Grief is always harder when you don’t know for certain if someone is truly gone forever or not. Processing grief is almost impossible without proper closure.
#Speaking from experience#Lialox trauma dumping time!!#Long story short a friend I had when I was 13-15 (and grew apart from in high school) fell off a cliff when we were 19#They couldn’t find his body and then the waterfall froze over so they couldn’t search there#Dude his mom was in the worst form of grief for months with no closure. It was so so sad and also devastating to see#Until spring arrived and they could dive in. And they found him there.#Context: this happened like a decade ago (don’t feel too bad about this story it’s an old one)#tsukithewolf’s post reminded me of it#How processing grief is next to impossible without proper closure I mean#That there’s this unimaginable guilt in even FEELING grief when there’s a 0.1% chance they still exist#Like a “how dare you grieve when you can hope”? Kind of thing…#Ohhhh yk what these are some tasty feelings maybe I’ll put these emotions in the form of a fic one day#Stay tuned 😏
