A life-sized statue of the popular anime "Mobile Suit Gundam". It is the 6th Gundam statue in the world. The highest point is 24.8 meters, making it the highest in history. Based on the aircraft from the movie ``Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack'' (1988), it is equipped with a ``Long Range Fin Funnel'' on the back, and the Gundam moves regularly during the day and night.

Fukuoka Shopping Mall to Get Life-Sized Nu Gundam Statue

  During the "2nd Gundam Conference" yesterday that announced a bunch of new Gundam projects, including a new TV anime series Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury, it was revealed that the next life-sized Gundam will be erected at the Fukuoka LaLaport in Japan's south. This marks the third life-sized Gundam in Japan, and the fourth one in the world, with the Freedom Gundam being assembled in Shanghai LaLaport earlier this year.

      The Gundam model in question will be the RX-93ff ν Gundam (the "v" is the Greek symbol pronounced "nu"), which is a brand new Gundam based on the design of Amuro Ray's RX-93 Nu Gundam that was featured in Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack and will have a Long-Range Fin Funnel attached to its back instead of the usual Fin Funnels. The tri-color of the robot was requested by Gundam creator Yoshiyuki Tomino.

  Unlike the Yokohama Gundam, and much like the other three shopping mall robots, the RX-93ff ν Gundam will not move from its spot, but will have some animations every hour. The animations are said to be unique to the "nu" model. It is set to defend LaLaport Fukuoka from Spring 2022.
