) is a picture taker who possesses a little studio named Bhavana. He isn't a specialist in his field, yet anyway acquired the studio from his dad.
